how the hell did heiji brought his bike with him all the way in HOKKAIDO. you can almost way osaka to tokyo is only half of the travel to hokkaido how many day trip would it take to reach that far. also a jp tweet i read once brought to question how a high schooler was able to use the high way. did he brought kazuha with her in this extreme trip? with the excuse that he's going for a kendo tournament... when his bigger agenda is to confess. everything about the bike being there doesn't make sense but i give it a pass for being cool 😁👍

and the heikazu scene.,.. i came there fully expecting to not care at all but they actually made me invested. ran was SOOOO CUTE her excitement directly influenced me to also want to see heiji succeed. heiji asking if the legendary 100 million night view is better than big ben and ran agreeing just to placate him for the sake of her otp 😭

THE STUN GRENADE! the fact that kazuha immediate reaction is to protect heiji ears.... her self sacrificial nature a call back to mermaid island in the most subtle way 🥹🥹🥹 heiji shocked eyes was so cute. and heiji confession speech isnt cringe and is actually cute! shocker! (sorry trauma from heart anniversary lines its so awful im dnfuebdjfjf) devastated such an ideal confession scene was wasted. but its from kazuha trying to save heiji SO FORGIVEN

need to make sure ppl know im a momiji enjoyer. all her faults are forgiven purely cuz she is funny. let a rich girl be delulu !

also loove how they keep cannonizing her keen hearing from m21 THIS IS THE APPEAL OF KAZUHA THEY GET IT

touichi gifting a lost national treasure to his little brother yuusaku for winning the macademy award, as well as keeping in touch with him and gifting various trinkets.... meanwhile keeping his own son completely in the dark that he's alive this entire time...

kills me that everyone is dejected that the katana with the star shaped guard is a lost treasure. meanwhile its quitely sitting in kudo yuusaku's store room cuz his big brother gifted it to him LIKE SDJDJFF!? turning your justice leaning lil bro into an accomplices. the gag potential here is so made for me

shoutout to sonoko who took up haibara's usual information provider role. every scene with her was animated so cutely IM SHOCKED m27 doing excellent job at showing off her cuteness. there is a fun parallel to think about, sonoko was the first person heiji went to to get information on kudo's whereabout, and now heiji is also going to her for information ♥️ heiji-sonoko friendship crumb thank you for the food

this movie really play a lot with the crumbs from kendo school tournament arc. heiji-ran friendship makes me want to cry, ran efficiently karate chopping hijiri to make sure theres no distractions for heikazu 🥺😭 ive been convinced on okita's cuteness the past 3 month cuz if the okita fanart boom in my corner of jp twitter but watching it for myself... he really have it bad for heiji LMAO wdym "it's boring if hattori ain't here~" how much did you say this for kaitou kid to catch that its a good trait for an okita disguise. im glad this movie give a good balance of real okita and fake okita, m10 still makes me so sad for having ZERO real hakuba 🥲 kid's dosu e~ is so moeblob

ah i still got so many word vomit on this movie it seems to be never ending 😭😭

my final review of the movie is this is my no 1 fav conan movie of all time, 2nd place is bride of halloween. i still havent rank anything below that properly. im truly entertained by this movie it got so many characters i care about with a lot of bombastic scenes. as much as i want to say my ultimate fav is m7 and m21, both of them are kinda... slow with all the deduction talk. im here for eye candy after all 😔 mixing kid's energy is doing wonders for the tone of a heiji movie. heiji's presence is also doing wonders for KID as well cuz gosh!!! KID has never emit this much childlike moe blob energy. heiji and conan being the straight man to kid's prank is the dynamic really help to emphasize his whimsical energy

and the final theme i caught; parallelism where hijiri is willing to do anything to protect his father's legacy only for us to find that its all for naught.... now why does this sound familiar 🤔🤔🤔

For day 6 of Crittertember its fav platonic ship. For me it is Dogday and Bubba. I don't know really. Since the very start I always saw Bubba as Dogday's bestie. Mostly due to him being the leader and Bubba the smart guy. When going over PPT chapter 3, I found myself thinking about how the dynamics of the critters would work. At no point did I ever see Catnap as a friend to anyone, at least not at the time. So I thought maybe Dogday's best friend was either gonna be Hoppy or Bubba. I picked Bubba for his differences and how a leader character would find value in an intelligent character. And it also would enhance the tragedy since Bubba died first (according to most theories at least), leaving Dogday without his reliable second in command.

