aita for calling out someone for being manipulative towards a trans friend? Names have been changed for privacy reasons and TLDR at the end because this is long.
I (24f) am cis but have had a lot of trans friends (binary, nonbinary, and neopronoun) throughout the years and am very supportive so i take this very seriously. So I met this girl my first year in college (we were 18 at the time) and we became friends. We're polar opposites, she talks a lot and I don't, she parties a lot and I like to do more sophisticated things, she's a typical extrovert basically, and I'm more introverted. Anne (24f) was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. I don't know when, she just told me this years ago. I've seen tiktoks about bpd and researched Google about bpd a little so I know all about how they have fave persons and will "mimic" people in the friend group and become clingy, manipulate, etc. I've seen pics of her in high school, noticed that she was a theater kid, she said she was good at acting and even said she thinks her bpd helped with her acting although I'm not sure how, but she said she only joined the theater club because a boy she had a crush on was in theater. That should've been my first red flag but I was naive. She has a degree in something else (not theater) because our second year in college her favorite character in a TV show did a certain job, she got interested in that, and now she also does that as a living. She doesn't talk about her bpd, she's only mentioned it a handful of times. I can count on one hand how many times. And I get it because she said someone once told her people with bpd should be sterilized and not be allowed near children. Which is really messed up and I hate that someone said that.
However on with the situation. One of our friends Mike (25m) is a trans man. We met him four years ago. He's very handsome, broody, introverted, intelligent, great listener, very accepting and understanding, similar to me but opposite to her. Now we didn't know he was trans until two years ago, because I asked him on a date and he turned me down, and when I asked why he told me that he was mostly T4T and only viewed me as a friend. We were like woah you're trans, okay that's cool, etc. He explained that he was lucky enough to get on puberty blockers and transition young etc which is why he passes. I said okay I'm not trans and you're mostly T4T fair enough.
Well last year Anne suddenly tells us that she is trans too. She says she's bigender. She says she is okay with either she her or he him because she feels like a man and a woman at the same time. Some days she's a woman, some days she's a man, and some days she's both, according to her. She says she does not like they them pronouns. Suddenly her and Mike are spending all this extra time together. Last month he confided in me that he thinks he's in love with her, after years of him only seeing her as a friend, and then they started officially dating.
Here's the problem: she has not changed her outward appearance, her name, started any kind of medical stuff, joined any groups, bought a binder etc. We all continue to call her she and her because she fully presents as female and doesn't have a problem with it. Also she's very effeminate in body language, the way she talks, etc. I know technically I could call her a he or a him, too, but she never asks me to or corrects people when they call her she because well technically she is a she too. Mike is the only one who uses he and him pronouns with her as often as she and her, but she has never thanked him. It really feels like she's saying she's trans and then going about her life exactly as a cis woman simply to convince Mike to date her.
First off, Anne and Mike are NOT compatible. She likes to party, smoke weed, talks a lot, I'm not sure how she graduated with such good grades or why she does so well in her job because she is honestly a LOT to handle and I'm saying that as nice as possible. Mike would never touch weed or go to clubs and he says he would be fine staying home while she does those things but how could you trust someone to party while high and not hook up with others? I've seen her make out with five people in one night at a frat party. They also had wildly different childhoods, such as she grew up in a conservative community and doesn't speak to her family, and he grew up in a liberal area and is close with his family. But more importantly she has a history of joining theater because she had a crush on someone in theater (plus she admits she is good at acting, so maybe she is acting now?) and getting a degree and job in a field because a favorite fictional character did that and now this? It feels like she was attracted to him, found out he usually dates other trans people, and found a way to continue being cis but claim to be trans without having to do anything trans related, basically mimicing her favorite person. As soon as they met they hit it off, or should I say she clung to him and pretended to have the same likes and dislikes whenever they were alone I assume.
