it’s been a little over a week since pando went back to his breeder and i am significantly more comforted & assured by returning him given how peaceful my house has been since. and a part of it makes me feel guilty both as a dog owner and hobbyist trainer that i could never achieve this level of peace with him here but at the same time it cements my decision as the right one
+ it helps that his breeder has been sending me updates of him doing fantastic almost every day
#finch especially…. he is acting a lot better#it both hurts to see (bc he stopped doing a lot of his fun little behaviors)#and i truly did not notice how many of them just. didn’t happen anymore#but it also makes me happy to see them again#he’s back to smacking me with his paws and sneezing in my face when he wants attention#and he hasn’t done that in months :#lil happy finch noises#personal

could you recommend an indie game that does disco elysium or its kind of game better? (/genuine)
i'd be happy to recommend some games to you for sure!
but i would like to preface this by saying that my point (which is hard to explain in a pithy tag aside to be fair lol) isn't necessarily that these will be "better" than disco elysium. that's incredibly hard to quantify anyway since so much of this is based on taste. e.g. i disliked some things about DE other people loved (like the pacing) even though i overall had a good time with the game.
it's more that the way people were talking about disco elysium, especially in terms of like... "professional video game journalism" but also definitely on this site and the other formerly blue side, was tinged with this tone that DE is somehow unique or groundbreaking in its attempt to treat a video game like an artform or a serious vehicle for storytelling. which is insulting especially to the games DE clearly draws from.
a lot of people who don't usually play video games played DE based on recommendations, which is great! but a huge part of the response from those people didn't seem to be "wow, clearly i can have a good time with video games if they're like this, i should seek out more". it instead seemed to be "well folks, pack it up, this is the one video game i will enjoy because it's Deep unlike everything else out there". which is incredibly disappointing.
anyway. whether these recommendations will hit for you will primarily depend on what you're looking for when you say "its kind of game", but here's some games that gave me the same general feeling.
planescape: torment is the game that heavily inspired disco elysium. it's a similarly combat-light crpg with a focus on exploration and story and set in a weird, technologically discongruent setting. i would also recommend its sequel, torment: tides of numenera. i didn't enjoy that one as much but it was still pretty good.
kentucky road zero is a game about a truck driver who has to cross the titular road zero and the many people he meets on the way. it's also magical realism so if you enjoyed the genre of disco elysium this might be up your alley.
beautiful desolation is another game which is based on real world culture/history with sci-fi world building on top. in this case south africa. it's really beautiful and rewards exploration in a similar way.
return of the obra dinn is also an atmospheric detective game set on a ship lost in 1803. it's by the same creator who made papers, please (which is also excellent by the way).
hypnospace outlaw has a similar half absurd, half earnest tone. it also felt similarly nostalgic to me. it's incredibly easy to sink a lot of time into this one though so watch out lol.
orwell, and its sequel, orwell: ignorance is strength, are similar "internet" simulators like HO with a much more overt political tone (if you couldn't tell by the name lol). you play as an employee for a government surveillance program.
stasis if you're looking for more isometric point and click games with a strong atmosphere and great voice acting.
sunless sea, and its sequel, sunless skies, are exploration/roguelike games about a weird, fantastical world. if you've ever played fallen london, they're set in the same universe.
what remains of edith finch is also magical realism and dark comedy, so if you enjoyed the tone of DE you might enjoy that.
some say it has always been here also has a surreal and sometimes oppressive atmosphere. i wish this game was longer, i loved it so much.
i miss the sea of japan is another wonderful bitsy game i got reminded of when i thought about SSIHABH. it's wistful and sweet.
i have no mouth and i must scream is a psychological thriller about five people and their dark pasts trying to outwit an AI. it's very atmospheric and also has variously fucked up (by life) protagonists.
whispers of a machine is another detective game with more of a sci-fi slant, though it's set in a world inspired by sweden and other nordic countries. it's also very atmospheric and has some great voice acting.
buddy simulator 1984 gave me a lot of the same feelings disco elysium did (wistfulness, nostalgia, anxiety, etc lol). i really loved the first half of the game but wasn't as into the second half, would absolutely still recommend it though.
and if we're talking just straight up great crpgs with a heavily political tone, i will always always always recommend harebrained schemes shadowrun trilogy (especially dragonfall and hong kong, both incredible games. returns is... fine lol but definitely not on the level of the sequels) and fallout 1 and 2.
plus, no rec list about magical realism would be complete without life is strange. :') i haven't played any of the sequels and it's been a long time since i played it, but i remember loving it at the time.
games i haven't played yet but that are on my to play list and which look like they could scratch the same itch:
citizen sleeper, also a dice based game which is very narrative and exploration based.
norco, which several of my friends love a lot.
where the water tastes like wine, which is set in the great depression era of the US and about collecting stories and sharing them.
pentiment, another detective game set in a real world approximation. i love everything obsidian touches so i'm sure it's great, but i haven't gotten round to it yet.
night in the woods seems to be popular with people who like DE so it might be up your alley. i'm pretty sure it's also magical realism?
roadwarden is another isometric point and click game about exploration and friends have said it has a great atmosphere.
i hope those are a good starting point for you! i would also genuinely recommend just hopping on itch.io and typing in a random prompt and seeing what you get. i've discovered sooo many wonderful games (many of them completely free, though i will always advocate for tipping the creators) by just noodling around on there. tons and tons of incredible indie games who don't have the luxury of publisher funding made by people who could really use the support.
enjoy and have a lovely day ^__^

OK, some final belated thoughts on Season 3 before I move on to something new.
At this point, it doesn’t seem very controversial to suggest that the show often handles Faith’s killing of Allan Finch less than perfectly. In particular, I think it’s a real shame that the writers either forgot (or just didn’t care?) that Giles himself once accidentally killed a man, especially as they did remember this fact last season, when it was Buffy who thought she’d killed a man.
(And though I defended – and will continue to defend – Buffy’s actions re:Ted when I talked about the eponymous episode of Season 2 in the rewatch last year, I do think they are harder to defend than what Faith did to Finch in Bad Girls. Yes, Buffy had grounds to think Ted was a threat to her, but she also thought he was a human, and she hit him anyway. She didn’t hurt him by mistake. In the heat of the moment, Faith really did believe that Finch was a vampire, which – in the setting of the show, in the immediate context of the episode – was a pretty reasonable assumption to make. Lunging at an armed stranger in a dark alley probably wasn’t a very smart move on the part of the late Mr Finch.)
So it’s a little jarring when, in Consequences, Angel starts to give Faith the big “I too, know what it’s like to deliberately kill people for fun: it was addictive and I loved doing it” speech. Faith’s dismissive reaction – “sounds like you need some help. A professional, maybe.”-- is, on the evidence so far, surely entirely justified. At this point in the show, it is Giles, and not Angel, who Faith is most similar to. It feels rather like the writers are trying to force a comparison that – at least for now – simply isn’t there.
Especially since the way Consequences is written it seems clear we’re meant to think that this speech is somehow “getting through to” Faith until Wesley’s ill-timed interruption. Only … why would it be? Angel’s problem – a love of murder for the sake of murder – and his solution to that problem – getting cursed with a human soul – are both entirely meaningless to Faith, who already has a soul and has not in fact demonstrated any interest in murder for the sake of murder. (And who might be claiming not to feel bad about Finch’s death, but must be on some level if Buffy’s intervention on her behalf makes any sense.)
Faith is not Angel. Not yet, anyway.
(That being said, there is another reading of the show where Angel isn’t getting through to Faith at all, but only convincing her that she needs to try to become more like him, especially if she’s going to win over Buffy. I’m not at all sure that this is the reading intended by the writers, but I think it fits the evidence a lot better than the other reading at this point. You can quite easily read Faith’s arc in the last third of the season as a deliberate – and not quite unsuccessful – attempt to remold herself in Angel’s image: to become somebody who really wouldn’t care about killing a human being by mistake, and who might even enjoy doing it. And I do think that Angel’s second big attempt at connecting with Faith a year later, for all that it treads a lot of the same ground, makes a lot more sense in context.)
On the other hand, I think the show should get a little more credit for the conscious Buffy and Faith parallels than I sometimes see it given.
Just as sometimes people point out that the show presents Angel behaving in some rather disturbing ways in Season 2 (“falling in love” with a teenage girl after driving past her school and catching a glimpse of her, for instance) without acknowledging that the show is – at least intermittently – very aware of this, I think people who defend Faith by saying that Buffy has also killed things that look and act like people are missing the fact that this is a tension the show is very conscious about. I think Buffy’s many nights spent indiscriminately slaying demons and vampires is something the show definitely wants us to think about. By this point of the show, we’re clearly not meant to be entirely okay with all the death Buffy herself is responsible for..
(Sometimes I see the suggestion that Buffy is different from Faith because she only kills vampires and demons who are an imminent threat to human life or trying to hurt people, but that is simply not true. Buffy patrols cemeteries in the middle of night – cemeteries notably lacking in casual passersby – looking for newly risen vampires to stake before they know what’s happening. She attacks demons on sight – or at least, she does until the show decides some demons are okay, which is something that only starts to happen this season. In the original conception of the show – from the era of the Master and Luke and the Anointed One – we’re just not meant to think that proactively killing vampires could ever be a problem.)
When Buffy confronts Faith for the last time in Graduation Day she asks her something.
“What's the matter? All that killing and you’re afraid to die?”
How are we to interpret this question under the old rules of the show? At this point of the story, Faith has killed exactly two human beings: Allan Finch (by accident!) and Professor Worth (admittedly not at all by accident). At the risk of being a Faith apologist (which, well, I guess is what I am, but...), the phrase “all that killing” hardly applies here, does it?
… unless, that is, you count all the various vampires and demons that we’ve seen Faith kill recently (including the demon in Enemies who tried to sell her the Books of Ascension, a demon whose killing definitely appears to bother Faith at the time and to disgust Buffy when she finds the body). Faith certainly has killed enough of them for the phrase “all that killing” to apply. Bur crucially, so has Buffy herself. (She’s killed far more of them, in fact. As Faith told her at the start of the season, she’s been doing this the longest.)
So I think we’re meant to understand Buffy’s question in the Season 3 finale as part of a conversation with herself that started in the Season 1 finale Prophecy Girl and will continue all the way to the Season 5 finale The Gift (and arguably beyond). That’s why Faith exists in the narrative in the first place, after all. Not to be a version of Angel, but to be a version of Buffy. A reflection, a mirror, a shadow. Somebody Buffy was, and is, and might have been. It’s what Faith has been arguing all season (“anything I have to answer for, you do too”, she insisted to Buffy in Consequences), and something that – to people other than Faith – Buffy has already admitted (“She had it rough,” she told Willow in Doppelgangland, “Different circumstances, that could be me.”).
So let’s talk a bit about some other versions of Buffy, and try to place this question in its proper context.
The Buffy of Prophecy Girl told her Watcher that she was still a child (“Giles, I’m sixteen years old…”) and that she didn’t want to die. Her reaction to learning what would happen to her if she faced her destiny was to beg her mother to take her out of harm's way ("Mom, let's go away ... anywhere ... Mom, please"). Years later, the adult Buffy of The Gift will tell that same Watcher that she doesn’t see the point of going on in a world without her mother, a world where everything gets stripped away”. Later still, she’ll tell her sister that living is “the hardest thing in the world” and then voluntarily jump to her own death rather than lose another family member. “Death is [her] gift”, as that season will keep reminding her.
And halfway between these moments, in the Season 3 finale, we have a Buffy who is only on the cusp of becoming an adult. A Buffy who has died once, but “only for a minute”. A Buffy who just sent her mother away from danger because she couldn’t save the world while worrying about her, where the younger Buffy had instead pleaded with her mother to protect her.
This Buffy looks at her fellow Slayer – at somebody who she knows she could have been herself, at somebody who is not just her narrative shadow but a living reminder of the fact she’s died once and it maybe wasn’t quite that bad, at somebody like her who kills vampires and monsters and maybe enjoys doing it a little too much – and it’s easy to imagine her confronting her tearful younger self in the school library again, hearing the prophecy that her calling as a Slayer will end with her own death.
“What’s the matter?”, the older Buffy asks her younger self bluntly. “All that killing and you’re afraid to die?”