They totally respect each other's strengths and have enough in common to bond over shared interests. In this case they both love the outdoors. As you can see from this pic of them as babbis chasing butterflies. Hiking, fishing, bug collections. I decided Bubba is a happy outdoor boi along with Dogday, though maybe not a sporty type (even though I have an unfinished picture of him playing soccer...). It's just Dogday is the type to jump off a cliff into the lake far below. Bubba won't go that far. For Bubba it is also likely for scientific pursuits. Where as Dogday just wants to chase things. And smell the cool nature smells.

I also have a second favorite platonic ship. Although I guess its more a tie. If you have followed this blog for a while you probably know what it is.

Bobby and Crafty of course! I think their personalities would gel together perfectly. I almost can't explain it. In my mind its just a big "duh". I guess it is because Crafty reminds me of a childhood friend.

We drew a lot together, mostly fanart, and nerded out about shows/ cartoons we both liked. Bobby would always be cheering for Crafty's artistic pursuits and Crafty always wants her best friend to just...be happy! They would do everything together and maybe even read each other's secret diaries!

Also I say Crafty reminds me of a friend. I have to keep in mind Crafty tried to kill someone for "red paint". I don't think my friendship was that volatile lol. But yeah. I don't think the Smiling Cs are fully characters. They are concepts that us fans project our desires onto. It can vary wildly from fan to fan.

Onward to day 7. I'm nervous because I'm trying to write out why I like my otp. Hopefully people understand it.

Okay I'm so curious because I see you posting about it all the time but I never know what is *actually* going on.

What does the zoom booze no doom thing entail? What are the rules? What is the origin story? Can anyone join?

I love when newer mutuals finally ask about Zoom. 😄

So my main and OTP fandom is Berena - Bernie Wolfe & Serena Campbell in the great *giggles* British hospital soap series Holby City.

Zoom, Booze, no Doom was born as an idea to actually watch Berena scenes together. At the end of 2019 this started as a bit of idle talk about how to actually do this, but you know : time zones, private lives, and so on…

Until, at the start of 2020, we suddenly all had nothing much more to do, but sit at home, watch tv, and worry about Covid.

So in April 2020 a weekly Berena Zoom rewatch started, hosted by a fandom friend. Everyone was welcome to join in. We skipped the doom scenes, which is how the name of our Zoom was born, because there was enough doom for everyone in real life, and finished our rewatch around the end of June, if I remember correctly.

The Zoom was fun! It was great to meet fandom friends at least virtually. It was a space to talk and vent and scream about our beloved on our screens. For me, it was something solid in uncertain times.

After we finished the rewatch, I didn’t want to stop zooming, so I took over as the host. We watched all kinds of media with our favs. The good, the mediocre, and the very, very bad things. We branched out. We had Halloween Zooms and Christmas Zooms. Bat’s belated birthday Zoom. Anniversary Zooms. ESC Zooms and live watch Zooms when Doctor Who or Silent Witness aired.

Covid restrictions became less and less, real life took over more space again, I started working and travelling again, but we’re still meeting up whenever I’m home (and not sick *sighs*).

We chat about our lives - there’s definitely more to tell nowadays - then we watch something together, then we chat some more, and at some point I kick everyone out of the Zoom because I’m getting tired. 😄

Some of us have been doing this since the very first Zoom. Some left, some joined in. Some take part whenever their busy life allows. A lot of us met in real life by now. We’re friends. Some of us went to the theatre together as a group from all over the world. While we all seem to suffer from severe writer’s block somehow these days, while Holby City has stopped airing for quite a while, we still hold on to our tiny, close knitted fandom corner. I feel like the Zoom changed our approach towards our fandom quite a bit.

I wouldn’t have thought that we’d make our first anniversary, but now it seems like we might reach our fifth? Five years, huh. Amazing. I love everyone taking part in this and I’m deeply grateful for the friendships grown from the Zoom.

I’ll stop being soppy now.

The rules are quite simple: Be kind. Bring joy. An interest in whatever we’re watching. A love for Berena and their actresses is a good thing.