It sounds terrible I know, which is why I discussed this with a group chat first that neither of them are in, and the group chat not only agreed that she is far too "obnoxious" for him (those were NOT my words!) but that she is faking being trans in an attempt to make him fall in love with her (which seems to be working.) I would NEVER have gone further without making sure with them first. So then a few of the people in my group chat and I held an intervention with Anne alone. The six of us (the others don't live close enough to come) met up with Anne at her place and told her what she was doing was wrong and gross and that she needed to get help for her bpd and to stop catfishing Mike. She didn't take well to what was said, which I anticipated, but she went crazy. She was screaming at us, insulting us, sobbing while yelling etc, literally said if we ever contacted her again she would call the cops, so we left.
I immediately called Mike before she could and asked him to meet me at a restaurant nearby and that it was very important. Since Mike doesn't know anyone in the group chat I went alone and I explained EVERYTHING before she could gaslight and manipulate him even further. He left, did not finish or pay for his food. I messaged him several times, but a few hours later he texted me to never to speak to him again, and then blocked me on everything. I showed up to his house and Anne was there. Mike said if I ever contacted him again he would get a restraining order on me so I left. I've discussed this with the group chat and now suddenly half of them changed their mind and don't want to talk about it anymore. Several of them left the group chat. Not only that but several of my friends who know either Mike or Anne or both have blocked me on everything. When I've tried to contact these friends through other means and explain everything, they either didn't respond or said for me never to contact them again because I was being transphobic. Listen I know under NORMAL circumstances you shouldn't question when someone comes out but this is NOT a normal situation, and now I am concerned Anne is unsafe for Mike but also an unsafe person to know, as she literally is trying to destroy my life because I called her out on some seriously messed up and abusive behavior.
TLDR am I the asshole for trying to protect my trans friend from a potential stalker?
What are these acronyms?

empathy fucked
[pt: empathy fucked /end pt]
A flag for when your empathy is fucked for any reason. This can include hyperempathy, hypoempathy, empathyflux, or any other kind of empathy abnormality.
I made this to describe my weird relationship with empathy and how I personally only experience it for those I'm close to, but it can be used for anyone who feels like they can describe their empathy as "fucked."
Tumblr media
Lots of points of inspiration for this one! The flag template is by @/fantasy-store's empathy flags the center colors are from @/neopronouns' hyperempathy, hypoempathy(link) and empathyflux(link) flags, and the colors on either side are from @/fairystar-fag's high and low empatix(link) flags because they're gorgeous
Tysm to @/radiomogai for the help with the id. The flag template had me a lil stumped
Tumblr media
[flag id: A rectangular flag with five horizontal stripes of equal width. Each stripe has a small rectangle of a different color at some point on the stripe, with the rectangles starting in the top right corner on the first stripe and ending in the bottom left corner on the last stripe. The first stripe is dark blue with a bright green rectangle. The second stripe is indigo with a dark teal rectangle, the stripe after the rectangle being yellow. The third stripe is blue with a periwinkle rectangle, the stripe after the rectangle being orange. The fourth stripe is light blue with a lavender rectangle, the rest of the stripe being deep red. The last stripe starts with a pink rectangle, the remainder of the stripe being dark plum. /end id]

Sillyesque was requested by Anonymous in this ask! Alt IDs are by our usual buddy, @nerdiwolverine!
Sillyesque is a term and flag coined by @felonsgenders! It’s a gender system surrounding silliness and fooling around!
This Magical Boy has a Clown Theme! They use He/They Pronouns and Honk/Honks/Honkself, Silly/Sillys/Sillyself, Goof/Goofs/Goofself, Cir/Circus/Circusself, and Fun/Funs/Funself Neopronouns!
Goofs name is Astley, after the father of the modern circus (Phillip Astley)! Honk is supernaturally hilarious- no matter the person, goofs jokes and physical comedy will always make them laugh!
