I think an awful lot about Splinter believing in the start of the series that he'd lost his humanity.
Tumblr media
For the sake of someone named Pete, I will go through the events in chronological order for once-
In Lone Rat and Cubs, Splinter tells the turtles about their time spent running from the Kraang before they found their forever home, and we learn that Splinter didn't easily slip into his new role. Sure, he cared for the turtles, kept them fed and sheltered them from the elements, but he still called them "creatures" and "turtles" before naming them. He didn't see this as an opportunistic situation where he miraculously became a father to a second batch of kids, but rather that he'd fallen into a pool of misfortune and would need to live with this new form while protecting himself and the turtles.
"What terrible deed did I do in a past life that such a curse has befallen me?"
Tumblr media
As he considers the turtles' growth and the possibility of a future with them, he then begins to view himself as a potential father. He explains that he wondered if he had the discipline to be a proper father, especially after the loss of his first family, and he realizes it was something he wanted to be regardless of discipline or odd circumstances.
Tumblr media
And so, he claims the turtles as his own, and accepts his role as their father.
Though he'd grown accustomed to being a mutant rat over the years, he still draws a line between "Hamato Yoshi" and "Splinter" without knowing it, albeit a blurry and ephemeral one drawn in ever changing sand.
We hear Splinter in the second episode of the series talking about the loss of his family, his home, and his own name. He more or less tells Leo that being mutated erased whatever connection he formally had to the name "Hamato," and the idea is further supported by a similar and more somber scene in I, Monster. Splinter fights off the Rat King's control as he again laments that his entire clan and family, even his humanity, is gone, and he has nothing but the turtles left for him in this new life. Fortunately, he retains his sense of self post mutation, and he's presented from the beginning of the series as one who's in control of himself, both to his sons and friends of theirs, as well as any enemy that comes their way.
However, that presentation of control gives us a bit of a look into his psyche and allows us to consider the idea of him still struggling to come to terms with not being human anymore.
Tumblr media
With the introduction of the Rat King, he's taunted by a potential loss of that control for the first time and it shakes him to his core. It makes sense for him to be shaken up since all that'd be left without him is a mindless, humanoid rat who'd lost touch with the human it used to be. Which is why it's so compelling that his sons, particularly Leo, are so adamant about reinforcing the fact that his mutation doesn't erase who he is. It's incredibly noteworthy what Leo says to him when trying to break the Rat King's control over him, "Remember who you are!"
Not who he once was, or the human he used to be, but who he is.
Tumblr media
They never viewed Splinter as a separate being from Hamato Yoshi.
The boys aren't strangers to Splinter's old life before them, and they're very much aware of everything he'd lost; the guy talks about certain things frequently enough for them to know his tragedies and recite them without skipping a letter. It's his recollections of the tribulations he suffered through that helped them understand that his life with them is undeniably disconnected from his life with Tang Shen, but not unrelated.
He's still Hamato Yoshi, and his place will always be with his family.
Having been defeated by Splinter, the Rat King runs to find another way of tormenting him, and his perfect target is fear.
Tumblr media
Though we got a brief look into this during their first encounter with Falco's twisted appearance, it's not until Of Rats and Men that we get further insight into another layer of Splinter's concern with his rat half: the repercussions that could result from the loss of control.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throughout all of his years of raising his sons, not once did he ever treat them with the intention to frighten them and make them wary of his every move. The Rat King can easily use that fear to his advantage and weaken Splinter's mental stability enough to figure out how to make mutants similar to him. And he truly makes use of that fear by turning Splinter into his personal puppet.
There's still a considerable amount of concern on the turtles' end that pierces through that fear though. After Splinter teleports across the room to distance himself, Leo looked ready to leap to his side, and the others, despite being threatened literal seconds earlier, remain where they are and are equally concerned.
Tumblr media
Eventually, the Rat King strikes again and everyone begins to piece together what's going on when Splinter loses it. Mikey is absolutely terrified and staggered by what happened, and Raph and Donnie tread with caution while Leo and April are the first ones to approach Splinter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The TV gives them extra confirmation that Falco is back, and to everyone's surprise, Splinter refuses to help them fight Falco, even when Casey is dragged down a manhole by one of the mutated rats in their first attempt to clear the streets. It's not an easy choice for Splinter to make because we see how guilty he feels for his refusal, but the gang doesn't fault him for refusing either. No matter how much they want for Splinter to join them, he's right to worry about what the Rat King, now stronger than before, could force him to do.
April speaks for everyone though when she tells him they all believe in him. They make it known that they aren't afraid of what may happen, and they especially aren't afraid of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, Splinter changes his mind at the last minute, and, with the help of a recently mutated cat, he chases Falco down to deal with him once and for all. Protecting his family takes priority over his doubts, and by the end of the episode, he overcomes his fear of the Rat King controlling him.
He has his humanity, and that's what makes him different from the rat Falco constantly made him out to be.
And for the first time in the series, in The Lonely Mutation of Baxter Stockman, he says out loud that he has his humanity and is thankful he's fortunate enough to still have it when others lose it post mutation.
I previously went a bit more in depth about it in this post but the boys have witnessed Splinter grappling with being a rat, particularly with the Rat King's meddling, and Donnie sincerely believed giving him retromutagen would be something he'd want. This was clearly an idea that's been weighing on Donnie's mind for a while considering that he seemingly kept quiet about his plan until he completed the retromutagen, and he's the most upset when he has to use the remaining dosage for Kirby.
Tumblr media
But Splinter tells him and the other turtles he's content as he is and wouldn't do anything to change himself this far in. And the boys all seem content with his answer.
With the invasion of the Kraang and his defeat at the hands of the Shredder, Splinter again comes face to face with his mutated genes, and there's no Rat King stringing him along this time. He'd been swallowed by delirium with the lack of familial support to pull him out of it, and he became spiritually disconnected from his body as a result. The gang is initially caught off guard by Splinter's state, but they quickly get over it and work to subdue him.
Tumblr media
While the boys are pulled away into battle, April uses her powers to sift through Splinter's memories and, after showing him the time he asked her to train with him, we see a memory with the turtles, Karai, and his only family portrait from before his mutation:
Tumblr media
Seeing his family is what manages to bring him back to his senses.
Tumblr media
We the audience, as well as Splinter, figured that was the end of his troubles with being a mutant rat, but Shredder decided to bathe in some super juice and sent Splinter careening a thousand feet into a dark cavern, the same one Splinter sent Falco down two seasons ago. Being thrown into near total darkness with a fairly debilitating injury and fever was the perfect recipe for him to begin hallucinating, and he believes the Rat King is attacking him when he's most vulnerable. But just when he feels himself slipping further away, his mind goes straight to the day his sons celebrated their 15th mutation day, and just beyond them is Tang Shen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He regains his clarity, grasps that Falco's been dead the whole time, and is immensely relieved to see Donnie and Mikey after what he'd been through.