If someone joins in for the first time, it’s nice if they chose a Zoom name that’s connected to their Tumblr, so we know who they are. Letting me know in advance is appreciated, because I tend to get anxiety if a new name pops up unexpectedly. 😌

So, TGM or Top Gun (1986)? Honestly, I feel like we talk about TGM more, so I'm gonna go with 86.

Favorite character: Goose (I love Carole, I do, but I love her in a fanon way more than anything else because she's just not there for very much)

a random thought: I love Carole's rainbow plaid (madras?) jumpsuit and how fanon has generally decided she loved color from that one outfit (I agree).

An unpopular opinion: I don't actually know that it's unpopular, but Goose wouldn't leave Carole and vice versa. I love their love, and you can add to it, but you can pry their love from my cold, dead hands.

• I started shipping rayemma after I finished the anime and started reading the manga, so 2020 ish

• What makes me happy about them is how genuine their friendship is!! They trust and support eachother and its so sweet. Scenes when they call eachother out for their feelings or when they rely on eachother make me go a little crazy

• What makes me sad about them is obviously the ending of the manga. The disconnect between them after the separation, memory loss, and trauma of Emma successfully hiding somthing from Ray... it's so sad whenever I think about them post canon.

• I really can't think of any annoying tropes of them! I guess when people make Emma stupider then she actually is irks me

• in rayem fics I don't have much preference. I like small in-between moments, I like post canon, just anything where they're freinds and love eachother :-)

• If rayemma wasn't an option and I had to pick different ships, im partial to norrayem as well as violetemma

• I think they trade big spoon / little spoon but unfortunately big spoon Emma is less a spoon and more a backpack. I think it's sweet to imagine it depending on which of them needs comforting

• their fav intimacy I headcanon to be resting together. Ray falls asleep reading? Emma is there for him to lean against. Emma doesn't want to be alone during the night? Ray is already putting his pillow in her bunk. I think they make eachother feel reassured and those rare calm moments would mean a lot to them. 2nd place would go to eating together and 3rd would be reading/ planning together

• Romantically I'm obviously a fan of rayemma. I also thing Violet having a crush on Emma is cute. I'm not much of a fan of Norman but his bond with Emma is definitely somthing that makes it easy to see why they're shipped

• My unpopular opinion about Emma is also the thing I wish had happened in canon but didn't... I wish Emma died or was trapped in the demon world at the end of the series. Don't get me wrong, it would have been devastating! But the ending where she loses her memory but reunites with everyone anyway feels cheap to me. I wish there was greater consequences for her actions

• My crossover (platonic) ship with Emma would be Gon!! I feel like they would get along

• A headcanon I strongly belive in is Emma should be buffer then she is in canon LOL

I'm still on Neverland after the Wendy Bird Fell, so no wonder I ended up grieving again my lost OTP and fav character

Rewatching the Tinker Bell films with my 4-year old cousin (Lydia really hit it home lol), and I keep on thinking how this franchise was my first exposure to mix signals (I mean, not just in shipping, but in general), with how they kept on implying Terence and Tink's romance, but not fully committing to it until it was unfortunately cancelled... like c'mon right? You had Rosetta and Queen Clarion have cute scenes with their boyfriends, but Terence did not even speak. My inner ten-year old self is still angsty about this ship baiting. If y'all just want a representation of girl and boy just being friends, Tink with Clank and Bobble is right there! Ship what you want, but Terence was obviously framed as the love interest, and then they just did nothing with it!

Terence went from having these cute special scenes highlighting his bond with Tinker Bell since the first film, to a background character who doesn't even exchange a line or share a frame with his apparent (to the very least) best friend; Look, he was barely in GFR, but he was the first and last character Tinker Bell spoke to in that movie, and was part of the squad hanging out in the end; his presence and absence were addressed properly with respect to his character and relationship with Tink.

Afterwards... he was just there for a little fanservice in a few seconds. They started the mix signals or ship baiting by SotW when Tink looked at him at the start, and how Peri asked her about them (where she did not even deny if they're dating), yet Terence was with less than a minute screen-time and no spoken dialogue. It's just sad yk (Jesse McCartney was still credited tho lol).

