Why is the eah tag flopping so hard rn. Like genuinely in the past week the highest post has had like what? Sixty notes?! And the majority of the posts are getting under ten notes. shipping in ever after high is really so much fun honestly it's just like being inside of a build-a-bear.

it's like ik these people have spoken maybe 3 words to each other maximum and never have scenes outside of group settings but those 3 words made me feel like they'd have really good chemistry so.

like there's 2 characters who have literally ZERO scenes together but who the fuck cares because 1. their vibes match 2. they look cool together and 3. it would be REALLY fucking funny.

and the funniest part is that people make it work so well??? you see the most crack, ridiculous, unfathomable ship ever and you think haha wow wonder how this would work and the person shipping them pulls out a 22 point powerpoint and an illustrated show bible and goes "well i'm glad you asked-"

they just??? end up working??? and it's so funny???

also then there's also like the ships which are basically considered canon even though the show hasn't explicitly confirmed most of them. like dw eah you don't have to worry about anything we've got the message (we have not got the message we have severely misinterpreted the message but who is caring bye).

funniest examples is probably how im assuming briar is meant to be sort of shipped with hopper (for lack of another male character she really interacts with in that sense yk) but you can't expect me to look at epic winter and her friendship with apple and not IMMEDIATELY think she'd be perfect with either faybelle or apple. (i am a bribelle shipper i must admit <3)

and ik it ended up being a part of her character and story and arc and all later on but i just LOVE that apple had more chemistry with literally any of her female friends (special shout out to raven) than she ever did with her boyfriend.

regardless just love eah ships in general because i find them WILDLY entertaining and i enjoy hearing people talk about why they love a ship.

- When Pied Piper returned the kids to their parents (no, he didn't drown them, c'mon Eah show isn't that dark) he noticed a kid in the group who didn't ran to none of the adults in the village and no parents who ever sought her out.

That child was Melody, and seeing she had no parents and home, the Pied Piper adopted her

- Cheshire Cat created Kitty. Like she literally took a part of herself and molded it into a baby Kitty. How's that possible? To make herself disappear and reappear, the Cheshire Cat is made of smokey and pooffy stuff inside so if she wants a kid, she can easily just pluck off some of the smoke stuff from her arm or leg etc. It doesn't hurt in case you're wondering

- The Huntsman (Hunter's dad) and Red (Cerise's mom) were childhood, and the Huntsman was in love with her

It's was one-sided and Red was oblivious to his feelings and The Huntsman never had the courage to tell her how he truly felt...so you would get this teenage boy get all shy saying stuff like - "Wowza Red...funny to think how i'm technically ur Prince Charming...👉👈 saving u from the Big bad wolf....very fuunnyy riiight? haahahaa"

- Like it was shown in Class of Classics, King Charming was similar to Dexter at the start, but with the pressure to be a perfect Prince Charming, mixed in with his own insecurities and wanting not to fail his own destiny, he started to become the worst version of himself, but because he alligned with the rules of how a Pince Charming should be, many weren't that bothered by it, outside of Pinnochio and Goldie who knew the real him.

- Red and EQ were those friends who since highschool had plans of their kids also being friends like they are, but then EQ got trapped in the mirror realm and so there were no playdates between Raven and Cerise.

After Red learned Cerise had befriended Raven, she felt happy. (EQ learned about their friendship either through the mirrors or after she got broken out of the realm)

EAH Glee AU

I do not have time right now to work on my actual writing- midterms are done so now we're just jumping right into final papers- but have an AU outline post.

Professor Pied Piper, taking inspiration from some of his best high school memories, gets Headmaster Grimm to reinstate the school glee club.

Meanwhile, Madame Baba Yaga fears the new activity will steal away talent from her prize cheer-hexing team, the Ever After High Cheerios (I can’t think of a good fairytale-ification for this, I will accept suggestions). To rectify this situation, she sends in three of her girls undercover with the goal of sabotaging the glee club.

Basically, Pied Piper is Will Schuester, Baba Yaga is Sue Sylvester, and chaos ensues.