waterborne poetry reactions (belated) (long post)
XINGQIU GOT FUCKING SMASHED IN THIS EVENT. BULLYING XINGQIU HOURS I LOVE TO SEE IT (affectionate)
bro got roasted for his handwriting, is Baffled by the mondstadters, then spends an entire day missing out on [whatever that was] and STILL DOESNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT HAPPENED HAHAHA im sorry i love bullying him
please never tell xingqiu whats going on it's payback <3
CHONGYUN DIONA AND MIKA. i need to hold them omg,,,, i was using freminet to wander around so in my heart they r just 4 cryo kids in a terrarium what will they do!! that combo was quite cute
CHONGYUN YANG MODE?!?!?!?!?! ON SCREEN??????? WAAAAHHHHHHHHH
he was adorable ;;;;;___;;;;; his little eye sparkles and the jumping T_T also the near-rap speed that his lines were delivered in was hilarious (thank you kinsen for ur service)
my son.... please never feed him chilis again
CHONGYUN IMPACT. that's all
now full of unfounded hope that chongyun will someday get an event about his pure yang spirit since they mentioned it a fair few times here
give him the deep lore he deserves
also XIAOYUN?!?!?!?! (only seeing what i want to see) THEY TALKED!!!! IN PERSON ON SCREEN THEY TALKED AND XIAO WASNT DISPARAGING!!!! im sorry this is what a rarepair with no food does to a mf
xiaolumi so strong (or xiaother if u prefer)
oughguhguhg the rhyming couplets part was SOOOO CUTE!! idk they did good with the pacing of the banter i think 🥺
adding onto that the camera angles and cuts this event were actually really nice and creative i think. they made it more engaging (the quick pan from chongyun to xingqiu at the end of the 3rd act, hu tao popping out from behind venti's shoulders during the couplet exchange, etc) it was REALLY good really funny. added to the experience a lot <3
Also venti zhongli are truly the most archon old friends ever
that cutscene was actually so pretty. It's drawn in the same style as Lyney's: very textured lines, slightly reminscent of linocuts, quite a few handdrawn parts, especially where there's water/liquid movement present, etc. Maybe this is a Fontaine style animated cutscene, since the oceanids and lyney are both from there? anyways. i'm intrigued—I wanna see if there are regional cutscene styles or something (that'd be very impressive)
the "close ur eyes paimon/diona" line was so fucking funny. traveler's been the third wheel a bunch of times but never this explicitly
also ! for people icked out by the morality of kid finch's crush on the oceanid: it is Fiction with a capital F
on the one hand I agree with the above sentiment, but it's also just funny to think about. first canon monsterfucker ? /JJJJJJJJJJJJJ don't kill me for that joke
Real thoughts: I think it was actually really sweet how he fell in love with a fairytale. Someone said the oceanid could've been aromantic coded to make their love story more morally palatable; I agree, it would've been cool if she was aro, but I don't think their romantic relationship is like somehow terrible and gross either
overall ending was really mid tbh, I appreciate the character growth of everyone who was on screen but literally all the other characters just disappeared. It was really unsatisfying lol especially for an event that was supposed to be hte gathering/unison of mond and liyue
would've been better if the second day's rhyming couplets ended the event I think; you'd have to tweak it to fit the mood of the oceanid/finch reveal but literally anything works, the ending was so anticlimactic
overall event: 10/10 for giving me the character interactions I wanted, and those that I never knew I needed, 5/10 because the minigames are. not the best, I get the intentions but the execution could've been better. And then 5/10 for story arc (heavily influenced by how mid the ending was LMAO)
I want to go through all the poems and their english translations because I Know somethings gonna get screwed up and I'm also just curious as to how they translated it
#oh also. chongyun diona something i never knew i needed#very disappointed that hu tao disappeared though!! like come on even how they wrote her out was so lazy#same can be said for xq and noelle though like thats foul 'oh theyre just busy' LIKE ???? WHY WERENT THEY BUSY YESTERDAY#ramblings!#liveblog insanity#waterborne poetry#4.1 spoilers#genshin spoilers#event spoilers#waterborne poetry spoilers#genshin impact#xiaoyun

I want to hear from you as a fellow shipper: 1. Out of all the humans that Sigewinne has encountered in her probably long life, what makes Wriothesley special? 2. In turn, what makes Sigewinne special to Wriothesley? Side note: Fontaine has really been emphasising on the human-non-human relationships (Neuvia, Callirhoe and Finch, Neuvifuri) and how they have changed each other, and I would be very happy if they do continue in that direction and give us significant Wriosige moments. I personally think that their best dynamic would be a complementary contrast to NeuviFuri's - as in NeuviFuri revolutionised against the tyranny of Celestia and the Heavenly Principles and were the lead actors in the drama that was Act V, but WrioSige are more down-to-earth and "realistic", quietly improving the Fortress one reform at a time (and because it's been bugging me a lot, I hope post-Archon Quest events give ample time to develop the reforms of the justice system in Fontaine bc if it's as simple as "Neuvi ascends to power" it's still a shit system).
Do they have to be special? Is it not enough that, of all the people they've met across their lives, something slowly came to life as they spent time together?
I don't know much about love, really. I'm aromantic, so it's a feeling that will forever be out of my grasp. But I do know I don't really believe in soulmates, or in "the one". I believe you either find, or build a connection with someone, and that "someone" can be many people.
I do think Sigewinne has been Wriothesley's only romantic interest across his life, if just because he was sent to Meropide when he was still very young - 10 to 15 years old, most likely, considering Genshin seems allergic to characters older than 30. You can fall for your fellow inmates, Avice and Faissolle have shown as much, but under the previous warden I doubt that was much of an option - and his focus was largely elsewhere. As was everyone else's, really. Every day was pretty much a fight to survive. And that leaves Sigewinne, who was likely there before the previous warden and who will still be there once someone takes over after Wriothesley. Her existence almost feels separate from the rest of the prison. Pair that with the fact that he fought a lot and so probably saw her a lot to get patched up, and she starts standing out to him. She's kind, but she isn't naive. Humans to her are both endearing and interesting, and neither of those feelings are malicious. And she's much, much smarter and older than she looks. Compared to what most other people in Meropide had to offer, plus those inhuman traits unique to her, no wonder she caught his eye and later on his heart.
Sigewinne, though, has lived a long time. Several centuries is a safe assumption. We know from Neuvillette's story quest that the relationship between humans and mélusines hasn't always been good, but it's been better for many decades. And with her interest in them, I'm willing to bet several humans caught her attention long before Wriothesley was even born - likely all for different reasons too. She might not have understood her own feelings back then, though - in fact she might only have come around to understanding "love" by the time she met Wriothesley. Those that came before him paved the way, in a way. If she were to find a pattern across all those that caught her eye, I'd say she likes strong characters. People who stand their ground and keep their beliefs at heart even when all the odds are stacked against them. It's fascinating to her, because it's not a feeling that comes naturally to her the way it does to them. She sees a spark in them, one that's very literal in her mélusine eyes, and she's drawn to it. And maybe they remind her of an old friend, too.
(And my friend I sure hope we'll get more interactions between them as more patches come out. As you said, Fontaine has been delivering on the side of relationships with nonhumans and I want more of it. Especially these two. They're so casually married, I'm still not over the photos conversation.)
#ask#answer#rainycloudmountain#wriowinne#structure? i hardly know her#but yeah i don't know#maybe i misunderstood the ask maybe this is just an Aro Moment#maybe the wording confused me#i don't know how to interpret them being special to each other#sigewinne had many humans who were special to her#each one was a learning experience until wriothesley came along#and she'd finally learned enough by then#he came at the right time and he was the type of person that appealed to her#i hope he knows how lucky he is#and then wriothesley... didn't have much of an opportunity to find anyone else#he could have after the end of his sentence#but sigewinne was already in meropide and so she too came at the right time#before anyone else even had a chance#they both lucked out in that way#what am i saying at this point#this is such a long answer my god