His Magical Boy Weapon is a goddamn car! Specifically, a clown car- it’s a sort of pocket dimension, and any living thing that enters will be able to fit. It’s pretty cramped though, but it never feels more cramped than when you first entered and the space within is seemingly endless… sure doesn’t feel like it, though.
A useless fact about honk is that honk got most of honks scars by getting a bit too drunk at a college bonfire. Astley thinks it’s fucking hilarious now, but it hurt like hell and they’re still in physical therapy. The only reason they’re alive is because Glass saved them.
The Magical Kid Project is a project wherein I steadily turn Pride Flags into Magical Kids! Requests are open through my inbox! Commission info is under the #commissions tag, I have a deal on Magical Kid Portraits!

Rules & Guidelines (Read first!)
Rules:
1. No bigotry of any kind.
No homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, lesbophobia, racism, anti-semitism, sexism etc. This includes transmedicalism and any bigotry against any LGBTQ+ identity. Respect neopronouns.
2. No discourse.
This is not a debate blog. Do your own research and respect people's identities. I do not engage. Don't feed the trolls.
3. No harassment.
Do not harass me. Do not harass anyone in the notes.
4. Do not steal my content.
You may repost or use my content for your own purposes, but please give credit. A lot of the fonts I use are for personal use only, so if you want something for commercial use, you'll need to request what you want and give me credit.
5. No MAPs/Zoos.
No exceptions.
6. No radqueers.
Anyone transabled, transspecies, transrace, transage, etc. DNI. I do not take requests for radqueer or radqueer-adjacent things.
7. Don't be pushy.
If you've sent a request, be patient! I get a lot of them and have ideas of my own, it takes time and creative energy to make this content. Being pushy or rude is a fast way to get blocked.
8. Please use Google if you don't know what an identity I've posted about is.
The LGBTQIA Wiki has a ton of pages about many different identities. I do not answer comments in reblogs. Please Google something if you don't know what it is, Google is a lot faster than me.
9. No spam.
Don't send asks, messages or comments in reblogs promoting yourself. Do not ask me for money. Do not advertise to me or to anyone in the notes.
Guidelines:
1. Use the ask box to request.
Please do not request in messages or in replies/reblogs. Use the default ask font.
2. Do not send multiple asks for multiple requests.
Multiple requests are allowed, but please keep them in ONE ask.
3. Limit requests to 3 animations or less.
Some animations are quick and easy to make, but having a ton of requests can really pile up.
4. Keep requests LGBTQ+ related.
This is LGBTQtext! Requests must be at least loosely related to being LGBTQ+. Some things (like being poly, for example) are not inherently queer, so make your request for text about those things at least a little queer (i.e. 'queer polyamory rocks!')
5. Don't request anything that breaks the rules.
Do not request any text that breaks any of my rules. Make sure you read the rules.
6. Be specific with requests.
Tell me what you want the animation to say. 'Something _ related' or 'Something about being _' isn't enough for me to go off of.
7. Text animations with LGBTQ+ slurs are requestable.
I will not make animations containing slurs that are not LGBTQ+, like the n word, for example. Any slurs that are used against LGBTQ+ people are requestable, and will be appropriately tagged.
8. I will only remake an animation if I get something wrong.
If I make a mistake, I will remake the animation. If you want a color scheme from a certain flag to be used, you have to tell me first. If you don't tell me which flag to use, I will likely use the most common one for that specific identity. If you want a specific animation, please tell me in your request.
Final Note
These rules are subject to change, and I may add more. Breaking any of these rules will earn you a block. Follow these rules, and we'll get along! This blog is centered around positivity.
If I ever do anything that is offensive or incorrect in any way, it is not intentional. Please let me know so I can correct it.

The last few days have been hard, news wise, for us. However, we still want to celebrate a bit of joy we had, because it's important:
There's an older transmasc nonbinary person who we met through a mentorship program, who we have meetings with occasionally to talk through things and get advice. He helped us today, and we want to tell you what he said (with some of our thoughts attached), incase it helps someone else tonight, or whenever you see this.
