Hey I was wondering if you can a part 2 of Being friends with Matthew/Kevin/Jack if that’s fine I really want them to reunite with them during chapter 4 🙁❤️ (no pressure and take your time)
POPPY PLAYTIME BRAINROT IS REALLL And ofc, those 3 shaylas deserve so much better and that’s what y/n is for💁‍♀️
Part 1 of what the request was talking about
Tumblr media
Matthew Hallard:
Okay so basically you were the perfect candidate for another toy!!
(it doesn’t matter which one)
When you had to leave the orphanage for a bit because of your “sickness” Matthew was deeply worried and upset.
He did his own check up on you and told the scientist that you were okay but they didn’t really listen to him.
But once you came back you had to get “adopted” the next day??
He was heartbroken but he reluctantly said his goodbye.
Once he really figured out what being “adopted” really meant he instantly thought about you.
It made him angry, furious that some sicko could experiment on a child.
When he was turned into Doey he was more focused on Kevin and Jack.
But then he came across cage with a file next to it.
It was YOUR file, and YOUR body in there.
He read it and his eyes instantly watered and he quickly opened the prison, whether by force or a key.
He would most likely be in control of Doey, so he would ask you a few questions to see if it’s really you.
Once confirmed he almost started to cry but put himself together and brought you to “Safe Haven.”
I’m not sure if he would tell you straight out that he’s Matthew but he would give small hints.
Like knowing your favorite snack, or something like that.
In the end he’s EXTREMELY happy you’re with him again even if you yourself don’t know it.
Kevin Barnes:
You were taken away after he was asleep, so he wouldn’t try to hold onto you.
When he woke up he looked around for you in “Home Sweet Home” but he couldn’t find you anywhere, he got pissed.
He would be mostly alone if you weren’t there with him and he adored the feeling of having a friend so when you were taken away because of some “sickness”, he wasn’t having it.
His violent behavior increased and they had to quickly do something to make him calm down, or force him to(o?)
So they made him the first experiment to be implemented within Doey The Doughman.
One of the scientists even taunted him by saying how maybe he’ll meet you as a toy.
You got turned into a toy as well, another bigger body for the initiative.
You were lost and confused for a while before,
“LET ME OUT LET ME OUT LET ME OUT I SEE MY FRIEND”
“Kevin-!”
How did he know? He didn’t, he just had a hunch which was right.
Of course he couldn’t get out but his excitement got the better of him.
When he finally got control he started to chase after you like he did when you were both human, which you thought he was trying to devour you.
Which wasn’t true but he chased you into a corner, when you thought it was over he grabbed your hand and started dragging you off to “Safe Haven.”
He wasn’t so bad when he was happy was he?
Jack Ayers:
You were taken to the scientist office when jack had fallen into the vat of dough, the last thing he saw before darkness.
And guess whattt, you were turn into a toy who could’ve guessed?
Anywho, once Jack was combined into Doey, you were yet to be made.
But a few months later, after the “Hour of Joy” a new toy was done being finished.
You.
You roamed the halls until Poppy caught sight of you, immediately heading back to “Safe Haven” to tell Doey.
Matthew who was in control of Doey was intrigued and headed out to take a peak at you before anyone else could, whether that be the Doctor of the odd employee running around somewhere.
Around where you were was a VHS tape, easily found and placed in the VCR.
The tape was distributing to say the least, even Kevin was a bit ticked after listening to it.
It contained your moments before death, your screams, cries, pleads, it was heartbreaking for Matthew to hear.
But Jack, recognized that voice, he recognized the name the scientist called, the outline of your form on the operation table.
Jack started to think what you walked into wasn’t an office at all.
His emotions got the better of him and ran from the VHS recording as fast as he could, the last thing he saw was a toy, the toy Poppy was talking about.
The one he ran into.
“Y-y/n..?!”

Untitled Doey X Reader Ch 1
Update: Now on ao3, updates will be posted there (and linked via tumblr) -> https://archiveofourown.org/works/63346465/chapters/162287860
So uh. Decided to do this. I'll put it up on ao3 eventually (with slightly more editing maybe), probably sometime after I get chapter 2 written. And after I figure out a title.
Summary: After the destruction of the Playtime Co factory, Doey finds what little remains of himself falling through the cave systems and into a river, where he's brought practically to your door.
----
Doey had been so sure he’d been killed.
He’s died three times after all. It’s a familiar feeling.
Darkness. Numbness. A chilling cold that reaches through his body and wraps around his very consciousness, pulling him down…down…down……
Surely this time he won’t be pulled back. Who’s left to even try? The Doctor’s dead, Doey’s family at Safe Haven are all dead…whatever few remain alive in the factory’s underbelly are probably close behind, if Poppy has anything to say about it.
Doey’s not sure how much time passes between that thought and the explosion. A minute? An hour? A week? A year?
He’s not formed enough to see, nor to hear. But he feels the depths of the factory, of the very caves themselves, shudder and then quake as a fierce explosion rips through the labs. Fire and smoke rush through the lab, then the prison, then Playcare, and finally the factory proper, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Not everything is burned. Much of the lower levels are made of steel and rock, after all. The heat that does pass over the puddle of dough that had once been Doey is intense, and would probably leave humans and plush toys singed, but it only serves to dry Doey out ever so slightly. Not enough to make much difference though. He’s still too weak and liquified to pull himself together, assuming he could even care to try such a thing.
Silence settles over the factory and the caverns below. Once again Doey is not sure how much time passes before the peace, if it can be called that, is broken.
Something, some support or load bearing wall, finally gives way somewhere in depths, starting a chain reaction, and the whole wretched place begins collapsing in on itself, just as Poppy had wanted. What the fire had spared the collapse does not, and the floor below Doey slants, causing him to slide along it as gravity takes hold.
He doesn’t even try to stop himself from spilling down through the caverns, the bits of dough that still contain hints of who he used to be rolling and tumbling down the crevices. Even the unpleasant sensation of sliding into a frigid underground river can’t motivate him to try and re-form his body.
Doey fades in and out of consciousness, each time wondering if he’s fading in and out of existence. The water eventually warms, and Doey’s aware of occasional glimpses of light as the river carries him out of the underground.
After awhile, the rushing river fades into a shallow, trickling creek. Doey’s dough bumps numbly along the smooth pebbles of the creek bed for a time until getting caught on a fallen log.
He can almost muster the strength to be surprised that he’s made it out of the factory. Almost. But he can’t imagine he’s meant to survive much longer.
So he waits. Waits to sink just a little bit further into the cold, to sink far enough that he won’t be pulled back ever again.
Time continues to pass. Several days, maybe even several weeks. He still can’t bring himself to stay conscious long enough to mark time, but it goes from dark to light and back again more times than he can count.
He lets the days pass, feeling the creek wash over him. He begins to hear again, just a bit. It’s muted from where he is beneath the water, but he can still make out some noises. So he contents himself with listening to the babbling of the creek, the chirping of birds, and the wind through the leaves. He thinks he’s in some kind of forest. How far from the factory he is, how far away from anything he is, he can only guess.
Maybe this is what death is. A drifting, vague awareness…barely aware of his own body, his own senses, but just feeling the world pass by around him.
It’s not terrible. Certainly not the worst thing he’s been through.
Doey has just enough time to adjust to his new existence when he hears something he hasn’t heard in a long, long time.
Voices.
*
Hiking through nature is always the first thing people seem to want to recommend to you when they sense you’re dealing with some kind of struggle. Especially those who realize you live on a few acres of mostly forested land.
To be fair, they aren’t entirely wrong…though admittedly you do find it a bit tedious to be recommended the same thing over and over when it’s already been a habit of yours for a few years.
Especially when you hadn’t asked.
But what are you to do when your main source of stress actively--physically--follows you on said hikes?
Ethan Barlowe, who owns the acreage just to the west of yours. You’re not sure how long he’s owned it, but it’s at least a few years more than your family’s owned your plot of land.
He’s roughly middle-aged, a bit older than your parents would have been, you think. He’s taller than you and decently fit, usually wearing some combination of flannel and denim. His face has the slightly weathered look of one who’s spent most of their life outdoors.
“They can even divide up the plot so you can keep your house right where it is,” he’s saying. “You don’t even have to move!”
A sales pitch you’ve heard dozens of times before…and it’s no more compelling today than it had been six months ago.
“Ethan, I said no,” you say for what feels like the millionth time.
“Oh come on! It’s not good for a kid your age to be living alone, without even any neighbors,” he protests.
You give him a deadpan look. Do you point out that, at twenty-four, you’re not exactly a “kid” anymore? Or tell him he’s currently doing a terrible job of selling you on the idea of neighbors in general?
“Look, I’m sure your dad would have rather the house itself stayed with you, even if the land doesn’t.”
That’s a new one.
You stop so abruptly he almost crashes into you. “I think I knew him better than you, Ethan,” you say tightly.
“In some ways, but--”
“In every way!” you shout, actually causing his eyes to widen for a brief second as he takes a step back.
It’s that shout that attracts Doey’s attention. He’s so used to intervening in fights in the Playcare as Matthew, then in Safe Haven as Doey, that it doesn’t even occur to him to do differently now. He immediately begins re-forming his body, listening closely to the conversation as he does.
You suck in a shaky breath. “Get off my property. Don’t ever come here again,” you say coldly.
Ethan stares at you in stunned silence for a moment before scoffing and shaking his head. “You can’t do that. Your dad and I had an agreement about the pond--”
“Yeah, and that’s done,” you say tersely. “Now leave, or I’ll be calling the cops.”
Ethan scoffs. “Right, because you have such a great track record with them,” he sneers.
Doey’s body reforms, and he realizes with a surge of dread that there’s not nearly as much left of him as he’d been assuming.
He’s barely six inches tall!
He’s not sure what he’s going to do now…although, in retrospect, he’s also not sure what he would have done before. You and Ethan would have been too shocked by the nine-hundred pound dough creature for Doey to have done anything in the way of mediating or intervention.
…Though it definitely would have ended the argument.
You and Ethan are a few feet away, on some kind of dirt path. The type that seems to be formed from repeated hikes rather than a deliberate attempt at making a pathway. The path runs alongside the creek, and Doey currently stands hidden in some tall grass and reeds that grow at the edges of the water.
The surrounding area is dominated by the rusty browns of late autumn, the yellows and oranges have faded away as the leaves begin to fall.
Doey’d been down in the factory for so long he’d nearly forgotten that seasons even exist.
“Th-That doesn’t matter!” you protest, though the uncertainty in your tone is clear.
“Doesn’t it? You really think they’ll believe some hooligan kid over me? I got a clean slate, kid,” Ethan smirks, stepping towards you.
Your eyes widen at his menacing tone, and now it’s your turn to step back.
Doey can’t help but glower at the implied threat. He generally tries to not pick sides, but if he were to pick a side, it certainly wouldn’t be Ethan’s.
Ethan grabs your wrist, pulling you towards himself as he glares down at you, and you’re suddenly very aware that you’re out in the woods alone. The only nearby houses are yours and Ethan’s, and you left your cellphone at home.
It’s all Doey can do to keep silent as he tries to come up with a plan. If he were his proper size, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself rushing forward and putting himself between you and Ethan.
“Now listen, kid. There’s no way you’re making enough to keep this place. You think you’re fine to coast along on that little nest egg your dad left, but it’ll be gone before you know it. Trust me. I know how the world works. I’m doing you a favor.”
“L-Let go…” you finally manage to utter a meek protest.
Ethan’s gaze hardens, his grip only tightening when you try to pull away.
Doey’s eyes narrow as he resists the urge to let a low, angry growl at how this man’s treating you. If he thought running at the man only to be effortlessly kicked back into the creek would somehow help you, he’d certainly do it, but…he’s not convinced such a gesture would help.
In a split second, the solution comes to him. Well, a solution, anyway.
He steps back into the tall grass, hiding himself.
“Hey, what was that?” he calls out. He pitches his voice up slightly, hoping it sounds convincing as a second person, and answers, “Dunno, sounded like yelling?”
Ethan blanches and quickly drops your hand, taking a few hasty steps back.
Doey grins. The plan’s working! Switching back to his normal voice, he calls out, “Hey, everyone okay over there?”
“Perfectly fine!” Ethan quickly calls out. He clears his throat awkwardly, his eyes darting to you. His brow lowers in a warning glare. “Think about it, kid,” he says quietly.
With that, he turns on his heel and leaves, heading down the dirt path while you stare after him.
Doey pumps his fist in a silent cheer. That went perfectly! Better than he thought it would, in fact. He’d been hoping Ethan would simply cool it with the intimidation if he’d thought there could be witnesses. Him leaving entirely had been but a distant hope.
Once Ethan rounds the corner and disappears from view among the trees, your gaze snaps towards the voices. They’d sounded close…so close you’re surprised you don’t see any sign of the ones who’d spoken.
“Hello?” you call out, walking towards the creek.
Doey’s smile vanishes and he tenses. He hadn’t considered the possibility that you or Ethan would try to find the source of the voices.
“Who’s there?” you call. You walk forward, the edge of the shallow creek lapping at your boots as you stand only inches from Doey’s hiding spot. “N-Not that it’s…a big deal, but…whoever you are, you…you do know this is private property?” you call out timidly, only to wince at how meek you sound. You’re not exactly feeling confident about protecting your land from intruders at the moment…
Doey flinches. Shoot. Maybe tricking you into thinking there were two more people wandering your property without your knowledge or permission hadn’t been the greatest idea.
“Um, we um, won’t be staying long!” he calls out hastily.
You frown. Why did they sound so much more nervous now? Are they up to something? Or just fretting over their (presumably accidental) trespassing?
And why did their voice sound so close…and so low to the ground? Sound can carry oddly in the forest sometimes, but usually people sound further than they are, not closer…
“You’re not…lost or something, are you…?” you ask.
Something about the simple question tugs at his heart--or whatever mass of clay in his chest serves as such.
Because, he realizes, he is lost. In every sense of the word. More than he’s ever been in his entire life.
He lifts his gaze to you, watching as you continue to glance around for the source of the voice, your brow knit in worry. Worry for yourself, at the prospect of unknown strangers wandering around on your property? Or worry for said strangers, lost in the woods?
Doey could show himself and ease both worries, but that might just cause a whole new set of problems. Not for Doey, of course…unless you have some freezing gas on you, it isn’t as if you can really hurt him. So whatever your reaction, he’ll be no worse off than he already is.
He doesn’t want to frighten you…Many children in the factory, and even adults sometimes, had been frightened of him, especially at first glance. While his height is about average as far as Bigger Bodies go, he’s one of the more stoutly build ones, and his lack of fluff and fur make him a bit less approachable than many of the other Bigger Bodies.
