Nook Colonies is a casual RP game that aims to help people who haven't roleplayed in a long time or have no experience at all. We don't have many restrictions and want everyone to feel comfortable! We want everyone to just have fun in this little story.

SERPENTINE PROMISE | Hidden in Plain Sight.

Serpentine Promise is a 16+ literate Horror / Slasher Warriors RP set on the coast of Belize in the heart of a meteor crater called the Cardinal. This RP takes heavy inspiration from the beautiful indigenous Mayan cultures of Belize for its worldbuilding.

You are part of three groups known as Arrows. You live in relative peace, guided by your Celestial Leaders in the skies above - the Jade Tiger, the Red Tiger, and the Gold Tiger. Centuries prior, these three leaders created the Arrows, but in doing so created something worse. The North Serpent wanted the crater for itself, and would only be satisfied when it ate the sun. The three tigers fought together against the serpent to the death.

In modern times, these Celestial Leaders are growing increasingly distraught, until they disappear one night and leave you with nothing but an omen … Cats around you begin to drop dead soon after. Your objective? Survive. Keep one eye open. Figure out which one of you is slaughtering cats by the dozen, or die trying.

Splintered off from CrimsonClan, CobaltClan lives at the base of the mountain on the rocky shore, going against everything the old establishment stands for. For almost their entire life CobaltClan has been at war with CrimsonClan, only just recently coming to a truce with them in the last moon when both leaders decided to abdicate.

The Wild Kingdom: Traditional, Honorable, & Proud

The Kingdom is just as ancient as CrimsonClan, if not more so. For eons they lived closed off from the world, with only the occasional outsider to join their ranks. Upcoming - Scorched Paws [March 1st]

Scorched Paws is an up and coming Warrior Cats inspired 18+ semi-literate Discord roleplay following two vastly different colonies of cats as they brave an incredibly harsh enviroment: the Desert.

Discover the Metal Scrappers, a colony that thrives in an abandoned junkyard humans left behind many seasons ago allowing the cats to improvise, adapt and overcome the many challenges the desert gave them. With the extra resources, they can now focus on building and inventing, indulging in a more secure style of life.

Or travel with the Wayfinders instead, a semi-nomadic group of cats who roam the corners of the desert to live on the water from wells found by their ancestors. They're hardened survivors, using every resource to its fullest, masters of weaving and using the stars and constellations to get to where they need to be.

Except... Not everything seems to be as it should. Something is changing. And cats can feel it under their paws.

We're looking to offer:

A welcoming community where anyone and everyone can feel safe no matter your identity, focusing on having a fun and engaging environment for folks to spend time in.

The Hunt - Basically a game of tag between warriors, while the younger cats and ones not participating celebrate in camp, dressing up in whatever they can find (think Halloween for cats) 

Windclan: 

New Moon gatherings, no work during the day and stay up all night to share-tongues with clanmates and the stars above. 

Wall paintings/carvings - Using paste and dye like materials to draw on the sturdy walls of camp, telling tales of the older times. 

Storytelling is a very important practice here

Winter Solstice (think gift giving and remembering their kin) 

Riverclan: 

Shell necklaces, each with a different accessory to show the personality of the cat and any endeavors they have been in.

LF: ADVICE ON RUNNING A WCRP ‼️

Hi, I’m Autumn. I’m looking for any and all advice in regards to hosting and creating a solid wcrp! I’ve tried multiple times in the past but they’ve all quickly lost steam; however, it’s something I still want to do and have last. I know some of this is based on pure luck but I also have reason to believe there’s a skillful side to it as well… wcrps in this community can last for years.

Most of my woes are around making an effective, inclusive, overarching plot and keeping players engaged. I have concepts in mind with ways to present them, but I need help with the long term.

Anyone can dm me about this, send me an ask, or reply to the post itself. Even if you’re just some guy who wants to point out specific features they like as a player. I will appreciate anyone who does :-) thanks!