Hi for noah 🔫🌪📖 thanks!
I'mma group up a few of your asks for a mass info dump on the Finch's ehe.. 🤭
Noah:
🔫 PISTOL - do they trust people easily? how easily will they turn their back to someone? have they been backstabbed before? will they betray someone if given an ultimatum?
I'd say he trusts people averagely lmao.. he'll be somewhat dubious of trusting someone until he knows them better at least! A past girlfriend cheated on him so I'd say he's been backstabbed but I doubt he'd betray anyone if given a chance, not on purpose anyway.
🌪️ TORNADO - what is the biggest change you've ever made to them? how have they changed from their original version?
To be fair, I think Noah's probably changed the least out of everyone 😂
📖 OPEN BOOK - do they like reading? what's their favourite genre?
Ooh he loves reading! He likes non-fiction, especially books about art, colour theory, architecture yada yada.. he also likes mystery/thriller type fiction.
Alton:
🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?
Nah, he doesn't give enough of a shit to put up a front around people 😂 although I suppose he'll tone down the dad jokes around strangers, shame...
📸 CAMERA - do they enjoy having their picture taken? what's their go-to pose? do they like taking photos? what do they take photos of?
He doesn't mind! His go to pose is probably throwing an arm around someone and grinning.. idk what he'd do in a photo alone though ahah, maybe that'd be a bit awkward. He's not good at taking photos himself though, always pressing the wrong button and doing the classic dad squint cos he doesn't understand what he did wrong 🙄
✂️ SCISSORS - what is the "last straw" for them to cut someone out of their life? how easily do they let go of people?
He's too lazy and too much of a pushover to cut anyone out of his life, even if they deserved it. I mean, he put up with a lot of shit from Sidney way back when, as an example.. 😅
Sidney:
📎 PAPERCLIP - a random fact.
Sid hates wearing dresses/skirts.
🖍️ CRAYON - what advice would you give to them?
You don't always have to be in control.. and stop working so hard!
📦 PACKAGE - what are some "most likely to..." that can apply to them?
Most likely to cause an argument during a family gathering.. I wonder where Oscar gets it from?
#ranswers#oc ask game#extra#noah#alton#sidney#i'm sure i've said this before..#but i loooove how different all the finch's are#yet still make a cute cohesive bunch.. for the most part anyway 🙈😅#maybe not in the past lmaoo#but shh

5 Things You Never Get Tired of Writing
Thanks for the tag @the-finch-address and @whimsyqueen
@writingonesdreams also wanted to know the answer to this question
Sympathetic Villains - Don’t get me wrong, I love a good villain who is just completely evil and terrifying. I don’t think every villain needs to be relatable or have a sad backstory, and sometimes it annoys me in media when villains get an unbelievable redemption arc or a sad backstory that is supposed to make them relatable but is actually just stupid. And yet here I am over here giving all my antagonists sad backstories. I just really love morally gray antagonists and antagonists who could have been heroes if they’d chosen differently or been given different chances or if someone had believed in them. One of my favorite antagonists of all time is Lex Luthor form Smallville because he tried so so hard to be different and to be better but ended up a villain anyway, not because he was doomed from the start but ultimately because he chose to give up on believing he could be a hero.
Sad Backstories - they aren’t just for my antagonists. Everyone gets a sad backstory! No one is safe from the Angst Hammer or the Mighty Blade of Trauma. I put my characters through so much emotional pain.
Hurt/Comfort - especially of the emotional variety. Yes I also love when one character (Nix) gets injured and someone has to take care of them, but what I love even more than that is when one character (Nix) is struggling to deal with all their angst and emotional trauma and someone comforts them.
The dark-haired, angsty, brooding character trope - I just can’t stay away from them. I love to watch them. I love to write them. I love to torment them. I love to give them a found family.
The brooding one and the sunshine one but as best friends - Two people who seem like they would never get along but are best friends and found family. YES PLEASE. The sunshine one calling the brooding one a dumbass as a form of endearment. The brooding one acting all annoyed all the time but would actually die for the sunshine one. YES PLEASE. I will write this dynamic into every story and you can’t stop me.
-
Yeah a lot of these are related to each other. Yeah based on this list my wip is basically the most self-indulgent thing I could possibly write.
Tagging some people. I know this has been going around and I’ve been kind of checked out so sorry if you’ve already done it. Feel free to tag me in it so I can see it, or just ignore me. @emelkae @psychic-timetraveler @bloodlessheirbyjacques plus Open Tag for anyone who wants it

Hawkfrost Is The Father Of The Three, And Ferncloud Raises Them With Dustpelt AU
So
I don't ship these two, nor can I picture these two in any sort of healthy relationship because of just how bad Hawkfrost is
that being said
tw; manipulation, gr**ming and abuse
I'm also going to be combining it with this AU request cause they ended up feeling like they fit together
During one of her visits to talk to Mothwing, Leafpaw comes face to face with Hawkfrost. She's very cautious about the tom, knowing his own sister doesn't trust him, but he comes off as charming and charismatic
She asks him politely not to tell on her being here and he responds with being rather flirty, assuring he'd never let such a cute she-cat get in trouble, flustering her and causing her to run off
Leafpaw in confused as she personally hasn't had any cat flirt with her, as everyone knows they're not supposed to with her being a medicine cat apprentice
She ends up getting more and more curious about this tom while her sister is off on her adventure with the chosen cats and takes to trying to casually watch him whenever she can, namely while gathering herbs near the border or soaking moss
He's quick to notice
One of the times while she's alone, he confronts her about watching her, saying if she wanted to see more of him, she could just ask She tries to object, shaking away these weirdly uncomfortable feelings, but he gives her a very affectionate lick before leaving, causing her even more confusion
Hawkfrost works hard to earn her positive favor, leaving little gifts such as herbs, prey, and other small things where he usually sees her. Leafpaw, unsure of what else to do, ends up accepting these gifts.
He also starts giving her these gifts in person, causing her to struggle with what she knew She trusts Mothwing, who says Hawkfrost has done bad things But Hawkfrost is showing he's not a bad cat after all
After some time, Hawkfrost starts making little comments, namely against the company Leafpaw usually kept when she wasn't alone "Sorreltail just tries to act like she's better than you by taking control of situations, huh?" "Cinderpelt really doesn't trust you to gather herbs alone?" "Brightheart seems to be more worried about her daughter than she does helping medicine cats, doesn't she?"
Over time Leafpaw is filled with more confusion and doubt and starts spending less and less time near camp Hawkfrost still visits her often and, after the chosen have come back, he starts getting more physically affectionate towards her, sharing tongues with her and having her cuddle with him
Leafpaw still has doubts but she's conflicted about them
On the journey to the lake, after this had been going on for some time, Leafpaw opens up to Squirrelpaw about what's been going on and Squirrelpaw immediately doesn't like or trust Hawkfrost, especially when Leafpaw expresses some doubts about him but is quick to excuse them
She brings Squirrelpaw's feelings up to Hawkfrost and he's quick to try to turn her against her sister, making her rather uncomfortable as she's sure her sister is the only cat she truly trusts
They get to the lake territories and Hawkfrost tries to convince Leafpaw to join RiverClan, but she declines, stating her family is in ThunderClan and that she doesn't want to leave them
Despite his pressuring and her unsure feelings, she does still visit him as often as she can, sneaking around territories because she doesn't have many cats to talk to since she dropped almost all her friendships for him
Leafpool and Squirrelflight have their full names when the in-fighting in WindClan gets worse
When the WindClan coup happens and Mudclaw states Hawkfrost as one who helped him and Leafpool quickly turns to Mothwing, whom she had been hanging out with less and less, and asks her if this is true
Mothwing, though rightfully hurt by Leafpool leaving her alone, confirms the ThunderClan she-cat's fears and Leafpool goes to confront Hawkfrost
Hawkfrost tries denying at first and even tries to brush it off and be casual as he tries to show her more physical affection, but she hisses at him and demands the truth
There's a long bit where he dodges the truth, before he gives up trying to be nice and tells her, bluntly, that Tigerstar had told him to 'get her out of the picture' by any means And he was 'trying to be nice' and not kill her, since Mothwing liked her, and then blames her for 'what happens next' and attacks Leafpool
Thankfully Squirrelflight caught wind, thanks to Mothwing, and comes to her sister's rescue, attacking the tom and running off with a wounded Leafpool by her side
Leafpool is in shock and sick to her stomach with what Hawkfrost said and did She tells her sister everything, including that she was still seeing him after Squirrelflight told her to stop and how he wanted her to no longer talk to Squilf and join RiverClan.
When the two bring this to Brambleclaw, the tom is skeptical and doesn't trust what they're saying, and when he brings this up to Hawkfrost, he's less clear about how to feel.
Hawkfrost's death goes down the same as canon.
Leafpool finds out she's pregnant and is horrified, as she knows that the only option of the father is her abuser
Squirrelflight, despite being single [as Brambleclaw's dismissal of her sister's abuse and Ashfur's babying of her pushed her away from both toms], insists on helping her as she's worried for Leafpool
There is a lot of debate and the two end up accidentally being overheard by Ferncloud. She doesn't ask questions, seeing the distressed look on Leafpool's face and simply states that she'll adopt the kits as if they were her own. She even manages to convince her mate, Dustpelt, to agree, though he thinks he's adopting Squirrelflight's kits and not the halfClan kits of a medicine cat as Ferncloud is aware it would've been harder to talk him into it otherwise
Three kits are born in secret - a brown and white tabby tom, a tortoiseshell tabby she-cat, and a mostly white tom with brown patches. Ferncloud names the first on Finchkit, Squirrelflight names the second one Hollykit, and Leafpool names the last one Lionkit hoping the tom will be strong enough to outlive his unfortunate circumstances. In this AU Icekit and Foxkit are born a couple moon earlier than they were in canon and are a couple days younger than the Three.
They bring the kits home and Dustpelt immediately dotes over the five of them, not even caring which ones might be Squirrelflight's and which ones might be his. He doesn't even tell any of the kits otherwise. To him they are his five wonderful kits.
Ferncloud and Dustpelt are wonderful parents to the kits, Dustpelt teaching them the importance of tradition while Ferncloud teaches them to care about others
TPoT goes through canon somewhat normally, aside from Finchpaw being confused on why he was able to see a prophecy about Firestar's kin when he isn't related at all to Firestar. However, once Lionpaw is training in the Dark Forest, he is confused when Hawkfrost refers to Lion, Finch, and Holly as his kits
Hawkfrost reveals the secret, wanting Lionpaw to know that the Clan isn't being entirely truthful.
Lionpaw isn't sure how to feel about this
He confronts Ferncloud and Dustpelt. Dustpelt is shocked to hear Leafpool's name, but there's only a minor argument about lying with a promise to be truthful in the future, as Ferncloud admits it's not her story to tell and he understands.
Lionpaw, Finchpaw, and Hollypaw are taken with Dustpelt to talk to Leafpool, where she opens up about the abuse she faced at Hawkfrost's paws and how he used her. Dustpelt, who came in angry, is more understanding at the end as he remembers how Tigerstar, Hawkfrost's father, hurt his brother, Ravenpaw to the point of running away
The apprentices are confused, asking if she wanted them, and she assured it had nothing to do with them and more to do with the tom that sired them
When Lionpaw expresses anger towards Leafpool, Dustpelt scolds him, telling the tom that the hardest thing for a queen to do is give up kits and telling him that it was brave for Leafpool
Lionpaw confronts Hawkfrost and is lied to and the apprentice storms off, not wanting to hear it once the Dark Forest warrior starts bad-talking Ferncloud and Dustpelt
Hollypaw struggles with the news, as she was raised that medicine cats should never have kits, but her father is being forgiving of this on exception She ends up talking with Ferncloud about it and gaining an understanding that things happen out of anther cat's control and they can't help it
Finchpaw and Leafpool come to an agreement that he doesn't have to think of her as his mother and that Ferncloud was the one who raised and cared for him better than she could He still knows, but he accepts that he was adopted and is alright with that, as it gave him a family he needed
This is as far as I got mentally with this, but there's no big secret, though Ashfur being a problem can probably still be a plot or something
idk
a lot of these plots revolve around TPoT, so there's only so much new I can add dsakhf
#au#two aus in one#leafpool#hawkfrost#ferncloud#dustpelt#warriors#warrior cats#tw; abuse#tw; manipulation#tw; implied grooming#i got these two aus back to back#and as i was working on the first one#i realized#i could work on the second#at the same time

