⋆。゚A family is made not just by blood, but by love, chaos, and endless adventure. And in their case, a little bit of tough love and explosions too. ゚。⋆
— Vi, Caitlyn, Sevika, and Jinx.
Tumblr media
VI.
After many conversations filled with questions and uncertainties, you and Vi made the decision to adopt and take that big step toward building a family. At first, Vi was a little unsure, afraid she wouldn’t live up to what motherhood would demand. But everything changed in an instant: when she saw the baby you both had chosen for the first time, her gaze softened with tenderness, and all her doubts vanished. In that moment, you knew you had made the right choice.
From the moment you brought the little one home, Vi became an unshakable source of love and protection. Though she still struggles with the overwhelming feeling of stepping into the role of a mother, her determination never wavers. She is ready to teach her child to face the world with courage, even when it seems like a complicated place.
The sweetest side of Vi shines through when she’s with her child. The house fills with laughter as they dive into intense pillow fights or games of hide-and-seek, where Vi, with a mischievous grin, always lets herself get “found.”
When she heard her child call her “mom” for the first time, she felt a lump in her throat and her heart overwhelmed with emotion. Tears threatened to fall, but true to her style, she tried to cover it up with a smile and her usual: “Who the hell is chopping onions around here?”
CAITLYN.
You and Caitlyn decided to turn to a sperm donor, carefully selecting someone whose values and characteristics perfectly matched what you both envisioned for your family. With her impeccable organizational skills, Caitlyn took charge of the process, ensuring that every step was supported by accurate information and well-thought-out decisions.
She’s one of those moms who’s passionate about instilling education from the very beginning. Sometimes, she goes a little overboard—like when you give her a simple bib, and she’s already imagining stitching the family name in gold thread.
Caitlyn spends peaceful, quiet afternoons walking through the park, gently pushing a baby stroller. She deeply enjoys sharing with her child the simple wonders of life, showing them the vibrant colors of flowers and the cheerful songs of birds, teaching them to appreciate the beauty in the everyday.
Though she seems to have everything under control, there’s a sparkle of emotion in her eyes every time her baby smiles. She’s a mother full of pride, unable to hide the immense love she feels for her family, and she’s not afraid to share that overflowing happiness with the world.
SEVIKA.
Although Sevika wasn't the most enthusiastic about the idea of becoming a mother, you managed to convince her that together they could build a unique family. She doesn’t talk about it much, but when the baby arrived, something in her changed profoundly.
Even though she tries to keep up her tough exterior, there's a softer side to her that comes alive only for her child. She’s the type of mom who grumbles when the kid makes a mess… and then helps clean it up while murmuring, "But don’t tell your mom."
She builds custom toys and practices games that involve physical challenges because "life doesn’t give you a break." Her child adores her, especially when they see her adjusting her mechanical arm like a superhero.
No one, absolutely no one, dares to question her role as a mother. Once, a stranger tried to criticize you as a couple, and Sevika made it clear there wouldn't be a second warning.
JINX.
You and Jinx never planned on having a child, but somehow, fate (and maybe one particularly chaotic day) led you to adopt a little one you found on the streets of Zaun. According to her, "he was a potential ally of chaos."
Jinx is the fun mom who organizes “crazy drawing” competitions and probably lets the kid have ice cream before breakfast. She’s messy, but there’s no shortage of love or dedication.
When her child gets scared, Jinx surprisingly becomes calm. She knows how to comfort him with made-up stories and a soft hug, showing a more vulnerable side of herself.
She wants her child to grow up knowing that there’s nothing wrong with being different. She teaches him to be brave and creative, even if it means explaining later why the baby tried to “decorate” the house with explosive glitter.

Giving In (to the Love): Guess
5th chapter
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Curiosity was eating you alive, even though someone else wishes to be the one doing it.
WC: 3K
PAIRING: Vi x Fem!Reader
WARNINGS: MDNI, masturbation, mentions of clit, fingering, cursing, alcohol.