There’s a reason Doey the Doughman was usually portrayed as tiny in the commercials.
…Actually, that’s about the height he is now. So maybe the sight of him won’t be that startling to you after all.
“H-Hello?” you call out, pulling Doey from his thoughts as he realizes he’s been silent for several moments.
“Yeah! I-I’m here!” he says quickly.
“Where?” you ask, still glancing around, clearly looking for someone closer to your own height.
Well. Time to see if he’s going to be punted into the creek. “D-Down here.”
You glance down, seeing the tall grass part. A small blue figure peeks out. You don’t for a minute assume this little thing is the owner of the deep, resonant voice you’d been hearing. You don’t think the figure itself has any sort of voice…it just looks like a little toy made of colored dough. It looks familiar, but you can’t quite place it.
You crouch down for a closer look and Doey scoots back nervously. He’s…really not used to being towered over like this. But he forces a small, awkward smile, lifting a hand in the wave. “H-Hiya!”
You hadn’t expected the figure to move so fluidly. Even his face and eyes change shape as he speaks, and there’s a slight wobble to his round belly and big arms as he moves that a mere remote-controlled toy wouldn’t have.
He’s REAL.
The abrupt realization causes you to squeak in surprise, stumbling back. Your boot catches on a rock and you fall sideways into the creek. As you try to catch yourself, your hand hits the pebbly creek bed, causing a bolt of pain in your wrist.
The creek’s only about four inches deep, but falling onto your side and then thrashing about as you try to scramble away from the creature has left you completely soaked.
Doey winces. Evidently the sight of him is still shocking, even at this size.
But…he supposes you’d’ve never seen anything like him. Unless maybe you’d gone on a tour of the Playtime Co factory as a kid, but even then…grownups almost always dismissed the living toys as some kind of animatronics, sophisticated puppetry, or other such illusion.
Did anyone outside of the factory even realize that living toys had been in existence for…decades now?
“S-Sorry, pal…didn’t mean to scare ya,” he says, holding up his hands. He slowly approaches you, much the way he would have a frightened child in Playcare…despite you being well over ten times his size. Not to mention an adult.
“Wh-What…a-are you?” you manage to stammer out. Your eyes are locked onto him as he moves towards you, but manage to resist the urge to scramble back any further.
“The name’s Doey!” he says, puffing his chest out slightly. He reaches up to remove his hat, only to find it missing. Of course, there’s no way it would have stayed with him on his involuntary journey. Pity…he liked that hat.
But the problem is easily remedied.
He forms a new hat in his hand, this one the same light blue clay as his upper body instead of the darker blue plastic of his old accessory. Hat in hand, he brightens and takes a bow. “Doey the Doughman!” he finishes, placing the clay hat atop his head.
Doey grins up at you, watching your look of fear fade to curiosity. He can almost see the tension--some of it, at least--leave your shoulders as you relax ever so slightly. You clutch your injured wrist to your chest, canting your head as you regard him.
His kind tone and jovial nature seem to be winning you over, just as they’ve won over so many orphans and factory visitors (and even a few staff) before.
“Doey the Doughman…?” you repeat. You suddenly double take, blinking rapidly as you finally place both the name and his appearance. “A-As in…Doey-Dough?”
“Yep! That’s me!” he says proudly. “And what’s your name?” he asks in the gentle yet exaggeratedly eager tone of an adult trying to get an answer from a very shy child.
“Um.”  You’re still reeling from being in the presence of some kind of…talking clay creature, so it actually takes a moment to process and answer the question. But, after a moment, you manage to speak your own name, mostly without fumbling. Mostly.
“That’s a nice name!” he says kindly, his eyes closing into happy crescents as beams up at you. His smile fades slightly, his expression growing concerned. “But that looked like a nasty fall. You alright?” he asks gently.
“Y-Yeah, I um…just tweaked my wrist a bit…” you say distantly.
“Can I see?”
You hesitate. He’s so small…not to mention being made of sculpting clay. It’s hard to imagine such a creature is even capable of doing you harm, and he’s certainly not acting like he wants to.
You’re just about to extend your arm to him when he lets out an embarrassed laugh, shaking his head. “Oh, but you’d probably wanna get out of that creek first, huh?”
Despite your shock, you manage a small laugh at the quip. Not only because you’d managed to forget you were even sitting in a creek, but…well, Doey’s laugh is more than a little infectious.
“R-Right…” you manage. You pull yourself out the creek, taking a few steps to find one of the larger, flat rocks beside the creek to sit on. You don’t take your eyes off Doey for even a second. Not because you think he’d do anything, but…this whole thing feels so surreal, you can’t help but wonder if he’d disappear entirely if he left your line of sight.
You’re debating if you should offer him a hand up, but to your surprise he stretches his arms high above his head (nearly a whole two feet) and grabs onto the edge of the rock, pulling himself up effortlessly.
“Now, let’s have a look, huh?” he asks, holding out his hands.
“I-I think it’s just a sprain…and not even a very bad one…” you say, holding out your wrist to let him examine it.
“Well that’s good!” he says earnestly, taking your wrist in his hands. Holding a human wrist that’s almost as big around as him is a bit jarring, but he doesn’t let that show as he checks over your injury.
You’re surprised that his hands actually give off a bit of warmth. Not much, but more than you’d expect from clay that’s been sitting out in the autumn chill. It also has a bit more give than you’d expected. Not quite as soft as human hands, but just slightly squishy, similar to putty or clay that’s been worked for awhile.
He holds your wrist in one hand, using the other to carefully move your hand up and down, watching you closely for any signs of pain.
“S-So um, where’s the other one?” you finally ask.
He glances up at you blankly. “Other? Oh!” He laughs, shaking his head. “Just me,” he says. “Figured one witness might not be enough to drive the guy off, but two probably would be.” He releases your wrist, giving your hand a light pat. “You’re all set! Just be careful with it for a couple days.”
You’d been too surprised at just the existence of this creature that you hadn’t had time to ponder the reasoning for what he’d been doing. But as you do, you cant your head in confusion. “Why’d you want to drive him off?”
Doey seems surprised at the question, mimicking your head tilt as he looks up at you. “Because he was bothering you.” He pauses, wondering if perhaps he’d misread the situation. “...Wasn’t he?”
You grip your sore wrist, lightly rubbing at it. “Well…yeah, but…you just…decided to help me? A stranger? For no reason?”
Once again he meets your confusion with his own. “It’s not for no reason…I don’t like seeing people get picked on…”
“But isn’t it dangerous for you? What if he’d seen you?”
He blinks, momentarily surprised at your concern, but then grins up at you playfully. “Worried about me? A stranger?”
You pause a moment, then give a slightly sheepish laugh. “Heh…point taken…”
“Besides…I’m pretty durable,” he says, placing a hand on each side of his head and briefly squishing it like a bouncy ball.
You don’t find the action as amusing as Doey’d hoped you would. You blanch slightly, giving a slight shake of your head that looks more like a shudder. “This…This is impossible…” you say in a small voice.
His grin falters a bit. Maybe he shouldn’t be surprised that the wonder and whimsy of a living toy is easy to accept as a kid in a toy factory…less so as an adult out in the woods.
“Where did you come from? And why are you just…out in the woods like this?” you ask. Despite the situation, there’s a note of concern in your voice at the thought of the little guy out here alone. Even if he does insist he’s quite durable.
Some fragments of Kevin and Jack stir unpleasantly at the questioning, but Doey manages to quickly still them. He’s not sure how much he should tell you…how much he could even stand to tell you. But he’s not partial to lying, and some amount of explanation would probably put you at ease.
The slight pause before he speaks is barely noticeable. “I’m from the Playtime Co factory, of course!” he announces cheerfully.
You frown. “The one that was demolished?”
His face falls. “...Demolished?”
Not demolished! Lies. Destroyed. By mean Poppy, mean Doctor, mean employee…HURTS. HURTS US.
Doey shudders, staggering back and wrapping his arms around himself. “We’re okay…you’re okay…” he mumbles to himself. To all the pieces of himself.
His pained expression pulls at your heart, pushing aside the impossibility of the situation. You suddenly realize that whatever journey he’d taken from the now-demolished factory to way out here was probably not a pleasant one.
“I-I’m sorry!” you say quickly. You reach forward, cupping a hand beside him to steady him, though not touching him. “I…I shouldn’t pry…you don’t have to tell me if…it’s painful…”
To your surprise, he slumps against your hand, a dejected look on his face. He’d seemed so bright and cheerful a moment ago…you guess you’d bumped up against quite the wound to have his mood do such a turn.
Well…you can certainly relate to that.
Doey’s not even looking at you as he stays slouched against your hand, hugging himself and occasionally muttering things you can’t quite hear.
He’d managed to slip into his old role of protector and caretaker when he’d stepped in to help you. Calming you down and easing your apprehension had been much like his time before the Hour of Joy, when he’d play with the kids of Playcare. He’d always been good at making kids feel safe…and he’d been relieved to see those techniques could work on you, even if you’re an adult.
He could almost pretend it was the old days. The setting had changed a bit…and you may not be a child, but you still needed protection from bullies and comfort for only minor, very manageable injuries.
Nothing perilous.
Nothing life threatening.
He could still be the protector, the caretaker…just as he had back when the crown had been lighter.
“Um…Doey?” you prompt gently, pulling him out of his spiral and causing him to blink up at you in confusion.
He pulls away from your hand, his own hands fidgeting awkwardly as a halfhearted smile returns to his face. “Yes?”
“You don’t have to answer if you’d rather not, but…is…is there somewhere you’re going? Somewhere I can help you get to?”
Doey’s eyes widen slightly as he’s caught off guard at the question. He laughs, waving a hand. “Oh, no no, pal, you…you don’t gotta do anything for me!”
“You didn’t have to do anything for me,” you counter. “Besides, maybe it’s…none of my business, but…the woods doesn’t seem like a great place for a little guy like you…” As you speak, a poorly-timed (or well-timed, perhaps) gust of wind cuts through the trees, making your already chilled, wet clothes positively frigid. You shiver, puffing warm air on your hands and rubbing them together. “And I think it’s going to be cold tonight…they say it’ll snow this weekend…”
Doey’s not technically capable of changing color, but you swear the blue clay of his face gets a couple shades paler as a look of pure dread crosses his face. “Well I’m…I’m not…heading anywhere…” he finally says.
“Then…would you like to come with me?” you ask, holding out your hand again.
“With you? To where?”
You laugh awkwardly. Maybe you could have phrased your offer a bit more directly. “My house,” you say.
Doey sputters in surprise, at a loss for words. “Y-Your…house?” he finally manages. “I…you’d…take me in? Just like that?”
“You did help me,” you say. “And I wouldn’t feel right leaving you out here all alone…” you add, your expression softening.
His hands fidget nervously as he glances at your open palm beside him. “If it’s…really not too much trouble…” he says, resting his hand atop one of your fingers.
You smile, shaking your head. “It’s really not,” you say kindly.
He hesitates once more, then finally climbs onto your hand. “Th-Thank you…” he says softly…almost somberly, in fact.
You slowly lift your hand, cupping your free hand near him protectively. You carefully slide off the rock and begin the walk home.
Doey’s a bit of an enigma--in more ways than one. You should be reeling from his mere existence. Maybe you’re just in shock or something, and the staggering reality of a living clay toy will hit you like a brick wall later on.
You suppose you’ll just have to hope it’s a bit gentler than that.
But what’s mainly on your mind at the moment is his behavior. He’d seemed so at ease when you’d first encountered him. Almost more concerned about you than himself. But mentioning the demolition of the factory had shattered that.
You reach the same conclusion you had earlier--whatever circumstances had led a lone, sapient toy to be lost in the woods--so lost and alone he can’t even suggest a place for you to take him--can’t be good.
You keep the hand he’s seated in close to your body, cupping the other hand near it to keep him from falling. Not that you’re walking anywhere near quick enough for that to be a real concern. He’s actually a little surprised at just how carefully you hold him, even after being told he can’t be hurt.
“So um,” he begins hesitantly, wanting to fill the silence. “Does that guy bother you…often?”
“Ethan?” you ask. “It uh…depends on your definition of ‘often’, I guess, but more often than I’d like. He’s my neighbor. He’s been coming by during my walks to try to talk me into selling my land…I guess I’ll just have to change what time I go for walks.”
You’ve already tried that three times now. The first time had brought you a couple weeks of peace. The second had brought one week. The third had brought even less.
“He wants to buy your land?”
You shake your head. “Not exactly. He has some…housing developer or something that he’s in touch with. He wants us both to sell our properties together for a subdivision. I guess they’ll pay more if they know they can get both properties? I don’t…really know all the details,” you admit. “I haven’t been interested in finding out. I just know that I want to keep this place.”
“Is there anyone you can ask for help? A parent or a counselor, maybe?”
You quirk a brow at the “counselor” suggestion…but if he was in the factory, maybe he’s just more used to talking to children? He probably just doesn’t know what options adults out in the real world have at their disposal.
“Well, I don’t have a counselor, and both my parents passed away,” you say simply.
“Oh…you’re an orphan?” he asks, looking up at you sadly, gently resting a hand against one of your fingers in what you assume must be meant as a comforting gesture.
“Er, not exactly? Dad only died a few years ago…I was an adult,” you clarify. “People usually only say ‘orphan’ if you’re still a kid.”
“Do they? I…I hadn’t realized…” he admits thoughtfully. “Still, though…” he adds, looking up at you worriedly, an unspoken question hanging in the air.
It’s the same unspoken question that always seems to hang after you tell people your parents are dead. A question you usually brush off with some platitude about being fine and just trying to live a life that would make them proud before steering the conversation away.
But…Doey’s sadness seems so genuine. Not that you think other people fake it per se, but a lot of them seem more awkward about the potential landmines they might step on or just at a loss for words, but…Doey seems like he’s actually more concerned about you rather than any sort of social etiquette.
He’s probably worked with orphans before, you realize. There was some sort of adoption program or orphanage associated with Playtime Co. You don’t know all the details, but maybe Doey had worked with those kids?
You smile sadly. “I’m alright. They’re at peace. And I’m um…getting there,” you say. Usually you just say you are at peace, but something about his earnest sympathy invites honesty. “I just um…try to do right by their memories, y’know?” you add.
Doey’s smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes. “They’d be very proud of you. You’re very brave, you know,” he says. It’s a line he’d repeated hundreds of times to hundreds of orphans in the Playcare, and then in Safe Haven. And he’s meant it every time, including now.