Glee Club Members:

Apple White: She joined because 1) she's good at singing 2) she genuinely enjoys singing 3) her mom was in the Glee Club and led them to winning Nationals. I'd say she's the Rachel Berry or the Quinn Fabray, but I'm not gonna do that thing where I entirely change a character's personality to make them fit into the role of another character...for the students anyway. Look, Apple's got enough drama in her life, she doesn't need me making her crazy enough to send someone to a crack house out of jealousy.

Raven: Uh, in the books Headmaster Grimm won't let her take Muse-ic because it's not an evil class. Luckily, because of a bizarre loophole in the school guidelines for competitive teams, Headmaster Grimm can't ban her from Glee Club. Everyone say thank you Giles.

Daring: He joined because he was told it would give him extra credit for the serenading skills portion of Advanced Wooing. Also, Apple asked him to join because they didn't have enough boys in the club and Daring's been trained to never ignore a request from a damsel.

Dexter: He’s there cause Raven’s there? And also cause he is a genuinely great singer and unlike Daring needs the Advanced Wooing extra credit? Also, I just kinda want him there.

Darling: Her mom made her join. Queen Charming really said “I’m gonna take a page from Snow White’s book and live vicariously through you, offspring of mine”.

Briar: She really likes the idea of a team competition where she won’t put her teammates in danger if she falls asleep. Also, she checked the competition rulebook, as long as they don’t all leave the stage when she has a narcoleptic episode they won’t be disqualified.

Humphrey: Every Glee AU needs a white-boy-who raps and Ever After High has one already built-in in the form of Humphrey Dumpty.

Maddie: She’s there cause Raven’s there. It’s utterly hattastic!

Kitty: She’s there because she remembered her mom talking about how some of her fondest memories of high school revolves around messing with the glee club, and Kitty wants dearly to be like her mother.

Lizzie: We’re completing the Wonderland ensemble. Lizzie joins because she needs an extra curricular and the Invisible Tree Situation has gotten so out of hand they had to disband the croquet team. Great voice, ngl.

Justine: Not the strongest singer in the room, but she’s capable of choreographing numbers like nobody’s business.

Meeshell: Listen, canon’s pretending her singing in that webisode was something amazing. So like, we’re pretending now too.

Duchess: I picture her as a Sugar Motta-type character. Cannot sing, massive diva, but they gotta put up with her cause her family’s donating to the club budget.

Melody: Listen, it’s her dad’s club. She can’t just not join. She’s banking those supportive daughter points for a rainy day.

Lawrence Bonecrusher III: Listen, I just it'd be funny if Professor Piper says the ever-insane "You're all minorities, you're in the glee club" line and there's the one orc student in the school just sitting there with his eyebrow raised. He's also the Matt of this AU. For some reason never speaks when in a scene.

Faybelle: Captain of the Cheerios, totally not here as part of a scheme by Madame Yaga to DESTROY THE GLEE CLUB!!!!

Nah, but seriously, this whole AU was born of me going "What EAH character would say the iconic 'I'm a closeted lesbian and a judgemental bitch' line?" and her face popped into my mind.

(Seriously everything eah you’ve made so far feels so canon plausible it’s hard to believe, are you planning to make a career out of these skills/have one? You’d do amazing)

Onto a very generic question I would not be surprised might already be sitting in your inbox.

I am aware that your current project is to continue on ever after high with all the cannon (mostly the cartoon I think, but I can assume the books count too? And maybe doll boxes/diaries? It’s a lot).

If there was one subject you would want to rewrite or remove from canon entirely, what would it be (challenge would be to not name the disaster that is epic winter).

And on a lighter note, favorite/stuck-on-repeat part of the series (I’m sorry this ask is so long, Idnk how to shorten things)?

omg no this isn’t too long at all i’m actually so thrilled to be given something this long to look at!

for starters, in terms of continuing ever after high, my thing is that i want to follow the show canon above all, but i do want to conclude a lot of the stuff touched on in external media such as books and dairies etc. though in doing so i’m not going to treat anything that doesn’t come straight from the show as something to abide by completely. because the show and the books and what not have inconsistencies in numerous ways, such as defining what a royal/rebel is, or characterization, or even the novelizations of the specials having alternate tellings of the stories. i don’t even want to really necessarily change anything mentioned in the books when adapting it so much as ADD to the information provided in ways that aid the story in which i aim to tell.