HI YOU HAVE SCYTHE OCS?
Tell me about them please
YES ACTUALLY!!!
I WAS WORKING ON A HUGE ASS INFO DUMP ABT THEM BUT FORGET ABT IT FOR A BIT SO ITS NOT FINISHED BUT HERES WHAT I HAVE SO FAR
—
OKAY SO LIKE, Scythe Chaucer (Real name Alden Harper, Scythe Name after Geoffrey Chaucer the father of english literature bc my man loves literature) like most scythes especially in the new order never really like tonists, he always saw them as crazy weirdos but he never like had a SERIOUS hatred towards them to the point of mass-gleanings (*cough cough* Goddard) He’d only been a scythe for around 3 years, but got used to it rather quickly.
One day he had selected a tonist to glean, his method would be a quick poison injection with little to no pain. And there he met Dorian Finch, another tonist similar in age to him who was NOT happy with his presence. He kept sneering at the scythe the leave, trying to get him to not glean his fellow tonist.
Now Chaucer found this rlly interesting, as a scythe he was always given whatever he wanted, people would do anything for a scythe, they were above the common person, but to find someone who outwardly challenged him even threatening him, definitely intrigued him.
[“Well, aren’t you something? Y’know it’s a really bad idea to threaten a scythe.” Chaucer said with a smirk. Dorian flinched a bit, but stood his ground. “Ha! Don’t worry, I’m not as horrible as you think, not gonna glean you for something like that.” He said. “Y’know I thought all you tonists would immediately fold in the presence of a scythe, guess you proved me wrong! But I still have to glean your friend, good on you for trying though.” Chaucer told Dorian in a cheery yet patronizing tone.
“Get out, right now.” Dorian repeated once again. Chaucer smiled at him, if he could Dorian would rip that damn smile off of him. But he knew he couldn’t. “Y’know it’s a shame you’re a tonist, you could be a pretty good scythe with that attitude.” The scythe told him. That made him angry. “I’m nothing like you! I’ll never stoop to your level.” Dorian sneered. “We’ll see about that.” And with that he dragged the other tonist away to glean him, with little resistance from the others. He sighed, he failed despite his efforts. That which comes can’t be avoided he supposed.]
Dorian of course had to get over it. Scythe deaths weren’t accepted by tonists, but it haunted him in the back of his head. Specifically what Chancer said. That he’d be a good scythe. This completely baffled him, that’s the last thing they’d wanna be compared too. Dorian hated Scythes, they saw them as the true evil of the modern age. He always wondered if life would be better in mortal times, a lot of tonist-living was about mimicking it after all. But to be actually there, it always intrigued him.
Meanwhile Chaucer also had a lot to think about, he’d never seen a tonist act like that in person, though he had heard stories. And he had an idea brewing. He always wanted to be renounced, famous, like how Goddard was even if he didn’t like him.
—
I do plan on finishing this info-dump so don’t worry!!! I’ll talk abt them again pretty soon!

D for Charles/Magnus, I for Magnus/Toki, L for Charles/Pickles, and F for Melm/JT.
eeehEHEHEHE DILF *rubs my little hands together* don't mind if i do~
D for Drunken Love Confession - Charles/Magnus
pre-klok. :') magnus has been chipping away at charles' resolve. there's just something about the bookish, put-together little chuck offdensen that makes magnus wanna break through all his defenses and see him come undone. he always did like a challenge. they have heated, passionate debates about the direction of the band. they get in each other's faces. magnus even kissed him once, but charles pushed him away, furious and blushing, and demanded he leave his office.
after six months of this weirdly charged back-and-forth they have, the band invites charles to come drinking with them to celebrate pickles' birthday. charles declines, concerned they're just inviting him to come because they want someone else to play designated driver. but magnus intervenes like "nah i'm driving tonight, promise. so go nuts." and charles seems to think it over... and eventually agrees.
so they all go out! at first charles seems to be pacing himself, but pickles gets shots, and it's all downhill from there. magnus, staying dutifully sober, watches the rest of the band + charles get sloppy and silly, not minding in the slightest the way charles leans against him a little in the booth and touches him when he laughs. he starts to regret not getting drunk himself, but he'd promised charles. it's enough just to see charles' mask slip, albeit not quite in the way magnus wanted. but he'll take it for now.
at the end of the night, magnus drops the band off at the apartment and then continues on to charles' place. he pulls up, and charles tries to get out of the car, but stumbles and falls. he's a lot more fucked up than magnus suspected. magnus helps him to the door, but charles seriously looks like he's about to black out, so he takes him inside, cleans him up a little, and puts him to bed (on his side, in the recovery position, he knows the drill). before he leaves, he can't help himself... he runs fingers through charles' sweaty hair and strokes his jaw. charles opens his eyes, seeming surprised that magnus is still there, and then... he smiles at him. a genuine smile. and as his eyes close again, he whispers something that freezes magnus in place.
"...mmfm...mmlove you..."
"...what?"
but charles is under again, and magnus leaves in a panic. charles doesn't, can't, have feeling for him. that's too much. magnus just wanted some fun, right? maybe get charles worked up enough for an angry fuck. but...love?
magnus can't sleep. the next time magnus sees charles, charles pulls him aside. "i apologize that you had to babysit me like that the other night. i can't exactly recall everything that happened, so if i said or did anything, ah...embarrassing, i'm very sorry."
so charles doesn't remember what he said. or he does and he's just trying to save face. magnus should be relieved about this, but for some reason his heart feels suddenly sore...
"oh, yeah, no...you were out like a light. don't worry about it."

I for "Idiots in Love" - Toki/Magnus
post-post-galaktikon. weirdly enough i'd probably write this from like nathan's pov or something. he's having everyone over to the house for some reason, maybe a holiday or his daughter's first birthday or something (her cool uncles wouldn't dream of missing it). this means..... rrugghhgh magnus is coming over. it's the first time he's interacted with magnus since pickles and charles' wedding, so maybe a good couple years, and he's not looking forward to it.
everyone arrives. toki and magnus are the last to show up, and nathan has to do a double-take because this is SO not magnus. half his hair is back in a ponytail, he's let his beard grow in some, and he's wearing a sweater?? and he's smiling? he genuinely seems happy to see nathan, gives him a hug, says a warm hello to abby.
over the course of the afternoon nathan has to keep looking at him and reminding himself that's magnus fucking hammersmith because he's just so... animated? friendly? he's sitting next to toki and they're holding hands, and when others are talking the two of them are making eyes at each other and cuddling and laughing at little things they seem to be sharing between themselves. they're being a couple of absolute goofballs together, and honestly it's a bit sickening to watch. is magnus just faking this?
at some point nathan excuses himself to the kitchen for something, and while he's in there he's joined by magnus, considerably more subdued.
"sorry, man, i just...i thought maybe we could talk for a sec."
so they talk. they catch up a little. nathan learns magnus has been hitting the therapy especially hard over the past year, making some meaningful strides. it's not an act, he's genuinely happier now. or at least trying to be.
"i mean, you know how it is, nate, right? doesn't abby make you wanna be better just because she exists and she loves you?"
okay, nathan can understand that. he still doesn't understand... them. but it really seems like magnus has turned a corner, which... good for him, he supposes. as long as he's treating toki well.
when they return to the party, nathan watches magnus sit back down with toki and give him a kiss like he'd been gone all month, and they giggle to themselves again. this time, it seems...all right.

L for "Love at First Sight" - Charles/Pickles
i'm gonna flip the script here!! i've already done the whole "charles sees pickles on stage and goes gaga for him" twice now... so i'd pull away from the 80s and do a fic where they actually did meet for the first time in the mid-90s when pickles was in dethklok.
so they've got their shitty original manager (the one from doomstar) still, and he's just not pulling his weight. he's managing a few other bands and his heart isn't in dethklok the way it used to be. pickles is worried they're stagnating, and when he learns that it's been magnus lately making sure they get booked, that's the last straw. they all come together, and they tell the dude to fuck off. but then this leaves them without a manager. magnus offers, but pickles has already been wary about how possessive magnus seems about the band recently, so when pickles says no the rest of them vote the same.
pickles blows through his old contacts looking to dig up some manager from his past who can either wants to manage dethklok or has connections to someone else. no dice. skwisgaar comes up with no one. magnus is still trying to campaign for himself. shit gets dire when somehow seth finds out dethklok is lacking management and leaves pickles a voicemail offering his "valuable fuckin' services". pickles blows his fucking top, swearing and screaming. "HOW HARD IS IT TO FIND ONE GUY CAPABLE OF MANAGING A FUCKIN' BAND??"
the doorbell rings, and pickles, still raging, throws it open.
"WHAT??"
"ahh!"
it's just... a dude. like a normal-ass dude. glasses. a nice dress shirt and slacks. nice hair. handsome. he's nervous as shit, but that almost makes him more handsome.
"i, ah...i-i was told that van on the street belongs to, ah...to someone here? i clipped the, ah, the bumper. just a little. but it's noticeable."
anger forgotten, pickles just... stares at him. are his eyes green or brown? and that jawline...
the man shifts his weight just a bit, peeking into the apartment with wide, curious eyes. "sorry, that, ah... that's quite the drum kit."
"huh?" pickles looks back at it and steps inside, and the man follows as if he's simply meant to be there. "oh, yeah, thanks. you play?"
"hardly. a small jazz kit in college for a friend's music project but it, ah, obviously didn't go anywhere." the man glances around and seems to realize that he's just waltzed inside. "right, ah, so about the van--" he pulls out his card. charles f. offdensen of finch & associates. an honest-to-god lawyer. huh. so he's a smart guy. good-looking to boot. knows a bit about music, apparently. and he's looking to make things right about hitting the van...
pickles smiles, hearts in his eyes. "ya like metal, charlie?"