You, though, are not used to being spoken to so warmly, so soothingly about the matter. Even your grief counselor had been…well, not cold but…she’d had a job to do, you suppose, so her tone and manner had seemed more…distant, than the way Doey’s been speaking to you.
It catches you off guard, to put it mildly.
You glance away, clearing your throat and pretending to scratch at a spot on your cheek so you could wipe away a stray tear without Doey noticing. “R-Right, th-thanks…” you mumble hoarsely.
It’s been years since you’ve gone to pieces in front of anyone, and you’re not going to break that streak now.
Doey frowns at your reaction. It hadn’t been quite the one he’d hoped for.
You force a smile at him, not wanting him to think you’re upset with him. “Sorry. It’s just…been a busy day. I’m a bit…um…tense right now, I guess,” you say in a flimsy attempt waving off your reaction.
“You don’t gotta apologize, pal!” he says easily, patting your hand.
You emerge from the forest and begin crossing the small patch of grass that surrounds your house, serving as the lawn. You tilt your head towards your home and Doey follows your gaze.
“We’re just about here,” you say.
Doey peeks over your fingers, following your gaze towards the house. It’s one story tall, and…well, it’s hard for Doey to guess much more of that. He thinks it’s slightly bigger than Matthew’s old home but slightly smaller than Jack’s, but between his new size and how hazy those old memories are, even that rough guess is hard to put much stock in.
You enter through a small side door that opens into a mudroom. You kick off your boots and step onto the kitchen. “Do you mind waiting here while I change? I can show you around a bit more once I get into some dry clothes,” you say.
“Of course!” he says easily.
You make as if to set him on the counter, only to pause. “Um, would you rather be on the counter or the floor?” you ask.
He looks amused at the question, chuckling. “Eh, you can just toss me wherever,” he says playfully, waving a hand.
You laugh, shaking your head as you set him carefully on the countertop. “I’m not going to toss you, Doey!”
Once again, something in him warms as you take far more care with him than you need to.
“I’ll be back in a minute,” you say, heading to your room on the other side of the house. You lift your hand in a small wave, which Doey returns with his usual large grin.
Once you’re gone, he glances around the kitchen. It doesn’t look much different from any of the kitchens Matthew, Jack, and Kevin had glimpsed in their time before coming to Playcare. Off-white laminate countertops and floors, brown wooden cabinets, flowery wallpaper that’s peeling in a couple places, and the usual assortment of appliances.
You change quickly, not wanting to leave Doey alone for too long. You’re still pulling on your hoodie when you re-enter the kitchen. “Are you cold at all?” you ask. “Do you need like…a blanket or anything? Something to eat?” You pause. “Erm, do you eat?”
Doey’s expression goes slack for a moment and you’re not sure what to make of the reaction, but clearly the question has struck something in him.
“I um! YES--NO!!” He cuts himself off so abruptly it almost sounds like he’s being silenced by someone else. “YES--SOMETIMES!!” He clutches at his head, clenching his eyes shut. After a moment he seems to relax, running his hands down his face to reveal an utterly exhausted expression. Somehow it even looks like he has bags under his eyes.
“Hey, it’s alright…just relax…” you say gently. You reach out to put a hand against him, only to pull back without touching him. You’re not sure if being patted by a hand nearly as long as him would really help with the whole relaxing thing.
“S-Sorry…” he mumbles, looking away shamefully at his outburst. “I um. I…I forgot how hungry I am. I…I usually just…try not to think about it.”
“So you do eat…” you say. “And it sounds like you haven’t in awhile…?”
“I…don’t have to. I’ve gone months without eating. It doesn’t seem to matter. The hunger is…it’s just a feeling. I can tune it out most of the time,” he says, not meeting your eye as he wrings his hands.
You pull back in surprise. “Doey, I’m…I’m not going to make you go hungry!” you protest, aghast.
“But…it’s just…food’s not free, right?” he asks hesitantly, finally lifting his gaze to you.
“Well, no…” you admit. “But it’s not gold bars and diamonds, either.” You smile gently. “Besides, you’re six inches tall…I doubt you eat more than I do,” you say lightly.
He gives a sheepish smile and nervous laugh, which you chalk up to general nervousness. “Heh…right…”
“I was about to make dinner…I usually make enough for a couple meals, so it’d be no trouble to fix you a plate. Whatever you don’t finish can be breakfast tomorrow. Anything in particular you like?”
Doey briefly pulls a face as if he’s literally biting his tongue to keep from speaking…though you’re not sure if he actually has a tongue. “Um. Wh-Whatever you’re eating is fine. Doesn’t have to be anything special, I…I can eat just about anything…”
He hasn’t liked any of the “food” he’s had in years. Not since Hoppy found that last box of candy up in Playcare…and even then, it had expired years before she’d found it. But easing the hunger, even for a moment, had always been such a relief that he’d actually started to forget that flavor is even a factor in food.
You rest against the counter, debating whether to press the issue. After a moment you decide not to. “Mac and cheese?” you offer.
He gives a sigh of longing that sounds halfway like a sob. “Y-Yes. That…that sounds wonderful.”
“Then mac and cheese it is,” you say warmly.
You begin the prep work, letting the conversation lapse as you wonder at your strange new guest. You’ve barely scratched the surface of who and what he is, but it still breaks your heart how reluctant he is to accept any sort of hospitality from you…especially with how readily he’d stepped in to help with Ethan.
It’s possible he just naturally has a very giving and self-sufficient personality, but you can’t help but wonder if someone, or several someones, in his past had made him feel just…undeserving.
The boxed mac and cheese you make is a family-sized meal, so even scooping out two full portions for yourself and Doey leaves plenty for tomorrow’s leftovers.
Doey’s eyes widen at the sight of the full bowl. He tries to utter a protest--you don’t need to give him that much, that just half a bowl would be more than enough, but fragments of Kevin and Jack bubble to the surface, silencing him as their hunger roars within him.
You take the bowls to the table before returning for the silverware. You’re not completely oblivious to Doey’s inner turmoil, but you don’t even come close to guessing the extent of it, assuming he’s just a bit shy about accepting your hospitality.
As you’re reaching for forks, you pause. The forks are longer than Doey himself…would he be able to use one? You open the other drawer, grabbing the smallest measuring spoon you have. It’s still a bit big--but trying to eat mac and cheese with a garden trowel is still easier than eating it with a pitchfork, you suppose.
You set the silverware on the table and return to the counter to get Doey. Before you can, however, he leaps from the countertop, causing you to let out a wordless cry of protest, scrambling to catch him.
He lands with a splat, his lower body flattening against the floor. But before you can even wonder if such an act is painful, he bounces back up, his lower body rounding back out so quickly his feet actually leave the floor for a second.
Doey gives a sheepish giggle at your fretful look. “Eheh…sorry pal, didn’t mean to scare you.” He winks, waggling a finger at you playfully. “I did tell you I’m durable, though,” he reminds you in a slightly teasing tone.
You feel your cheeks warming with embarrassment. “R-Right…it’s um…just a bit jarring to see, is all…”
“Well, I’ll be sure to warn ya next time then,” he chuckles.
You hold out a hand, assuming he’ll still need help getting onto the table. He laughs again, shaking his head as he walks past you. “You don’t need to carry me around either, much as I appreciate the offer,” he says.
Not that he’d minded being held, but…well, it’s probably not something you’d choose to do if you were aware of just how mobile Doey is, even at his smaller size.
You get to your feet as he walks past you. “Oh um, alright…” you say, figuring he knows what he’s talking about.
And indeed he does, for he stretches his arms upward, gripping the side of the table. He then lifts himself so quickly that his momentum carries him over the edge. He rolls as he lands, ending up sitting atop the table facing you. He grins widely, giving you a thumbs up.
“Heh,” you laugh weakly, returning the thumbs up before taking your seat. He’s more physically adept than you’d initially assumed…maybe his time in the forest hadn’t been as harrowing as you’d thought.
Doey manages to keep the more impulsive fragments within him in check. It’s incredibly difficult to pick up the little measuring spoon and eat with anything resembling decorum, but Doey manages to convince Jack and even Kevin that good manners will get them more meals. You’re not going to want to keep making him food if he splatters it all over the table and walls, or even if he just grosses you out with poor mealtime etiquette.
Jack is pretty easily swayed by this argument, as it matches up with his childhood memories from home. Kevin is less convinced--he wants to take all he can before you change your mind, but he’s overruled, and even he can’t completely discount how readily you offered the meal even knowing Doey doesn’t technically need it.
Still, while his manners are far more polite than not, he doesn’t even come close to hiding how much he’s relishing the meal. Each bite causes him to emit a happy little hum at the delicious flavor--oh how he’s missed flavor--and occasionally do a little bounce or kick his feet as he savors the taste.
You try not to react at first, not wanting to make him self-conscious, but eventually a small giggle escapes you, causing him to flinch sheepishly, giving you an apologetic smile.
“S-Sorry, it’s…it’s just very good!” he says with an awkward giggle.
“No sorries!” you say quickly, waving a hand. “I’ve just never had anyone enjoy my cooking nearly that much. If anything, it’s flattering!” you assure him lightly.
Well, that’s a relief, though Doey’s still not convinced flattery would be the first thing on your mind if he allowed himself to eat as greedily as he wants to.
He only eats a little more than half his portion. Not quite enough to fully quiet his long hunger, but enough to appease the fragments of Kevin and Jack. He doesn’t want to appear greedy, and despite your earlier comments, he can’t help but feel he’ll quickly wear out his welcome if he eats as much as a human, especially at his small size.
It’s still a far better meal than he’s had in over a decade, though.
“Mmm…that hit the spot,” he sighs contentedly, laying back on the table. His belly is noticeably distended, to a degree that would be concerning for a human. You debate asking him about it, but decide against it. He seems happy and content, and despite how jovial and even playful he seems a lot of the time, you’ve also seen how quickly that can turn.
Again, you can relate.
“Thank you, by the way,” he says in a more somber tone as he lays back, staring up at the kitchen ceiling. “F-For dinner, and…e-everything…”
“Thank you for helping with Ethan.”
He gives a vague hum of affirmation. “Didn’t do much…Should help with…the dishes…” he mumbles.
You quickly stash the leftovers in the fridge and return to the table. “Doey? Are you alright?” you ask, letting a bit of urgency slip into your tone.
His eyes are closed, his hands folded atop his belly. “Hmm?” he mumbles tiredly.
“You’re…um, you’re just falling asleep, right? Do you…need anything?”
“Mm-mm,” he mumbles. “Just sleepy. Haven’t really…slept in awhile…”
Your brow knits at the statement. Does he mean that literally? Or just that he hasn’t had a good night’s sleep in awhile? Or is sleep “optional” for him the same way food seems to be?
“Well, why don’t we get you somewhere more comfortable, then?” you offer.
He doesn’t answer, but you faintly hear the sound of the slow, steady breathing of someone fast asleep.
You don’t want to leave him on the table. You’re not sure how much ergonomics matter to a little dough man, but…surely a bed would be more comfortable? If only mentally.
You gently scoop him up, cradling him in both hands. He stirs slightly, but gives no indication he’s really awake or aware of what you’re doing.
He feels slightly heavier than he did before. Or maybe your mind is playing tricks on you, and you just expect him to feel heavier after that meal.
You carry him to the rarely-used guest room, gently setting him down on one of the pillows. You pull the blanket up slightly, covering him up to his waist. Covered enough that if he gets cold at night he can find the blanket and tuck himself in more, but not so covered that he’s liable to get lost in the (to him) huge blanket.
You lean against the wall beside the bed, watching him for a moment. You can barely believe he’s even real. Part of you thinks you’ll just wake up tomorrow and realize it was all some silly dream.
But…you hope not.
“Goodnight, Doey,” you say softly, finally heading out of the room, turning off the light on your way out.
You wonder if taking him in like this, letting yourself get attached, is really a good idea. You don’t know much about who he is, and you probably know even less about what he is. You don’t know what he might want or need, or what he might do. What he could do.
Then again…he’s a six inch toy made of dough. How much trouble could he really cause?

TWIN RUNES - FAQ
What exactly is this AU about? Twin Runes is essentially a comedic crossover AU between the universes of Deltarune and Undertale. No fancy nicnacs. Just the characters being their chaotic selves. But there might be some darkness lurking up ahead... ____________________
When is the next comic? The comic updates most Sundays at 6:30 PM Central European Time. ____________________
Why is this AU called Twin Runes? The name is more or less a play on the typical naming format of most AU's by featuring the "Runes" part. There are no literal Twin Runes. The whole name is more of a stand in for Undertale and Deltarune as parallel worlds. Hence the "Twin" part. ____________________
When does Twin Runes take place? This AU takes place between a hypothetical Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 of Deltarune. On the Undertale side of things, it takes place post neutral route just as Frisk was about to deliver Undyne's letter to Alphys.
Tumblr media
How many pages are there going to be? The script for this comic estimates that the comic is going to be 137 pages long (if I don't make any major changes). ____________________
What software do you use to make your art/the comic? I use Clip Studio Paint. ____________________
Is the Player a thing in this AU? The Player(s) lost control over both human children as soon as Frisk entered the world of Deltarune. Essentially, the reader takes on the role of the Player. You have no influence on the outcome of the story anymore. All you can do is watch. Both Kris and Frisk refer to the Player as "It" and "the THING". ____________________
Is there going to be a Weird Route? Due to the lack of Player, all choices made by Kris are now their own. How to engage in battle all depends on Kris, and not the Player. Because of that, there are NO DIFFERENT ROUTES. There is only one route and that one is based on Kris' choices. Because of the lack of save points, there is no "what-if" scenario. ____________________
When Chapter 3 and 4 are released, will it affect the story? Any chapters after Chapter 3 won't affect the story in the grand scheme of things. Twin Runes created a new timeline so to speak. ____________________
How old are the characters in this story? Frisk appears to be around 9 years old. Kris thinks they're 14. (Both Frisk and Kris don't know their actual age.) Chara died when they were around 10-11. Susie is around 15-16 (she was held back once) Ralsei appears to be the same age as Kris. ____________________
What's up with Kris' and Frisk's hair? The red bits of their hair is more or less a representation of their souls. That in turn is also why Chara doesn't have that feature. They are soulless. It's a stylistic choice. ____________________
What's that thing on Kris' chest? It's a scar they got from tearing out their soul.