Tumblr media
"Perhaps a teacher, but never my master."
Falco inadvertently taught Splinter that he's always had his humanity, and his family serves as a reminder of that fact by remaining a constant and significant pillar for him.
His family is his humanity.

i can’t help that feel like 350 calories per cat per day across 5 clans (150 some odd cats!!!) is more prey than there is! even with really generous cooking estimates you’d need to catch a rabbit or two or a large fish or something per clan every single day of the year. i feel like that would really mess up prey populations, wouldn’t it? i know animals have a lot of babies, but 3,650 rabbits’ worth of calories every year (not to mention what other predators like foxes, snakes, and hawks are eating) feels like too much for one territory. are we assuming that there’s more prey than there is or do i just not know how much offspring animals produce?
WELL, there's a lot of factors here, but you are actually organically figuring out something true and horrifying. BB!Cats are sapient, able to understand their impact on the environment and ergo manage it, but feral domestic cats are devastating to local ecosystems.
Not even because of caloric need btw just because of how much they hunt, and their odd behaviors.
The Bad
There is a reason why predator populations are so massively outnumbered by prey species. One rabbit would feed a single cat for days, but one colony is typically 3 - 15 cats. Most predators are solitary, or have "loose" social structures spread out over many partially overlapping territories covering miles (like alligators)! but something changed when cats were domesticated, and they now seek out dense social units unlike their wild ancestors.
That's why the only social wild cats are lions. Lion prides are extremely flexible, ranging from 3 to upwards of 30 members, and their populations are going to depend completely on how much prey they have access to. Even the shocking "infanticide" thing that male lions are notorious for serves an ecological purpose; less lions means more meat, so every cub that isn't yours is a future rival.
(tangent: the largest lion prides actually set up in major migration "hubs," where there is a constant influx of traveling animals. Not really an "ecosystem" where the pride can damage the population.)
But now domestic cats are doing this, in ecosystems that can't support them and never had predators that behave like them. They compete with the local mesopredators ("middle" hunters that hunt small game but are killed by larger predators. Ex: raptors, snakes, caniforms like foxes or raccoons, etc) and put extra pressure on prey populations.
But that's not the worst part.
In nature, there are Predator-Prey cycles. When there's too many predators, they decrease the prey population. When there's not enough prey, the predators starve and their population lowers. Here is a graph of this phenomenon;
Tumblr media
In this way, starvation is required for an ecosystem to stay healthy. It's how nature regulates.
But human beings feed cat colonies.
So colonies end up hitting DOZENS of cats. Upwards of 30 in a tiny area. The sizes you see in canon WC and in BB are TWICE the size of what a feral cat colony typically reaches. In the real world, this is because humans feed them. They HAVE to starve to lower the population, and make no mistake, these are slow, painful deaths.
"But, if we feed the colony, then they're not hunting the local prey, right? Because they're not hungry?" INCORRECT. THEY ARE ANIMALS. Cats are not humans with our sense of morality and long-term consequences. Hunting is only partially driven by hunger, it's also driven by prey drive. Even an outdoor cat, who gets all their meals at home, is killing an average of 90 animals a year.
(note: you may hear the number "they kill 3.5 animals a day." That is a misreading of this study which says 3.5 animals a month based on owner reports; but better study shows they only bring about 18% of their kills home.)
I could get into why I'm actually not a big fan of TNR as a conservation strategy because of this, but in a nutshell, the best solution to feral cat population management overall is (expensive) high-intensity TNR (70% or more) PAIRED with (inexpensive) removal/euthanasia and other methods (like banning colony feeding). PURE high-intensity TNR takes up to 30 years to remove a cat colony in computer simulations. And they keep killing wild animals that whole time.
(tangent: you may come across articles that say that killing feral cats doesn't work. This is often based on this Tasmanian case study by Lazenby et all, where they trapped and removed cats, only to find an influx of subordinate "satellite" individuals that filled the vacuum that the previously established individuals left and increased the overall population. This is a well-documented phenomenon of predator control. They don't tell you that this is short-term and also happens with TNR, just over a longer timeline, as discussed in the above studies, and the solution is to mix methods and make sure that these programs are carried out systemically, NOT ONLY in one limited range.)
So... feral cat colonies with totally realistic needs are very harmful to local ecosystems. They are animals, and they are an invasive species. Keep your cats indoors please
The Good
But BB!Cats and Canon!Cats aren't just animals. These are cats with governments and religion. They do understand long-term consequences.
Even on the page in-canon, they show an understanding that prey comes from breeding (unlike, say, a medieval human who believed in spontaneous generation), WindClan doesn't disturb lapwings during their nesting season showing a basic understanding of ecology, and they even have a law against food waste. Like it or not, these aren't realistic cats. They are small humans with a fuzzy little kitty coat tossed over them.
So we can actually reasonably assume that Clan cats are modifying their behavior so they aren't the ecosystem-shredders that their real-world counterparts are, like;
Hunting over a wider area and having a large territory (so to address you directly anon, their territories are not as small as you might think they are)
Taking the pressure off specific areas by sending their hunting patrols to various parts of their territory
Avoiding hunting animals during their breeding and nesting seasons.
Not killing animals that are pregnant or nursing
Leaving baby animals alone so they grow into bigger food items
Not killing what they don't plan to eat
Intentionally varying their diet so they take a little from many populations.
Hunting animals that real cats don't usually target, like fawns, seagulls, and young boars.
Breeding their own prey, if you're willing to do a little domestication innovation
If you're VERY cool, give them fire. go on. do it. 20% to 50% caloric increase is prettyyy cooool~
But also, you may be underestimating just how many babies prey species produce. Let's use rabbits because these things are insane. They weren't lying, rabbits can breed like rabbits.
European rabbits (and all the domestic breeds they are descended from) have a double womb. That means that when they've given birth to their litter of 4 - 12 babies (usually 6), they can already be pregnant with the next. Gestation is a month. These babies are able to leave their mothers at 2 months and can breed by 4 months. They can have 10 litters a year.
So a SINGLE rabbit COULD have well over 100 bunnies a year... but rabbit warrens are usually 10 - 50, mostly females, plus a bunch of bucks who are more solitary and more likely to travel around. And you're gonna have multiple warrens on a territory.
Low litter estimate, small warren; 10 x 4 x 10 = 400 bunnies. Big litter estimate, big warren; 50 x 12 x 10 = 6,000 bunnies.
That said, most estimates say they functionally end up with 20 adult children a year, which then go on to breed at four months. That's still 200 rabbits a year coming out of that small warren ALONE, and isn't counting the fact that those children are also going to have children of their own.
(though, rabbits in particular are facing a massive crisis in england and even across europe because of two diseases that hit them one after another OTL but it's not related to predation.)