A/N: sorry for the delay, life got in the way of thirst
Previous chapter
The days seemed longer than usual, your hands were full; trying to catch up with classes and studying for upcoming exams, getting home late and barely sleeping. It has been a few days since your last tutoring lesson and you really hoped Violet would keep her promise and study on her own, although you knew she had a lot on her plate too.
After that invitation, both of you started exchanging messages daily, usually chatting about what you were doing or your plans for the day, you complained about a few classes and she would do the same about some customers during the night.
It was still early in the morning and you were drinking your coffee. Your schedule for today was a bit heavy, it was Viktor's class and you knew that a pile of exams would be waiting for you on the desk to grade and your mind would be everywhere except on those papers.
You drank your coffee peacefully while going through your phone's notifications, reading group chats of your classes and asking some questions you needed for an essay. While reading one of your classmates' reply, a message from Caitlyn pops up asking if you would be free after class. Thinking for a bit, you decide to meet up with her for coffee and maybe a study session, it has been a while since both of you could have one and you were curious about the case she was so eagerly working on too. After all, she did mention it was very important for her.
Turning the lights off, you walk out of your apartment and lock the door. Once inside the elevator, the thought of messaging Violet crossed your mind, but you remembered she had mentioned her day would be very busy— training for the weekend during the morning and receiving some new furniture for The Last Drop in the afternoon, so you decide not to.
It was already feeling like kind of a boring day, you were getting accustomed to your texts and your senseless chats, just seeing her name pop up on your lockscreen would put your heart to work fast. Although you couldn't shake off the memory of the envelope, you wonder if you would be able to build up the nerve and eventually ask Caitlyn about it. There is nothing wrong with curiosity, right?
As you open the front door of the building, a cold breeze makes you realize you should have taken a jacket before leaving your place. Sighing, you closed the door anyway and started walking, you were already tight on time and Viktor wasn't very forgiving when it came to punctuality.
"Good morning, professor." You say as you open the door to Viktor's office, but there was no sight of him. The smell of books and incense was in the air, sunlight filling the room through green curtains and illuminating the bookshelves as you dropped your bag on the floor beside your usual seat. Saying you loved this room would be an understatement, it felt so academic yet very personal, you could tell Viktor put his whole life in here; some of his favourite books were on the bookshelf right behind his seat, notes and small illustrations pinned on a clork board— some his and some from someone else, and, on the desk, he had a frame with a photograph of his husband and himself, they both looked so happy and in love.
The particular sound of Viktor's cane stumbled you a bit out of your thoughts. He greeted you good morning and apologized for the delay, then sat down and handed a small pile of exams for grading. You looked at him confused and he said, "Not many students showed up."
You nod in response and both of you start your usual working routine. The mutual understanding you shared with him was something you were thankful for, it was quiet and easy to work with him; Viktor usually focused on his own thing, sometimes it would be supervising your previous corrections or preparing the topics for the next lesson, other times he'd stay silent while writing notes on his next investigation.
"How are Violet's lessons coming so far?" He asked suddenly, not taking his eyes off his paperwork and coughing a little bit.
"To be honest, good." You replied, trying to pretend that the mention of her name doesn't strike a nerve. Viktor looks at you and raises an eyebrow curiously and encouraging you to elaborate more. "Well," you start fidgeting, playing with the pen on your hand and taking your stare everywhere but his face, "she's a quick learner and shows clear interest in our lessons," he catches your fingers moving awkwardly and tries to hide a smile, "so I think she'll do just fine next time."
Viktor nods and continues with his work, you follow his action and carry on grading the few remaining exams. It was a pity not many students showed up to take it; Viktor's lessons were difficult but very educative and dynamic, he would make sure the whole class had a chance to participate, to feel free to start a debate or even question his facts. Even though his exams were tough, he always held extra classes for those who needed additional tutoring regarding some topics. Those were the reasons you look up to him, he built his career alone, everything he has now was a product of his never ending effort; in the little time you had got to know this man, he had found a way to make you admire him even more.
"Jayce and I are holding a seminar the following week," he said, lifting his eyes off the papers in front of him and dropping his pen on the desk, "we would like to invite you."