Tumblr media
And why do they have weird lines all over their body? Both Kris and Frisk's anatomy resemble that of ball-jointed dolls. They appear just as markings across their bodies. Think of them as elaborate birthmarks. Kris and Frisk are still made of flesh and blood, but are in fact hypermobile. The reason as to why they do is still a little secret :) People here like to refer to these markings as "puppet limbs". You can get a better look at them and the scar in this artwork
Tumblr media
Why does Kris have braces? This is why:
Are old art, comics and asks from your blog part of Twin Runes? Unless stated otherwise, all art that was made prior to the start of the comic are not canon to Twin Runes. That mainly includes the old asks. __________________
Why is Dark World Frisk green? Frisk changes their main sweater colors with Kris when they enter the Dark World.
Tumblr media
Could other ghosts see Chara? (pre Darkner transformation) No, only Frisk and Kris were able to see Chara. ____________________
IS KRIS NOW FRISK'S COUNTERPART OR CHARA'S???? :) ____________________
Where are Jevil and Spamton? Are they in Castle Town? The Fun Gang have already fought these two in the previous chapters and added them into their inventory. Outside of that little dream sequence, neither will be making an appearance. ____________________
Is anyone from Undertale Yellow gonna make an apperance? Outside of a tiny cameo from Clover (that has no greater bearing on the story) no one from Undertale Yellow is going to make an appearance. ____________________
How would the characters from Deltarune react if they met their Undertale counterpart? The universe would implode if that happens. ____________________
But what abou- The. Universe. Would. Implode. Next question! ____________________
How did you come up with the idea of Twin Runes? Twin Runes is an offshoot of a separate script I started in 2023. The concept of this script is similar to Twin Runes, but turned on its head. The funny moments in that script made me continue what now is the start of Twin Runes. I pretty much just wanted to see if I am actually capable of drawing a comic to begin with. So... in a way Twin Runes is my first attempt at a comic ever. If I ever finish Twin Runes, then I know I can tackle turning that mammoth project of a script into a comic too. In the grand scheme of things these two projects are sister series. They have A LOT in common and even share similar plot elements. When Twin Runes is over you will automatically also know certain mysteries of The Other Script. ____________________
What is The Other Script? As of this moment I call The Other Script: "Lost in the In-Between". At its core it's an inverse of Twin Runes. I.e. Kris falling into the underground and being aided by Frisk on their quest to return home. The story is considerably more grounded than Twin Runes and so are the characters. Though they do have their silly moments from time to time. The overall mood of that script is a lot darker in nature and it's a 200+ page passion project of mine. ____________________
Is there x ship in Twin Runes? The focus of this story is not on shipping. If it's in the game it will very likely be mentioned or brought up, but that's about it. ____________________
What pronouns do the human children use in this story? THEY/THEM FOR ALL OF THEM WITHOUT ANY EXCEPTIONS. That is what they are in this story. This is not open to interpretation. Please respect that. If this is a dealbreaker for you, then unfortunately this story is not for you.
___________________________________________________________
ABOUT FAN CONTENT
Am I allowed to make fanart? ABSOLUTELY! You are very welcome to make fanart if you feel like it. Please let me know if you do by tagging me, so I can share it with everyone to see so that you get the appreciation you deserve! ____________________ Can I use the funny faces you draw for memes or for stuff like memes or for profile pictures? That's what they're here for! ____________________
Am I allowed to translate the comic and post the translation to a different site? For transformative work like this, please ask me beforehand. If I have given you my permission, please link the original work with the proper credit given. ------------------------
Am I allowed to dub your comic? Just like the point above, please ask for my permission first. That is just common courtesy. -----------------------
If I have gotten your permission to create content off your comic (dubbing, translations, etc...), am I allowed to monetize it? NO. I don't make any money off this comic either, as it is purely fan content.
______________________________________________________________
ABOUT ASKS
Asks will open after a new comic has been released. I will queue the questions from Monday until Friday. Once the queue is full, asks will close. Your questions will then be answered over the course of the week.
Try not to submit multiple asks. If necessary, just keep everything in one post.
Keep in mind that I receive AL LOT of asks. There is no guarantee that every question will be answered.
Questions containing spoilers will not be answered on principle. Wouldn't be as fun if the surprise was ruined, right?
Before leaving an ask (mostly for everyone who's new), please make sure to read the FAQ section above. A lot of times your question might have been answered already.
I love memes and dumb jokes as much as the next guy, but try not to spam
It probably goes without saying, but please stay civil. I want to give everyone the respect they deserve, and naturally like to be treated the same way.
Please be mindful about drawing requests. It is understandable if you're eager to see a certain character drawn in my style, but I do not like to be bombarded by requests. The more it happens, the less likely I am to do it. Be kind and ask nicely.
I don't take unsolicited comic ideas.
Don't use other people's posts that I reblogged to ask me questions! It has happened before and I do not wish to see this!
This isn't an ask blog. The comic has a script that will not deviate. Reader interaction with the characters won't be possible due to the overall "no Player" subplot.
Please do not ask me to put your characters into the story. Like I said, the script is already finished and I'm quite happy with it. Your characters are in better hands with yourself and your own stories. Please have respect for mine.
______________________________________________________________
ABOUT SUBMISSIONS
The submission box is for FANART ONLY!
It is meant for those who do not want to submit their fanart to their own blogs, in case they feel scared or intimidated to do so.
ASKS AND REQUESTS THAT ARE SUBMITTED THIS WAY WILL NOT BE ANSWERED.
Please wait until the ask box opens. You can read more on how asks work in the section above.
______________________________________________________________
REFERENCE SHEETS
The following are ref sheets of characters that don't have established Dark World forms yet (as of writing this comic). The list will be updated as soon as a new character enters the Dark World. Here you will also find references of characters that might appear as surprise cameos, or maybe even completely new faces...

Sigh....Galemancers really love to move the goal post when it comes to the grooming accusations huh? You found out Gale was a fully grown MAN when Mystra slept with him so now you have to say, "Well then he was emotionally groomed and the power dynamic is too vast." Mystra is a neutral good goddess because she's Midnight, who was a neutral good human. She hates that her magic has to be used for good and evil. Ao makes her share it evenly but she'd rather not. She would never do anything to hurt Gale. The writers of the game even confirmed she's not a groomer. People like you also downplay the point of Gale's entire story arc, which is he should've listened to Mystra! The whole point of his personal quest is he needs to learn to humble himself and listen to his goddess! He has no one to blame for his downfall but himself.
Tumblr media
There's no "post" to move, anon. The game and lore give us all the context we need. Grooming doesn't only apply to children, and people have proven right and left that Mystra is terrible at relationships. She's petty and abusive when she isn't obeyed by her partners, and that's been the case with all of her iterations. Even the narrator describes her as a "jealous goddess" when you visit her shrine. Plus, your information is wrong on many accounts; the most pertinent being that the Mystra of BG3/5E isn't technically Midnight. Cyric and Shar killed her, reducing her to her godly essence (lore-wise that means she died). The current Mystra is an amalgamation of the vestiges of Mystryl, Mystra, and Midnight, as told in the novel Elminster Enraged.
Now, this is about to get complicated, as it always does with Mystra, so from here on out I'll be referring to Mystra #1 as Mystryl, Mystra #2 as Mystra #2, Mystra #3 as Midnight, and Mystra #4 as 5E Mystra. Alright, let's get started.
Tumblr media
Elminster had to reform the fallen goddess by giving her fragments of all three iterations of Mystra. Since all three iterations are combined, our current 5E Mystra embodies the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly. There's even a conversation with The Simbul (one of the Seven Sisters and a Chosen of Mystra) where the newly reformed 5E Mystra speaks of Elminster as her "longest lover". This puzzles The Simbul because that was something of the old Mystra (Mystra #2), not Midnight. The new 5E Mystra replies that she has become a combination of the memories of Mystryl, Mystra #2, and Midnight. This is all in chapter 25-30 of Elminster Enraged. I know it's confusing, but in short: 5E Mystra is not Midnight anymore, and the leading mind is clearly that of Mystra #2, hence her extremely poor judgement—a recurring theme with her character.
Tumblr media
Mystryl and Mystra #2 were originally lawful neutral. The alignment changed to neutral good when Midnight took up the mantle, because Midnight herself was a neutral good person. But now it seems 5E Mystra is true neutral, because you are right, anon; Ao won't allow her to do whatever she wants. Midnight tried and was forbidden. 5E Mystra absolutely does not have the same level of humanity or kindness as Midnight, and that may be because Mystryl had no human consciousness and Mystra #2 was a mess.
Tumblr media
Regardless of her alignment, she must embody her domain by Ao's decree, which means she needs to spread magic across all Realmspace. Since she has to maintain the balance, she approaches good, neutral, and evil mages with potential opportunities. This isn't a criticism (that's just how godhood works), but rather proof that Mystra is absolutely capable of good and bad. I don't want to hear any more of this "she's a precious little bean and Gale's victim" nonsense. Even if she wants to be, she's not. As Kikitakite said in their post, she's done some fucked up things.
Tumblr media
Whether or not the writers intended to make Mystra a groomer, that's exactly what they did. Sometimes writers don't realise they've written an abusive character until they're criticised. Take writer of The Notebook, Nicholas Sparks, for example. He didn't realise he'd written Noah to be an abusive piece of shit until Ryan Gosling pointed it out himself. Gosling has gone on record many times to say he hates Noah, and experts have labeled him an unrealistic and emotionally abusive/manipulative character. The same can be said for Stephenie Meyer, who wrote some of the most celebrated toxic relationships in recent media—with a dash of borderline pedophilia on the side. Therapists have weighed in extensively to tell people that Bella and Edward's relationship isn't healthy and shouldn't be emulated in real life. Indeed, perhaps the best thing to come out of the entire franchise is Robert Pattinson's hatred of Edward and the series as a whole. Jacob's actor, Taylor Lautner, even argued with Meyer's on set because of how weird the "imprinting" segment was and he didn't want to come off as predatory. Meyer argued it was "romantic". 😕
Tumblr media
Even if you don't agree Gale was groomed, Mystra is flagrantly responsible for his insecurities and she never should've put her hands on him. The power dynamic is too vast, and even god Gale (conceited as he is) realises it by the end. He only stays in a relationship with Tav if they allow him to ascend them alongside him as his equal. He recognises that anything else would be unhealthy and unacceptable. Also, I researched high and low regarding your claim, but none of the devs have dispelled the idea that Mystra is a groomer. In fact, the most I could find was one dev simply saying, "To Gale it was love, but he didn't know any better." If anything, that only confirms he was confused and didn't know what to do. Their "relationship" was a stunningly horrible idea from the start and that's not on Gale, it's on the literal cosmic being who initiated it.
Tumblr media
Moreover, Gale was very likely 17 when Mystra revealed herself to him. This perfectly fits into the 5E Forgotten Realms timeline. If so, no, he absolutely wasn't a grown man. He was a teenager. Mystra may not have slept with him until he was in his 20's, but that still makes it a disgusting teacher-turned-lover situation. Gale even tells us he was "young" when she took him into her fold, and he was only eight years old when Elminster started their lessons. Remember, Elminster is Mystra's biggest apologist. He would've taught Gale to revere her, which means there was almost never a point in his life when Mystra wasn't the main focus. You can tell by the way he speaks about her in Act 1. He's in awe, he's excited, he's proud she chose him. That does something to a child. Something irreversible. If anything, Elminster is complicit in what happened. I've said this before, but he couldn't even be bothered to visit Gale himself. He sent a simulacrum.
Tumblr media
As for your accusation that I'm "downplaying" Gale's story arc—you're damn right I am, because the writers made me! Most D&D players I know aren't very happy with how Mystra is portrayed in the game, and that's probably because even they know she isn't presented in a very flattering light. If you really think about it, it's obvious what the writers were going for, but they failed. For example, you said Gale should've listened to Mystra, right? Well, in Act 1 he admits his ambition was his undoing, blames himself for his downfall, and by Act 2 he's literally ready to off himself for her. In fact, he's the only one who sees her ultimatum as justified. Every other companion says she's being cruel and unreasonable. If Gale actually blows himself up at the end of Act 2, the results are catastrophic. The brain is destroyed, yes, but the tadpoles, free of the Absolute's control, complete their transformation and infect/enslave the entire Sword Coast. Anon. She. Is. Stupid. Even the Narrator is like, "You wanna ... you wanna try that again?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The entirety of Act 2 is Gale learning he shouldn't listen to Mystra. And then she has the audacity to lecture him in Act 3? If he'd listened, it would've been the end of everything. Maybe if Mystra was as infallible as she pretends to be, she would've put her three brains together and came up with a better, less vindictive plan. Because make no mistake, she wanted Gale to blow up in Act 2, which is ridiculous. I know this is an uncomfortable topic for some people, but gods aren't perfect, especially in fiction. They're flawed. They're selfish. Some of them are straight up assholes. The real irony of Gale's arc isn't that he has no one to blame but himself, it's that Mystra should blame herself. At no point does she even consider if she's being unreasonable or unfair. There's no self reflection whatsoever. And the writers expect me to think Gale's full of himself? I wonder where he got it.
Probably from his teacher. ✋🎤

[Lament of the Fallen]

"I have lost everything."
The relentless battle against the Honkai beasts rages on, your katana slicing through their monstrous forms with a desperate fury. Explosions erupt around you, the searing heat mixing with the blood and sweat that drips down your temples. The ground is littered with the fallen, comrades who once fought beside you now lifeless amidst the swarming beasts summoned by the Herrschers.
"My family..."
The horrifying sight of humans, transformed into mindless Honkai zombies, fills you with dread. Your grip on the handle of your Divine Key falters as you witness your little sister and brother among them, feasting on the remains of fallen soldiers. Tears blur your vision as you dash towards them, the agony of what you must do tearing at your soul. With a heart-wrenching cry, you end their suffering, beheading the only family you had left. You had promised to protect them, to create a peaceful world for them.
"My dear comrades..."
A wall of flames engulfs the encroaching monsters, giving you a momentary respite. Kalpas, your grey-haired, masked comrade, stands before you, his power saving you once more. Exhaustion is etched on his face, but he urges you to keep moving. Before you can respond, a piercing laser beam shoots through his chest, and he crumples to the ground. One by one, your friends fall, their bodies lifeless on the battlefield. The bonds forged in blood and battle, severed in an instant.
"My world..."
The battlefield is a graveyard of Honkai beasts and fallen soldiers, their bodies buried beneath layers of ash. The sky above is a mournful grey, reflecting the lifeless desolation around you. You stand alone, the sole survivor amidst the ruins. Have you won the war, or merely survived its horrors? The answer eludes you.
"And..."
In your hand, you clutch your new Divine Key, forged from the shattered remains of 70,033 blades and the essence of twelve Herrschers. You gaze up at the bleak, grey sky, the weight of your existence pressing down on you.