Don't forget that a territory also has more than just rabbits. This is also happening with mice, rats, ducks, sparrows, voles, etc. Like I said, if your cats just diversify the prey they hunt in response to population changes, they'll be golden. In BB I even have a role dedicated to this now; the Head of Hunting, who is tasked with assessing this sort of thing.
SO, to answer you directly;
Feral Cats Bad
WC characters have more in common with a small human than a cat
Pure carnivores are pretty demanding on their ecosystems
There is plenty an intelligent creature can do to reduce their impact on the ecosystem
Their territories could still support them along with the other predators
You did underestimate just how many babies prey animals have, though
Overall, they would be fine. You COULD overhunt a territory, but not with basic prey management practices.

Shihua is looking at the youngest of the monkeys and thinking maybe that MK might be Wukong and Macaque's cub. The two elders certainly treat the kid as theirs, but when asked, MK refers to himself as Wukong's student, not his son.
Shihua: And what of you, young one? How did you come to be?
MK, sweating: Oh, uh... well, Pigsy and Tang raised me when I showed up on their doorstep lost and alone. Then, a few years back, I found Monkey King or... he found me? Anyways, he's been teaching me as his successor ever since!
Shihua: Oh dear, so you two were a child of the Floods that lost their parent?
MK, wincing: Not... exactly...
Wukong: MK is a bit of a... special case. Through some form of divine interference orchestrated by the goddess Nuwa herself, he was born of the same stone as I. It was only recently that we even discovered he was one of us to begin with, much less that we were connected at all, and we're still not even sure why that was.
Shihua hears this and thinks that means MK is either Wukong's version of Luzhen, born much later than his elder brother, or considering the significant time difference between their worlds that she will be fated to have another cub in the future. Either way, she hears "born of the same stone" and thinks, "Oh. Nuwa herself gave me another child." It isn't until much later, when MK is infodumping too much to his family when he finallytells them about Nuwa (promptef by Wukong's explanationabout being born of the same stone), and her just happened to accidentally eavesdrop she realized the whole 'born to be a sacrifice' thing MK had going on.
Hehe.
MK is finally forced to open up about his S4/5 trauma to his family. Namely the fact he learned that he's a clay baby created by the Goddess Nuwa herself as an extention of the Five Heavenly Stones in order to act as flexi-tape for the Fifth Pillar & herald the end of a apocalyptic cycle.
MK gets a lot of frustrated and horrified cuddles from his dads, bestie, and mentors. And the Stone Matriarch.
However the detail that he was created "from the same stone" as Wukong/Shihou throws Shihua into some speculation that she choses to keep between her and Ye Lin. Wouldn't that make MK related to Wukong? Is he biologically their grandchild? (Macaque is def mistaken for a second bio parent) Or would that "stone" have been the remnants of Shihua herself? Making MK her son?
"Born from the same stone" could also be Stone Monkey slang for saying you have blood-related siblings - a common phrase given that they're called Shi Baomus/Stone Nannys for a reason. Lots of adopted non-stone cubs end up in their clan. XD
This only further inforces Shihua's thoughts of MK being like her alternate son, whether he's that world's Luzhen or a future 3rd child. She thinks MK/Xiaotian looks perfectly like her beloved Ye Lin with his brown fur and golden eyes. <3
Learning about the "Harbinger" stuff horrifies the Matriarch, but hearing that her boys would have fought eachother to save the world makes her proud.
The Noodle gang, especially Pigsy and Tang, are considered honorary stone monkeys for helping to raise this stray cub. Pigsy and Tang share MK's baby photos and stories of raising him, and all the stone monkeys are aww-ing at the cute mixed family. MK is embarassed as heck.
MK is politely refered to as a "Prince" by the stone monkeys, much to his confusion.
He is his Shihou's successor after all!

Just had a long weekend with no internet and no writing done. Going to really have to jump back in the saddle to keep on my weekly update schedule for my current fic, but in my downtime out in the pristine wilderness, had a lot of time to brainstorm for future Omega Red stories to write once "Living Weapon, Living Computer and a Touch of Luck" is complete. Really looking forward to writing these (almost to the point of wanting to jump on these right away, but I must stay focused on the current task!) but thought I would at least list the general ideas out just so I have a record of it somewhere so I don't end up forgetting them.
1. Short misadventures of Arkady and Kotik. The ins and outs of taking care of a tiger cub and goofy stuff Kotik will get into or behavior that will baffle, perhaps frustrate or comfort Arkady. Might set up as a 5+1 story.
2. Omega Red and Captain America team-up story. Need to really think about the villain for this one. The villain needs to be compelling and have a reason to go after both of them specifically to get a team-up.
3. Alternate Universe where Arkady is raising the Omega Clan out in the wild to avoid two major conflicting groups. The Omega Clan is going to be deaged for this one and plan to have Sage included somehow in this story as well. Need more general worldbuilding to set up the two factions for this one.
4. A what if story of what would have happened if Anastasia Illyevna Pavlichenko was still alive when Arkady made his return home in the Infinity comic.
5. What if Sage and Arkady met earlier in the Marvel timeline when she was still working undercover in the Hellfire club and he was working for the General in the Mafia?
6. Krakoa X-Force reunion adventure. Need to think of the mission they will be taking on that would compel the group to come back together.
7. Goofy one-shot of Arkady, Deadpool, Logan, and Victor playing a two-on-two pickup hockey game, just because. Should have Snikt family and Omega Clan join in as well.

An alternate first meeting between our Yue and Macaque is him using his future hearing, hears about how Heaven is planing to send a bride for Wukong from LOES, goes there to see what's going on and just falls in love with her. Oh, and meeting RinRin and Shanzha.
Maybe when the clan tried the tactic of drugging Yue, she just willing goes along with it as a plan from her aunts and uncle to get out of the lands safely with Macaque tagging along in the shadows as back up.
Bonus;
Wukong : I can't believe I'm forced to get married. Whoever she is, better-
Macaque stepping out of the marriage sedan chair while holding an adorable monkey cub with six ears and big eyes.
Wukong : ... I am suddenly more willing to be a married man.
Awh ❤️ Macaque meeting his family first before taking advantage of the Celestial Express service to get his niece to safety. Meanwhile Shanzha and RinRin are coming over by foot enjoying their honeymoon.
At least no faces are nearly torn off here. Just Yue and her uncle coming into FFM and shattering the Otome Game plot before it began.
Wukong: 😳 I’ll take responsibility! For you and your child!
Macaque: 😣 Dude, I just took the palanquin so Yue wouldn’t be scared! I’m not actually the bride! And Yue’s my niece!
Wukong: Is that a no?
Macaque: …I guess you can take a little responsibility.
Yue: Oh wow, they’re just as fruity as auntie and sifu 👀📸

Heyya! It's me again! 🌙! Been a while since I asked a question:3 btw hru? Love your new fics! And also concerned on how many requests you have. Pls do take your time on making them you could (or have gone) burnt out if you rush. Do take a break from time to time <3. Here are my questions!