You nod excitedly and he smiles, explaining more about the seminar his husband and himself are holding; they were working on a device that could detect and help relief the pain on small parts of the human body, it was mostly theory and the idea was still too young, but Viktor seemed hopeful about it. Both of you keep on working for a few hours more, time passing by quickly given all the work you had to do besides grading.
He ended up dismissing you earlier than expected, so you said your goodbye and walked out of the office straight to the cafeteria. Caitlyn wasn't going to arrive for another half an hour at least, so you sat down at your usual table and waited for the waitress to come take your order.
"Well, look what we have here." You hear a familiar voice behind you and turn your head around, it was Violet. She was smiling playfully as she took a seat in front of you. "Missed me much?"
"What are you doing here?" You ask her, nervously playing with the menu on your hands. Certainly you weren't expecting to see her today.
"Stalking my favourite tutor." She says and laughes. Her laugh makes you even more nervous, it feels like both music to your ears and a drums against your chest.
"I'm your only tutor." You answer, trying to sound nonchalant and calm. Violet had this unknown effect on you, it was like she was guiding you through the whole emotional spectrum; happiness, anxiety, confusion, all at once. Never in your life have you crossed paths with someone who could cloud your mind and put your heart to work as if you were running a marathon.
"Had to drop Powder's uniform," she says, running her hands through her pink hair, "she came to work and forgot it at home." She rolls her eyes, giving you the smallest timeframe to watch her slow movements, the way her shoulders would tense as she gesticulates, her hair falling against her face, her light blue eyes reflecting the sunlight coming through the window. It was like her presence was driving you in. "Are you okay, cupcake?" She breaks the spell she put you in.
"Y-Yes, I—"
"Can I take your order?" You were interrupted by no other than Powder herself, all dressed up in her uniform. Violet was about to speak but her sister cuts her out, "I already know yours, sis," she says, "I'm asking yours, cupcake." Smirking and looking at you mockingly, this little teenager managed to paint your face red.
"Just a coffee, please." You answer, coughing to try to clear your throat. Violet was sending her sister a serious stare, but you couldn't mind what it meant when your face felt like it's been set on fire.
Powder writes down your order, still with that smile on her face, and takes off. Silence sets in the small space of your table, you couldn't quite figure if it was an awkward silence that you should fill, yet you had no idea how you'd do that; Violet was entertained looking out the window, her chin on her hand and her eyes narrowed to cover herself from the sunlight. You felt like you should imitate her, as if you should cover yourself from her.
Your cellphone rings and you take it, desperate for anything that could distract your thoughts, and see a message from your best friend saying she would be arriving soon. You wonder if Violet was going to stick around for long, not that you wanted her to leave but the envelope was still in your mind— it felt like you were getting in the middle of something, putting pieces together of a secret you were not supposed to discover, yet you wanted to know why it was hidden in the first place.
It just didn't make sense, Caitlyn has been open about her sexuality ever since you first met her, so it couldn't be that. Maybe Violet wasn't? She didn't seem like the type to hide, but you didn't know that much about her anyway.
As your train of thoughts was taking you to psychosis station, the little door bell rings and a familiar shape comes into view. Caitlyn looked stunning, as always, but this time an aura of happiness was surrounding her. She approaches your table and greets Violet first, your stomach ties up in a knot when you see your best friend's hand on Vi's shoulder; such a small cordial gesture that sends your brain direct instructions to make your heart panic and you smile vaguely in a lame attempt to compose yourself.
"I'm glad you're here too." Caitlyn says to Vi, then takes a seat next to you just when Powder was bringing you your coffee, so your best friends takes her chance and ask for one too. You see the teenager roll her eyes as she writes Caitlyn's order then takes off. "Not one to pretend, I see."
"It's not personal," Violet says, "she just wants to drive you nuts."
Caitlyn chuckles and grabs her purse, taking a few papers from it and putting them on the table. You wonder what the whole conversation was about, how could Powder have such a reaction to her and why. You were feeling so left out.