F for "Fake Dating" - Melmord/Twinkletits
aaahahah... okay. so, this would be when melm is living with john as part of his continued therapy. a few months pass, and they've actually become good friends, melm thinks, not just therapist and patient. it's nice living there with john.
and then, john gets a call from his ex-wife, joy. she's in town, and she wants to come over for dinner one night before she leaves. the only thing is, she's got her new fiance in tow. she and john ended on pretty mutual terms, so there's really no bitterness there, but even so, john knows it's going to be an unpleasant evening. and then there's the question of what to do about melmord.
"you can just stuff me in a back room and pretend i don't exist. i'll be real quiet."
"absolutely not, you've been watching too many sitcoms."
"excuse you, that's jane eyre."
john just doesn't exactly know how to approach explaining melmord's presence in the house. because he knows joy, and joy will ask.
"tell her i'm a friend who needed a place to crash?"
"joy knows i don't do friends anymore."
ouch go melm's feelings.
"well, uh... you could just tell her the truth? that i'm your patient and i live with you?"
john pulls a face. "absolutely not."
in a flash of sitcom inspiration, melm snaps his fingers. "i got it! i'm your boyfriend! we'll pretend to date!"
"pretend to--?? mel, honey, no. okay? i understand you're trying to help, but--"
"but what? what's your brilliant idea, doc?"
cut to john introducing melmord to his ex-wife.
"and this is my... well, he's uh, my boyfriend actually. my boyfriend melmord."
melm is all smiles as he leans in and takes joy's hand. "please, just call me mel."
and then of course at the end of a long night, joy and her fiance leave, and john and melm pat each other on the back for a job well done. they really gave it their all, put on a convincing performance full of long embraces and doting glances and romantic touches. neither of them really want to talk about how easily it came to them, and how unwilling they both are to bring it to an end.
"well, uhh... good night, then." john chuckles. "darling."
"yeah, haha, sleep good, uh... sugarbear."
they laugh. they're standing in the hall laughing. they should really move apart from each other and go to their respective rooms if they're going to sleep, but they're not moving. and they're still laughing. and now melmord is touching john's shirt, fingering a button, and john has a hand on melm's hip...
"maybe," melm says quietly, "we can just pretend for, like... a little longer?"

izzie’s favorite movies and tv shows of 2020 (aka the worst year ever)
another year, another movie and tv show review. this year has, to put it simply, sucked. 2020 has been so terribly awful that sometimes the only light you can see are the absolute bangers of movies and tv shows that came out this year. with that being said, some of the movies and tv shows didn't come out in 2020. if the are mentioned in this post it is because they either: had a season come out this year, i found them this year, or they became popular this year.
SPOILERS: it may not come as a surprise but just in case you didn't realize, there will be many spoilers ahead, read at your own risk.
tw // death, suicide, drug use, mild adult language. if any of these things might trigger you, i strongly urge you not to read this post.
there is no specific order of these shows and movies, i'm just writing as they come to mind. if you enjoy any of these movies or tv shows, or if you have any suggestions for me, please let me know!
TV SHOWS
1) Santa Clarita Diet
Okay, so I know this show doesn't have anything to do with 2020. But, I found this show in 2020. I put it off for a while, thinking it wasn't my style of a show, but boy was I wrong. I loved this show. Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore) is a normal suburban wife and mom. She is a real estate agent with her husband Joel (Timothy Olyphant). She struggles with the fact that she isn't very adventurous. This all changes when she throws up an insane amount at a house showing. She then finds herself craving adventure, and craving human flesh. Yeah, she's a zombie. Not only is this show super hilarious, but it also shows the growth that they have with their characters and their family. I'm also team Abby (Liv Hewson) and Eric (Skyler Gisondo).
2) Outer Banks
So, I'm from NC. And, watching this show at first bothered me because I can very obviously tell this show isn't actually filmed in the obx, and the geography isn't exact, but once I got past that, I loved it. John B (Chase Stokes) is a teenager that lives in the poor side of the outer banks. He has a friend group called the Pogues which consists of JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Kie (Madison Bailey). They absolutely hate the Kooks, which are the rich kids. A while after John B's dad gets lost at sea, presumed dead, the group finds some evidence that may solve the mystery, and make them rich. In the process, John B falls in love with a Kook names Sarah (Madelyn Cline) whose father Ward (Charles Esten) may have a little more to do with the mystery than he let on. Through friendship, murder, and secrets, the gang may just figure out what happened to John B's dad.
3) Love, Victor
Alright. I loved loved loved Love, Simon. I also really loved the book "Simon vs. the Homosapien Agenda." So, when I heard about this show, I was so excited. Victor (Michael Cimino) is a teenage boy that moved to Creekwood with his family. He meets Felix (Anthony Turpel) who lives in his building. He also meets Mia (Rachel Hilson) and they begin dating. But, he also meets Benji (George Sear). While trying to get used to a new school, new friends, and a new relationship, Victor finds himself questioning his sexuality. With the help of Simon (Nick Robinson) and his friends, Victor finds it in himself to finally come out, and he admits his feelings, for Benji. This is such a good show, but I was so upset when season 1 ended on a cliff-hanger.
4) The Haunting of Bly Manor
The sequel to The Haunting of Hill House. Now listen, haunting of hill house was an absolute banger. When I saw that Bly came out I nearly died. I was so excited. But, I was alone in my apartment and also a lil bitch. So, I had to wait a week until I was home with my family to watch it. Now, I was so excited to be scared, and there were a few jump scares and ominous moments, but this season was more centered around the story line of Dani Clayton (Victoria Pedretti) and her new life in a foreign country. When seeing an ad for a live in job as an au pair. When she gets there, she meets the two young children she’ll be looking out for and the other workers of the house, including the gardener, Jamie (Amelia Eve). Throughout her stay at Bly she begins to notice weird behaviors from both children and by the end of the series she sacrifices herself for the children. Sadly, this story is being told by Jamie who Dani had fallen in love with during her stay at Bly. Now I was somewhat upset about the lack of horror, but was still very intrigued and drawn in by this series.
5) Julie and the Phantoms
Alright, at first I was not gonna watch this show. I thought it looked a little too young and childish for me, but everyone was talking about it on twitter so I had to. I. Love. This. Show. This show centers around Julie (Madison Reyes). Julie is a teenage girl who, sadly, lost her mother. The one major thing she shared with her mom, was their love for music. Since her mothers passing, she gave up music. This is until, dead musicians from the 90′s show up in her garage. Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Alex (Owen Joyner), and Reggie (Jeremy Shada) all tragically passed away in the 90′s after eating bad street hotdogs. When Julie finds their CD in her garage, she decides to play it and they come back in ghost form. But, only she can see them. With their help, she finds her confidence to play music again. Also, she has to find away for them to stay because they’re slowly disappearing.
6) Derry Girls
Bitch. I love this show. And yeah it didn’t come out in 2020. Shut up. I found this show recently after watching the cast on the holiday special of the Great British Baking Show. I loved the actors so I had to watch the show. This show focuses on Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson) a 16 year old girl that lives in Derry, Northern Ireland in the 90′s. Alongside her is her cousin Orla (Louisa Harland), her two friends Clare (Nicola Coughlan) and Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), and Michelle’s English cousin James (Dylan Llewellyn). During these years, a lot of people in Ireland struggled, especially because it was during wartime. Even thought this show isn’t focused heavily around the war, it’s amazing to see these teens live a fulfilling life while struggling with the state of their country, and the lack of money that their families have.
7) Elite
HA. This show did have a season in 2020 so leave me alone. But bro, I love this show. At first, I didn’t watch it because I thought I could only watch the dubbed version in English, which I hate. I hate dubbed shows they look so weird. But, once I found out I could watch this show in Spanish, I fell in love. But, sadly, theres too damn much to talk about in one little post. It’s crazy. But basically it just follows the lives of teens in high school that are trying to survive. And no, not in the “I’m surviving high school,” sense. No, people be getting murdered.
MOVIES (tbh i didn’t find a lot of movies good this year lmk which movies u liked this year and maybe i’ll like them!)
1) All the Bright Places
After the death of her sister, Violet (Elle Fanning) is devastated. She closes herself off, and has her parents get her out of doing school work that involves working with others. But, as time goes on, they realize she may need to start to move on. Violet then meets Finch (Justice Smith) who is enamored by Violet. He suggests they do a project together. While finding and visiting some of the smallest wonders of their state, they begin to fall for each other. While you are focusing on Violet and her mental health, you tend to miss some of the signs that Finch’s mental health isn’t great either, but by the time you do, it could be too late.
2) Dangerous Lies
Hmm. This was weird for me. I had only ever seen Camila Mendes in Riverdale, and honestly, not a fan. So, Katie (Camila Mendes) and her husband Adam (Jessie T. Usher) are struggling with money. Katie decides to take a job working for an elderly man, and eventually gets her husband hired there as well. Unfortunately, he dies, but for some odd reason, leaves the house and all of his fortune, to Katie. As they get comfortable in the house, they begin to uncover some very weird and dangerous lies.
3) The Devil All the Time
Ok. Iconic. You got so many hot men in this movie. Bill Skarsgård, Sebastian Stan, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson. C’mon now. That’s crazy. But, this story is so long and in depth that I wouldn’t even know where to begin. This movie is a bit disturbing. It involves murder, sexual assault, killing of animals, and so much more so if that’s an issue for you please do not watch this movie. It was also quite long, but it was still good.
4) After We Collided
Okay just listen. I was that teenager. I read wattpad stories and was, embarrassingly, addicted to After. This was not a great movie per say, but it was After. This is a sequel to the movie After. This movie centers around Tessa (Josephine Langford) and her recovery after her breakup with Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin). Theres sex, alcohol, bad acting. The whole nine-yards. But c’mon, they’re so cute together.
5) To All the Boys p.s. I Still Love You
Okay it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. This movie focuses on Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and her boyfriend Peter (Noah Centineo) and their relationship post the first movie. But of course relationships aren’t super steady, and John Ambrose McClaren (Jordan Fisher) shows up. Yeah, John Ambrose, from her letter. They become closer and Lara Jean has to decide who she wants to be with. Spoiler, it’s Peter. BOOOOOOO justice for John Ambrose McClaren, he deserved better.