Questions for both Sagau x bsd and self aware bsd
1. Did you mention Verlaine in SAGAU X BSD?
2. Where are all the other good genshin characters stay in GL world (like nahida, scaramouche, citizens, etc.) ?
3. Does Nahida and Furina move their people in the real world too?
4. Is Fitzgerald basically the richest person in the world?
5. In the real world, is the government suspicious of Fitzgerald like- suspicious if he is the richest person in the world.
Hello, 🌙 Anon! Long time no see.
I am doing great. Glad that you liked my last fics.
And thank you for your concern. I am doing requests in my own pace, taking enough breaks.
And to your questions.
1. Verlaine was mentioned in this post and in this post. He also has one SAGAU themed meme, and he was requested in Event.
He didn't appear in the fics, for now. I am planning to write about him saving Furina and Melusines from Fortress of Meropide, but, it still in planning.
Can share some plans for future SAGAU x BSD AU Crossover fics
(Right now I am talking about original fics, not including requests and event!)
Fukuzawa and Fukuchi fic. - "A step back". Set right after Reader returned from Teyvat, but before Capitano got into the Real World to capture Reader. About Fukuzawa and Fukuchi taking care of a still almost broken Reader.
Mori, Elise and Zhongli fic. - Mori vs Zhongli
Verlaine and Furina fic I mentioned above
Maybe? An Arlecchino focused fic. A scene, where Arlecchino came to Reader to negotiate about benefits she will get from helping Reader. Will I tie it to BSD Character? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We will see.
Mitchell and Venti fic. Venti, after confronting Fake Creator, is forced to be loyal to them, otherwise they will execute everyone in Mondstadt. He gets an earful from Mitchell.
Another Fukuzawa fic, possibly? Something with Fukuzawa act as an assassin again. Perhaps with Rosaria and Eula, or Lawrence Clan.
Saving Nahida and Aranaras fic. Chuuya? Perhaps Adam and Lucy.
Fake Creator focused fic. About their past, and why they decided to pretend to be a Creator. Possibly with Ayatsuji.
Atsushi fic. Something soft, Atsushi bringing tiger cubs to Reader for petting them.
BEAST Spin Off. Semi-canon for the main crossover. BEAST Characters get into the Real World after Reader returned from Teyvat and BEAST! Mori accidentally scared Reader with his voice.
What if. What if Reader get into Teyvat before BSD Cast got into the Real World and during execution Reader, instead of returning to the Real World, got teleported into BSD World.
2. In BSD Manor. It's big enough to house few more people. If needed, Fitzgerald might order to build one more house (he was planning to do it anyway, in case more BSD Characters appeared in Real World).
Kids helped Aranaras and Melusines build new villages for them.
3. Does Nahida and Furina move their people in the real world too?
It will depend, if most of their citizens will be in danger (example: If Fake Creator ordered Apep to "unleash" jungles on Sumeru, or Neuvillette decided to drown Fontaine), Furina and Nahida will demand for their people to be moved.
Otherwise, if their people aren't in danger, they will see and wait.
BSD Cast, while angry, aren't unreasonable. They understand, why common people chased after Reader (fear, religious beliefs). Their revenge are mostly focused on "playable characters". People in power, who ordered to hunt Reader.
They will try to keep permanent damage to the normal citizens as low as they can.
4. He is quite rich. I won't call him the richest, but he is wealthy.
5. Even if they are, they won't find anything. Fitzgerald is financially clear. For real world, he was just a cosplayer, who decided to play on the stock exchange (Fitzgerald and Alcott) and get a jackpot from online casino (Sigma, Fyodor, Dazai). There is no tax evasion, Fitzgerald is just a very lucky person.
BSD Cast prepared, before going to the real world.

Naruto making sure his sensei’s family is going to be okay is making me so happy.
Imagine him casually helping them via seals and medical knowledge that’s considered common knowledge during his time.
Naruto wasn’t able to save Kakashi (was saving Kakashi even now? He doesn’t know. The logistics of time travel was supposed to be Shikamaru’s thing.) had to leave him behind bleeding and broken to suffer… whatever happened after Naruto landed in the past.
What he can do is raise these baby Hatakes and make the world a better place so Kakashi will never have to make that same sacrifice in the future (the past? Sage it made his head hurt) and hand out his knowledge left and right in the hopes that it will sage the world one day. He can make sure no matter what that Kakashi won’t end up as the last of his once proud clan. Won’t have to lose a father and an eye and a team and so much more. He owes Kakashi that much. Owes it to him for giving his life to give Naruto the chance.
His cubs made things easier, the three children that latched onto him almost from first glance (and it should be concerning as he fell out of the sky covered in blood with the scent of wolf and fox on his skin and tore out someone’s throat with his teeth only moments later) but it still aches.
When one do the adults had Kakashi’s laugh.
When his youngest cub grins up at him until his eyes squint in a painfully familiar way.
When, eventually, he meets the Uchihas and gets punched in the gut with Sasuke’s face looking back at him with a different name.
He will make the world better for all of them. So they will never have to die for him again. So it won’t all be in vain.
But first he has to keep a Senju and Uchiha from killing each other and hunt down a weird fucking plant.

IDW beast wars or the planet/colony of Eukaris wasn't as focused on as I was expecting.
Still, it gives me a lot of changes to go crazy over a whole new lore and AU.
Let's get it in this way, what could be seen of Eukaris is that they're divided in what they call tribes or clans, most of the mechs and femmes belong to one of the four main tribes depending in their alt mode as in the scale walker tribe (the reptile like ones), the wave walker tribe (the ones that have water oriented alt modes), the cloud walker tribe (the ones that can fly) and the fur walker tribe (the ones with, well, fur, maybe mammals as majority).
And then we've Airazor and Tigatron, a couple of outcast that choose one another in sacred conjunx ritual over their different tribes, which means leaving your tribe or choosing a conjunx of another clan is frowned upon since we can clearly see how Dinobot shut up Tigatron in a harsh manner even when the last one tried to be calm, it can be noticed how Tigatron takes it with such boredom, which shows it's not the first time it happens, and how Airazor reacts (totally and rightfully mad), it's obvious this is an everyday matter and everyone just goes along with it.
It is supposed that like in any other titan colony Eukaris has it's own hot spot, a couple, group or a single mech could go there and have a sparkling, a new spark that is going to take form and live on the custom of their tribe.
What could be the odds to have a sparkling that doesn't belong to their mentors frame or clan?
How would other mechs and femmes act upon this, as in, what would happen if a fur walker has a scale walker? Would the tribe expulse the pair or they would handle the sparkling to the respective tribe even when the mentor is trying to stop it?