Here’s an excerpt from the timeline detailing the scene,

Willow’s condition worsens, and she finds herself barely able to stand up or move without collapsing. She is unfit to lead the group, however almost everyone doesn’t want to admit it. Rowan does it for them, suggesting appointing a new leader. Thistle, being Willow’s best friend, does not take this lightly and attacks her. This leads to an aggravated fight, which is separated by Hop.

Rowan is furious, losing her patience. In an attempt to prove a point, she poisons Willow with yew berries, and she dies. However, Rowan didn’t account for a paranoid Thistle to be supervising her, seeing the aftermath of the murder. In pure rage, Thistle drags Rowan out to the middle of camp. The commotion woke up most of the group, who watched as Thistle announced Rowan killed Willow. Rowan argued it was the only way to make Thistle listen, and that Willow would’ve died more painfully without the poison. Primrose, Falcon, Moth, Dandelion, Hop, Spark, Night, Mist, Light and Shiver all side with Thistle, being the majority. The cats who support Rowan, Glide, Dash, Wasp, Leaf and Fox, are all driven out of the group’s territory, retreating to a cave on the face of a cliff to hide from Thistle’s wrath. Thistle takes the role of leader immediately.

FOG ON BRIGHTER DAYS is an 18+ (sfw) WCRP hosted on Discord, following a group of cats as they found a clan from the ground-up and face the wilderness (and weirdness) around them. The story takes place in a fictionalized setting inspired by the Cape Cod coast. With lore influenced by maritime legend and sailor myths, we aim for a somewhat moody and mysterious world environment— with a groovy 60s twist.

Picture it... 1915 Verdun, France

The world is changing faster then any previous generation has ever experiences and there is one culprit: men.

Cats bring stories of battles that last moons straight due to both sides never retreating. House cats have their keepers leave in droves, never to return again. The silverpath is destroyed and it's been moons since the Thundersnake that once traveled it has been seen. So many animals are dying or disabled in horrific ways. The cats of Verdun have been spared from much of it, but, it doesn't seem like that will last for long.

How can they survive this? Will the warrior code and faith keep them safe, like it has for as long as they can remember? Do they need to change, just as the times have? Should they reject everything they once knew and try something revolutionary? Whatever plan they decide to take will have supporters and opposition. They just need to figure out what will work and soon.

Warrior Cats: Verdun is an 18+ historical fiction Warrior Cats Roleplay. It looks to tackle the meaninglessness of violence in a setting that is built around it all while highlighting the importance of ethnicity, culture, and the relationships built between cats and people. Factions are allowed to change and evolve over time restructuring, growing, forming, and dissolving all according to roleplayers' actions. There's also a priority for realism, having a real time progress system and removed fantasy elements, and historical accuracy.

Will you take part in the blood fued between Crowclan and Owlclan? Will you explore the wilds as a cat whose keeper has gone missing? Will you try to to stop the feuds, knowing what's coming over the horizon?

The Wayfinders

Resilience, Community, Adaptability

Quite the hardy colony of cats, the Wayfinders have mastered the art of travelling around the desert using the stars and constellations in the night sky to guide their path and survive the harsh environment they live in. Because of this, the colony is incredibly tight-knit and community focused, striving to work together as one to make it through their hardships.

Their information was quite a lot to fit into a single post, so more about them will be expanded upon in our website!

Resourceful to their core, this colony has long thrived with their skills to make the best use out of absolutely everything they ever need, leaving nothing to waste. Through generations they’ve travelled between 3 water wells in the desert to provide for themselves, journeying between treacherous routes to reach their lifeline. The most important one is called the Polaris Well, named by their founder, and the biggest of the trio. When moving, the Wayfinders make their way to the Little Sprout Well, notably the greenest of the three. The journey after that leads them to the Sharp Point Well, named because of the tall, pointy rock that serves as a landmark to find its location, as well as a warning to what lies ahead - the most dangerous travel, back to their main well.

Because of their highly dangerous way of life, the Wayfinders have their ranks organized and well defined to make sure everything is in order and that they can pull themselves together through thick and thin no matter the situation.