The world is cruel at the moment, and life is a bit shit. There's bad stuff everywhere. When life is like this, the important question to ask is 'how can I make things better in someone else's little world, and my little world?', and 'how can I do what's not done before?'. When you can't see the forest for the trees, it feels like it never ends. But it will end someday, and we've got to get through it. The only way we will is by taking action. Do fun stuff and support your friends. Write poetry and essays, tell your story to others. Coin new terms, flags and create new neopronoun sets that make you or others, even if it's just 1 person, feel heard. Tell someone they are loved today. Donate to organisations fighting the good fight. Find, create, and spread resources. Be as visible as you safely can, and please... don't give in to the people on reddit or twitter or wherever they are who tell you we are doomed, or that it is not worth fighting. That will get us nowhere. And if you do believe that... we understand why you feel that way, but even in your desire for a better world there is the chance of positive change. Don't dash that chance before you can take it. In his words: 'there is another world you haven't yet seen'.
So, despite it all, we've decided to launch a new project with our uni's trans society, which we are helping to run this year... and we're very excited about where it could go, if we can make it work. We might end up putting details here, someday. But we don't think we'd have had the courage to do that without talking to him.
Even on days like this... we still had some pretty cool stuff happen. We went out with our queerplatonic partner in person for the first time since the beginning of summer, and got to see an exhibition on one of our biggest special interests, which he may now be into. (/lh) We managed to pass a grading for our martial arts club, which was very cool. Why do we bring these up? Because even in days like this, in a dark world full of hateful politicians... our joy matters and is sacred.
So please, no matter what, keep on fighting, in whatever ways you can. Keep on dreaming, keep hold of your desire for a better world. To the degree you can, hold onto hope, even if it's of the smallest thing getting better, whether that be queer-related or not.
Trans and queer elders are sacred. They are some of the community's best weapons for fighting this current hateful political bubble, and many of them have been through similar waves to the one we are currently in. Their wisdom and experiences can help us. They inspire us, show us a future where we can be happy, and pave the way for a better world. In the future, we will do the same for the next generation of queer and trans youth... but we have to be there to support them. So keep on going and take it day by day, so when the sun rises again, whenever that may be... you can help someone who was in the same situation as you in the past not have to fight quite so hard. Be an elder, not a martyr. That's how we'll fix things in this world.

image description below, you can also open in a new tab and zoom in.
Tumblr media
[ID: A six panel comic titled, "Using Neopronouns…"
The first panel shows a cis person talking to a long line of trans people who continue off screen, who are each wearing a pronoun pin -- "he/him", "she/her", "they/them" and "ze/hir", and have the trans pride flag over their heads, with stripes of blue, pink, white, pink, and blue.
The cis person says, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The second panel shows the trans people who use "he/him" and "she/her" pronouns looking at the rest of the line, which consists of they/them, ze/hir, star/stars, and it/its, and saying, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The third panel shows the they/them user now talking to the ze/hir, star/stars, and it/its users, and is saying, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The fourth panel shows the ze/hir user saying "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.". to the star/stars and it/its users.
The fifth panel shows the star/stars user saying to the it/its user, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The last panel shows the it/its user standing alone, saying nothing but "sigh".
End ID.]
The transmisia, exorsexism, and neopronomisia are coming from inside the house.
To quote Leslie Feinberg:
"We can never throw enough people overboard to win approval from our enemies.”
(Transgender Warriors: making history from Joan of Arc to Dennis Rodman)
Ask yourself: "Am I literally repeating the exact same bigotry that cis people subject me to?" And if the answer is yes, cut it the fuck out.

Introducing: Cosmoveric, a xenogender identity associated with the universe itself
Pride month isn't over yet because I said so, also my first time adding alt text to images! If anyone has any recommendations for how to fix/change the alt text (if it needs corrections) please let me know and I'll update them!