"I realize now..." You unsheathe your Divine Key, Nihility, unleashing your Active Honkai Reaction. Golden cracks spread from your right hand, blossoming into ethereal flowers. Your hair turns snow-white, your skin pale as ivory. Golden horns sprout from your head, and your eye color turns into gold.
"I've lost myself."
"...That the ultimate fate of this world is nothingness, and therefore, worthless... or even the whole universe?"
With a final, devastating swing of your Divine Key, you begin to unravel the very fabric of this world, reducing it to void, to nothingness. The ground beneath you crumbles, the sky shatters, and everything you fought for dissolves into oblivion. As the world collapses around you, you raise your katana high.
"Yet... I still want to stay..."
With a heavy heart, you turn the blade upon yourself, splitting your soul in half, and embracing the void.

Snowflakes drift gently from the dull, grey sky, their delicate forms hitting softly against your window. You stare blankly at the wintry landscape, your mind lost in the endless dance of the snow. Your right hand, adorned with claw-like metallic finger guards, rests against the cold glass. As you blink, the serene snowflakes transform into ashen rain, and the snowy ground becomes a graveyard, littered with swords and corpses.
Startled, you stumble back, your heart pounding in your chest. The haunting vision fades as quickly as it appeared, leaving you standing in the quiet room. A single tear escapes your eye, tracing a cold line down your cheek. You wipe it away, confusion mingling with the sorrow etched on your face.
"... A forgotten memory?" you whisper, your breath fogging the glass.
Before you can ponder the vision further, a knock on the door pulls you from your thoughts. You turn away from the window, your expression hardening. "Come in," you command, your voice firm yet distant.
The door creaks open, and a Fatui Skirmisher steps in, bowing deeply. He holds a letter in his trembling hand, his eyes fixed firmly on the floor. "Lord Innamorati," he begins, his voice wavering with fear. "A letter from Her Royal Highness."
'Her Highness?' The title feels foreign, a distant echo in your mind. You frown, trying to grasp the fleeting memory.
"Can you remind me of her name?" you ask, your tone soft yet icy, sending a shiver through the skirmisher despite his thick winter coat.
"H-Her Royal Highness Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon," he stammers, his voice barely above a whisper.
You nod slowly, the name stirring something within you. A fleeting sense of purpose, lost in the haze of your fragmented memories. "Thank you," you say, your voice carrying a trace of melancholy. "My memory... it often fails me."
The skirmisher quickly hands you the letter and exits the room, his relief palpable. You turn to your desk, the weight of the message heavy in your hand. If the Cryo Archon herself has written to you, it must be of grave importance. Did something terrible happen? Or have you forgotten another mission?
You break the seal and unfold the letter, your eyes scanning the contents. With a sigh, you crumple it and toss it into the trash. Your hand instinctively moves to the scabbard where your Divine Key, Nihility, rests.
"A funeral..., huh?" The words hang in the air, heavy with sorrow and resignation.
You move to the window once more, the snowy landscape a stark contrast to the inner turmoil you feel. The snow outside is pure and untouched, but in your mind, the vision of the dead and the desolate ground lingers. You know that each snowflake, each fleeting memory, is a piece of the past that you can never fully grasp.
In the quiet of your room, you can't shake the feeling that you're losing more than just memories. You're losing yourself, piece by piece, like the snow melting away under the weight of the ashes.

Lightning in a Bottle - Chapter 2
Summary:
Eira Archeron was neither a Valkyrie, nor a Seer, nor the High Lady of the Night Court. She was actually pretty much useless. The only thing she wanted was to be somebody's first choice for once in her life.
Also known as: Azriel's shadows decide that if he doesn't treat his mate right... they'll just do it for him.
Warnings:
Elain Bashing, Angst, Nesta threatening bodily harm, Amren being mean.
(super pretty dividers by @tsunami-of-tears)
Tumblr media
Azriel was a lot of things. A knight however was not one of those.
He was a bastard, a shadowsinger, the spymaster of the night court. He had fought in wars, tortured, killed, slaughtered, and bathed in the blood of his enemies…figuratively and literally in a sense.
But Azriel had never once been considered to be a knight.
Not until he had met a slip of a human girl who never had the acrid smell of fear clinging onto her like he had expected.
To Eira Archeron, Azriel had been a knight.
He still wasn’t quite sure what he had done to give that impression…how she had heard Spymaster as a human and then continued to call him Sir when he had returned to the human lands to make his preparation to talk to the Human Queens.
She had stopped calling him that at his request…she had been more than content to let Elain do the talking. And his attention had snapped from her, to her twin sister…flawlessly polite and beautiful.
Azriel easily admitted that between the threat of the war and the worry of the future..somehow his attention had stayed there.
And he hadn’t thought much more about the fourth Archeron Sister.
Not when the other three had demanded his attention in a myriad of ways…from Feyre as High Lady, to Nesta with the problems she had adjusting or Elain, who had suffered beautifully and pined away for her human life.
Eira…Eira hadn’t been anything to worry about, because she had done nothing.
Hadn’t done anything but tried to be no trouble for any of them. And succeeded. No need to pay attention to her, because she hadn’t done anything. Ever.
She had found herself work as a seamstress, seemed to adjust well to Velaris and her new Fae body…and that had been that.
She was a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma…and Azriel hadn’t even realised it.
He had become complacent… had started to have a fucking blind spot right in front of his face…and he hadn’t noticed.
Too busy with himself…with his own overly emotional moping, because he had felt unfairly treated… and had come away from that with a chip on his shoulder the size of the continent and the mulish expression of a teenage boy on his face…
He had admitted that too.
At last, he had realised it…at least before he had done any lasting damage, Rhys’ words rattling around his brain and seemingly dousing him in cold water.
It had been an infatuation with Elain…nothing more. Jealousy about his brothers both finding their mate in such a short period…Feeling unfairly treated...
And Azriel didn’t even have the excuse of his age for it like he had with Mor.  He had been so young when he had fallen head over heels in love with her…His centuries spent pining painfully away were a choice he had made because Mor was unattainable...
So really, these days, Azriel had no excuse that it had taken that long…
Weekly dinners had been a tradition for centuries. And they were not going to stop with them now. Especially not with Nyx there now, who enjoyed the attention of everybody doting on him…though he had one clear favourite.
Azriel entered the dining room to Nyx’s loud chanting of “Ra! Ra! Ra!” which was the universal sign that he wanted Eira to hold him and nobody else.
Feyre relinquished her son with a snort, letting Eira take him and settle him on her hip, pudgy little baby arms immediately flying around her neck.
He blinked once at Eira’s appearance…at the sight of her in a grey dress, high-necked and covering her from her wrist to her ankles, cut high at her neck. Not out of the usual for her. He had not once seen her in the traditional Night Court fashions of tops and trousers…But what did surprise him…that was her hair…
Usually, it was scraped back into a messy knot at the base of her skull…well, now it fell down to her waist in perfect ringlets…held back from her face with two gilded hair combs. Beautiful.
She took her seat and he moved to sit across from her, like he always did… like he was in a trance, somehow so taken by her that he couldn’t help himself.
Eira smiled at Nyx in her arms, bright, pearly white teeth showing. He had never seen her smile like that either.
And then her eyes met his… that smile changing from brightly happy to painfully polite…
And with one look… everything changed.
Lightning crackled along his veins. Crackled through his whole body, his hands tightening into fists as for a moment he didn’t know what happened.
It caught around his ribs like a whip, tying him to her for eternity. And Azriel could just stare at her, wide-eyed, as she went back to doting on Nyx like nothing had happened…
Everything inside him was rearranged, a place carved out inside his chest just for her…just for Eira.
For Eira with her big silver eyes, her delicate little hands…
He had always liked her…liked her soft voice, and how she had filled the silence so that he didn’t need to say anything, do anything, but hang onto her every word…liked how she had made it so easy for him to be around her…how she had seemingly always tried to be helpful, always tried to be kind…
Finally! the shadows crooned. Finally, Master! That took you long enough!
They had known.
They had known?! Since when…how…
He watched in terror how a tendril of shadows appeared over Eira’s shoulder and waited for her to flinch back…but nothing happened. Eira didn’t even seem to notice it, as she was cutting food in smaller pieces for Nyx, feeding him, his blue eyes wide, staring at his aunt in adoration. His little wings fluttered against her hold and she adjusted, seemingly without a thought…doting on Nyx.
Eira Archeron was going to be the death of him.
Azriel knew that already.
Because it already felt like she was crushing his very heart in the palm of her hands…because everything he had spent centuries begging, pleading, praying for, was right there, sitting in front of him and ignoring his very existence.
Eira.
Everything he wanted…right there, where he had last expected it.
“Az, do you want the salad now, or am I just supposed to wave it in front of your face for another five minutes?” Cassian asked him, voice dripping with sarcasm, and that finally managed to get him to function again.
“Thank you,” he managed to force out, pulled all the wayward shadows in his nearer surroundings to him with a harsh tug at their metaphorical leash and took the salad from his brother.
Salad. Dinner.
And then…cauldron boil him, he needed to…figure out what he was going to do with…
His blood was rushing in his ears and he was thankful to sit because otherwise, he would have already fainted. His heart was pounding in his chest, far too fast…worse than it had in centuries…even while fighting for his life.
“Are you alright?” Cassian asked him carefully and he just about managed a nod.  “You don’t look too good.”
He probably didn’t.
“I am fine,” he forced out.
Great even. He was…
Mate, some instincts inside him purred. Mate.
Our mate, the shadows sang, so very pleased. Ours!
He forced himself to eat. Even when every part of him ached for Eira to turn to him like she usually did during dinners…and start a conversation about something or other…Listen to her voice.
She did nothing of that sort that evening, doting on Nyx, though her soft whispers to the little boy made something inside him ache.
“So what else happened this week?” Rhys asked at that moment, clearly trying to start a conversation, something that didn’t involve Keir in Hewn City being an absolute pain.
“Eira got her teeth changed,” Elain spat out and Azriel was so taken aback by that tone of her voice that he needed a moment until the words registered…until…
Eira got her teeth changed? Why had she done that? She was already perfect. There was no reason to change anything.
He couldn’t help but stare at her, again or once more or…and he watched the blush rise high on her cheeks, see how uncomfortable she was as the attention of the table shifted to her.
“You had your teeth changed, Eira?” Rhys asked, sounding as taken aback as Azriel was feeling.
“I did,” Eira agreed, her voice quiet.
“Look at me?” Nesta requested, two seats down from him and he watched as Eira bared her teeth.
Perfect pearly white teeth. Uniform in size. No trace anymore of the two big incisors that had sat inside her mouth. They had been just a smidgen too big for her. It had been charming as far as he was concerned.  But now they were all…all perfectly even.
“It looks great,“ Nesta said. “But they were fine before as well.” A sort of understanding passed between Nesta and Eira, a look between the same grey eyes they shared that Azriel didn’t understand but wished he would
“I like it more like this,” Eira admitted, her voice quiet, going back to take care of Nyx. Nesta inclined her head.
“Then that’s all that matters.” And that was that.
As long as she was happy, Azriel couldn’t care less. If she liked this more, then she should have whatever made her happy.
“You actually agree with her? Nesta!” Elain exclaimed and Nesta stared at Elain, lips pursing for once, seemingly disagreeing with her sister.
“They are Eira’s teeth,” Nesta said with a shrug.  “As long as they are attached to her mouth, I think she can do whatever she wants with them.”
Azriel tended to agree. Her teeth. If she liked them like that…well, that was that then.
“You should have had them made into fangs. You could use them, Girl,” Amren commented drily.
Eira said nothing in response, her shoulders seemingly caving in.
His shadows bristled so sharply that he nearly flinched, hissing quietly, Our Mate. Our Mate! She doesn’t need fangs, but the tiny ancient one needs her throat ripped out!
He glared at them, but they ignored that. Instead, some of them bitched under their breath about anything Elain had to say…while some others were waxing poetically about the gleam of Eira’s hair in the candlelight.
So beautiful, they purred in his ear.  So pretty. Doesn’t her hair glow like gold like this? Like a halo…
It was decisively unhelpful. Even when they were right.
Especially because it frayed what little self-control he had. What little self-control he had that stopped him from going on his knees before her right now and begging her for…something, anything…everything.
His ruined hands curled into fists as the shadows continued with their little monologue.
Nyx seemed to be content to tuck his head against Eira’s shoulder and play with one big ringlet of that gleaming hair as he fell asleep, yawning widely.
That seemed to be all the excuse Eira needed as she stood up. “I’ll put him to sleep,” Eira offered quietly as she stood. She hadn’t said a single word that evening unless it was talking to Nyx or Nesta asking her a question. Had stayed quiet. Silent.
He missed her voice.
He couldn’t stop the shadows from rushing out to pull her chair back so that it made no noise, fighting with them for control as they insisted on clinging to her skirts. “I’ll be up early tomorrow…I thought I could take Nyx to that playground he likes,” Eira said at that moment looking at Feyre and Rhys.
“Of course,” Feyre agreed with an indulging smile. “He loves the swing there.”
Eira left and he watched her go, trying to swallow and trying and failing his shadows from following along in one big massive cloud…
“Az, what was that?” Rhys asked with some amusement but he couldn’t bring out the words. Couldn’t say anything…could just pull open his metal shields and push it at Rhys, begging him to understand.
His brother’s eyes widened in pure undiluted shock.
*By the cauldron,* he breathed in Azriel’s mind.
“Are you both alright?” Cassian demanded, the shock being obvious on Rhys’ face.
*Congratulations, brother,* Rhys said quietly in his mind, carefully. *I hope this isn’t…unwelcome?*
Unwelcome? How could this be unwelcome?
This was…This was everything he had ever wanted.
“Yes,” Rhys said, clearing his throat. “I am fine, and Az will be… alright.”
Oh, he would be. He would be more than alright. He just…needed to...He pressed a hand against his chest, feeling his heart thump against the touch.
“You sure about that?” Cassian asked drily. “You look a bit green around the gills, Az. How are you feeling?”
“Like somebody is carving up my chest,” he managed to bring out.
It was the truth. That mating bond was like a razor wire, tied around his ribcage, sharp and painful. He wasn't sure if that was even normal or if that was just him trying to get used to it, if it was, just the shock that finally he had a mating bond himself or...
“Well, that sounds healthy,” Cassian said sharply, reaching out with one broad hand to put it on Azriel’s shoulder and squeezing. Warm, solid…giving him something to concentrate on.
“Give him a moment,” Rhys said with a pointed look. “He’ll be fine once he catches his breath.”
He just needed...
She's fine, Master, the shadows assured him. Just singing the Princeling to sleep.
“You want some water?” Nesta asked, already moving to stand.