"This is the case I wanted you to help me with." Caitlyn says to you, you stare at her confused and then take a look at it. You go through the pages slowly, reading some of the colorful notes sticked on them that pointed to mistakes— probably done by her boss. It was a complicated one, you could see why she needed someone else's eyes on this, but you weren't sure yours would be fitting.
"Well, it's certainly... something," You comment as you keep reading, you turn the pages until you find the strategy the firm was going to take for it, "is the other party not willing to settle?"
"He's not." Violet says, swallowing hard and looking at her side. You weren't expecting her to answer and look at her confused, then follow her gaze and find she's watching her younger sister wrapping a donut and shoving it inside a tiny bag for a customer. The pink haired girl chuckles when she sees Powder rolling her eyes again once the customer turns on their back and leaves; she really wasn't made for customer service, but you can see why Vi would want her to work here. Powder was safe, surrounded by college students or teachers, just preparing coffee and making snarky comments to customers, in a place where her older sister could actually watch over her. "I have to go now," Violet says, getting up of her seat, "I'll see you around, cupcake." She winks at you and raises her hand to greet Caitlyn goodbye as well.
Your best friend looks at you and bites her lips to repress a smile, but you're too busy watching Violet leave in a rush and replaying in your mind the little nickname that seemed to have grown on you.
Looking down again at the papers on the table, you see the Kiramman's distinctive emblem. Your fingers caress it mindlessly in a circle, Cassandra did an amazing job at the design, it really represented everything they were going for: justice, status and transparency.
"Is something going on between you and Violet?" Suddenly you ask Caitlyn, who was about to take a sip at her coffee but leaves her mug on the table slowly and raises her eyebrows in surprise instead.
"What do you—” She was interrupted by her cellphone ringing, she reads the name popping on the screen and sighs. It was her boss. Feeling a bit embarrassed about your sudden question, you smile and tell her to pick up then get off your seat. It was already time to go back home and study for your exams, but mostly you just wanted to run from the situation; it was a question you weren't sure to want to know the answer. Caitlyn picks up her purse and stands up as well, it seemed her boss told her to go back to the office as quick as possible. "Please take the folder with you," she tells you, "I'll text you later if he doesn't kill me."
You nod and greet her goodbye, then walk past Powder, who was taking an order from the table next to yours.
"Bye, Powder." You tell her before opening the door.
"Goodbye, cupcake!" She yells back, laughing loudly and winking, clearly mocking the way her sister does it.
You smile softly as you cross the door then start walking back to your place, thinking the fresh air might clear your head.
"Go to sleep, Vi!" Ekko yells from behind the bar counter while cleaning some of the bottles, humming a french song he listened to the day before with his girlfriend.
"Glad you're having fun." Violet tells him, putting a big box with some more bottles softly on the floor next to him. She looks at him annoyed, there were more important things to do than singing and cleaning the most expensives bottles no one actually asks for.
"Take it easy, it's still early." He answers, returning the same annoyed stare and putting the bottle on its place. "Just go rest, I'll take it from here."
"Don't forget to—"
"Clean the tables and take a look at the stereo," Ekko interrupts her, "I know."
Violet nods and thanks him, turning around to go upstairs. The day couldn't be any more longer, although she was more concerned about the weekend; that's when the bar would be full and she wasn't sure Ekko could handle it on his own, Powder still hadn't asked for a free day at her job to help him out and there was no one else to replace her. She didn't want to miss her fight, she has been practicing a lot more and she could see herself getting better at it. Most of all, she didn't want to cancel her date along with it. Although it wasn't a date, not that she wouldn't want it to be but the other girl seemed pretty much oblivious to her advances. Or maybe she just wasn't interested.
Sighing, Violet sits down on the couch with her whisky glass filled in her hand. She takes a sip, slowly letting the liquid burn her throat while she watches it settle again inside. It wouldn't be long for the trial to be held and even if she trusted Caitlyn and the firm with all her heart, she couldn't help but feel nervous; her father's long life work was at stake, Powder's future and her own were too. She had a promise to keep to him and should it go down wrong, it would weight her until her final days.
College was just a back up plan, not that she didn't like the idea of it but her life and dreams were at The Last Drop. The only good part about it so far was that she could get to meet her tutor— more than that, she could befriend her and perhaps something more if only that girl would ever notice her flirting.