That's something that bugs me, in bad manner for sure, especially when I think of Terraformer AU! Cheetor.
Being torn between being happy and terrified by such a joyful occasion, looking at his future cub's spark rest in your hands that starts to bleed, he doesn't care that even the circuits in his servos are exposed when he embraces you to his chest plate, burn skin and charred fur smell reaching his sensible nose and making it ache, still there is happiness that drips along around you, while he nuzzles his face over your head, purring contently when the first bits of protoform start to form around the new spark, his whole clan singing and congratulating you both when the spark gives off it's first pulse in the new body.
He is so happy, so content, he let's you rest with leaves and medicine around your hands, exhausted by the miracle of helping bring new life, mindful of how long it'll take for you to heal back, he'll take things over his own new repaired servos, brushing off any other tribe members that try to help him, taking care of the sparkling that starts to move little servos around, still not showing any discernable face or distinctive feature, but it was okay, his sparkling was supposed to take more time since you, his conjunx endurae, were human.
His happiness is what makes him overlook the first sound his sparkling does with a new formed intake, a hissing sound that takes Cheetor for surprise along with the little fangs, he is in beast form with his sparkling previously recharging over his big and soft paws, promptly cooing over his sparkling and proceed with a very affectionate grooming with his glossa, singing praises of how his sparkling is going to be such a brave warrior and hunter when the first sound out of the voice box is a hiss, such a fearless young cub that is already showing powerful fangs!
He notices, along the next days, how his sparkling likes to be warm than most other sparklings in the tribe, other bots tell him that's normal, but he only takes it as in a big favor to be close to him, close to you, and he can't really take his optics off the image of his little cub in a woven carrier made of vegetable fiber that strings the sparkling to your chest or the way you gently rock your body to get the feisty little fellow to sleep while he bites the woven plants before Cheetor stops the attack, he likes so much to see you carrying the baby, as you called the sparkling.
"Still not choosing a name?" you called out to him, looking how many datapads were scattered around him.
"I want the designation to be as accurate as possible" Cheetor beamed to you, taking advantage of his place seated on the floor to be in perfect place to kiss your neck, sparkling recharging over your little chest, "I'm going to the final round with Earthquake, Lionaxe or Flame claws"
"You aren't sure if bitty here is going to be a feline or whatever else" you laugh wholeheartedly, and in any other occasion Cheetor would've basked in the sound, but you are worried by the face he pulls, "hey, it ain't going to be that bad" you take his helm in your hands, kissing him softly, "dog, elephant, unicorn, whatever comes, we'll be proud" you tell him and he hears you with all his attention, he doesn't even want to think of any other possibility, his sparkling is a fur walker, Cheetor is sure, his feisty little cub.
That's what he says to himself, repeating like a mantra when he wakes up to the feeling of something moving strangely along his midsection just to find a big and long tail moving around the berth, in any other occasion he could be proud, just like when the bitty showed clawed servos that Cheetor proudly compared to his.
He couldn't compare his tail to the one his sparkling had, sleeping soundly while pressed to you in search of your warm body and keeping your beating heart near, in that moment, Cheetor could feel the dreariness of the situation, wake you up with an expression that showed his fear and how a plan was forming on his mind, you could only try to hear his explanation to what was happening, or to be more honest, what was going to happen when others got to see the sparkling.
Everyone noticed, as it seem, the different smell couldn't be covered by his own or yours, the sparkling own EM field reaching out.
"NO!" He cried out loud your name, hearing your own pleads, you calling out to him when a mech of the Scale walker tribe tried to take you away with your sparkling being protected by your soft, vulnerable body, telling you to come along for the benefit of your child, almost dragging you away, "No, please no, Optimus, do something, please!" Eukaris can sometimes be a harsh place, still reigned by old traditions that come from Onyx Prime's time, never once Cheetor questioned it, but now he can only try to move and reach out to you two, his own tribe holding him down and telling him this was for the best, how his cub would be better off within it's own kind and that you, as the carrier, should stay with your sparkling given the little mech's uniqueness.
He couldn't do anything, looking at Optimus, the leader of his clan, with pleading optics, but his great and strong leader could only do so much, his own human cub at his side, looking torn in what was happening and closing his dark eyes when the beastformer started to cry out loud for mercy, crying for his conjunx and his sparkling.
Such a thing have never happened before, sometimes the sparkling did have a different alt mode than the mentors, sure, but that was easily detected from the get go or the very first days, taking the sparkling to the correct tribe if needed.
Cheetor and you had yours for almost a complete solar rotation cycle when you were separated, that didn't change most of it, he was going to be there for his cub, not caring if he had to leave his own tribe behind and take you away from the other, lone groups were a thing, way more exposed to the dangerous environment and the idea of having a sparkling in those circumstances was suicidal, but he was going to get back his family or die trying.
Cheetor was at the edge of entering Megatron's domain when Primal stopped him and gave him another solution that he couldn't believe at first, but he was grateful, so, so grateful when you were returned to him and he could embrace you and his cub again after Primal made the announcement of his decision, leaving the Fur walker tribe and making his very own, one that could be joined by any eukarian that wanted to do so, some fur walkers joined him, most remained, and it was only a matter of time for all the outcasts to join too with a beastformer with the title of Primal.
It was going to be difficult, that was for sure, even finding a new territory was hard, but everything was paying off at the end of the day when he created a new home for you all, way more bigger than before taking in mind how big his sparkling already was, the scale walkers said something about a fast growing process and bigger appetite, but you two would get across the challenge.
"CHEETOR" your voice could be heard from a great distance, making him drop his hunt in the door of the hut and run to you.
"What?! Are you okay?! Something wrong?!"
"The baby changed, a baby snake, lizard, erm, I don't know!"
And maybe old traditions weren't so wrong when you hurriedly call for help when Viperus took a bite on Cheetor's tail and refused to let go, minutes later showing that your baby had poison when your conjunx was as stiff as a fallen log and foam was coming out his intake, still, the scale walkers that joined your outcast tribe helped just in time with their knowledge in poisonous chemicals.
It wouldn't be the last time Viperus poisoned Cheetor, but it was the first time that was unintentional.

maybe a weird question, but do you have any recommendations for non-mob psycho media? I’ve been in search of something that hits similarly/is as well made and I trust your judgement o wise one. I’m not super picky, so recs of any kind would be appreciated :)
im like the worst person to take media recommendations from because you have to tie me down to watch something new and then i get obsessed with it forever, in terms of things ive seen recently that hit the same tumblr is NOT lying dungeon meshi is really good and if you start watching now you're gonna be watching at the part where it starts getting crazy
other stuff ive been into (gets progressively less mob psycho and generally more depressing like the further down we go bc i tend to get into really, really sad shit):
-i <3 deltarune but everyone has already played that. deltarune good. if you havent played deltarune play deltarune. genuinely like it more than undertale. also if the last chapter of deltarune is just the confession arc i called it and deserve a million dollars
-same w spiderverse. listen usually i dont care about superhero stuff but god these movies are good and i really hope they stick the landing.