“What the fuck is going on?” Cassian demanded, his voice sharp.
He had no idea what he was supposed to say.
“The mating bond snapped for him,” Amren drawled drily. “He’s just being dramatic about it.”
Dramatic? He was being dramatic?
Azriel hadn’t thought he would get this for half a millennium!
*Careful, Az,* Rhys said into his mind. *She does not mean it like that.*
He harshly pulled at the shadows that had been striking out on their own, getting ready to make their displeasure known to Amren.
“What? To whom? You?” Cassian asked, the hand tightening nearly painfully.
“If that was the case, I would be utterly uninterested,” Amren said with a snort. “But I imagine.. it must be Eira.”
It was deathly quiet in the room after that declaration, all the eyes on him.
Elain broke the stifling silence.
“Is that a joke?” She asked, sounding utterly aghast. “Your mate is Eira?”
He couldn’t help the snarl that broke out of his throat, Cassian's grip turning from supportive to warning in an instant, the shadows poising themselves to attack.
“Careful,” Rhys said quietly. “His instincts are primed. And his control is…not what it should be right now.”
*Reign it in, Az. Nobody is going to take her from you,* Rhys warned him.
“We are all just…surprised!” Mor hurried to add, exchanging a look with Feyre next to her, who was paling rapidly. “Congrats! She has been having a crush on you for years!”
What?
“Oh gods,” Feyre murmured under her breath.“I…I may have really messed up,” she admitted with a grimace.
Not exactly what Azriel wanted to hear.
A glance was exchanged between Rhys and Feyre.
“You told her to get over her crush?” Rhys said surprised, blinking once. Feyre just nodded. “When?”
“2 days ago? After she got her teeth changed…I thought she only did it for Azriel,” Feyre admitted quietly.
“Why would you do that, Feyre?!” Nesta demanded sharply.
“Were you trying to protect Azriel’s virtue?” Cassian asked with a snort, trying to find some levity in that situation even when Azriel was starting to get furious.  “Don’t worry, there is nothing left for you to protect.”
“I didn’t want there to be any problems. And she was annoying you at every dinner,” Feyre tried to explain. His eyebrows rose nearly to his hairline.
“Annoying me?” He repeated, unable to believe what he was hearing. “She wasn’t annoying me!”
“Making you uncomfortable then,” Elain amended quickly. “She talked to you constantly.”
Yes. And it had never bothered him one bit.
He would rather just listen to her talk, to one person talking, than to take part in the loud and raucous conversations that could go on for hours.
If anything…he had welcomed it as a respite. In Eira’s little world, there weren’t really any…there were no bloodyproblems to take care of,  no weapons…she talked about embroidery and fabrics and books she had been reading…her world was so soft.
“If that bothered me, I would have said something,” he bit out. He didn’t need Feyre to protect his virtue. Or Elain. Or anybody else.
“I thought you would be too polite for that,” Feyre admitted with a grimace. Before he could respond, Elain beat him to it.
“Does it even matter?” She asked, crossing her arms as she stood. “It’s Eira. It’s not like you’ll actually want her,” she said with a roll of her eyes. “I’ll be upstairs.”
It was pure shock that kept him rooted to his chair. Pure shock that stopped him from lunging across the table, at Elain’s throat because how dare she?!
The shadows hissed, spitting mad, whirling around him, a mess of voices, bombarding him with suggestions of what he should do about this, about that kind of disrespect to his mate.
Want her? He didn't just want her, he needed her!
To his surprise, it was Nesta, Nesta of all people who slammed her hands onto the table, who stared him down with sparkling grey eyes, steel in them.
It wasn't Nesta who stared him down. It was Lady Death herself.  “You lay one finger on Eira where she doesn’t want it and I’ll hack off your fucking hands!” She snapped at Azriel.
He swallowed. He could only incline his head in response.
“We’ll deal with all of this tomorrow,” Rhys pointedly, with a sigh, making an executive decision. “After our visit to the Hewn City.”
*Can I trust you not to tell her for one night?* he asked Azriel mentally. *Let Feyre talk to her first and apologise?*
 *Tommorow,* he agreed. He didn’t want to tell her now…not when she was tired and wanting to sleep. Tomorrow.
Still, without a conscious thought he sent the shadows to check on her…finding her up in her room, getting ready for bed.
Safe. Content.

Salutations to all of you, gentlepeople!
I love making lists, so I'm gonna update my Radioapple fic recs. All of these feature great aspec representation (non-sex repulsed Alastor for the nsfw ones), great writing, great characterization and amazing storytelling. I've fallen down a rabbit hole called Hellaverse and Radioapple and I can't get out, so I'm hoping to bring all of you with me.
I'd love to read more good fanfics, so feel free to recommend your favs in the comments, please!
Lucid dreams of New Orleans by @radiaurapple . Heartbreaking, fluffy, beautiful, and amazing setting, writting and characterization. It might be becoming my favourite. Human AU (kinda), and deserving of so much love.
Of Saints and Sinners by @morningstarwrites . No list in the Radioapple fandom is complete without this. I don't think I need to write why it's great, everyone knows. The fun, the fluff, the lightheartedness, and fantastic writing skills.
Strange Apetites by GotllPhi. Human Alastor AU, gorey, sexy (nsfw), surprisingly fluffy and intense. The characterizations are on point and the storytelling is *cheff's kiss*. It's on hiatus while the author is getting married, but still a must read.
Lucifer and his Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Relationship series by @keelywolfe . Another nsfw one (much more so), but amazingly done and with great aspec representation. Beautifully written, intense and the story is just hooking. Also, the RadioApple Standalones are a very fun read, the sfw and the nsfw alike.
I shine only with the light you gave me by @soot-and-salt . This one is just a one-shot, but it shot through my heart. Gorgeous short story, great rythm and development, I fell in love. They have a series called We should've been enemies which is also fantastic (and nsfw), very sexy and intriguing, and still developing!
Lolm by @radioapple-heathen . It's only one chapter so far (and marked Explicit for the future of the fic), but it got to me. Fun shenanigans, a pet snake and a shared hatred for technology. It's very well characterized and nicely written.
Eat your Heart out by @seducipher . Modern human AU, nsfw and very addictive. It's still going, but it was a fic a binged in one night. Good characterization and nicely written.
Bedtime Rituals to try out before the next Angelic War by @miribalis . A very cute, fluffy and domestic fanfic that I can't recommend enough. Very well written with amazing characterization, and it's completed!
@notherpuppet 's Human AU series. Another fandom classic, but, again, no list is complete without it. In love with their artstyle, their story and their characterizations. Fluff, fun and shenanigans galore!
I still have too many saved for later that I'm thisting to read, so this list might expand in the future.
Also, if you'll allow me, this is for the spanish speakers: I wrote a short fic (2 chapters), Primavera en Nueva Orleans, that takes place during Alastor's last year alive and after Extermination Day. I'm selfpromoting here, but check it out 👀
Thanks for reading, don't forget to like and comment on your favourite creators' works 📻🍎
Stay tuned!

I want to ask... pleasee... when do you think obm charas fell for mc? And how they realize about that kind of feeling. And i actually curious about seraph other than michael and raphael (relationship with lucy) thankyouuuuuu ✌(‘ω’)✌
When Did They Fall in Love?
Mammon fell almost right away. He already was leaving a toothbrush in MC’s room by chapter 4 so I’d say a little before then probably in chapter 3
Leviathan was very flustered around MC after agreeing to a pact and becoming closer friends. I believe this is around the time he started really falling for MC and seeing them as more than a friend. This is in chapter 4
I believe Beelzebub fell for MC after they saved his life. They were already becoming friends but after that Beel was pretty devoted to MC. This happens in chapter 6
Asmodeus became enamored with MC after experiencing their power. This is when he started looking at MC as more than just a human and housemate. The more he learned about MC the more devoted he became. This starts in chapter 8
I believe Satan fell for MC around the time they formed a pact. He had great respect for them and was a bit flustered about the situation. This happens in chapter 12
I believe Lucifer’s interest begins in chapter 12 but dissolves upon MC’s betrayal. However when the dust settles his feelings have returned by chapter 17
Belphegor immediately took an interest in MC in chapter 16 upon learning their heritage. However I believed he felt romantic interest in chapter 17 onwards when MC helped him repair his bond with his brothers and he saw how kind they were.
Solomon is hard to say. He doesn’t get a lot of time in season one and in season two he is mostly trying to figure them out. However in season two he is willing to kill Lucifer and destabilize the Devildom over letting MC die. To I’d say within season 2
Simeon also became more attached to MC in season 2 and was confessing and blushing by season 3. But I predict it was towards the end of season 2
Diavolo fell for MC probably towards the end of season 1. But during the chaos of season 2 and not knowing if MC would live or die he held his tongue. He tried confessing later in season 2 but was interrupted.
Barbatos was pretty confused about everyone’s attachment to MC. In season 3 MC kisses him and he is surprised to feel a warmth from it. But he officially falls for MC at the end of season 4. Barbatos takes a while because he’s been all throughout time and is very strict in his duties, so love didn’t cross his mind until he felt it for MC.
Thirteen is pretty attached to MC in Nightbringer almost immediately. But she begins calling herself an MC Stan before the end of NB season 1 and ropes Mephistopheles into it.
Mephistopheles hasn’t shown much romantic interest in MC in Nightbringer yet but as teased by Thirteen he believes MC looks good but just never says what he means. I believe he develops interest in season 2 but I don’t believe he’s fallen just yet.
Raphael has almost no time in Nightbringer and hasn’t had a chance to bond with MC. In the OG game he did get pretty close to MC as they helped him accept the reality Lucifer and his brothers wouldn’t return to the Celestial Realm. He’s also the first of the new three to get closer to them in OG. But I don’t believe he’s fallen for them yet, though interest is there.
Michael hasn’t fallen for MC but we know he cares about them and has been protecting them though he claims it’s for the brothers’ sake. He feels MC is trustworthy enough to rant to about his issues so he must care at least a little.
Other Seraphs and Lucifer
I believe it was in a daily chat, but Simeon has texted Lucifer that the other angels have been asking about him, especially Uriel. So we know that some of them still care about him or are at the very least curious—Not just the seraphim but all of the angels.

What is Love? (Mr. Gap x GN!Reader) Part 2
Read Part 1 Here
CW: Mild gore/injury, a bit of violence but nothing extreme
Word count: 2536
Since people enjoyed it and I had some ideas, I decided to continue this! We meet someone new in this chapter. Keep in mind it's not gonna turn into a love triangle, tho. The new character serves a different purpose. Enjoy and lemme know what you think!
Another book falls shut with a loud thump next to the armchair that's held you for the past two days. A large stack rests beside it. You've been leafing through many of them lately, especially romance books. Not all of them fit your taste, some you would even call boring. Reading wasn't a hobby of yours when you were in the human world, but here, you've found this more enjoyable than walking around with no real purpose. Even the boring ones become less boring eventually. It’s nice to pretend you are a character in a story, with a different life, one that has purpose. Unlike your current reality.
Until you run out of books. Then you have to go out searching for more. This is one of those times. You've read everything from your last find. It was mostly magazines and newspapers, save for one or two novels, some of them half shredded. But their job is done now.
Crowbar in hand and hood drawn over your head, you detach yourself from the armchair and set out on your little mission. Your previous haul is left behind. There is no point in trying to keep any of the things you've finished reading. They'd only slow you down in this ever shifting maze.
The hallways are as creepy and hard to navigate as usual. A locked door here, imminent danger there, some horrific friendly residents and other equally horrific non friendly residents. The usual.
While you're peering inside a vent in an attempt to see if you can use it to get past a wall, Mr. Gap pays you a visit.
“Hello,” he greets you.
“Hello. Can take other room?” You point at the wall.
“Can take.”
“Danger there?”
“No danger. Lots of object.”
That's exactly what you were hoping to hear.
“You take me?”
“Take, take.”
He grabs your arm. Your vision goes black for a moment, as it always does when Mr. Gap moves you from one place to another. Everything goes quiet and you briefly feel a chill envelop you. Then you're in a new place, the room he promised to take you to.
“Thank you.”
Lately, he's been doing a mix of asking for body parts and doing things without wanting anything in return. Whether he’s trying to be nicer or he plans on asking for something later, is unknown to you. The occasionally friendly company is still appreciated.
You turn to the piles of random objects fallen from the human world. A far larger pile than usual. With a little bit of luck, it won’t all be full of worthless junk. You get to sorting through them before an earthquake can do it all in.
“What you search?” Mr. Gap's face peeks out from beneath a toppled over armchair.
“Lots of paper.”
Old dirty clothes, a couple abandoned toys, a lamp, a bike wheel, they all get thrown around in your search. You let out a triumphant “Yes!” when you stumble upon a copy of Frankenstein. It's not romance, but it'll keep you busy nonetheless. You shove it beneath your underarm before resuming the search.
“You like paper? Me like paper,” Mr. Gap comments as he reappears in another nook between two wooden planks.
“Okay,” you say dismissively. Normally, you'd humor him, but this world is unpredictable and you want fuel for your newly acquired pastime before it decide to bury everything beneath a pile of rubble.
You turn over a seat pillow and his face suddenly pops up in the space beneath. He holds out a magazine.
“Oh, thank-”
“Me want your finger.”
This slimy gremlin. You flash him your middle finger, only for a moment, before he can misunderstand and rip it off. The gesture confuses him, but the following grumbles must mean it didn't fly over his head entirely.
“Stop take my paper. Me not give,” you warn that you won't exchange any body parts for magazines he finds before you do.
But he knows this by now. It must simply delight him to see the furrow in your brow and hear you huff in irritation. You return to your task, refusing to grant him anymore satisfaction.
One pile of random objects later, he pops up again, this time with another book. This one is small, made of thick cardboard. The brightly colored cover suggests that it's for children.
“Me give, you teach me,” he says this time.
“Teach what?” He better not be about to ask you to sing itsy bitsy spider.
Mr. Gap opens up the book on a page where a cartoon little boy is offering a flower to a little girl. “What this?”
Where did he find that? Has he been trying to learn more about love? Is that why he's curious about such a gesture? The idea makes you find him kind of cute if it's true. Have you both just been reading romance related material, fumbling like idiots to figure out how it works?
As for explaining it, first, you point at the flower and say the word for it in English, since you're not sure there's a term for it here.
“This flower. Human give flower to person they like. Flower nice, pretty.”
Mr. Gap attempts to speak the new word. “Flower?” He stares at the illustration for another moment, then smiles creepily, the way he always does. “Thank you.”