Other variants of the flag will be at the bottom of the post.
What Is Cosmoveric?
Cosmoveric is a xenogender strongly associated with the universe. It can be described as an identity wherein one feels connected through gender to the universe itself and all the things that exist within it, with a primary focus on celestial objects. Individuals may or may not experience a disconnect with Earth itself.
Cosmoveric may be used as an umbrella term for space-centric xenogenders. For example, an individual may identify as both Cosmoveric and Neptugender; this may mean that they feel connected with the entire universe, but they are the closely linked with Neptune and voids in particular.
All combinations are valid and accepted, even if they're contradictory. I don't intend to police identities, I'm only offering examples.
In my personal experience, I identify as both Cosmoveric and Boyflux. I consider myself disconnected from Earth, both physically and through gender expression, but I also identify with masculinity and genderless identities. I love space, and I've always felt a deep and personal connection to it, to the point that I even took on/accepted space related neopronouns (astra/astral currently) before I even knew that my love of the universe played a part in my gender identity.
Colour Meanings
yellow: a connection to all stars, the sun, & all moons sierra: a connection to humanity, the spacial origins of life on earth, & the expansion of the universe blush: a connection to galaxies, nebulae, supernovae, & quasars blue: a connection to deep space, asteroids, comets, & neutron stars navy blue: a connection to black holes, dark matter, & cosmic voids purple: a connection to the solar system, constellations, & extraterrestrial life light purple: a connection to planets, dwarf planets, & exoplanets deep purple: a connection to space travel, astronomy, & cosmology
Generally speaking, yellow represents starlight, pink represents star clusters, deep blue represents the unexplored & not understood regions of space (including theories), and purple represents human studies into the universe, the solar system, & space itself.
Entymology
Cosmoveric originates from the Ancient Greek terminology for the universe, referred to as the Cosmos. Part of the word universe, ver, is used along with the suffix -ic, meaning "of or pertaining to".
In summary, the word Cosmoveric means pertaining to the universe and/or the cosmos.

ITSS TIMMEEEEEEEEE!!!~/ref
Over the past couple days I have been working on four queer headcanon flag charts with the overarching theme being Intermission/Problem sleuth. I AM FINALLY POSTING THEM AFTER AROUND FIVE DAYS OF WORK.
without further ado, THE CHARTS!!! :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
extra info under the cut! :o)
HI!! These are queer headcanon charts! I very commonly find myself making these with my interests, favourite characters, and my own and friends oc's. I use these to have a vauge headcannon understanding and baseline for my interpretations on the queerness of characters. It helps me when writing fanfics, drawing, aswell as discussing headcanons with others! it also makes me INSANELY happy to make them and put labels onto characters without a universally agreed way of self expression. Throughout making this batch of charts, especially towards the end, i did a LOT of reasearch on different sets of Neopronouns, Neurogenders, MOGAI [1] terms of expression, aswell as just general queer labels. which is why towards the end especially there is a large jump to neopronouns aswell as complexity in their associated flags.
Extra fun tidbits of info!!: The one that took me the least amount of time was the extra felt members page, with only five characters taking only 23 minutes to complete. THE ONE THAT TOOK ME THE LONGEST, BY A LANDSLIDE, WAS THE PROBLEM SLEUTH CHART WITH *FIVE AND A HALF HOURS TOTAL TIME.* ll In order from first started to last finished, these charts go in this order : The general felt chart/Leprechaun chart, The extra felt members chart, The general carapace chart, and last but not least the Problem Sleuth chart. || I myself personally identify very strongly with multiple items under the MOGAI umbrella, which is a large reason I love doing these charts and including identities from the MOGAI microlabels! || Items under the MOGAI unbrella used in the post above include but arent limited to: Xenogender, Neurogender, and Egogender. || If you use/check Alt Texts on posts, you'll notice this post doesnt have alt text for any image given. That is because I plan to make an entire post dedicated to a image ID for the four photos, including: What the flags are, What they mean, Who theyre next to, What pronouns does each person have, aswell as where the images end and go onto the next image. The reason an ID isnt included in this post is due to purely how outrageously long it is, however I look forward to writing the ID/Alt text to this post sometime within the next few days.
