ন্যার কারণে পানিতে ডুবে থাকা অঞ্চলে বিভিন্ন প্রকার রোগের প্রকোপ দেখা দেয়। বিশেষত পানিবাহিত রোগ এবং অন্যান্য জীবাণু সংক্রমণের সম্ভাবনা থাকে। এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য কিছু রোগ হলঃ

ডায়রিয়া: বন্যার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের কারণে প্রায়ই ডায়রিয়ার প্রাদুর্ভাব ঘটে। যখন জলপথ ও পরিবেশ দূষিত হয়, তখন সংক্রামক ব্যাকটেরিয়া ও ভাইরাস পানিতে মিশে যায়  , যা ডায়রিয়া সৃষ্টির প্রধান কারণ। ডায়রিয়া হলে, পেটের যন্ত্রণা, বমি, এবং ঘন ঘন পাতলা পায়খানা দেখা দেয়। ডায়রিয়া ও খাদ্যবিহীনতা রোধ করতে এবং স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করতে নোংরা জল ও খাবার থেকে দূরে থাকতে হবে এবং যথাযথ চিকিৎসা গ্রহণ করতে হবে। এক্ষেত্রে অবশ্যই চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মেনে চলা উচিত এবং অভ্যন্তরীণ বিশুদ্ধতা নিশ্চিত করা উচিত।

টাইফয়েড: বন্যার সময় পানি ও পয়ঃবর্জ্যদূষণের কারণে টাইফয়েডের ঝুঁকি বেড়ে যায়। টাইফয়েড ব্যাকটেরিয়া সালমোনেলা টাইফি দ্বারা সৃষ্ট একটি সংক্রামক রোগ, যা দূষিত পানির মাধ্যমে ছড়���য়। টাইফয়েড রোগের লক্ষণ হিসেবে জ্বর, দুর্বলতা, মাথাব্যথা, ��বং পেটব্যথা হতে পারে। নিরাপদ পানি ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে এবং স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে চলা টাইফয়েড প্রতিরোধে সাহায্য করে।  

কলেরা: বন্যার পর কলেরা হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা বেড়ে যায়। কলেরা হলো এক ধরনের পানিবাহিত ব্যাকটেরিয়াজনিত রোগ যা পানির মাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। এর লক্ষণগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে গুরুতর ডায়রিয়া ও বমি। বন্যার সময় দূষিত পানির মাধ্যমে এই রোগ ছড়ায়, তাই নিরাপদ পানি ব্যবহারের দিকে মনোযোগ দেওয়া উচিত। 

ডেঙ্গু এবং ম্যালেরিয়া: বন্যাদুর্গত অঞ্চলে সাধারণত বেশ কিছু রোগের ঝুঁকি বেড়ে যায়, যার মধ্যে ডেঙ্গু ও ম্যালেরিয়া অন্যতম। বন্যার পানি জমে থাকার কারণে মশার প্রজনন ক্ষেত্র বৃদ্ধি পায়, যা ম্যালেরিয়ার ঝুঁকি বাড়ায়। ডেঙ্গুর ক্ষেত্রে, বন্যার ফলে জলাবদ্ধতার সৃষ্টি হলে এডিস মশার সংখ্যা বেড়ে যায়, যা ডেঙ্গু ভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ ঘটাতে পারে। বন্যার পরপরই দ্রুত চিকিৎসা ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে চলা খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। পরিষ্কার পানি ব্যবহারের প্রতি যত্ন নেয়া এবং মশার কামড় থেকে বাঁচার জন্য মশারি ব্যবহার করা উচিত। 

চর্মরোগ: বন্যার সময় সাধারণত মানুষদের চর্মরোগের আশঙ্কা বেড়ে যায়। পানির নোংরা অবস্থা এবং অতিরিক্ত আর্দ্রতার কারণে চর্মরোগ যেমন স্ক্যাবিস, ফাঙ্গাল ইনফেকশন এবং এলার্জি দেখা দিতে পারে। ত্বকে ঘা বা চুলকানি দেখা দিলে দ্রুত চিকিৎসা নেওয়া উচিত। স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে চলা এবং পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা বজায় রাখা এসব রোগের সম্ভাবনা কমাতে সাহায্য করে।