Inspired by the recent post you made, could you kinda elaborate on what makes Secrets of Castle McDuck so great and the best episode and what made Fight for Castle McDuck not work and the worst episode of the show? I respect your opinion and I myself do love Secrets of Castle McDuck (and had issues with Fight for Castle McDuck) but I wanna know your analysis/take on it. Also, you think the whole Spear of Selene drama could've made for better reason for Scrooge/Matilda to fight?
Wow, I wasn’t expecting for such an ask, but okay, I’ll do my best to answer!
First and foremost, I need to emphasis that Secret(s) of Castle McDuck is the best episode to me, personaly. This was the episode that truly hooked me on Ducktales, so yes, I’m biased when I say Secret(s) is the best episode.
I truly believe it’s one of the best episodes of the show, however, and the reason for that is the two family conflicts we have in it.
Fergus & Scrooge: This is the first time we meet the Father of the richest duck in the world, and we just fall heads on this broken, bitten (not petty) Father & Son relationship. We don’t know why they’re like that, and their bickering is funny to watch, but at the same time we can see how frustrated at the situation Scrooge is. He didn’t even want to be there!
... And that was actually the problem, as we find out later. By who? Fergus. When he and Scrooge go into the castle’s walls, Fergus admits, after his son explodes on his face about how he never gave him anything, that he was the one who gave Scrooge his first dime. He did that to teach his son how to fend for himself, but Scrooge learned it so well that he very much forgot about his family.
Fergus admits he’s hard on his son because he misses him, and in return Scrooge admits he misses his parents too.
A conflict plot that was: fun at the beginning, got deeper, and concluded satisfactorily.
Huey, Dewey & Louie: Now the reason why this episode is my favorite.
Different from Fergus and Scrooge, the situation that follows the conflict between the triplets isn’t unknown for us; on the contrary, it had been built up through the whole season. Dewey found informations, clues, about their mother and never shared it with his brothers.
It’s fun to watch Dewey trying to make Huey and Louie give up on the treasure hunt, but in the end actually needing his brothers’ help to solve the clues and get closer to the prize, which he was the only who knew had something to do with Della.
And then, the catacombs scene happens.
“BECAUSE IT BELONGS TO MOM!”
“You kept a secret about Mom...”
“That’s not okay.”
Huey and Louie were hurt, but even then they still went for their brother and saved Dewey from the demon dog (with a little help from their ghost relatives that scene makes me so emotional). I really believe that Dewey’s second I’m sorry, when they go back for Della’s bag, is sincere. He learned his lesson and can’t wait to continue the investigation with Huey and Louie by his side.
One more time, the conflict plot was: fun at the beginning, got deeper, and concluded satisfactorily.
This is the main reason I love Secret(s) of Castle McDuck so much. That’s why I love the Castle McDuck! There lies all the history, good or bad, of this huge, ancient clan. Those walls hold so much history and the possibilities of what to do with them is countless!
So I will give this to Fight for Caslte: a magic bagpipe is a way to try to bring this history into life.
Before starting to talk about Fight For Castle McDuck, I need to say, again, that the episode’s the worst to me, personally.
Let’s start analysing what I pointed out the most in Secret(s): the conflicts.
Different from Fergus & Scrooge in season 1, Matilda and Scrooge’s conflict starts off clearly and purely as a petty fight between siblings. And this is all it is, literally, it never gets deeper than Whiskers.
But even then, for some reason, Webby acts as if the world’s ending! Webby, my dear, you’ve been living with the boys for almost two years now, and with Donald and Della for a long while. Please, tell me you know siblings fight. Please, listen to Dewey.
And before continuing with the McDucks, let’s take a look on Huey and Louie. In this episode, Huey’s trying to follow the instructions Finch left in her journal for them to find the Blessed Bagpipes, and Louie just wants to find a short cut while mocking his brother’s way to do things.
Now I wouldn’t be too bothered by that, if Fight for Castle McDuck wasn’t an episode that happens after season 2, the season where Louie learns that short cuts aren’t always the best strategy, and after two or three episodes in season 3 where Louie learns that he needs to listen and trust on his brothers.
Now back to the McDucks... they’re still fighting about Whiskers, this time with Fergus and Downey involved too. Downey defending Scrooge while Fergus defends Matilda, because- oh right, I almost forgot to mention: do you guys remember all that development where Fergus admited he was hard on Scrooge because he missed him? Well, now Fergus is back at being a mean Dad to Scrooge, but for no reason this time.
You asked if I think the whole Spear of Selene drama could've made for better reason for Scrooge/Matilda to fight, and my answer is: absolutely. It would be the best reason ever, especially because Matilda has a life outside of the Castle, she can go out, so different from Downey and Fergus no one can convince me she didn’t know that her niece disappeared for ten years. She knew. And the fact that she doesn’t mention it once, the fact she doesn’t look mad at Scrooge at all, the fact she doesn’t even ask about Donald and Della-
It was a golden opportunity wasted on a ball of furr.
Then, we finally get to the apex of the episode: everyone (Scrooge, Matilda, Downy, Fergus, Huey, Dewey and Louie) in the statues run, fighting for petty reasons, only for the statues of Clan McDuck to be brought into life... and also start fighting between them for no reason!
But no fret, because Webby will play a sad audio she recorded of how much she loves the McDucks and they will all instantly stop!
I can’t start to say who’s more in the wrong here and how much this episode’s execution was made poorly. So in the end, the conflicts were: fun at the beginnig, but never got deeper, and the conclusion was everything but satisfactory.
Besides, you noticed that I didn’t mention, Pepper, Blot, or FOWL at all in this post right? That was how important they were for this episode! Two agents of the main villain of the season and the family barely aknowledge their presence there!
It’s frustrating, infuriating, and I’m getting tired, so I’m finish here. I hope this was enough of an answer to you. Thanks a lot for your question :)

Modern!Wormsies Headcanons because I’m terrified wormsies is going to die before 2021 gets here
Tw for mild horror. I don’t think this is that bad but read at your own risk. I don’t l know why I created it I just felt compelled to but don’t read it unless you’re as insane as I am and are fully prepared to read the most cursed thing I have ever created. Seriously. This is by far the most cursed thing I have ever written. Good luck. 💜
So anyway they’re not selling to survive obviously since it’s modern au.
In my modern au they’re all theatre nerds cause why not.
So they’re backstage one day and Race finds this blue thing behind an old set that has probably been there for several years.
Lo and behold, it is a worm on a string.
And Race is kinda weirded out and wondering who left it there but he’s like aight guess I’m keeping this thing.
He ties it to a strap on his backpack and forgets about it for the rest of rehearsal.
Then Romeo (one of Race’s 3 adoptive brothers, the others being Jack and Crutchie) notices it and f l i p s o u t.
Romeo drags over Specs and Jack and Crutchie to show them the worm Race found and they’re all like omg this is the best thing we’ve ever seen.
Race is still kinda confused but like hey whatever this might as well happen and he just figures if his brothers and his little brother’s boyfriend are gonna obsess over worms, why not join in?
They all get worms somehow. Romeo gets a green one, Specs gets a purple one, Jack gets a dark blue one, and Crutchie gets a yellow one.
When they all show up to rehearsal a few days later with worms, a few others pick up on it and are like lmao let’s join in on the insanity.
So anyway Albert gets a red one, Smalls gets a green one, Mike gets a purple one, Ike gets a yellow one cause it’s the opposite of purple, and Elmer gets a green one.
All the others are all kinda just whatever do what you want don’t involve us in your insanity.
BUT THEN
Over the course of the next couple weeks, only a couple more people join in on getting worms.
Sniper gets a purple one and Finch gets an orange one.
But what’s strange is that everybody starts noticing...
The kids with worms pick up choreography...
Faster and Better...
Than the kids without worms...
They’re stretchier and more agile...
...almost like..?
Almost like...
They...
don’t...
have...
spines..?
They wiggle just like their worms wiggle wiggle wiggle.
And Specs is the most logical of the ones with worms but even he fully believes his worm gives him special powers.
They spend their snack breaks talking about this and a few more people decide to get in on it.
Jojo gets a yellow one, Mush gets a dark blue one, and Blink gets a light blue one.
Davey, Spot, and Katherine still refuse to believe in this.
Sarah got a pink worm and they were all terribly disappointed in her.
But anyway they hold out their lack of belief despite how the kids with worms continue to perform better in dance numbers than the few left without.
Kenny caves and gets a dark blue one somewhere in here.
There are now a lot more kids with worms than kids without and the holidays are rolling around.
Ike gets Hotshot a red worm and Hotshot in turn gets red worms for all his crowd on the stage crew (Bart, Rafaela, Joey, Hildy, York, and Vince).
Hell, even the crew kids perform better with worms, it turns out.
Cause they can run fast to get places they need to be and squeeze through spaces they shouldn’t be able to squeeze through.
But anyway Katherine and Davey and Spot are starting to get a little creeped out.
Cause their friends and partners are starting to act more and more like they’re in a cult, even more than the cult that they’re already in (the drama club).
They pretend their worms have fucking personalities and make tiny hats for them and stuff.
And the ones left without worms are dropping like flies and getting assimilated to the other side.
Buttons gets a light blue one, Tommy Boy gets a pink one, Henry gets an orange one, and
And Sarah gets Les a green worm.
That’s kinda the last straw for Davey.
He fucking waits until his siblings are asleep and he throws their worms in the trash.
But mysteriously
They both have their worms back in time for rehearsal.
And Davey gets home that night and there’s a light blue worm waiting on his pillow.
He throws it away but it’s tied to his backpack strap the next day.
He flushes it down the toilet and it shows up in his favorite hoodie pocket.
He tells Katherine and Spot, super freaked out, but they don’t really believe him cause there’s no such thing as magic worms... right?
Then Katherine finds a purple worm on the seat she usually sits in during breaks.
She’s moderately creeped out so she leaves it there and goes to a different seat but the next break the worm is on that seat.
She can’t remember seeing anyone move it.
Meanwhile Spot is making out with Race behind a curtain (obviously) and Race
Race fucking pulls a red worm out of his sleeve like a scarf trick and gives it to him.
Spot is super weirded out by this and wants to just throw the dumb thing away the minute he and Race are done making out, but he just...
He can’t.
He can’t get rid of the worm, so he ties it to his backpack.
Katherine and Davey are mildly horrified that Spot has given in and won’t give up his worm even though you’re encouraging their cult-like behavior, Spot, come on.
Spot insists that he could throw away his worm if he wanted to, he just... doesn’t want to. And besides, he can keep up with the others on theatre stuff now, so why would he?
So Kath and Davey are
The
Last
Ones
Left
Without worms.
Davey’s worm is still following him around but he refuses to give in and he always gets rid of it as soon as he finds it but it always pops up again.
Katherine’s shows up less frequently, but it starts getting more and more frequent and she starts getting more and more freaked out as one night, she goes into her room and that fucking purple worm is on her pillow.
None of her friends have been to her house in the last 24 hours so this development is fucking terrifying.
She calls Davey and flips out on the phone to him about it and he’s trying to calm her down but Sarah ends up stealing his phone after a few minutes because she’s my girlfriend, Davey, not yours.
When Davey gets the phone back, Katherine is significantly calmer. He asks her if she threw the worm away.
She
Didn’t
Throw the worm away.
She claims it’s fine, that they might as well give in, Davey, we’re the last ones left without worms, just out of stubbornness. And anyway our friends with worms are doing fine; look at your siblings if you need proof.
Sarah and Les are having a tea party with their worms and Davey is getting pretty scared at this point.
He’s the last one left without a worm, though that blue one still always seems to show up wherever he is.
Until
Opening night
Of
Their
Show
Afterwards everybody’s pumped up and ready to go to Applebee’s to celebrate and Davey is relieved because no one has mentioned worms in the last 24 hours or even really looked at the ones still tied to their backpacks.
He thinks maybe the others got bored with it and this thing is finally dying, especially since that damn light blue worm hasn’t showed up today either.
But then Davey is just sharing a nice coffee alone with Jack backstage (which he hasn’t done since the worm thing started because honestly his boyfriend was creeping him out).
Jack suddenly starts crying, and Davey’s all like hey what is it? Babe look at me what’s wrong?
And Jack just goes I’m sorry love I know it hurts now but it’s better in the long run trust me.
That’s when Elmer, Specs, Sarah, and Mush burst in behind them and grab Davey, shoving a bag over his head and dragging him somewhere.
When the bag is taken off of Davey’s head, he’s tied to a chair in the middle of a choir room that all his friends have somehow squeezed into.
They’re all holding their worms.
And Davey is like guys if this is an elaborate prank it wasn’t even that funny to begin with but now it is very very much not funny.
But Sarah just goes in a sad tone it’s not a prank Davey.
Les not looking like he’s trying not to laugh is what makes Davey believe it’s not a prank.
And Davey is legitimately terrified at this point because even Spot and Katherine are looking at him with a solemn kind of pity and when he asks them for help they just shake their heads and tell him everything will be okay.
He turns to Jack and is still clinging to that last little bit of hope that one of the people he loves might not have gone off the deep end.
That last little bit of hope that the boy he loves is still the boy I fell for. I know you’re still in there so please just untie me Jackie.
Jack looks like he’s trying not to cry but he doesn’t move.
Instead he says I love you Davey. It’ll all be over soon.
Do it, Race.
Race steps forward and Davey just about has a heart attack because
He’s
Holding
That
Goddamn
Light blue
Worm
And he takes some rainbow duct tape out of his pocket and tapes it to Davey’s shirt.
And the others all start chanting one of us one of us one of us as Davey can practically feel the spine leave his body and travel to another dimension where there’s a man who collects them.
It turns out the others were right that he should just give in.
Now it’s time for them to get the rest of the school.
Edit: here is my attempt to justify myself for this. 💜