Smiling to herself, Violet grabbed her phone and texted her. She was hoping Caitlyn was right about her and that she would help them even a bit with the case, it would mean the world to Vi. Caitlyn had talked heavens about her best friend, saying she was smart and sweet, and Violet was glad to find out it was all true; the way she would carry herself or talk, even her small gestures were adorable. Not to mention she was incredibly attractive, it was so difficult for Vi to be near her, feel her body close and not be able to touch her, to caress her face, to slide her hands down her body and smell her perfume; she could imagine it all as she laid down on the couch, her imagination was driving her nuts. Her heart beating a bit faster as she fantasized of kissing her neck slowly, what her moans would sound like once she felt Violet leaving a trail of kisses down her body, softly helping her get undressed, piece by piece until there was nothing left separating them.
She would make her feel so good, teasing her just the right amount to hear her begging for more. Violet slid her hand under her pants, her body already feeling hotter than before and she wished those fingers weren't hers; the need to feel her was clouding her senses as she kept rubbing her own fingers against her clit, a vivid image of her tutor moaning Violet's name was in her mind. She'd caress and feel the skin of the girl's breast against her hand as she'd keep kissing all the way down, only stopping once she's close to where she's needed the most, licking and sucking, tasting her and watching her close her eyes, trying so hard not to finish right there and then.
"Fuck!" Violet let out a soft moan, she could feel her own orgasm building inside her as her fingers kept rubbing relentlessly. She could imagine the girl's hands on her pink hair, trying to ground herself as Vi would keep eating her out, making her moan and cum like she's never before, because she was sure of it. She could feel her own orgasm building inside her, she was so close to it— Someone knocked twice on the door and called her name. It was Ekko, yelling he needed her down at the bar because a customer was causing trouble with the payment.
Sighing heavily, she composed herself and got up to wash her hands. Her cellphone vibrated and she instantly grabbed it, smiling at the reply from the girl who wouldn't leave her thoughts. She had claimed ownership of her mind entirely, little by little with every interaction, every smile, every silly joke and even when she would blush because of Violet's endless teasing.
"good night, cupcake." Violet replied, trying to keep her thoughts off her fantasies.
It would be a long wait until the weekend arrives.

Work was always tougher in the winter. The cold often slowed your movements, making tasks more difficult. Dangerous, if you were on a field mission. Today you were out with Caitlyn Kiramman, your field partner and girlfriend. The two of you were tasked with keeping an eye on Piltover's boarders. Obviously, you weren't tasked with the full boarders of the city. That would be impossible for the two of you alone. There were other boarder patrol officers. You and Caitlyn were just set to a small section, close to Zaun. Zaun always put you on edge. You didn't like being close to the boarder, but it was your job. You followed through regardless of your own comfort and opinions.
Caitlyn picked up on your unease, offering you a smile from a distance," I get it, you know. It's scary knowing what they're capable of," she spoke. Caitlyn's tone not one of judgement. Never with you. She wouldn't judge you for your fears because hers were one in the same with yours. She was scared of Zaun, too. Having seen some of the things they were capable of. That Shimmer... well, it was scary stuff.
You sighed. Fingers fidgeting with the edge of your clothing, you felt bad for judging them. You knew that not everyone in Zaun was as scary as Silco. Or even Jinx. You wanted to believe there was some good ones down there. Mixed in with the bad, there had to be. It wasn't all bad down there, was it? But if it was... the thought sent a shiver down your spine," I hate having boarder patrol here. Literally anything could happen."
"I know. If it's any comfort, I would never let anything happen to you," Caitlyn assured you. Her words brought a dust of pink to your cheeks. You straightened yourself, faking a cough with your fist over your mouth. Looking away from Caitlyn. Her words were just the truth, she wasn't trying to fluster you. But it definitely worked nonetheless. Caitlyn noticed your reaction and couldn't help but laugh in amusement," did I fluster you? I was only speaking honestly."