In exchange, he gives you the magazine he'd tempted you with earlier. It’s a paranormal one. Knowing him, he’s already read through it. Read… Can Mr. Gap read? He doesn’t understand your language when you speak it, but he seems particularly fond of magazines. Is it all for the pictures? Maybe you’ll ask him next time.
You tuck the magazine next to the book and continue through the pile.
Once your left arm is satisfyingly full, you leave the room, now in search of a safe place to sit and read.
The sound of footsteps suddenly approaching nails you to the spot for a moment. Your hand instinctively grips the crowbar tighter, preparing for the worst. Whatever is coming, it better not force you to drop your books and flee. Because then you will be pissed. And you tend to lose control when you are pissed.
Fortunately, what walks in does not prove to be threatening. In fact, it's not even a resident. A young man with messy red hair cautiously steps in, then immediately freezes when he spots you. The sight of him nearly knocks all the air out of you. There is another human in the Other World. A living, breathing human, something you thought you'd never see again.
You are aware of how frightening you look. The bloodied raincoat, the silver hair, the bandages on your face and your blotchy, dark reddish skin. You often turn away quickly when faced with smooth metal, glass and, god forbid, mirrors. It's hard to believe the image you see is you. So his fear of you comes as no surprise. It serves as a grim reminder of what you've become.
“Hello.” When you speak, you use your native language.
“You speak English?!” the young man sounds startled and relieved at the same time.
“Yes… What are you doing here?”
Speaking complex sentences feels far better than you expected. It brings you a type of joy and nostalgia that startles you. Had you been missing it that much?
“I… I don't remember how I got here. Or what I was doing before. I'm just looking for the exit. Can you help me?”
This sounds painfully familiar. You remember when that used to be you. When you still had hope. And that memory tugs at something in your chest and urges you to make sure this man finds that exit. Before it's too late.
“I can help. What's your name?”
Such a human question to ask. The idea of using someone's proper name also makes you happy. When exactly have you become the type of person excited about complex sentences and names?
“I'm Robin. And you?”
You give him your name and he nods uneasily. Perhaps he hasn't been here long enough to be unphased by residents. That's good. It means there's still time.
“Mr. Gap?” you call out as you turn to the nearest crevice you can find. He appears as he always does. “Can take person exit?”
He glances at the human behind you, who is now observing warily. Then he shoots you that annoying grin of his. “Me want your heart.”
“Uh! Not give heart! Lead exit!”
“Not give? Goodbye.” And then he disappears.
You feel a strong urge to smack that grin right off his face. But he's gone and it seems like it's up to you to help this man find his way out.
“What did you talk about?” the man in question asks.
“I thought he'd help, but I overestimated his kindness… Come on, we need to find an elevator. It will take you out of here.”
“Alright… Um, thank you!”
His thanks is met with a dismissive little wave from you. Begrudgingly, the books have to be left here. The chances of finding them again are very slim, but you'll be less efficient with one arm entirely full.
The two of you set out to search for the exit.
The first rooms you pass through are an empty blessing. Robin isn't very talkative. Despite his wide shoulders and tall build, he appears quite timid and frightened. Every time you enter a new room, he first pokes his head in cautiously, then he dares to advance once he knows the coast is clear.
Is this how you used to be? Frightfully wandering the Other World, aided by Mr. Crawling, scared of your own shadow? It's a stark contrast to the apathetic stride you've developed since your return.
“How long have you been down here?” Robin asks after a prolonged silence.
“A while. It's hard to keep track of time here.”
“Is there… no way to turn you back?”
“I had a friend who was searching for a cure. But we got separated…”
You don't want to think about Mr. Silvair or the rest right now. You'd rather just focus on the task of finding the elevator.
“Is your friend like the guy in the hole?”
“Uh, no! That guy is an annoying little jerk who only does as he pleases.” Your face twists in annoyance just thinking about Mr. Gap. He could've effortlessly helped out, but he chose to be a pain instead.
“Oh, sorry.”
The hallway ends with two identical doors. Doors. They're so annoying in this world. Immediate death, sudden threat or a boring room could be waiting behind one and usually there's no way to tell them apart unless you open it.
“Stay back,” you instruct the human as you cautiously turn the doorknob.
Through the crack you've opened, you see a large, mostly empty room apart from a shelf with various toys on it. There are no signs of enemies for now.
“Okay, we can go.”
You step inside, you first and Robin cowering behind you. Everything seems fine as you head towards the doorless exit on the other side of the room. Until the door suddenly shuts and locks behind you.
“Who did that?!” Robin exclaims, startled.
You clutch your crowbar tighter, eyes darting around the room. One of the stuffed animals on the shelf suddenly lunges at you. However, you've spent long enough down here to parry such an attack easily. Swiftly, you swing your crowbar and knock it against the wall. Something shatters inside it. It stops moving.
But you have no time to relax. Robin lets out a startled scream. When you turn his way, several other toys are trying to climb him. One of them has sharp teeth and is biting into his arm.
“Get off him, you pests!” you yell out as you knock them off one by one, always followed by that shattering sound.
When he's freed, Robin quickly backs into a corner, cradling his bleeding arm. He's hurt. That's not good. He hasn't begun to transform at all. So his healing is that of a normal person.
“How deep is it? Let me see.”
“What were those things?! They- they bit me!” He’s panicking.
“Robin, you have to calm down and let me see your injury. It's gonna be okay. I'll get you out. But I need to see your arm first.” You try to be gentle. At least that's not something you've forgotten how to do yet.
He stares with wide eyes full of terror at first. But with each new reassurance, his breathing slowly relaxes and his trembling seizes. He offers you the arm. Gently, you roll up the torn sleeve of his shirt. Nine deep little cuts in a semicircle ooze blood on his forearm. It's not fatal, but leaving it untreated would be unwise.
You quickly glance around the room until you spot the dark void beneath the bottom of the shelf. You hurry to it at once.
“Mr. Gap! We need medicine! Person hurt. Blood,” you announce in the other language.
Mr. Gap does appear. He throws one look Robin's way, then grins at you. “Medicine? Can bring. Me want their finger.”
“Oh, for the love of- Give you my finger!” you try to bargain, not in the mood to explain that giving him a human's finger would defeat the purpose of asking for medicine.
Mr. Gap looks almost offended. Perhaps because you usually never say yes to his demands when he asks for your body parts. “Why?”
“Need medicine! Hurt! If outsider give finger, lots of hurt!” you explain, exasperated.
His face twists in displeasure. When he looks at Robin again, his eyes narrow, like he suddenly can't stand him. “Me not want your finger. Me want their finger.”
“Uh! You slimy little sewer rat!” you insult him, fully aware he hasn't a clue what you're saying, but probably able to tell from your tone it isn't nice. Then you turn away indignantly.
“Did your friend not want to help?” Robin asks timidly when you return to him.
“He thinks everything needs to be a transaction. It's fine, we'll manage without him.”
You lift up a part of your raincoat and rip off a piece of the white garment beneath it. Robin holds out his arm once again and allows you to bandage it.
“Why are you going to such lengths to help me?” he murmurs.
Why? You ask yourself that in turn. Perhaps because you didn't make it out. Perhaps you don't want another person to step outside and feel like a shark in the middle of a city, scary yet powerless and out of place.
“I just want somebody else to make it home after I couldn't.”
“I'm sorry…”
“It's fine. I don't need you to pity me. Just try to stay alive. Come on, let's go.”
You tilt your head towards the doorless opening. Begrudgingly, Robin pushes himself away from the corner and follows you out.
You both fail to notice the small roll of bandages that rolls out from beneath the shelf just as you pass it.

It took Yelena quite a long time to realize the gravity of the situation she was in. During this time, she managed to search the entire room. For what purpose? She was simply curious and needed something to keep her occupied so she wouldn't go crazy. After a thorough check of the drawers and cabinets, she discovered that the entire closet was empty, not counting a couple of oversize nightgowns that reached her ankles. Apparently, someone else had to bring her clothes or the Emperor didn't plan for her to stay more than a day. Bedchamber had an attached bathroom kept in colors of white and gold. In addition to beautifully scented body oils and soaps, to her surprise she found several packets of tampons and sanitary pads, and even a hair dryer. The place was better equipped than her own flat, or perhaps even her family home.
Despite all these luxuries, she eventually gave up the nagging need to bathe in the beautiful marble bathtub. As she bustled around the room, she heard at least twice that someone much larger than a human being was walking next to her door. They weren't custodians, as the footsteps were more relaxed, so that meant the news had spread and the primarchs staying at the Imperial Palace had located her bedroom. She knew these idiots too well not to suspect that eventually one of them would break the Emperor's order (which she suspected had fallen, since none dared to open the door yet). And honestly? She preferred not to be surprised by them in the bath. That's why she simply pulled off the robes she was wearing and put on a snow-white nightgown, wrapping her exhausted body in the most pleasant fabric she had ever touched, and then sunk under the quilts and blankets. Despite the fact that the bed was probably made for primarch sizes and lying on it was like sleeping on a huge cloud, slumber refused to come. There were too many thoughts running through her head, and her mind was unable to calm down. Outside, dusk had managed to fall, flooding the spacious room in darkness. Unable to endure her boredom, Yelena crawled out of bed and began to do the only thing she could think of - going through the chamber's furnishings again. She reached the desk, which had all the items needed by both a planetary steward and an artist. The second one interested her much more and soon became the cause of her small nervous breakdown.
From a drawer she pulled out something resembling a scalpel, which she quickly identified as a more old-fashioned pencil sharpener. The handle was made of carved and gilded wood, and the blade, well, she became aware of its sharpness by accident. Maybe it was a matter of fatigue, or maybe inattention, but the precious object slipped from her hand. Yelena instinctively caught it, accidentally grabbing the sharp edge with her hand. Under the pressure, her skin cracked, and a scarlet stream ran down her hand, slowly dripping onto the floor. She cursed in pain, abruptly letting go of the object and grabbed her wrist, turning it to see the wound. It was deep, the blade had bitten into her skin, leaving a gap from which blood flowed continuously. A metallic smell filled her nostrils, and her nerve endings burned from the throbbing pain.
Yelena stared dully at her hand, feeling it finally, coming to her, the realization of the situation she was in. Many people in all sorts of fandoms would give their and their entire bloodline's souls to move to a beloved universe. However, Warhammer 40k? Any fan asked would only laugh and say that they wouldn't want to be in that galaxy for any price. And she was at the fucking center of it. Surrounded by a bunch of idiots, who any moment now will decide it's high time to enter the delayed phase of rebellion against their parents and become puppets of the chaos gods. Even if the Emperor keeps her all the time in the Imperial Palace, in a few years, or maybe months, the streets of Terra will be flowing with blood. What an irony, she ends up here after a failed suicide attempt and is suddenly panicky about death. Although no, it wasn't death she was afraid of. She was afraid of confronting people she twistedly considered comfort characters, knowing what fate awaited them.
Her heartbeat accelerated rapidly, blood hummed in her ears, and breathing became impossibly difficult. Yelena forgot about the pain and her hands went to her shirt, staining the snowy white with scarlet as she tugged at the cloth as if trying to scratch a hole in her chest. Suddenly, the chamber became impossibly small and suffocating, tightening around her neck in the iron grip of an invisible fist. She had to get out, anywhere. As far away from here as possible. She didn't even think about what she was doing when she reached the door, pressing the handle in panic. Her bare feet hit the wooden floor as she ran through the halls like a wild animal. Soon her vision was blurred by the tears that began to run down her cheeks. She had no idea by what miracle, but after a few minutes of running, she reached the huge glass doors leading to the garden. None of the custodians patrolling the corridors stopped her, none even turned their heads to check what she was doing. Her wounded hand pushed the last obstacle forward, triggering another wave of sensory-dulling pain, and then she ran outside. The cold air helped her sober up enough to be able to pick a spot that looked best for hiding. She chose a huge tree that, with its branches, surpassed the other plants in the garden. With her last strength, she got there, dropping to her knees as soon as her hands touched the rough trunk.
Yelena leaned her back against the trunk and closed her eyes. Her nightgown was already all dirty from blood, soil and grass anyway, so a little bit of bark wouldn't make too much difference. Well, that was the last thing she was concerned about at the moment. I don't think she had ever had such an intense panic attack before. She couldn't catch her breath, and only broken sobs came out of her mouth. Tears streamed down her face, mixing with dirt and scarlet.
People have something like a sixth sense that tells them when someone is watching them. It's an uncomfortable feeling that causes goosebumps. As the first wave of panic eased, allowing her to think relatively soberly, despite the fact that she was choking on her own tears, Yelena felt just that. Someone was staring at her, and it was far too close. She squinted, trying to adjust her eyes to the prevailing darkness, and then she saw the outline of a silhouette in the place she had come from. It was definitely a primarch judging by the size. How did someone so large manage to sneak up on her without her hearing him. Surely it wasn't Corax, because she wouldn't have seen him in that darkness, so it must have been….
Oh fuck. FUCK FUCK FUCK. Not him. Everyone but him. Yelena wasn't ready for that. Not now, not when she didn't have a well thought out plan. Her heart squeezed even tighter, radiating pain into her chest. It wasn't that she hated him. Oh no, quite the opposite. Night Haunter was one of her favorite primarchs.
But meeting him was not one of her biggest dreams.
“Cut the bullshit Konrad. I know who you are and that you're standing there.” Yelena yelled into the dark space, pressing a healthy hand to her chest. Although she tried to sound threatening, her voice was breaking down.
Only a momentary silence answered her. Suddenly she felt a large cold hand sliding over her shoulder and his breath moving her ginger curls. Well, yes, personal space did not exist for any of these assholes.
“I think I should get that dirty tongue out first,” his voice resounded next to her ear. It was snarling, making shivers of terror run down her spine. “Then I think I'll see if the people in your world look the same after skinning as those in mine.”
Maybe Yelena would have been horrified by what she had just heard, but honestly? The panic attack had one advantage - she wasn't thinking soberly.
“Custodian is standing right next to that terrace door. How much skin do you think you'll peel off me before he gets here after hearing my screams?” Her eyes slowly became accustomed to the darkness, allowing her to see Curze's silhouette crouching beside her. Although her voice was breaking and her words were punctuated by a sound as if she were choking, mixed with sobs, she managed to convey what she wanted.
“Clever girl. Very clever.” his voice softened slightly. She wasn't sure if he was mocking again, but it looked like he wasn't really planning to hurt her. Or he had given up on that after her words. “Father said you have a great deal of knowledge about the past and future of this rotten galaxy. However, he forbade us to talk to you.”