Did you catch the little bracketed one next to the first time I used MOGAI in this post and come down here looking for a citation? if so, here you go! Items under the [1] are copied directly from the LGBTQIA+ Wikipedia page on the MOGAI umbrella term!
[1] : MOGAI is an acronym for Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments, and Intersex. MOGAI is an umbrella term for people who are not cisgender and/or heterosexual and/or endosex [2]
[2] : Endosex is a term used to discribe those who are not intersex and whom are born with typical sex characteristics that fit the Male/Female binary.

So I made a MOGAI gender for myself
FIGUROGENDER
Tumblr media
Figurogender is a label that describes a gender identity where a person's gender is malleable and reshapeable, while staying anchored to a certain base identity. It could be compared to the molding of clay, or the pouring of water from one container to another. Despite the evident change in shape and style, molded clay is still clay and poured water is still water. Another way of looking at it is like a compass, as the compass can be rotated and moved in all directions, but the needle will always point north. The individual may feel that their gender is able to be altered in major ways by their environment, personality or the company they keep, while still remaining solidly within the bounds of one specific base gender type, such as male or female. Figurogender people could be characterised by having unconventional or unconforming features such as pronouns, clothes or preferences, while still feeling concrete in their identity. The main feature of the gender is that, despite how loose or malleable their gender presentation may be to themselves, the individual still feels concrete in their initial label. This gender is designed to be paired with any solid gender label, such as male, female, nonbinary, ect.
The name comes from the latin figuro, a verb meaning to shape, mold or form. The flag consists of 3 colours:
- an orangey-brown, the colour of clay. It represents how the gender identity, like clay, can be shaped and molded while still being the same material.
- a darkish blue, representing the male gender and masculine interests, personality, pronouns or representation.
- a light purple, representing genders outside of the m/f binary, and interests, personality, pronouns or representation associated with those genders.
- a light pink, representing the female gender and feminine interests, personality, pronouns or representation.
My own connection with this gender, and the reason I created it, was due to my internal conflict between my labels, pronouns, representation and (irrational) morals. I consider/ed myself to be male and cisgender, and my mind refused to let me think of myself in any other way, due to an irrational moral conflict. Despite this, I still collect and use neopronouns, and recently moved into using all pronouns. In a bid to better understand my brain and identity, I decided to try describing my feelings about my own gender, and make my own MOGAI gender based on that. And I did!
Feel free to share your thoughts and feedback on this, as it is also my first time making a full MOGAI gender. Also, feel free to use it if you feel it somehow reflects well with you. Feel free to repost with or without credit, but tell me after the fact so that I know how well its doing

for trans day of visibility, here are some of my marauders hcs (spoiler alert: all of them are trans)
james
demiboy
he/they pronouns
crop tops give him gender euphoria (plus they make reggie blush so...)