-everything everywhere all at once continues to be one of my favorite movies ever
-rainworld (video game, very difficult but skurry's playthroughs do a good job summarizing the plot and general vibe of each route if you wanna watch those. i watched my friend play survivor ages ago and ive been playing through survivor with a friend on multiplayer and decided to watch some playthroughs to get a feel for the map and GOD DAMN the story of this game. rivulet route almost made me cry.) fair warning this is animal death the video game.
-severance (live action tv show, general plot is some sort of dystopian future where they invent a surgery where you can seperate your work self from your normal self so you clock into work and then black out until your shift is over. except your work self is just stuck at work forever. only 9 episodes but very, VERY good)
-i actually really enjoyed the scott pilgrim comics and the anime i wish anyone ever could be normal about them. id definitely suggest comics (if you can handle the 2000s humor) then anime. also basically everyone knows this but fair warning that starting out the main character is in his early 20s dating a 17 year old, it is explicitly treated as a shitty thing by the narrative and theres nothing explicit and its made very clear that he has 0 feelings for her whatsoever and is just using her as an ego boost but if youre sensitive to that stuff i might skip this one
-lots of webcomics about animals. i read so many webcomics about animals its like. my main media intake. this is part of the reason that i dont understand complaints about the art style my favorite webcomic looks like this
Tumblr media
its called doe of deadwood and ill think about it until the day i die. others im currently reading (since this one wrapped a while ago) are "what lurks beneath" (cat cult on an island) "waves always crash" (cat cult on the beach) "i didnt know" (cat cult in a barn), toufati sawa (hyena trying to avenge her clan) and africa (leopard trying to survive the harshening world with her cubs) warning for animal death with all of these and general abuse warning for all those cat cult ones bc. cults.
-i like warrior cats. do not read warrior cats. its not very good and youll get stuck here forever.
-pathologic but the actual game and not just people describing the game please watch someone play the actual game summaries skip so much of the meat of the story and the characters. or play the game if you can bear learning to strategically quicksave. fair warning there is a lot of racism depicted against indigenous people in these games and while the framing of it generally aires on the side of "racism bad" there are a lot of kinda shitty tropes that come with it.
-listen bojack horseman is one of my shows it is the polar opposite of mob psycho in like every way and i would never in a million years recommend it if you want something that hits like mob psycho but if we're asking for just things i enjoy this is one of them. heavy cw for drug usage and abuse with this one. might want to give "does the dog die" a look for this one bc people are not joking about how heavy this show is
-same with hospice. hospice is a concept album about a hospice worker and a patient and has had more of an influence on me than any other piece of media ever bc i found it at the exact perfect time in my life for it to be relevant to my circumstances and now its like part of my identity. heavy cw for abuse also
-speaking of concept albums hey have you listened to tyler the creator he has several. WOLF especially i really like because the plot is actually like. kinda intricate. he also says the f slur a lot in WOLF but hes bisexual so diversity win?
-succession good. tw for like. everything though. probably "does the dog die" this one.
-hey have you ever watched david lynch's 1972 film "eraserhead"

NPC Spotlight: Shivering Echo
Tumblr media
Born to Diving Heron and Striking Lightning 38 moons ago, Shivering Echo has always been one for adventure. He and the other cubs his age were always doing their best to try and get out of camp, and see the mystical things the elders had always told them stories about.
It was a moon before their apprenticeship would begin that Shivering Echo would make it all the way to the Sunsquirrel’s clearing. He had heard many stories of the iridescent creatures that could tell you the future.
He was impatient, though, and couldn’t stand the thought of sitting still until they came out of their nests. His parents would notice his absence soon, and he needed to see the future now. His best solution? Climb.
To this day, Echo couldn’t tell you the specifics of what happened next even if he wanted to. He remembers trying to climb up to a nest with a beautiful striped feather sitting in it. He remembers reaching out with a single paw.
And then he remembers falling. But he never felt the impact of the landing.
He woke up the next day in the healer’s den, his parents frantic and upset. A guardian patrol had been sent out to find the cub, after other young ones had finally admitted the truth. But Echo didn’t seem to mind the trouble. He had decided it was all worth it, for what he had seen.
He described his experiences in and out of consciousness. The healers say they almost died. And that’s when he knew what he had seen. Somewhere not quite the land of the living, and not quite to the Beyond, where StarClan laid their borders. A place in the middle, what he deemed the “In-Between”
Shivering Echo neglected much of his Hunter training, becoming obsessed with returning to this place they had glimpsed into. He would spend days at a time in the Clearing, begging StarClan, or whoever it was who sent him this vision, for answers.
He figured his near-death experience, falling out of that tree, must have caused his body to begin the journey to the Beyond while his soul wasn’t ready, or something like that, and that’s what he was determined to recreate. He became reckless with himself, obsessed with a single moment of vision between consciousness, something ethereal and greater than anything anyone had ever seen before.
Not many believed him in the beginning, but maybe his determination despite what it did to his reputation was what gained Shivering Echo followers. He spoke of the In-Between to anyone who would listen, of its power and beauty, of the strange creatures he caught glimpses of. No one else had heard of this place before, so it was impossible to know if he told the truth. But his conviction won some over, and the belief began to spread.
Once Shivering Echo had become a hunter, a recognized adult, they began planning a trip. He had spoken with the otters after sneaking beyond the baobab’s to BevyClan, and they spoke of a great cave that glowed with starlight during full moons. That was surely his ticket, he just needed to find it.
He approached Sunlit Morning for their blessing, and with some hesitation, it was granted. At the next gathering, he was given permission to speak with the other clan’s leaders about sending their own sabers along, but he was only allowed to bring those who willingly volunteered for the journey. Word of his visions had spread beyond the borders by now, and each clan had a few who were interested in seeing what could be discovered.
The storm put a pause on his plans, but Shivering Echo was never one to be deterred. He had faced many challenges over his convictions before, and one more would not be the end. He bided his time, and helped his clan as any dutiful Hunter would in times of strife. When the weather cleared, he did not ask SunClan’s new leader for permission, believing that the late Sunlit Morning’s blessing was all he really needed.
When the weather cleared, they were gone, along with any who wanted to join. No one has heard from the group since their departure, and no one knows when to expect them back, if ever.

Fell in love with Badger!Dovewing AU hello I love it.
I wonder how Shadowclan being more accepting of Dovewing makes a whole lot of sense! Like Shadowclan is already seen as "evil antagonist clan" so they'd understand Dovewing's plight in a way.
No one trusts Shadowclan to their past leaders and things going on and they gotten used to it.
Tigerheart being sympathetic especially for being a kin of Tigerstar and sharing the suffix.