I just watched Legacies and oh my god, why was this episode actually so much better than the last few ones have been? I like this show again?? Okay, I'll try and coherently list my favourite parts:
• Kaleb and Hope interaction!! I love this duo with my whole heart and their scenes were actually so good. Kaleb putting his hand on Hope when he realized she was about to lose it, and then him trying to ask her what's going on, and understanding when she says she can't lost her home. Give me more of them.
• Cleo. Every single one of Cleo's scenes. Especially with Hope, oh my god, I ship it so much. Their little smiles at each other, the fact that Hope was the only one willing to be honest with Cleo without sugar coating it, and Cleo helping Hope try and break down why she's breaking down. Give me this ship.
• Josie was adorable in that outfit. The jacket actually reminded me a lot of one that Maya wore though which is kinda funny considering she spent most of the episode with Finch, Maya's ex, and Ethan, Maya's brother. But speaking of
• I really enjoy Finch's character so far. She's very different and interesting and I can't wait to see more of her. My mum keeps saying she looks a bit like Freya and now I can't fully unsee that either, by the way. But no, I really wanna see more of her and I'm excited for her and Josie.
• And still on a similar note: Ethan! I'm really liking his scenes so far! I want him and Josie to have a good friendship, and so far, they do! That locker scene at lunch was so sweet. I have a feeling he's going to be introduced to the supernatural world at some point, probably through Josie, and hopefully he finds out what actually happened to his arm!
• DORIAN IS BACK, BABY!! I have missed him so much, god. Headmaster of Mystic Falls High and still with Emma. It's what he deserves.
• MG, oh my god. I love that he's saying no because it's what he deserves after everything. He should be selfish after everyone's taken him for granted. It was nice to see him standing up for himself, but also I had a little ouch at his scene with Wade and Jed, because I love those boys as well and seeing them sad hurts me. And LIZZIE. Oh boy. I mean, it was a necessary conversation, but still! Ouch. And his face was hilarious when he realized that them sleeping together had been an option before he said no, poor boy.
• Gabby!! Or is it Gabbi? Either way, I know I am going to enjoy this little ball of sass. I didn't quite catch how she knows Penelope but I love it, and I love that she and Wade are like best friends??? That's so sweet!!
• Gunter trying to kill Alaric.
• The vague mention of Damon.
• ALARIC STILL TRYING TO PITCH THE SCHOOL TO GUNTER AFTER HE TRIED TO KILL HIM AND HAS HIM TIED UP??? SIR, STOP!
• Lizzie in general to be honest.
• And Hope.
• And finally, my boy, Landon. God, I just loved him so much more than I already do. I get it now when people say they actually like him when he's not with Hope, because something about his scenes in this episode felt so much more interesting than they have recently.
• He and Ted are an iconic duo to begin with anyway, incredibly hilarious, especially because Landon is a smug little dick around him and it's beautiful.
• Just casually sipping the milkshake while Ted has a tantrum. Shaking the tip jar and telling him to sing.
• Their fight to get the key was... hilariously beautiful. But their actual fight, oh my god
• When I tell you, I died. Seeing Landon with so much anger and aggression? The way he looked at his hands when he quickly backed away and fully grasped what he had just done? Honestly, Aria's acting kills me every time. That scene was really powerful and I want more of that Landon.
• ALSO HIM PUTTING HOPE'S NECKLACE ON PROPERLY. HELL YEAH.
• I just enjoyed everything about this episode, like, there wasn't a single scene that I wasn't squealing or wide-eyed in tense shock at. Give us more episodes like this one and I will actually start enjoying this show properly again!!