i.e. the evil queen turning raven’s puppy Prince into a bone rat. what about Nevermore? where was she? WHEN was she? well i think the evil queen could have perhaps, upon feeling remorse, secretly gone and sought out a dragon for raven, and brought Nevermore home without telling raven it was her doing, so that she would have a new pet companion.

anywho, as for your actual questions, for the first one, i’m probably gonna have to go with the whole sequence in Way Too Wonderland when they’re going from class to class. see, when i first watched it, i got this feeling they were going to go from class to class and in each one a different girl in the group would demonstrate their strong point in solving how to pass the class.

if not that, i think i’d change who got to go and do the whole storybook page thing in Thronecoming. i think it should have just been the core four + ashlynn there, really. and less of them could have opened the door for more time getting to see briar seeing what raven’s point of view is like when faced with the reality of her story.

on a more basic note i’d just go back and make sure everyone were not introduced to from the start is actually there. at least, there for Legacy Day. they don’t have to talk or do anything, it would just be nice to know they were THERE.

anywho, in regards to your other question, that’s a tough one. i mean, i have a few. basic answer is raven’s Legacy Day declaration. it’s just iconic and a real powerful moment that shapes the narrative. i love it. there’s also pretty much all of briar’s scenes in Thronecoming. (and obviously her snapping at apple moment. that shit’s too funny.)

BUT also when raven signs the real book in Way Too Wonderland and gets that dark magic power up. i’m a sucker for fight scenes and especially ones with extra narrative weight, so i always appreciated that one + the aftermath of it. and when apple declares raven as a hero. it’s great.

My unpopular opinion about this character

i need people to stop making him fuck marines. there is only one marine that he would fuck and it's not drake or smoker. stop doing that to him. also he's not a bratty whore he's a guy that's on edge because he hasn't been able to cum for 6 months straight because of the antidepressants he's on

As of lately I’ve seen a lot of people theorizing that in EAH, when someone completes their destiny, it either completely strips them of their original birth names or they loose the memories attached to said name. And I would like to possibly debunk this theory cause there is evidence against it.

I’ve brought up in the past that I’m of the belief that the famous storybook names the parents are known for (example: Snow White, Red Riding Hood, The Cheshire Cat, ect.) are actually just titles that acknowledge them as the people that lived the stories and emphasizes their fame as iconic storybook characters. I believe that just like their kids they have regular (albeit punny) first names that they were given by their parents, and even when they carry this title of the character they are, they still go by their given names in casual situations.

What do I mean by “casual”? Well, take a look at just about every interaction the parents have both in the books and the show. The parents for pretty much all of the franchise, the interactions we see them have are familial or profesional. By familial, I obviously mean the interactions they have with their children, who as we can expect, adress them as “mom/dad”. By professional, I’m talking about the moments when they are addressed by characters like the narrators or the school staff. These are the characters who address them by their storybook characters titles. And it makes sense for characters like these to address the parents in such a profesional way. Since the narrators tell the stories, it makes sense they address them by the names they are well known and respected by. As for the school staff, aside from respect, they literally run a school dedicated to making sure everyone plays the roles they are assigned, and also its not as if any of them developed a close relationship with any teacher outaide of professionalism.

What I’m trying to say is the parents don’t really ever get an opportunity to interact casually or in a friendly way with anyone. In fact, we barely get to see the parents interact with each other at all. The few times they do interact, the interactions aren’t what you’d call a friendship. Like, I’d like to assume that many parents have friendships with each other that date back to their school years, where they occasionally catch up as adults, and THATS the kind of interaction where they’d refer to each other by their first names, but we never get any interactions to show that. The few we get show relationships of professionalism or rivalry. I mean, Snow White and The Evil Queen despise each other obviously, and in Fairy’s Got Talent, we see a few interactions between the Dark Fairy and the Candy Witch but it feels more like a respectful  acquaintanceship rather than a friendship. And even then, when referring to each other they call each other “comrades”, not “friends”. See, while I’m sure they do exist in the EAH universe, we never get to see a duo of parents who have that sort of “we became friends in high school, and now we have separate lives but we catch up over wine occasionally” type of friendship. All and all, this means that the main reason most of the parents dont get a confirmed first name in canon is because we get almost no chance to have an interaction where the character is addressed as such.