I always wanted a raccoon to be adopted into the clans. Like imagine if Shadowsight was a raccoon! I know they're a badger in your AU but, IMAGINE!
Inter-species relationships and inter-species adoption! This is your AU however and you choose what happens in it. This is just my thoughts and my ADHD brain going, "OH DAMN THIS SHIT GOES HARD!!!!"
Would clan cats even like raccoons because they stand like twolegs and hold things like twolegs? Even washing their foods and hands before eating like twolegs? Maybe dunno. I love them anyways!
Tumblr media
I'm glad you really like the Badger!DoveWing au! There'd still definitely be some cats who are against DoveWing joining Shadowclan -Cough- BerryHeart -Cough-, but plenty of cats could relate to DoveWing's situation of not being trusted, including TigerHeart of course.
I do enjoy that idea of ShadowSight being a raccoon, though, I've mentioned in my bit of lore for the Guardians in this au that the group consists of Cats and Badgers in hopes of mending the relationship between the two species, so it also adds in some extra layer with TigerHeart and DoveWing adopting a badger cub and kittens, this gesture is what the Guardians see as another link in a chain of hope for the future between cat and badger.
I think the clan cats would be very. Disturbed by raccoons. They're like cats, but they can stand up and grab stuff like humans can and they can squeeze through crevices that not even the skinniest of Windclan warriors could wriggle through. The clan cats have seen warriors be trashed around by badgers and dogs and foxes alike, but they've never seen an animal full on grab a warrior by their neck or tail and swing them around like a stick. A meeting with a raccoon doesn't usually escalate into violence since raccoons don't actively seek out fights, but a cat will still definitely walk away with some kind of mental scarring.

As I figure out all the details in my tfp and rescue bots rewrite, I think I’m gonna test my writing by uploading chapters of TFP AU’s that I’ve been writing.
This one is heavily inspired by warrior cats.
———————————————————————————
“Long ago, our world used to be ruled by two dominant species. Humans and Ailurans. The two species of equal intelligence, battled for land.” They looked the same for the most part, almost making you wonder why they were deemed a different species. Other than their beliefs, the main difference was what the Ailurans could do. They're like werewolves,to a fault, though you could jokingly call them werecats. The Ailurans have a unique ability to shift into a feline form, looking like domestic house cats, but much bigger and stronger with the intelligence of a human.
Back to the conflict between the Humans and Ailurans. “Humans feared the Ailurans and their strength, concerned that their beliefs would lead them to attack. So the Humans attacked first, destroying their villages and breaking apart their clans. So the Ailurans retaliated, they raided Human settlements, killed their kind, and destroyed all they could. The two species fought for many generations, with the Ailurans having the upper hand thanks to their strength and senses.
Well, they had the upper hand till the humans discovered something. This something was devastating, almost like a plague spreading through the shifting species. If you weren't felled by the plague, then you were turned into mindless monsters. The plague changed the course of the war, driving the Ailurans to near extinction. Eventually the Ailurans became desperate enough, for survival, they agreed to a peace treaty.
Though there was still tension between the two races, and every now and then skirmishes would happen, they found true peace and were able to live together in harmony. Eventually most clans and tribes of Ailurans conjoined with those of the humans, and now we live together in harmony.”
“Bah, too sappy ending!” Her little cub stuck his tongue out, making a disgusted face.
June couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her lips. “Well it's a true story, I don’t control how it ends.'' Sure, most mothers would look upon her and frown, the story of her kind wasn't the most child friendly, but June learned these types of stories were the only ones Jack would actually listen to.
The youngling huffed, dramatically pouting as he did “where's dad?” he went back to the subject she tried to distract him from.
June hid her frown “He’s having to work a long night tonight.” she hoped.
Jack gave her a questioning look, but it was soon broken with a yawn. He stretched his limbs, showing off his more feline features.
June smiled at her little cub, knowing that she'd have to get his shifting under control soon. At such a young age, with his body still developing, it could lead to issues in the future if he stayed between forms like he is now.
She heard a knock at the front door.
June cupped her son’s little face “it's time for bed little one,” she gently kissed his forehead “Goodnight, my cub.”
Jack yawned again, snuggling closer to his mouse plushie “Night night momma.”
June smiled, pulling his blanket over his little body. She turned off his light, making sure his nightlight was still on, before quietly closing his door.
Finally she went to answer the front door.
It was eerily quiet. She stood in the center of a clearing, surrounded by all sorts of flora. Mostly green mixed with warm colors. The trees swayed in a wind she could not feel, and light shined from an ethereal source above. She knew it was night though, so either the young Ailuran was going crazy or was just simply dreaming, hopefully the latter. No scent hit her nose, and all the noise she could hear was her own heartbeat.
Suddenly the ground began to shift, whispers of an unknown language chanted beyond her sight. in front of her, the thick wall of greenery parted, showing her a path to a new area. Carefully she moved forward, her eyes darting, trying to spot any dangers. Thankfully it didn't seem like anything was there to attack, so with more confidence she picked her pace up to a trot.
The path, while windy, was short. The youngling arrived at a new clearing, a pond sat in the middle, with a rock wall allowing water to flow down it. The water was crystal clear, pebbles of all shapes and sizes lined the bottom, lily’s along with a few other floating plants, drifted at the top. Inside the pond, koi fish moved together in a graceful dance.
The youngling was so entranced by the fish, she didn't notice the large Ailuran observing her from the top of the rock wall. He was clearly bigger than her, his fur long and white. Sparkling as if he had stars within his coat. His eyes, though slightly judgemental, held a certain fondness in them.
“Miko” he gently called, trying not to spook the young Ailuran. She still jumped a little, but calmed down once she realized what he was.
“Yes?’ Miko called back, awed by his presence.
“Listen carefully youngling, his voice began to blend in with others, “for there is a prophecy that you need to fulfill.”
Miko’s heart skipped a beat. A prophecy, for her? It was rare for the clan of Ailurans to receive a prophecy, and when they did usually it was received by the leader and their healers, sometimes by fully grown warriors. It's been a long time since an apprentice, such as herself, received any important task from a Fallen.
Before she could speak, the Fallen continued on “this is a task of great importance, you may as be the future of our kind.” He observed her reaction.
With wide eyes, Miko asked “what? What do you mean? What is needed of me?”
The Fallen’s ears twitched “In time, you will come to understand what you will need to do, but you will have to figure out your task on your own.” He continued on, ignoring her confused look “your leader knows of this task, and agrees you are the perfect fit for this, when you wake, go and speak with her.” with his final words, the Fallen faded away.
Miko woke up with a start.
