​yeah like, I mean YES, big time.

but also like, as a capital letters fine artist or whatever I’ve always found that the biggest thing other that having friends who get your work and will tell you if they think you aren’t hitting the nail on the head, and who will work with you through it till you have the best art you can make in the moment, is having a stranger see/experience your art and understand it and love it. and if they want to buy it and have it in their house it’s a very special feeling.

but in the way we used to do things you don’t need a 100 000 people to look at your work for that to happen, ypu just need the right handful of people to see it.

so like I don’t recommend taking advice on how to get an audience from a tiktoker or someone that has a bunch of really fancy shit in their studio or whatever because to get that kind of money on tiktok you have to be creating content constantly and like…the attention won’t be on the art you’re trying to make, it will be on the cool studio you have and what brand of marker you’re using and product product product…and look this is absolutely not a critique of those people but if you’re making art because you want someone to pick it up and hold it in their hands and treat it like it means so much that you said something that resonates so deeply with them…I think you need to be thinking ‘how do I get to a place where the right people can see my art in person or just…that that person will see my work…’ because the answer may not be on the internet with a bunch of followers, it might be through a local artist run initiative in your city or a zine distro or any number of other local, artist run spaces where people can look at your work in person

i'm still thinking about that post i reblogged earlier about art and wanting attention/connection and i really do think, personally, that having three friends who genuinely love your art and will tell you details they like is more meaningful and desirable than 100,000 followers who interact silently. if im confident in my art now, it's because i was lucky enough to have small groups of friends who encouraged me and helped me get there when i was mega-demoralized in my art

I got my copy of the @culinarycrucible zine in!!

It's so amazing to finally have everything in my hands and see everyone's hard work and love come to fruition! Everything is such great quality I'm so impressed and in love. I'm a fool and honestly didn't realize the book was going to be so thick lmao but there's so much gorgeous art and fantastic writing and delicious recipes 💕✨

I'm excited to figure out where I'm going to put everything for display- but of course that gorgeous apron is going in the kitchen 👏

we can finally post our pieces for @huntlowfanzine!!! this project was so much fun. i was the beta reader mod, i wrote a fic, and i drew spot art for several people's fics/poems. thank you SO MUCH to @skeptical-rainbows for drawing such beautiful spot art for my fic!!! 💚💛

Was super jazzed to participate in the @opmetgalazine doing some little cute downloadable note/memo paper designs, it was a super fun project to work on and it came out SO nicely. Each sheet (with the exception of novas) had one larger and one smaller drawing that featured SWORD, X Guild, RA, Marines, and the Supernovas.

Hey everyone. I wanted to share this here as well. The Psych Survivor Archive is looking for anyone who wants to share their story and have it anonymously published on the website, in order to create a collection of our experiences navigating the psych system. Your responses will be anonymous and can be as detailed or vague as you want. On the website, there are prompts, but you can feel free to share in whatever format makes sense to you.

This is a more informal way to participate in the Psych Survivor Archive if you are not interested in creating art for the zine, but still want your story to be heard and validated.

For me, it has felt very cathartic to write out my story, on my terms, in the way that I want to be known. I hope that the archive can offer that space to other psych survivors as well, and I can't wait to keep developing this project and offering even more. In the next couple weeks, submissions will open up for the second edition of the zine, so if you're interested in submitting creative art or writing keep an eye out!

New Trolls Zine Interest Check

In light of finding put that there was a Trolls zine (I think about Broppy specifically?) circulating on Twitter/X, I’m beginning preparations for a new zine focused on folks here on Tumblr. I was disappointed to find out about it after their applications were closed and I wasn’t able to participate and I know I’m not alone. If you are in any way interested to see this zine get off the ground, please reblog so others don’t find out too late like I did!

I don’t have a name picked out yet but the theme I’m proposing is: relationships (i.e. family, friends, romance, even pets). I wanted a theme that could allow for characters and dynamics more than just romantic ships and would set it apart from the Broppy-centric zine currently running (but also could still include some Broppy, as its a main ship).

I am also looking for anyone interested in joining solely as a moderator, about 2-3 people preferably. As this is my first time running a zine, anybody with experience running a zine and/or working with the digital files would be a great help! You can mark on the survey that you’d like to be a mod or message me. If there is also enough interest from fanfic authors, we will need beta readers to apply later to help with editing.

impulse specifically going to therapy at the encouragement of his friends. he has problems and he was like. very likely passively suicidal. he Needs Help and he will be getting it (with much reluctance)

impulse and skizz become roommates and gem and pearl become roommates and their houses are right next to each other. and then they connect them with much debate and arguments with the HOA and also city government