"Yeah, yeah.." You murmured, Caitlyn smiled at you. A look that held nothing but love in her eyes. She truly did love you, she was sure you were it for her. Whenever Caitlyn imagined her future, even with all its uncertainly there was always one thing she knew for sure. You would be there. Every step of the way, no matter what. She was yours, just as you were hers.
The two of you had been distracted with your own thoughts. Forgetting about the whole reason why you were here to begin with, too lost in day dreams. Neither of you noticed the figure lurking in the shadows. Watching, waiting for you and Caitlyn to lower your guards. Noticing the distance in your eyes, the figure took advantage. Striking so fast you and Caitlyn didn't even have the time to blink, let alone react. The next thing you knew, everything was black. Did you... faint? Die? Whatever happened, when you came to you were back in the Kiramman House. Caitlyn sitting on the edge of the bed. You recognized the sheets around you, the familiarity of the room. It was Caitlyn's. You'd been here a number of times to know it in any state you were in. Sitting up slowly, your hand brushed her arm. Startling Caitlyn out of her thoughts.
"You're awake," she was filled with relief. Her arms wrapped around you, clinging to you like you were her life support. As though if she were to let go.. you'd disappear. Your own arms wrapped around Caitlyn. Resting your chin to her shoulder with a soft smile. Though, your thoughts kept wandering. Wondering how long you had been out for her to be this worried. Although, Caitlyn would worry even if it were only a few seconds. So you didn't have much to go off of here. Letting go after a long moment, you looked into her eyes.
"How long was I..?"
Caitlyn sighed at your question, her hand resting to your knee. Giving it a squeeze. Needing to reassure herself that you were okay. "Nearly a day," she explained. Then added on when your eyes widened," it was only this morning when it happened. It's about... seven in the evening, now. You were out cold, she really got a good hit on you. I was worried it would be worse," there was a clear anger in her tone when she spoke. A frustration that you'd come to associate with one person. Jinx. Caitlyn really did not like her.
"'She'? Was it Jinx?" You didn't really have to ask. You knew it was, but you didn't want to assume and then be wrong. That would be a little embarrassing.
Caitlyn simply nodded. Her grip on your knee tightening, you looked down at yourself. Well. Whatever happened, you weren't hurt. And neither was Caitlyn by the looks of it. That left you with more questions than answers, but you knew Caitlyn needed a moment to calm down. Jinx was like a trigger for her. It always got her going, especially when Jinx involved you. So, you held off on the questions. Knowing that if she wanted to tell you more she would have by now or would do it in her own time.
Instead, you and Caitlyn spent the rest of the evening in bed. Curled up together and just recovering from your encounter with Jinx.

Lost confessions. | Caitlyn x Fem!Reader (feat. Vi)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Part one)
Take this as a little offering whilst I recover lol-
Content: Spoilers for season 2, Slight Vi x Reader?, angst, hurt/no comfort?, Zaunite reader, wlw, kidnapping, alcohol, allusion to cheating? Idk, swearing, ooc?, Pit fighter vi, sfw
Reader is afab and uses she/her pronouns.
((Not proofread))
Tumblr media
Looking back on it, you wondered what life would've been like if you never met either woman.
You imagined yourself living a peaceful life with your parents, perhaps being married off to someone eventually that will treat you well enough to live with. But alas, that thought simply rubbed you the wrong way, now that you were stuck in the whirlwind that was their love, devotion, and heartbreak. You were always the fixer, the one that held them together, the neutral middle ground in their fights and disagreements.
A Zaunite who knew the ways of the Piltovans, that's what made you perfect for the both of them... until even that wasn't enough.
Tumblr media
Underappreciated and pushed aside for two different extreme ideologies, you haven't moved an inch out of your estate ever since Vi practically told you off as well. You had chased her down to the darkest parts of Zaun all on your own in hopes of salvaging what was left of your once rather intimate friend group and yet... there was no getting through to her. By the time you reached her, she became an unrecognizable, drunken mess that screamed at you to get lost. That you weren't Caitlyn, the woman that presumably haunted her with every breath. Not you, though, never you.