Blearily she looked around the dim room, her eyes still adjusting to the dark, the other apprentices still sound asleep in their bunks. Quietly, Miko stretched to awaken her sleeping muscles. Then she slipped out of the top bunk, silently landing on the floor, making sure to not awaken the apprentice that slept on the bottom. Thankfully Miko was best suited for stealth, even being able to slip by fully trained warriors unnoticed, not that she needs to. Once she left the bunkroom, Miko quickly entered the changing room, putting on clothes more suitable for a meeting with her leader. After fixing her hair, along with a few other things, she exited the Apprentice house.
She shifted into her larger feline form. She was slender, though you could clearly see muscle under black fur. Her coat shined with health, spiking back, giving her a sharp look. She quickly moved through her clan’s grounds, used to all the vegetation that hid the other house for the other classes. The biggest of the homes belonged to the warrior class, she could spot a few of the milling about despite how early it was. The sun wasn't even out. The more colorful of the homes was the nursery, their queens would stay with their cubs until they were old enough to become apprentices, and pregnant queens would move there once they were too pregnant to safely fulfill their duties. Miko could smell their milk from here. A little farther ahead was the elders home, where clan members would go once they were too old to fulfill their duties. Probably an apprentice's least favorite place in the clan. After that was the medicine den, medicine cats who were chosen by the Fallen would stay there, treating sick or injured clan members. Miko had many memories of this place. Finally she spotted the home where the leader and, if they had one, their mate would stay in. It was probably the most regal of the homes here.
Miko spotted a few warriors standing guard, amongst them was her mentor, who was heading towards her. He was bigger than most, his fluffy coat a lovely cream color, though streaks of white began to show. His light green eyes fixed on her.
“I’m surprised you're up this early,” He greeted her “is something up?”
“No,” she didn't know if she was allowed to share her dream “I just need to speak with Fallon.”
She could see the confused look in his eyes “you know apprentices can only speak with their leader when summoned,” there was a slight scolding tone to his voice, “if there's any issue you need to tell me, and I’ll deem if it's important enough to be brought up with her.”4
Before Miko could speak again, their leader exited her home. She was in her humanoid form, tidy as always.calmly she walked up to the two, a hint of a smile upon her face.
“Relax Isamu, she has been summoned” their leaders eyed the warrior “actually, I need both of you to follow me.” she turned around and quickly headed back inside her home.
Isamu gave Miko a questioning look before both of them followed their leader. The room they were greeted to, was a cozy meeting room of sorts, Fallon was already sitting in a plush looking seat. She motioned for them to sit, which they did, and she quickly explained to Isamu what was going on.
With that out of the way, Fallon began explaining what was going to happen to Miko “You are being sent to America.”
Miko’s heart froze. This had to be a joke, America was so far away! She barely paid attention as her Leader and Mentor began discussing the details of her trip, if it was a trip at all. Then, before she knew it, her leaders asked if she had any questions.
She had one “when will I be back?” Miko hesitantly asked.
Her leader gave her an unreadable look “it is unknown when you'll come back, if at all.” that practically confirmed her worst fears, is she being kicked out of the clan?
“What about her training? She’s close to earning her warrior title” Her mentor questioned, she had a feeling that he could read her fears.
Their leader simply shrugged “her training is up to her now, as for becoming a warrior that's for the Fallen to decide .
Then before Miko realized it, she was being sent to pack her bags.

More of my minecraft lore:
Illagers usually determine a suitable partner from the scars they have or battles they've fought. While some humans view scars as a nasty and unfortunate blemish that takes away from someone's attractiveness, Illagers see scars as beautiful and a sign the person is a survivor.
For many lower ranking Illagers, survival and toughness mean they will be better suited to defend their cubs from humans or rival clan attacks.
They live in the moment to. Illagers who do not have a high status are usually not going to fret about the future. For them the future is far from a certainty and thus they cherish the present as often as they can; not understanding why humans have such existential dread over what might happen. This has led some Illagers to believe humans can see into the future. Why else would their anxiety be so high?

Hello! I wanted to make an ask about a what-if that was floating around in my head for a while (like 2 days.)
The “what-if” being a scenario in which a cub appears in the little dawn au form the future. Only that the cub is not Wukong’s and Macaques, it’s trafficlights trio’s future cub. (They can be from an alternate universe in which MK stay’s in sundown au or from somewhere else.)
What would be everyone’s reaction to the future grandchild/child? Personally I think their personality would be a lot like young MK or Mei (maybe a bit like macaque seeing as they probably spend a lot of time with their grandma?) and that they would be really spoiled by their grandparents and pearents.
I see the child as a female and closer to a bull demon in appearance (cus ya know, their from the demon bull clan? They kinda have to be a bull to fit in?) but honestly it could be what ever you want. (Imagine if they had the face markings like Mk’s side of the fam? Or maybe their hair is black like Mei’s?!)
As for how the child even came to be, I would say that it was through some weird magic (maybe they inserted all their power into a stone? Blood rituals/magic???)
OMG, what if the child traveled back in time to meet their Maba (bama? Baba? Papa?) MK because for what ever reason something happed to MK and he can no longer be around! Maybe he was killed! Idk, at this point I’m rambling.
Sorry for the long ask. I originally didn’t know where to send this because there are like, two blogs making posts about sundown AU and I didn’t know who I should be sending this to (but because Xiaodan is from you fic “little dawn” I decided to send this to you.)
chapter 11 was a bomb (I just finished it before sending this) and if you want you can ignore this entire ask, just tell me if you do so I don’t end up expecting anything or smt (or don’t, you can do whatever you want.)
Thank you for reading this silly and kinda dumb rambling, I honestly don’t even remember what the original ask was but thank you for reading through all this. Have a lovely day or night filled with unending joy and kind thoughts. You are appreciated and I am so great full you took time out of your life to write your stories and read through this whole thing.
Bye bye 👋
Hello there! Don’t apologize about the length of l the ask. I love to see people getting excited over this amazing AU (belonging to peachshadows/terrible-leviathan, please don’t hold off on giving them some love they deserve the world for their creativity). To clarify, the Sundown Era is their creation while Little Dawn, a fluffier spin off the AU, was expanded on by me with the fic.
As for the scenario, I’d theorize that there would be a lot of chaos. If this is happened during the Little Dawn setting with MK already dropping into the world, SD!Shadowpeach would be thrilled at the idea of another cub/calf to spoil and look forward to - also cementing their time travel theory. SD!Ironbull would he similarly doting while also pushing for the wedding sooner. I mean, it’s obviously going to happen so why not sooner?
Red Son would be flustered and over the moon at the same time at the confirmation of a child and would do his best to “prove” his ability to childrear in front of MK. I feel like Mei would think the kid is cute but also be a little nervous? She’s not at the point in life where she’s ready for a kid. Would still spoil and play with the baby, though.
As for MK? He’s just worried that another universe is missing their kid. He’s stressed and worried for not one, but two babies that don’t belong. He would be flustered about the implications of the baby’s existence if he wasn’t already in a difficult position.
Thanks for this fun ask! And thank you for reading Little Dawn!