Notice how I said “most”. Cause here is where I drop the piece of evidence that debunks the “destiny strips one of their original identity” theory. We actually do get a parent character with a canon first name that isnt their fairytale character title, and that would be Meeshell’s mom, the Little Mermaid, whos first name is Pearl. So there you have it, as funny as it is to joke about the possibility of say, Hunter’s Dad’s name being “The”, or Briar’s Mom’s name being “Sleeping”, I HIGHLY doubt thats the case.

2. Which G3 character (new or rebooted) is your favorite?

omg number one is definitely frankie! them being canonically nonbinary and sapphic is SO important to me as a nonbinary lesbian! they are also just silly and fun !!!<-- i also just relate to them a lot in general. i also really love cleo in this gen i think shes so funny, also twyla is super cute and canonically autistic which is fucking awesome!

5. Is there a line or idea for a line that you'd like to see in a G3 release?

ough this is a hard one!! i'd actually love to see more interactive stuff, like the ghoul's alive dolls or playsets like lagoona's hydration station or astranova's floating doll!!! OR THE CREATE A MONSTER DOLLS!!!!!! especially since this gen is doing more with the doll's body types, having a doll you could customize would be so so cool. even if it was a preexisting character doll that had like color changing hair or you could color on them or something!!

14. You have been given the chance to design the G3 version of one G1-introduced character. Who do you choose?

another hard one!! i would love to see cupid come back honestly!! sorry i just took like an hour to draw this:

i think g3 would be good to explore the fact that she was adopted by cupid and was born a bone elemental, and explore how her powers of love with the bow work!! she'd obviously still have her radio show, maybe it would be like a podcast/ she'd focus in music or something!! and it could be interesting if while shes invested in everyones love life, she could be aromantic or just not interested in something like that for herself!!

this design is kind of all over the place (mostly the clothes!!!) but i tried to mix eah and monster high. i do like the idea that her wings are both bone AND feathered and that u can see her bones through her skin:) and she would def come with a radio and bow and arrow. she'd probably have a box of valentines chocolate too ! i dont know!! but yeah heres a rushed take ^^''

i like his design as descole more, but i think he's way more interesting personality wise when he's just desmond (that's probably just because we technically get more of desmond.. i think?). both of him are fun to draw thought, even if i've only drawn him... three times iirc. his theme is also good, i know that because i listened to the ost finally

i think it's awesome how fucking unfunny he is, that's so awesome. i didn't get any of the jokes he made, it took me so long to figure out and it wasn't even worth it! awesome character trait. i fucking love the fact that he's so unfunny to completely ruin a man who's been nonstop laughing for however long it's so great. i like a lot of the friendships he had in al, they were all really fun- i am thinking about him and umid a bit recently, i think they should be friends.. i also love the gag with amanita and the guy who constantly gets his name wrong. i like when this man mildly suffers, it is Funny. his facial expressions are also really good

Not really, I don't have enough interest in them anymore (but back in 2016 I created one with a friend that involved anime and werewolves. It’s not posted, don’t ask)

Unfortunately not yet :(( there have been some talks with some writers about the idea but it never happens, and it's unfortunate because I loooove sharing ideas and working together creatively (Koku can agree with me on this, we've created so many things this year)

I have a bunch of them that I cherish with my whole heart but if there’s one that hits all my checkmarks it's Joel/Tess, their ambiguous nature has always been fitting for them and it works wonders to fill in the blanks, and also I've loved them since the beginning lols I'm never making it out of this hell

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Shaking and crying I think it's ALL the multichapter fics I have planned but have no clue how to keep writing 💔💔 in any case it would be Fourth of July (canon divergence au where Ellie is Tess and Joel’s bio kid, she leaves and they reunite when she gets bitten then reconcile in the canon journey)

Maybe that I have versatility? I think I can write about many things and topics efficiently, characterization and that I employ poetry often... I think