সাপের কামড়: বন্যার পর সাপের কামড়ের সম্ভাবনা বেড়ে যায় কারণ বন্যার জল জমে থাকে। সাপের কামড়ের ফলে সাধারণত বিষক্রিয়া, পচন, এবং বিভিন্ন প্রকার রোগের সম্ভাবনা থাকে। বিষাক্ত সাপের কামড়ে স্থানীয়ভাবে ফোলাভাব, ব্যথা এবং রক্তক্ষরণ হতে পারে।

আরো গুরুতর ক্ষেত্রে, বিষক্রিয়া শ্বাসপ্রশ্বাসের সমস্যা, শরীরের বিভিন্ন অংশে অবশভাব এবং মৃত্যুর কারণ হতে পারে। তাই, বন্যার পর সাপের কামড়ের ঝুঁকি কমাতে সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করা এবং প্রয়োজনে দ্রুত চিকিৎসা সেবা গ্রহণ করা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

After the hurricane recovery is starting in the states and the damage is so bad in some places, they're either gone or don't have a single road left into town.

The power outage map for the states affected is honestly astounding. I actually know friends in southwestern Ohio that had a tornado/cyclonic thunderstorm from this system knock their power out.

Some places might not get power back for 2+ weeks.

The western half of North Carolina, where the Appalachian mountains are, is so badly damaged that some news stations are warning from any travel, and to consider every road closed until further notice.

Asherville is so damaged there seem to be almost no major roads left in or out of town.

The flooding from this storm is devastating and has destroyed entire towns and wiped some off the map. Damns and other infrastructure are failing all over the affected areas.

Until the flood waters recede sometime in the next few days, we won't have a full scope of just how badly people have been affected, nor will we have a final death toll.

Oh also, apparently the governor of Tennessee has not declared a state of emergency despite several places being catastrophically inundated. Instead he's done this, which is pissing a lot of people off.

I know everything that can be said on this topic has been said to death and no one but Jews will ever acknowledge it but it is still absolutely infuriating how every brand of gentile from every part of the political spectrum has collaborated to turn the word "Nazi" into a generic word for "fascist" or "bad person" or "person I don't like." Nazism isn't just fucking fascism and it isn't a synonym for bad person. It's a specific ideology that is centered at its root around blaming Jews for every problem in the world and wanting to exterminate them.

No, generic racist Republicans are not "Nazis." No, TERFs are not "Nazis." No, your crappy corrupt European leader is not a "Nazi." No, cops are not "Nazis." You know why they aren't Nazis? Because their entire ideology and behavior, as harmful as it may be to certain groups, is not centered around hating JEWS.

Nazism is an ideology centered around hating JEWS. Other people and groups may be caught in the crossfire, but ultimately, a Nazi's goal is to exterminate Jews, and you cannot just ignore that! I read a 12 paragraph essay yesterday written by a gentile analyzing the reasons people in Nazi Germany flocked to Nazism, and antisemitism wasn't mentioned as a motivation even once! They thought it was all because of gender norms and sexual repression! Oh my god!

The comfort with which gentiles have near universally divorced Nazism from antisemitism in colloquial speech is a direct precursor to the separation of Nazism from antisemitism in academic discourse. It's a direct predecessor to the rise of institutionalized antisemitism that we are seeing happen in real time now, because you have all gotten so used to appropriating Jewish trauma and Jewish oppression to the extent that you have convinced yourselves it isn't even uniquely real. That antisemitism doesn't exist as a specific bigotry that stands on it's own, that antisemitism is always some kind of footnote tied to some other, more important form of oppression. Do you think that Jews don't see what is happening here, that we don't see the deliberate generalization of Jew hatred and appropriation of the language we can use to refer to it? Jewish trauma becomes everyone's trauma, Jewish oppression becomes everyone's oppression, and soon enough the world at large has stolen the language of Jewish oppression right out of our mouths, until huge swaths of people can say "Jews are the new Nazis" and not see anything absurd about that at all.

Because you won't. Fucking. Acknowledge. What Nazism actually is. You won't fucking acknowledge that any ideology is specifically targeted at JEWS, and not YOU. Stop it!! Stop it! really disappointing that bunjywunjy had to be pestered twice just to quietly remove their reblog after using their huge platform to encourage garbage like raving about the lesbian estonian soviet flag and how 'new pride flag just dropped' so people could go 'ooh pretty' about a flag that was forced onto us by ppl who wanted our culture gone and oppressed us for about a century in total if not more.

to say nothing or not show anything of the truth about that flag and quietly remove the reblog felt more like it was done out of obligation (and you didn't agree) rather than care for the subject matter that is still a fresh wound in our country's memory. it's only been 33 years since it ended.