You always considered yourself an afterthought to everyone but your family. Everyone else saw you as an outsider on both sides, and it seemed like Vi deep down thought the same. "What would you know about being an actual, real Zaunite anyway? You're a rat pretending to be one of us. Now get lost before I make you." Oh, how cruel and cold her words were. She had never spoken to you like this before either. She was always so understanding, so gentle. But perhaps that part of her got lost in the blurry, fast life of a pitfighter, as she rolled her eyes at your tear-struck, heartbroken face and turned to another bottle to soothe the pain. It was a pain you couldn't fix this time around. No, you refused to.
And you treated Caitlyn with no difference either, ever since that night in your gardens in which you practically ran away from her for good. You have avoided her for three months now completely, refusing to even see, hear, or read a single thing from her. Your parents couldn't convince you, her father couldn't convince you, her soldiers couldn't convince you and she sure as hell couldn't either. But alas... what the commander wanted, she'd eventually get. Even if she had to pull some strings for it. Like making up an entire gala for an undefined victory that absolutely no noble could refuse, much to you and your family's dismay.
This led you to now, standing in a far away corner from the lavish crowd of guests around you, as beautiful music bounced off the grand walls of the ballroom. You would've been impressed if you didn't feel so conflicted. Eyes were in you at all times, the secret disdain hidden behind fake smiles and sickeningly sweet compliments that made your skin crawl. Everyone seemed to be in deep agreement that someone like you, who wasn't Piltover born, didn't belong in a place like this. Nevermind your frilly dress, the sparkly jewelry, the many hours it took you to look perfect as you knew deep down this would happen. It all didn't matter to them. Hell, you could've been a pig in lipstick for all they cared!
One thing that did comfort you was the lack of Caitlyn. You hadn't really seen her yet, just quick glimpses of her in the masses, of which you ducked out of her sight every time. It was a cowardly thing to do, and yet you had no choice. You knew she was looking for you. "Darling? How about you take a breather?" Your mother asked you gently, clearly worried about the pale look on your face. It was clear that you didn't want to be here. "I... alright, I'll be out in the gardens then." Excusing yourself, you pushed through the crowd hastily, head down until you finally reached the freshness of the crisp night air. You took a deep, reliving breath, glad to have escaped the loud and suffocating room at last.
As you traversed through the grandiose grounds, you found yourself getting lost on thought whilst the orchestra and buzz from the guests began to grow distant. The cold air nipped at the exposed skin of your neckline and arms, your dress flowing in the soft breeze that lulled you into a moment of tranquility. Looking up at the stars, they glimmered beautifully in the night sky. A wish to be a part of them came to mind, in which you wondered what it would be like to be admired and sought after by dreamers. Reach for the stars they say, but you never dared it, afraid to be burned by them until there was nothing left of you.
Frowning, you looked down at your gloved hands, a silver ring on it that Caitlyn had given you once as a gift for your birthday. It meant a lot to you, reminding you of a time in which the woman was still herself, something you so desperately held onto. You may have sounded pathetic, but else can you do? You were no hero, no soldier. You couldn't fight. You couldn't do a thing other than mourn, grief, and cry. You saw no strength in your weakness and left it at that. And the guilt of living such a perfectly pristine life whilst your people were suffering under your golden heel didn't help either.
Shaking your head, you turned to return back to the party in hopes of being able to convince your father to finally leave already, when a giggle stopped you dead in your tracks. Unable to hide your curiosity, you cautiously stepped towards the sound, perhaps just to see what was entertaining. Were there performances outside, too? Yet what you saw when you peeked out from behind a tall bush was perhaps the most unamusing thing you have ever witnessed.
"Oh, come on, Cait, what's the harm in some fun?" "Maddie... we're in the middle of a ball. Besides... I... have to speak to someone." The commander was leaning against a wall whilst the mousy girl trapped her against it, a flirtatious grin on her lips that made you nearly reel back in surprise. Just what were you looking at? What was the meaning of this? Why... were you so hurt? If this truly was what you assumed it was... then why would you care? You were never a couple. In fact, you never had the chance to tell her a thing about your conflicting emotions for her. Shaking fingers nervously brushed over the silver ring, eyes wide in sick anticipation on what was going to happen next. You couldn't look away despite your better judgment.