Would it be wrong to say everything 😭 but joking aside it's definitely dialogue, plot heavy writing and certain genres (action and suspense mostly)

And with that I've finished the first book (well for the millionth time I reread these so many times as a kid) the plot is honestly better than what the show did also Apple is way more fucked up and I love it. It's really 2013 though in a way that now makes me cringe. Also it handles the royals vs rebels thing better tbh, like it's a lot clearer who's on what side and the division is much stronger. Maddie is adorable as always, the Bella Sisters plot is like rly good I mean Apple and Raven spend a bit too long going to the cave but I think it's a way more effective plot for showing how little is known about destinies and also how manipulative Grimm is and did a way better job than the show at convincing me that Raven and Apple could be friends. Also the diversity is cool and the book does a better job at acknowledging the original fairytales than the show. Obviously I love the show and the book and there are reasons why each do certain things however I think the book is way more effective and (possibly obviously considering the focus of fairytales) honestly a better medium for this kind of story (plus the book isn't as held back by the need to be doll advertisements and quite so kid friendly).

Remembered I brought the eah books with me to uni (idk why I did that) and now I'm rereading them and shall be giving commentary on them (to avoid spam I'll compile notes so I'm not reblogging this with every individual thought but instead groups)

love her so much. you have no idea. i think she’s one of the most realistically flawed characters of the eah universe; she can’t control her temper sometimes which i can totally relate to. she’s funny, sarcastic…idk i love her a lot

oh gee. i haven’t talked about it much on here but i have this whole thing about dexter being in a relationship with hunter AND raven, but raven and hunter being queer platonic partners??? it’s a little complicated but yeah :) also i’m like the farthest thing away from a rapple/poison apple shipper, but i think that raven and apple just like idk cuddling and comforting each other and stuff in a platonic way is super cute as well!

i don’t know man are there unpopular opinions about raven? i kinda feel like she called apple selfish because it was one of her insecurities. she really doesn’t want to be seen as selfish or greedy or anything because it’ll make her feel like her mom. i don’t know if she actually thought apple was being selfish or if she just wanted to deflect people calling HER selfish. does that even make sense is it even an opinion i don’t know i’m sorry

one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

so this again is an oddly specific headcanon that i’ll probably write someday but. i wish that raven had hated her name. i wish that she would have seen it as evil and hated that her mom chose it. and i wish that there would have been somebody to call her something else, or at least help her reclaim her name. again don’t know if this is coherent but!

Let’s talk about That Scene from Ember Island Players

Yeah, you know the one. The one where the play insinuates that Zuko and Katara are together. I’ve seen arguments about how Zuko’s choice to sit next to Katara is just to cause a divide, or a speed bump, in Katara and Aang’s relationship. It’s seen by Kataang (which, like, no hate because I honestly think Kataang is so sweet a pure and :,)) shippers as a necessary complication after Katara and Aang’s kiss on Day of the Black Sun. To be fair... it is, but it’s so much more than that.

During this episode, Zuko has just won Katara’s trust. They’re not just allys, they’re friends. Zuko, who has only ever experienced a relationship with Mai (Yes, Jin, but that was a date, not a relationship), and is bad at showing his feelings. Mai is unemotional. She displays affection physically (seen by her kissing him in front of Azula, wrapping herself around him whenever she can, and that whole scene in her living room). Zuko going to sit next to Katara is him showing affection. Could this be just friendly affection? Yes 100%. However, I (obviously) think it’s more than that.

Okay, we all LOVE this gif. Both Kataang and Zutara shippers alike enjoy this gif is adorable, and funny, and realistic. You ever been sitting next to a friend and someone insinuates a relationship? It’s so uncomfortable! Even if you do feel something for them, it’s nervewracking to let others know your heart. But that’s not what I like about this gif.

It’s the way they both glance at each other before pulling away. They don’t gag, they don’t immediately pull away from eah other, and they are sitting pretty close. Like not like Sokka and Suki (my sukka heart lol), but still there is clearly enough room for them to pull that far apart, so they were intentially sitting close to each other. The way they both glance as if to ask, “I wonder what (he)(she) thinks?” 

