A criticism of Penelope Featherington I REFUSE to accept is that she isn’t a girl’s girl. Not because I think she is one, but because NO ONE IN BRIDGERTON IS A GIRL’S GIRL.

Season 2 revolved around the plot of getting with your sister’s man, that’s not girl’s girl behaviour (even though I adore Kate and Anthony). The main thing all the women in the Ton do is compete for men, trying to get the ones considered the best. I would’t even consider Eloise to be a girl’s girl, despite being the most against the marriage mart, because of the way puts down and refuses to understand the women around her who want different things to her. She doesn’t have to want kids and a husband like other women but if that’s something her friends or sisters want, putting them down for that isn’t girl’s girl behaviour either.

There obviously are totally valid and fair criticisms of Penelope, but using the fact that she’s not a girl’s girl against her is stupid because none of these women are so it means nothing.