thought they were cis, wore a flower crown once and immediately thought "yup, not a man"
reg helped him pick a label
sirius
genderfluid
any pronouns but mostly they/he
one day they're wearing the fanciest most dramatic gown and the next the chunkiest leather jacket and remus' jumper
full face of makeup at all times
wears colour coded bracelets to let their friends know what pronouns to use when the gender flows
remus
transmasc
he/him pronouns
came out at the age of 5, hope and lyall did everything in their power to make their little rem rem feel comfortable
chose the name remus for the irony
when asked abt his gender his responses are "old libraries" "a full moon" "earl grey"
peter
agender
they/he/she pronouns
thinks neopronouns are so cool but doesn't know how to use them
calls herself a "triple a battery" (get it? cause they're agender, asexual and aromantic)
would absolutely verbally destroy anyone who dares misgender his friends but can't stand up for themself
lily
polygender
she/they pronouns
is completely ok with being called she but absolutely lights up when ppl use they/them to refer to them
started wearing pronoun pins on her uniform after pandora gave them one as a gift and never took it off
no one dares make fun of them bc the first (and last) person who did it got hexed so hard they ended up in the hospital wing and lily got her first detention ever
marlene
genderqueer
they/she pronouns
loves skirts but hates dresses because she can't bind
didn't understand why it was so uncomfortable for them to wear dresses until pete came out
closeted with their family but out to everyone else
mary
demigirl
she/her pronouns for the general public, she/they pronouns for close friends
tries to incorporate her flag on every outfit, either a pin, a bracelet, graphic liner or just wearing the colours
isn't uncomfortable with being called a girl but doesn't really sit right with them either
prefers to be called "lover" rather than "girlfriend"
regulus
trans man
he/him pronouns
taught sirius how to do makeup in exchange of them cutting his hair
tattoed waves over his top surgery scars
has an inhumane amount of knowledge about microlabels and niche identities
pandora
transfem
she/her pronouns
flowy dresses give her the biggest gender euphoria
thought she was a straight guy but didn't feel right about it, when she figured out she was just a trans lesbian it all made sense
really into greek mythology and picked the name pandora because of the myth
dorcas
genderfae
they/them pronouns
has so many pronoun and flag pins in their bag at all times and gives them away to anyone who asks
constantly has to correct teachers on their pronouns
hyperfemme gender expression at all times because "fuck gender norms, my skirt doesn't dictate my gender, you know my pronouns so fucking use them"
barty
bigender
he/she pronouns
saw dorcas doing panda's makeup after she came out, asked them if they would do hers and felt so insanely happy looking in the mirror after they were done
black eyeliner in his bag at all times
her gender could better be described as "skate park"
evan
"no clue but definitely not a cis man"
they/he pronouns
uses "girl" as gender neutral
doesn't want to label their gender, bangs on about it being a social construct and "can't be arsed to define it"
when the gender dysphoria hits, he draws on their arms with a felt tip pen, barty started noticing this pattern and ever since then, evan asks her to draw on them instead

I'm not sure if you'd identify as an elder queer, but you're older than I am. Do you know if baby queers have ever been this into discourse (TME/TMA, Anti-multigender anti-neopronouns etc.)? Or is it a relatively new phenomenon?
Oh geez. I don't think 32 is a queer elder. But yeah I know of a few times when this was a thing. I can think of three things.
When I was first getting involved around 10-15 years ago there was a lot of ideas on what a trans person's experience was. You didn't "become" a new gender, you were always that gender and experienced the world as that gender and if you described yourself in any other way you had internalized transphobia. I think that's honestly what lead to why people are so cruel to trans men now when practically, that just not how a lot of trans people experience their gender. I would say that many, if not most transgender people internalize their assigned gender at birth for a large part of their early lives, especially those of us that transition as adults (I transitioned at 19) and it's that dissonance that we feel as we're starting to self actualize that eventually makes us realize we're trans.
Then there was a lot of talk about the morality of going stealth and if you owed it to your romantic/sexual partners to inform them that you were trans before you slept with them. I'm not touching this one because I think both sides said some really out of pocket things.
The other thing is when I was in my early twenties, I don't think I met a single trans woman under 30 that wasn't really weird about abortion and pregnancy. (and I was meeting a lot of trans people back then.) As in they were anti-abortion. I don't know what was in the water but it was foul how some of them spoke about it. To this day it's kind of a yellow flag to me when I hear transfemmes bring it up just because of how consistent a pattern it was when I was a young person. And it was never trans women in their thirties and forties. It was always younger women, like teens and early twenties. Maybe I just had bad luck but it kept being a problem I experienced for a good five or six years.