"Ah... Do you mean her? I thought you were over her... after all..." Maddie's hand idly brushed over the taller woman's shoulder, clearly showing off a form of intimacy that should never even occur in between their huge gap in ranks. And you could tell that it had become a bit too natural, a statement to how long this must've been going on for. "She's just some ignorant Zaunite who doesn't get you. She won't do you any good. So forget about her already, okay?" There was a ringing in your ears whilst the ginger girl pulled Caitlyn down for a kiss the woman hardly fought against. She must've agreed with what she was saying... and that killed you even further inside. For how long has this been going on? Even before her time as a commander?
Refusing to witness any of this mess any longer, you escaped the scene, never seeing the way Caitlyn pushed Maddie away from her with a scoff. "Stop that. I already told you that I didn't want to..." Her words died on her tongue when she saw a familiar ring glimmering in the grass. Ignoring the officer, she approached it and kneeled down to grab it, eyes narrowed deeply in thought. And then she realised it finally that it was yours. The one she had gifted you. It took her months to find the perfect sapphire gem for it, too. Seeing you sparkle with joy when you received it made all the efforts worth it, even if she didn't find the bravery to confess to you in the moment.
The regret of it all was hitting her harder than she ever thought it could, which resulted in her running back to the ballroom, desperate to catch up to you and tell you the truth. She had been blinded by her rage and grief for too long.
But... was it perhaps too late?

The answer was yes, but for a totally different reason than expected.
You hadn't returned to the party and instead ran further into the gardens until you found yourself getting lost. It was too dark to see anything, and fear was beginning to brew in your heart. It didn't help that you felt so awfully uneasy. Something was watching you, hunting you down carefully as you pushed your way through the dense bushes and flowery paths in hopes for an exit. A young doe running from a wolf hidden away in the shadows, that's what you were. Yet it was a lot deeper than that. Alot darker. You couldn't comprehend the extent of the inconvenience your existence imposed, but you'll learn soon enough. The wolf would make sure of it.
"A bit of a cold night for a walk, isn't it child?" Letting out a loud gasp, you jumped and pressed a hand against your chest. Snapping your head to the side, you saw the familiar large stature of the Noxian general. Pushing yourself up against a pillar nervously, you immideatly recognized the shiver of terror that ran through your body. There was something awfully wrong with her appearance, and you knew better than to trust that she didn't have any ill intentions. Your father had warned you well, but that wouldn't save you.
"General Medarda..." "Hm... are you lost? I can tell that you are. It must be scary to be all alone in such a... dark, empty place. Who knows what lurks in the shadows after all." She did. You knew it was her who must've been watching you this entire time. Sweat dripped from your forehead, body trembling despite your best efforts to stay strong. This won't end well. "What do you want from me?" You breathed out, ignoring her previous words as you weren't in the mood to humor her.
An amused smirk creeped onto her lips as she began to approach you so casually. The dangerous aura was practically suffocating you, however, making you shrink away and unaware of the figures that began to appear behind you, ready for the woman's orders. "You know... despite of how how uninteresting you are, you still somehow found a way to weasel your way into my plans. And especially into our dear commanders mind. I'm getting tired of it, really... she needs to focus on the betterment of her nation and not an unimportant girl like you." You frowned at her words, suddenly finding the strength to fight back if only verbally. If you were going down, then you might as well do it without any regrets. "So what? You will kill me? That's a lot of words for something so natural to you." You huffed, and that made the woman's eyes glint in interest. Perhaps you did regret that after all...
Shaking her head with a chuckle she shook her head and grabbed onto your chin roughly. "I was going to... but I think there are better ways to teach a lesson... Sleep well, child. That's the only rest you'll be getting for a long time." You opened your mouth to protest further, yet were cut off by something hitting you violently in the back of the head and knocking you out.
Crumbling to the ground, your eyes found the blurring stars above once more, a weak whisper of Caitlyn's name leaving your lips before it all went black.