I get that they had to expand the stories and characters somewhere else and he was really too kind of a character who already solved his conflict with the mc (where I think many could see as a mary-sue even tho he had his flaws and fights with Tink), but as the very least, bff character, he was just sadly overlooked. Like, why is he barely there in Pirate Fairy?? The whole movie revolving around his best friend literally is about his expertise lmaoo The writers had to throw away an already established talented dust-keeper fairy just for the plot they wanted like how they did with the concept of winter fairies in SotW.

In the end, maybe some people just don't like or care about him (which is sad, bc how could you not??), or/and the writers just wanted to focus on the girl group (or maybe Jesse's talent fee is too big who knows? haha) ... I mean, it's still good they left it open-ended, so people can ship and interpret it however they want (no wrong with that esp. since the franchise is towards a younger audience and promotes friendships more). My disappointment just mainly comes from the erasure of Terence's importance in the later films. They could have just done what GFR did; he's just a supporting character, but he was still treated as one of Tink's friends. He didn't deserve being shoved aside especially as one of the fairies who originated from the books, and her best friend.

Now, excuse me if I'll watch Lost Treasure for the nth time.

Thinking about Ripaxel again

I think one of the biggest reasons I've come to love it as much as I do is because it does almost everything right where the first gen characters went wrong.

As I've said before, I've been burned before by this show and the way it handles romance. It is not fun to be a Gwen and Courtney fan, and it's especially torturous to have Gwourtney as an OTP considering everything that canon offers.

I also loved Gwent during island, despite the inconsistent writing. Trent's derailment and the messy breakup that followed painting Gwen as the only one in the wrong absolutely destroyed me.

I became obsessed with Gwen's friendship with Courtney. It was so nice to see these two girls whose arcs were normally contextualized by their relationships to breathe and be themselves, without any of the romance drama.

But then the love triangle happened and we all know how I feel about that.

But then All Stars gave me hope. Sure, my fav was incredibly derailed at this point, but it was worth it for the genuine relationship she formed with Courtney.

And then the show spit in my face. Romance and relationships would always suffer just because the plot simply demanded it.

Ripaxel though...doesn't have any of those issues.

Never at one point are they trying to change each other that negatively affects them. Yes, Ripper does change, but he makes the conscious choice to change because he wants to be better. He wants to fix his misogynist tendencies and superiority complex because he knows Axel won't take any of that shit.

Axel on the other hand, sees this. She's willing to give him a chance, and yet she never changed herself besides trying to be more friendly, which she did for herself.

And once they're together, that's it. They are their authentic, better selves. They bring out the best in each other. Axel is the driving force for Ripper to drop his faux persona and be himself. Ripper brings out Axel's sweeter, more compassionate side.

They actively try to better themselves while sticking to who they are because they love each other. And they embrace each and every part of each other.

It's so personally vindicating to see my favorite character flourish in a relationship after the absolute disaster that was Gwen and Courtney's love lives.

No toxicity, no derailment, no drama, just 2 people in a loving, healthy relationship. It's so refreshing to see.

-it sucks bc if you drop the flirting and crush completely, leonardo and karai’s dynamic is really good for both their characters!! new girl in town is legit one of my fav episodes just for how it portrays leo’s conflict with himself as a brother and as a leader. and he and karai’s dynamic is very interesting as friends and/or siblings or cousins.

-it’s one of those pairings where i like them as both a romantic couple and as best friends and they work for both equally!

brotps: soapjay + bombjay + english breakfast! i summarized soap and oj's friendship in my soap post but they work so well together surrounding the hotel and being a caretaker! bomb and oj arc was interesting to watch and i want them to be friends again..it's been a decade cmon guys. english breakfast (i like that name btw) is funny, both hate each other yet share a cigarette outside the hotel occasionally. their rivalry is interesting to me and i wish they would expand on their relationship. especially with taco being domesticated i wonder if oj would let her into the hotel..

How I feel about this character

He is my blorbo and my horse plinko. He was also the first ever fanart piece I ever drew for Hogleg.

I got immediately excited when he first introduced himself as a Gaunt because I knew the background lore for them. I even ran to my friends to tell them about it (they had also just started the game at that time and I was the only one to pick a Slytherin character) but they didn't seem to care as much as me.

Despite that, at first I was more interested in Sebastian, because I'm basic. Ominis cemented himself as my fav only when I got into fanfiction. Then I drew several pieces of him being a small child and being in distress and I'm proud to say that's still my calling card.