On the rating of 10, how do you rate the writing of each legacies characters, why and who deserves better? What aspects should be improved?
I updated some of the opinion for clarity and also added Finch because I forgot her originally
I'll just make a list and go down it and I'm sorry in advance I love responding but I'm horrible at grammar/punctuation and also I might tend to ramble but I'll try to be as concise as possible. It should also be noted anything I state that might possibly relate to ships is a personal opinion and I have nothing against any ships/characters gay or straight/Good or Evil. However would it be said that I definitely mean more towards the gay/Badass with a Golden heart side of shipping with any fandom.
Hope Mikaelson- As of now I would rate her writing at about a 6. And I only say that because as we know a majority of her characters personality slightly has always but this season especially related to her relationship with Landon. And I wish we would see the Badass Tribrid Hope we've been promised since season 1 I mean sure there are no lack of examples of her bravery and martyrdom. But I am tired of her always feeling down on herself and like she's a cosmic mistake when it has literally been proven by Lizzie's wish in season 1 that their life would be infinitely shittier without her. What they can do to improve it is have her focus on friendship and herself instead of trying to always focus on Landon. She deserves more than just to be a boy obsessed character I mean she's the daughter of Klaus F****** Mikaelson for Pete sakes she literally descends from the most powerful supernatural family ever to exist and is rightfully the most powerful being on the f****** planet.
Note: I found Handon's relationship cutesy in season 1 but now not so much especially since they use him dying as a plot line way too often it just doesn't have the same effect that used to***
Josie Saltzman-As of now I would rate her writing at about an 8. I like how her character at least for a while had her own storyline going off the mystic falls High School plotline and how she lived with delena because it was a good call back for us TVD fans but I think it could have definitely lasted longer than a few episodes. We all know it was just used as a lot device to introduce Ethan as a series regular and as an introduction for her to Finch's character. But overall I feel throughout the seasons she has experienced at least some personal growth as exhibited even in 3x15 where she admitted she has to stop saying sorry especially to Lizzie for not always jumping to do what she needs / she wants all the time. Whereas before Android AU version aside because she literally had to do what she was programmed to do. She has an exhibited that she's starting to do what she needs to do for Josie before others most of the time or she's trying to. And as far as her relationship to Finch well I don't see them being endgame I have no problem with them and I do see Finch being one of her major loves of the series that teaches her whatever lesson she needs that leads her to whoever her endgame love is. With her relationships I will always miss Posie and I wish they could get Lulu back at least just for one episode. Also I feel these last two episodes of the girls being a trio they have a really Been serving Hosie with the looks but also I feel like in general Josie and Hope have been really in f****** tune. In conclusion I just don't know because Kaylee's acting skills and just turning general I would rate a billion she could choke me and I would literally thank her.
Lizzie Saltzman-as of now I would rate her at about a 7. I feel as if she has had great personal growth over the series and hell even this season. I also like hell despite everything in her life especially her eternal struggle with her mental illness she is always trying to do better and not just for herself but mainly for others and some people would say that's not good but I like it because it truly shows what she stated in 1x03 during the gargoyle incident that she never wants to be the bad or evil one. She has all this s*** thrown at her being called broken, being seen as the lesser than sister, and not to mention the absentee parents. Yet through all this she manages to only get stronger especially once she builds a genuine friendship with hope. However what I will say is that I don't like the regression of her friendship with Hope in correlation to her progress of especially her mental illness. And what I mean by that is it's almost been shown that once she had even the seeds of a true friendship with Hope that Hope would never give up on her hell not but like even an episode or two into their newly formed friendship in S1 Hope went to Josie when she Lizzie was on the verge of a bad episode and "sweet" Josie was basically like fuck her she needs to fall on her ass for once and Hope ass was appalled y'all she was like Lizzie can't control her brain chemistry and was so defensive/protective it's like once they got over that hurdle that mainly Josie gave them everything clicked into place and they were almost instant bff's. So for them to do so good in season 2 and then it seems like it showed especially in these last several episodes black magic incident to bring Landon back aside that Lizzie's old issues of resentment and jealousy towards hope are starting to come back and I don't like that because the more Lizzie had A Friend in Hope it seems like the better she got at coping and doing better mentally.(sorry if this has been a confusing several sentences). And no by that I do not mean that Lizzie is mental progress has solely relied on Hope but I do think it has helped significantly for her to have a true friend. Also let it be noted now out of every ship though I should Hosie too HIZZIE is my #1 ship on Legacies two phenomenally beautiful woman also the enemies to friends to lovers trope *chef's kiss*which might be plausible as I always wondered what they meant in the Hosie crush confession scene of season 1 when Josie said that she always went after everybody josie liked hinting that Lizzie might be at least bisexual or maybe that was just what Josie perceived at like 12/13 years old. Also on the note of relationships Mizzie was a cute concept at the beginning but I do love the fact that MG is finally finding himself and standing up for himself but he did also do it and I kind of a******-ish way towards Lizzie. And that's all I can say for her. Actually I could probably write a novel on this women and also Hizzie but I won't lol.
Alaric Saltzman- As of now I would give him a rating of like a 4 . In the last several episodes I think he's been trying to make progress at being a better person but that's about all I can say I'm not an anti. But he definitely will not be winning the father of the year award anytime soon and like many people have pointed out he was a great guardian to Elena and Jeremy so he has the potential in parenting he obviously just ain't using it or lost it over the decades. I don't hate him but I do believe they're doing a discredit towards the better man he was in The vampire Diaries especially at the beginning.
Landon Kirby-His writing is like a 3. He is just there to be arm candy for hope. Until the last couple episodes where he became this for once realistic not optimistic hardened badass he literally brought nothing to The season other than someone for Hope to obsess over. And to be someone that they repeatedly kill for shock value even though it literally shocks no one anymore. I don't hate his character but he doesn't tickle My Fancy as much anymore. His character has a lot of potentialy especially if they ever bring back in his Phoenix side and truly explore it beyond his almost endless ability to revive and being a "Bird Boy" lol. I mean truthfully they're doing him a disservice Aria is a phenomenal actor who could take his character places if they just let him be more than a basic ass plot device. Also can we talk about how gorgeous of a man Aria is especially in these last few episodes looking love it and fine as f***.
As it has become apparent to me I ramble too much and I just don't have the capacity as it is now almost 1:00 in the morning my time to do anymore characters in depth so I will be doing a simple excerpt for the rest now that I have done the main 5 people.
Kaleb Hawkins- His writing is a 8. I do like how he's coming to himself over the years and is a a right hand man to Alaric now instead of being just a uncontrollable vampire(the only hate on this part not towards Kaleb but Alaric is that it shows he will virtually mentor/uplift almost any teen that ain't his own daughters). Though in my opinion he always kind of had a point on some things especially about the hypocrisy of Alaric in season 1 especially on the bmood drinking thing. Him and Mg's relationship is awesome I'm glad they made up in the last episode and our brothers again. Also I was rooting for him and Cleo I think they would be a cute little couple. Also I need his backstory immediately especially after saying to Cleo the last time he was vulnerable he died I need to know how he turned.
Milton Greasley(MG)- His writing is a 9 the season. I say that because he is really came into his own and stopped being the punching bag. Though I think the idea or used to think at least that him and Lizzie would be cute together I am proud of him for standing up to Lizzie finally even though I liked him always being there for her I was tired of him being a fallback for her when it didn't work with whoever however I do think he could have went about the rejection a little bit gentler especially with how he knows of Lizzie's emotional problems. And don't even get me started on Alyssa that was just a disaster that should have never even been brought to fruition her cheating with Jed was probably the best thing that could have happened. I liked his little side adventure with Ethan though I do think they could have wrote it a little better I was sad when he had to compel the memories away like they still could have been friends he just couldn't have known about the supernatural stuff also I'm still not convinced Ethan won't become supernatural later in the series if he stays on. And that's all I have to say on that one love my baby.
Jed Tien-His writing I can't really give a writing I don't think it's horrible but I do think overall they could give him a better plot line as a series regular other than just being used for the comical relief eye candy/mentioning how he's the alpha. Though it was funny the whole pool tournament to decide who was alpha will Finch was just exactly that so bad it was laughable. However I do respect the fact that he even admitted to her that he knew she threw the game and that he is a genuine man of his word and has become better over the series from like this dumb jock stereotype to this genuine dude the Alyssa incident aside. He is a cinnamon roll and I will protect him at all cost.
Ethan- Again as he just became a series regular this season and barely showed up in his premiere season. I will not be rating him in any traditional sense. His writing is not totally horrible I liked his adventures with mg they could have been written better and they still could have let him be MG's friend without supernatural knowledge instead of compelling the friendship completely away. And I am still not convinced he will not become supernatural in some way depending on how long he stays in the series truthfully it's actually almost inevitable unless they go the whole route of making him the Matt/Token Human of the show which I really hope they don't I mean he can stay human but don't make him a supernatural hater.
Cleo-her writing is 10. I say that because she has been a phenomenal character and I've never seen the actress before but she is obviously phenomenal as well. I like her whole connection to Malivore and how it's a legitimate one that seems to be interwoven with the story that's already been presented and add something new. I also like how she tried and really wanted to genuinely be friends with all the characters especially hope but at the same time she was also very realistic and new probably and truthfully the only way for Malivore to be defeated was for Hope to Go full Tribrid and she wasn't above actually trying to murder hope to save herself and just get rid of Malivore which I can't blame her.
Malivore-after the end of season 3 / the first couple episodes of season 4 which were supposed to be the original ending to season 3 I better never hear the name again I am so tired of it this should have ended like at least a season ago at this point it's dragging on. This was supposed to be a monster of the week type of series which is okay me personally I have always appreciated having one big bad of the season and then a couple of minor baddies that get their characters arcs and take a few episodes to defeat or something as like a B or C plot. Point being is that this character and plot line has gotten stiff as can be. To be honest I think half of us aren't even here for plot line anymore we just want to see which of our ships get together.
Finch-I am loving her character and I do think she's cute with Josie. Also I stan anyone who is a sarcastic b**** Queen. I think it's nice how her will backstory was different than the traditional one but also I hated how sad it was like she literally didn't even know what she was doing. Though I will say calling Lizzie the "evil" twin that she can fight me because you don't talk about my blonde cinnamon roll like that is based on one impression from something that was only meant and done out of a good place and Lizzie's heart trying to find out her backstory. But other than that I have no real qualms with this character and it is too early to have a real in-depth analysis/opinion of her.
Thank you for reading this long rant hope I answered your question well enough if not PM me on anything specific.

Castle
Boston Legal
The Good Doctor
Hustle (BBC)
Gregory House (House MD)
House is incredibly smart and witty. Though he pretends not to care, deep down he does - he just shows it in unique ways. Unfortunately his logical approach to life has negative consequences, such as concluding that he is better off alone. Thankfully by the end of the show, he realises that he has Wilson. He is someone who is incredibly important to him and he would willingly throw his life away for him.
James Wilson (House MD)
My favourite House MD character. Wilson seems like a very normal person on the outside - caring, empathetic, respectful - but you soon find out he is incredibly chaotic. He is also, for better or worse, fiercely loyal to House. He does whatever it takes to try and make House happy, even if that means showing tough love at times. But he’s always down to get involved in a bit of chaos, even if he denies this in the show for a while.
Robert Chase (House MD)
Yeah, most of these are from House MD cuz it’s my favourite show. Also, I’m mostly referring to Chase post-divorce. I know that sounds grim, but before he is more of a target and tends to feel down because of it. But later on in the series, he stops caring about House’s taunting and actually embraces it - and it’s hilarious. Also he’s attractive but like shh.
Harold Finch (Person of Interest)
Finch is smart and helps people just like House, but his efforts aren’t as easily seen or appreciated. A very private person, Finch uses his wealth and knowledge in order to help people who otherwise wouldn’t receive help. And what does he get out of it? Pretty much nothing other than contentment. He even acknowledges that his job will eventually end with him being killed, but he continues to save people anyway.
Ryan & Esposito (Castle)
Honestly my favourite part of Castle. These two are incredibly chaotic and often have to be reigned in by Beckett. But even though they’re both wildly chaotic (especially when Castle encourages them), they’re also both very caring people. Not only do they care for Beckett and are loyally protective of her, but they also deeply care about one another (as seen in the episode where they get trapped in a building together). Sure, they argue sometimes, but they both (platonically) love each other greatly.
Alan Shore (Boston Legal)
Another incredibly loyal friend (I’m sensing a pattern), Alan would go to the ends of the earth for his friends (literally) and also gets very defensive when something happens to those he cares about. Of course, he often says the wrong things because he is a very “ends justify the means” sort of guy, but deep down he loves his friends, especially Denny.
Katie Lloyd & Jerry Espenson (Boston Legal)
A very wholesome duo. Jerry is someone who struggles with autism and also possibly Tourette’s syndrome, but Katie is one of the only people in his life to not consider him different for it. She encourages Jerry, supports him and even mimics his tics in order to draw attention away from him. Even when they were in a platonic relationship, they deeply loved each other as friends, caring about when the other was hurt. Just…a very wholesome duo. I love wholesome duos almost as much as chaotic ones.
Shaun Murphy (The Good Doctor)
Admittedly I haven’t finished The Good Doctor. Actually I’m not very far into it at all and I keep forgetting to continue watching it, but Shaun is just a very relatable character for me. He values honesty and finding the correct answer, but often people underestimate him. He struggles a lot but still does his best to overcome his stresses and do the best he can do. Since I haven’t watched much of the show, I don’t really have much else to comment about him sadly.
Danny Blue (Hustle BBC)
Yeah, this show is virtually unknown, but I don’t watch many TV shows. Danny Blue is confidence in himself and often feels undervalued by his team, but he is secretly very intuitive when it comes to his, uhh, “job” as a conman. Sure, he acts like a giant child most times, but he is loyal and smart. He just doesn’t always come across that way. I just find him entertaining, okay?

Anyways, I don’t really watch many TV shows…so this is about all I got. Oops-