Upon seeing the eye contact, they pull away. It’s an “Oh shit, they noticed me” moment. If there was truly nothing there, they’d look, laugh awkwardly, and go back to watching, but that’s not what happens. They pull away, a raid of their own feelings, or maybe they’re still processing them, but that isn’t a “no I don’t want it” it’s a “I don’t know how to have it”

Zutara isn’t endgame. It isn’t canon. I get it. But it really should have been.

After watching the episode a few more times and reading the lastest gossip about the finale. I do have some opinions on the matter. Some of you may agree and some may not. These are my opinions and thoughts. 

Given all that has happened this year I am grateful that they filmed anything. They risked their health and the health of their familes, to get us the finale. I appreciate that. However, there is clearly somethings that were amiss. 

First, Dean. (a.)At first I was just completely hurt about his death. I was so mad that he was killed by rebar because of a lame ass vampire. I get the angle that they were going for with it. Now that Chuck isn’t writing their lives anymore, they don’t have plot armour anymore. Basic shit can hurt them now. Just like when the didn’t have any “luck”, regular people shit happened to them. So, if you fight in a barn around random ass rebar sticking out, you’re bound to get hurt. 

(b.)Social Media. I get on Twitter and Supernatural is trending. But, not because of high praise. No. It was because a lot of the fandom felt cheated by the finale. Which is how i felt at the time.Then that Jensen did not like the ending. That he thought that the ending was going to be different than what we got. Granted that they couldn’t go full out because of the virus. If I am correct, Jensen said that they would go out “Butch and the Sundance Kid” style. Plus they edited so much of the episode “Despair” that him and Misha felt that the charaters were cheated. Also Jo (Alona Tol) and Ellen (Samatha Ferris) Harvelle were not asked back. Which I thought was strange. 

(c.) What happened to all of Dean’s earthly possessions?

Seceond, Sam. (a.)Sam’s life. I am glad that Sam got to live a long life and have the family that he always wanted. I know that because of the pandemic we couldn’t shoot everyone together. That being said, Did Sam marry Eileen? We don’t see or hear from her. The only glimpse of his wife is on the porch and its so far away we can’t tell who it is. Also in Sam’s montage, we see a lot of pictures inside his house. But not one of his wife. It just seems rushed is all. 

(b.)Sam’s aging. I am not okay with the wig that they had Jared wear. It looked like a Party City wig. Again, rushed production. But, I do forgive them for a shirtless Sam/Jared. THANK YOU!

(c.)Sam’s heaven. This may go into the plotholes area. When Sam goes to heaven will he see Jess again? Jess was the love of his life and he said that he still thinks about her.

Third, Castiel. (a.) Misha Collins did a amazing job as Castiel. His performance in “Despair” really broke me. That being said, Cas deserved better than the show gave him. A few mentions in the last episode. But no one is really talking about the fact that Cas confessed his love for Dean and it was completely ignored. We just know that Jack got Cas out the Empty and they both made a new heaven for Dean. Does Cas and Dean ever see eah other?

(b.)Destiel/CasDean. DESTIEL BECAME CANON! This was a huge thing for the SPN fandom. People who have never watched the show were interested by this. This made 2020 a little more enjoyable. Now, I know that there are some that are against Destiel. That is your right and opinion. However, it is now plain to see that Cas has always had the feelings toward Dean. And they are not on a platonic level. There has been years of evidence to this. Sam and Cas’s relationship is not the same as his and Dean’s. Naomi programmed Cas to kil Dean but couldn’t once the time came. From angel to demon, Devil and God has all said at one point or another that Castiel was in love wth Dean.. Whenever Cas died on the show, Dean spirals out of control. He always tries to find something else to get his mind off the fact that Cas is gone. Does Dean feel the same for Cas? I’m not sure, but I lean more to that he does. I have always believed that Dean was Bisexual. He’s been seen checking out men on the show. I just wsh that they would at least acknowledged it. 

Fourth, Plotholes.(a) There are so many plotholes after the finale that I need answers to. I have too many to put on here. I will put those in a different post. 

For what the finale was, I liked it. It did fall a little flat, but if I just focus on the fact that they both got the ending they deserved.