All the people I ship romantically with this character Sebastian. And that's it, to be honest. At this point I have extensive headcanons about their relationship dynamic and I just cannot see him with anyone else. I do like to think he at one point had a celebrity crush on Isaac Cooper because of that one NPC line, but I don't think Isaac was even remotely aware of it and it could never have gone anywhere anyway.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I need more stuff with platonic Anne/Ominis like I need air. I know we like to think of Anne, Ominis and Sebastian as a trio, a matched set, but I think the Anne/Ominis and Ominis/Sebastian friendship dynamics were quite different. I like to Imagine Anne as more emotionally intelligent of the Sallow siblings, a trusted confidant, someone Ominis could tell things he couldn't tell Sebastian. Not yet. They would share inside jokes and gossip Sebastian wasn't always *in* on, but that's mostly because he wasn't interested, so there wouldn't be any jealousy. My other OTPs for Ominis are contradictory. Ominis/every iota of happiness he could get and Ominis/pain and misery. I want to see him hurt, I want to see him cry, but at the same time I want him to know everything will be alright. Does that make sense?

My unpopular opinion about this character

Honestly, I think most of my opinions about him are fairly popular. I suppose except one where I'm not only convinced he won't be having any children of his own, for various reasons, but also that he will probably die young. Tragically. He has those vibes to him.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. I really wanted him to high five Sebastian in the face at the end of the game.

i couldn't believe that this was a real fanfiction,because first of all:a decent work with my fav boy,so hard to find nowadays😭secondly:the tropes,characters,aesthetic,lines,all my favorite otps EVERYTHING IS JUST HOW I LOVE.then I started to notice that all the songs that you leave in the chapters are literally my favorites(cas is my fav band ever)and then even weirder:i used to listen to some song,start reading a chapter,see that exact song and i’m like:what the hell???is she reading my mind???

the chapter with them listening to “k” in the car and taking a polaroid picture is too special for me.then you created a playlist and pinterest boards with them: and i almost went crazy,cause i loooove visualization of works.

A ship I have with said character: Despite Sephiroth being one of my favorite characters I don't have many ships for him. Probably Sephiroth/Therapy is the biggest one, he deserves to be happy. Sephiroth being absolutely obsessed with Cloud and Cloud wanting none of it is something I enjoy a little too much. @case-of-traxits may have also used her siren song to lure me into the SephTseng dinghy

A BROTP I have with said character: Sephiroth and Zack. I really like the dynamic they have and I hope we get some interactions with them in Rebirth since it would be heartbreaking for Zack to see the carnage his former friend leaves wherever he goes.

A NOTP I have with said character: AeriSeph, SephTi, Sephentine are my hard ones but it's just my opinion and it's a-okay if you enjoy those ships they're just not for me

A random headcanon: I have so many so I'll give a few short ones

1. Because he grew up in a lab and wore nothing but underwear and a hospital gown for the first 14 years of his life he dislikes wearing clothes, this has proved to be a huge issue in the SOLDIER locker rooms and Lazard has received many "anonymous" complaints that certain SOLDIERS are not doing their part to protect their honor

2. After Nibelheim he has a habit of watching Cloud sleep, it's one of his favorite hobbies, actually

3. His chest straps make him feel secure

4. He doesn't have many memories of Dr. Gast but those he does have are positive and include Dr. Gast telling him stories

5. He tried to escape the lab several times during his childhood which resulted in severe punishment from Hojo each time

General Opinion over said character: Along with Yuffie and Yuna, Sephiroth is my favorite Final Fantasy character. He is so beautifully and tragically written and steals every scene he's in. I could write more but we'd be here all day.

A random headcanon: again I have a few

1. He and Yuffie are roommates post canon. He sometimes regrets this decision

2. Once he gets a phone and learns how to text he is not very good at it and often sends lengthy text messages that sound like letters

3. He has PTSD related memory issues

4. He begins to smell faintly of formaldehyde when he goes for long enough without showering, when he first got out of the coffin this smell was very strong

5. His coffee is more sugar and cream than coffee and he adores the most calorie dense, sugary drinks on the menu at his favorite coffee shop

General Opinion over said character: I love Vincent! He's tied with Aerith and Auron for my second fav Final Fantasy character. I even modded a zine for him and run a fanweek for him at @vincentvalentineweek !