Northern Star: The colony’s Leader, the one responsible for guiding the group in their journeys and keeping the cats safe during their travels. They’re responsible for holding ceremonies, giving cats their names as they age in life and being a pillar of stability and security.

Navigators: The two cats serve as the Northern Star’s left and right paw. They work to help make sure the leader can handle all their duties, becoming a figure of secondary authority under the leader. The next Northern Star is picked from one of them.

Elders: A small part of the group, if any at all. It’s not a secret that living the way they do is full of dangers and living to old age is a great feat. They’re seen as part of leadership, even if that’s somewhat unofficial. Cats who have lived the longest know the most, and knowledge is power.

Scouts: Cats with amazing navigation skills, working to look out for any danger the group might stumble into when travelling. They’re tasked with going ahead of the group and bringing back news of anything important. Despite being their own role, they’re also responsible for hunting for the group.

Hunters: The majority of the colony. Cats are trained to hunt and fight for the safety of the group as well as their own. All Wayfinder cats are taught how to navigate, since getting lost and separating from the group is a very real and likely danger.

Tenders: The healers and monarchs of the colony, Tenders are responsible for caring for the health and well-being of other cats. They’re fully trained in all the ways of healing and all sorts of illnesses and issues, especially when it comes to herbs as they won’t always be available.

Trainees: The younger cats, having reached the age of 6 moons and starting their training officially.

Kits: Cats under 6 moons old.

An unofficial sub-role in the colony are the Weavers - Hunters who dedicate most of their time practicing the weaving skills the group has perfected over generations. Cats who are skilled weavers are very valuable to the Wayfinders, as most of their resources are stored in woven bags when travelling as well as making their settlement camps.

Because of their semi-nomadic lifestyle, the Wayfinders have developed many customs and routines they follow to optimize their life and general survival. One example of this is how careful and well planned they are when it comes to cats expanding their families - pregnancies are no joke, therefore being taken extremely seriously. It’s become a tradition to time one’s pregnancy to make sure the kits will be born when the Wayfinders are settled in one of the wells, as moving newborn kits would certainly spell doom.

Another custom they have stems from making the best of their time when settling down in their wells, having little celebrations known as the Welcoming, as well as send-offs to wish for a good journey when leaving, known as the Farewell. Nothing is forever, and Wayfinders know this better than most. From the happiest of occasions to the most grim, they still find time to show their respect to the desert that sustains them.

As such, these desert dwelling cats value caution and strategy over any show of bravery. They believe that slow and steady wins the race, any and all progress being valued no matter the speed, considering one overconfident step may mean the death of one or more cats.

Their faith is firmly placed upon the stars, the guiding force of their livelihood and survival, believing that those who’ve died become Starwalkers, spirits free to wander the sky. Their funerals vary depending on where they might be when a cat passes away but they generally do their best to put some form of marker or reminder in the location, both as a grave to visit or a warning to remember.

Standard / Common Appearance:

Wayfinders are almost always red or cinnamon, most of them having the dilute or caramel dilute gene, helping their colors blend into the desert landscape to give them the camouflage they need when hunting. Chocolate and its variants can also be found, but not as much as the red and cinnamon counterparts. Black cats are rarely seen in their ranks.

Tabby patterns like agouti, ticked, spotted and classic/broken mackerel are quite prominent, though other tabbies like classic are also present to a degree. Not many Wayfinder cats are solid, due to most of them being some form of red, but still possible due to the presence of cinnamon and chocolate pelts.

Because of the disadvantage it gives them in the desert, white spotting is always some level of little to no white at all. Still, markings like mitts/socks, tail tips and chest spots are common. It’d be impossible for a fully white cat to be born of the Wayfidners, meaning the only way for the colony to have a fully white cat is by taking in an outsider.

Their fur is short and well adapted to keep them cool while also protecting them from the beating sun, with the fur between their toes and under their paws being considerably longer to provide protection from searing hot ground.