Yelena answered him nothing to this. Her body shook and her heart pounded in her chest. However, it was not fear of Curz. Rather, what was funniest and most absurd about the situation was that the man was bringing her comfort. Her brain was still programmed to recognize him as someone close to her, as she thought of him when she recognized him as a fictional character. But now feeling his breath on her shoulder, knowing what he had done in the canonical books, she felt like she was getting a system crash.
Meanwhile, Konrad didn't seem to mind the awkward silence. Without a word he stared at her for a good minute, as if searching for something.
“I don't see your future,” he finally mumbled snootily, tilting his head slightly (or at least that's how it seemed to Yelena). “You're not a soulless blank, that's for sure. So who are you?”
Yelena opened her mouth, trying to get any words out, but all that came out of her lips was a sob. She moved her hand over her sternum, trying to control the oppressive, throbbing pain she felt there, which, combined with the burning wound on the inside of her hand, made for an extremely frustrating combination.
“So you know who I am. Good.”
“Bloody hell, I'm not terrified because of you.” The answer was quick and sharp, almost like a growl. “I'm having a panic attack.”
“Watch your tone, wrench.” Curze's voice took on a hissing tone. “If I don't scare you, I think you'll be able to tell me about your knowledge. Or I'll listen to it in between your screams.”
Well, what an idiot. He wouldn't get shit from her, because there's a custodian standing next to the terrace door, who would probably quickly separate them. However, instead of a sarcastic comment, only another sob came out of her mouth. With a trembling hand, she wiped the tears from her cheek, trying to gather herself to answer him anything.
“In my current state, I am unable to even think.” she whispered. “Let me at least calm down.”
“I don't have time for that. If I were you, I'd hurry up.”
Well, now she had a problem. Rushing someone with a panic attack only made things worse. It reminded her of when she first had a panic attack as a child and her mother, in an attempt to “calm her down,” slapped her several times in the face to shake her off. Now, however, she had to think fast. What could she do to get back to a state where she could at least think about what she was going to say while under pressure… wait a second. PRESSURE.
“Do you want to speed it up? Press one hand against my sternum and the other between my shoulder blades.”
Silence again.
“What?”
Yelena did not answer him. She blindly moved her hand forward, encountering something that resembled a cloak of feathers. She quickly found his hand and moved her fingers over it until she felt his wrist underneath them, which she grabbed, then with a jerk she brought it closer to her side. Taking advantage of the fact that Konrad was shocked by her impudence, she spread his fingers slightly and pressed her cold hand against the space under her breasts. She expected that when the initial surprise finally passed, the man would jerk his hand away and strike her, so she tried to focus as much as possible on the feeling while she still had the opportunity. However, to her own shock, she felt a second equally cold hand move across her back, pressing on the spot between her shoulder blades. Yelena let out a stifled sob, and her body shivered as if in a fever.
She had no idea how long they sat in that position. Neither she nor Curze wanted to break the silence that now fell between them, disturbed only by the quiet sounds of distress from her mouth. But soon the panic began to give way to a feeling of exhaustion and resignation. Yelena groaned quietly and leaned her head back, resting her head against the tree trunk. She was panting, mentally and physically exhausted. She had never had such an intense episode before. Her gaze went lower, looking at Konrad's hand with eyes full of tears. This was probably the first time in six months that she had had any physical contact with another human being. It seemed that her body was yearning for this feeling and found peace much faster, getting the raging hormones under control. The man also noticed the change in her condition, probably feeling how her heart, which until now was pounding as if it was about to explode, finally returned to its normal pace.
“You are the craziest person I've ever met. No normal person seeks my touch.” Konrad's voice was much quieter, resembling more of a rasp. Slowly, as if unsure of his own movements, he took his hands away from her body. Yelena heard a rustling, and judging by the sound and the placement of the silhouette's outline in the darkness, Konrad sat down next to her on the grass.
Yelena only quietly laughed. But what an absurd thing to say. She had just talked to herself with Night Haunter himself. Along with a clear mind came any ability to think logically. He and Sanguinius were her favorite primarchs. It was as if she had met her favorite celebrity! Well… only in this case, this celebrity could decide at any moment that he wanted to skin her. The situation was a good one in that, judging by the smell, or more specifically, the lack of the stench of rotting flesh and death, Konrad had not yet been driven so far into madness that he could not be saved. Some upside to the whole situation.
“Because, unlike others, I know you a bit,”
“I've heard. My father mentioned that your world sees us as fictional characters on the pages of books. Tell me, was I right all along? Did my visions tell the truth?”
Yelena was silent for a second. Well, now she just had a problem. It took her a good while to gather the right words.
“No. But also yes. Your visions, they didn't have to be true, but you following them made them true.”
“But-”
“There is no but Konrad. I'm not sure if Sanguinius has already tried to explain it to you or not yet. You don't want to listen to anyone on this, so why don't you listen to someone who has read the books from your perspective and had insight into your mind. The future can be changed… although I have a feeling you know that. You're just taking the easier route.”
There was a swish and a bang as the hand that had earlier brought her solace hurled itself with all its force into the tree trunk just above her head.
“Careful. You have no idea what you're talking about.” This time Curze's voice took on a much more menacing tone. Yelena didn't need to see his face to know how enraged he was by her words.
“When you saw Emperor, you had a vision that made you want to claw your eyes out. You are unable to trust your other primarchs because you have a vision of the Horus Heresy and the consequences of it. Brother against brother, billions if not trillions killed, the Imperium in ruins. Oh maybe how lonely and disappointed you feel by your own family.”
“How-”
“I told you. Your father told you. In my world, your fate and that of this world are written on the pages of novels, going all the to the fortieth millennium. I had an insight into your head because some stories were written from your perspective.”
Konrad did not answer for a while. Yelena only heard rustling as he took his hand from the trunk. There is some success, at least for now he does not plan to murder her. However, seeing that Curze didn't flinch to answer, she decided to continue.
“I know you have a vision of an assassin cutting off your head. I know you think that this act will prove to everyone that you are not the worst man in the galaxy at all. Because you are not the worst man in the galaxy. You have done terrible things, that's true. And here there is no dispute. You think there is no salvation for you, but that is not true. There is light in each of the primarchs, because you were created that way. There is a possibility of redemption for you.”
If she manages to fix Konrad and return to her world, she will have to apply for a license to run a psychological practice. Because that will probably make her the most talented therapist on the whole fucking Earth.
“When you killed a boy who tried to hurt a girl from an upper social caste, you saw that there was the possibility of a different future. That your path you took is not the only one. Tell me, why should I lie at this point? The Emperor told me to list the names of the primarchs who would betray him and how they would do it. I refused to tell him because I know there is a chance of redemption for you. I know that events don't have to turn out the way they are written in the books.”
“So everything I did… everything I did was pointless?”
“You were doing what you were meant to do, Konrad. You didn't have a family to teach you love, you didn't know any other touch than that which causes pain.” Yelena felt tears come to her eyes again. However, this time it was not fear, but compassion. Grief directed toward a child who had not known maternal warmth, who had to fight to survive, a child who had been destroyed by monstrous visions since the beginning of her existence. “I'm not saying you're not to blame, because you chose the easiest path, even if it was strewn with suffering. But it's not just your fault. Your decision, however, how you shape your future.”
Again, no answer. She heard his breathing speed up a bit and his fingers hit something rhythmically. Yelena wondered if she had just accidentally triggered a nervous breakdown in him. There was an option that he now had a vision of the future in which he listened to her words. After a few minutes of awkward silence, she heard rustling again and saw the outline of a silhouette rise from the ground. Well, yes, he can't kill her, so he will simply remove himself from the situation. Yelena only shook her head over her own stupidity when she heard footsteps slowly moving away. Well yes, what was she thinking, why would a grown man listen to a 20-year-old gir-
“What did you think of me when I was just a character on the pages of those books of yours?”
“Excuse me?”
There was the sound of footsteps again as Konrad decided to return to her after all. He stopped right next to a tree and judging by the sound, he was leaning against it.
“You must have hated me. Night Haunter, the demon from Nostramo.”
“Actually, quite the opposite. I liked you a lot. Don't tell your brothers, but you were one of my favorite primarchs.”
“You are indeed crazy. How did it even happen that you ended up here? Did you think you would become some kind of messiah and save us from damnation?”
Yelena quietly laughed at this suggestion. Although she had repeatedly created scenarios in her head about how she could stop heresy, she never wanted to test them in real life.
“I tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge into the water. The last thing I remember was the fall. Then I woke up here. My goal was death, and yet I'm here. Trying to stop heresy is just an unplanned side effect.”
“Suicide, that's a crime. You know I should punish you for it.”
Oh Yelena was well aware of this. She still remembered the chapter in his book where he tortured a woman who tried to kill herself. However, the tone of his voice indicated that he was hesitating after all. Could it be that her words had actually made an impression on him?
“Of course, you can brutally kill me at this point. I think if you're quick, even the custodian we talked about earlier won't hear me. But as an alternative to my penance, I offer a conversation. When was the last time you talked to someone who isn't a soldier or doesn't empty their bladder in fear at the sight of you?”
“There is no Custodian at the door. I saw him leave his post when I went out to the garden and he hasn't returned yet. But fine, let's talk.”
WAIT WHAT.
W H A T
THAT FUCKER KNEW IT SINCE THE START AND WAS PLAYING HER?
Yelena now understood how in a very dangerous situation she was. And I guess Curze had a good laugh at her reaction to this, because a slight amusement could be heard in his voice. What an asshole.
But she still kept her promise, continuing the conversation. And honestly? To her surprise, she discovered that the moment Konrad felt comfortable around someone, he was a great talking partner. She honestly didn't even realize how long they talked until she saw the sunrise. Now, not quite sure how it happened, they were both sitting on a tree (how the branches didn't break under his weight was also a mystery to her), and she was telling him about her past.
“…So as I said, Terra in my universe is divided into nations, called countries. I was born in a country called Poland, but at the age of nineteen, I moved to England to work in a factory. They offered free housing for workers, and I desperately wanted to get away from my home.”
Yelena tapped her fingers a few times against the branch she was sitting on. Konrad sat lower below her, glancing once at her, once at the rising sun. Now that she could finally see anything, she looked curiously at his facial features. The descriptions in the books did not lie - indeed Konrad was beautiful. It may not have been a conventional beauty like Fulgrim's, but he was as beautiful as a dark, starry night is beautiful.
Meanwhile, Curze nodded, apparently thinking about his next words. Suddenly, however, he froze in place, tilting his head to the side, toward where the entrance to the garden was located. He then looked at Yelena and put a finger to his lips, letting her know to be quiet.
Well, it didn't take her long before she understood why. After only a minute, she heard heavy footsteps and voices that she recognized almost immediately.
“The blood trail leads to the garden. Do you think she's still alive?”
“Don't make a monster out of our brother, Horus. He wouldn't kill a young woman because he was bored.”
“Do you really believe that? How else do you explain the blood?”
Yelena looked at Curze and then at her wounded hand. The cut had long since sealed itself, but apparently the bleeding must have been significant enough to leave a trail behind. The man merely rolled his eyes and smiled slightly. He apparently enjoyed watching his brothers' slight panic.
The two wordlessly watched as Sanguinius and Horus stopped under the tree they were sitting on. Yelena widened her eyes slightly, seeing how magnificent Great Angel looked bathed in the rays of the rising sun. In his case, the book descriptions were not wrong either. Then her gaze fell on Horus and moved back to Konrad. The man only smiled wider, as if even more amused with the look on her face. Well, yes, they both knew that she was in for a serious conversation with him. And Konrad wasn't going to help with that at all.
Yelena felt a strong hand grab her ankle and yank her down. Before she had time to scream, Curze covered her mouth with his hand. What the hell was he up to, pulling her down to sit next to him? And then it came to her. There were many more leaves where he had placed her, creating a sort of shield for her from their view. She had already forgotten how much he enjoyed playing with his siblings' minds.
Just a second later, Sanguinius lifted his head up, probably sensing Konrad. Horus followed his lead and tilted his head slightly. Then he asked a question.
“Curze. What did you do to her?”
Konrad did not answer him, only smiled wider. Yelena sighed, seeing this. She was not eager to talk to these two, but she had to do something. In Konrad's case it went easily because the panic attack did most of the work for her.
“Konrad stop playing with them.” Yelena muttered, shifting on a branch, intending to show herself to them. It was a mistake, however, because at that moment fatigue decided to make its presence known, and she lost her balance. Both she and Konrad were not fast enough to stop her from falling. The crack of a snapping branch sounded and Yelena lost any support, diving downward. However, instead of hitting the ground, she felt strong hands catch her in flight. Before she knew it, she was in Sanguinis' arms. The angel looked at her and a friendly smile appeared on his lips.
“I said he didn't do anything to her.” He carefully placed her on the ground, still looking at her. After a second, a bang sounded as Konrad jumped down from the tree beside them. With a movement of his hand, he adjusted his coat.
“My name is Sanguinius. The uglier one is Horus.”
“Don't make me pluck those wings.” Horus retorted and crouched down next to Yelena. “You are the main topic of gossip in the palace. Lion has been walking around angry since yesterday that Father is treating you so gently instead of keeping you in a cell.”
Angel only sighed.
“When we met in the corridor, you looked at us as if you were about to cry. Can you explain why? Since you know us and if father is telling the truth, a lot about our future, I suspect that our fate will not be favorable to us.” Sanguinis' voice was much more gentle and warm. He didn't demand like Curze, and gave her space to decide.
Yelena cursed in her mind. She looked at Konrad, who tilted his head slightly as he listened to their discussion.
“I think it will be better if I talk about this in private."
The last thing she wanted was to spoil the friendship between Horus and Sanguinis, and honestly? She feared that would be the case if anyone found out what the future and the chaos gods were preparing for the primarch of XVI Legion.
______
Author's note: And the second chapter behind us. I apologize for such a long wait, but I had a great deal of university assignments. On top of that I had a mild depressive episode. I hope I managed to convey the personalities of the primarchs well, because honestly it was especially difficult with Konrad (I think I read Night Haunter 3 times and the bastard has a different personality in each chapter).

So sorry about it 🙏🙏.

You stood, motionless, your eyes fixed in disbelief upon the distant scene before you. As the wind cut through the air, a shiver ran down your spine, leaving goosebumps in its wake. The purity of the air surrounded you, carrying with it an intoxicating scent that smelled pure. The warm touch of the sun's rays caressing your skin affirmed that this experience couldn't possibly be a figment of your imagination. A fleeting thought of doubt crept in, but you quickly dismissed it; after all, you had never dabbled in any kind of drugs. This moment, as unbelievable as it seems, had to be undeniably real.
With careful fingers, you gently retrieved your fallen shoe/heel/slipper from the bed of plush, emerald-green grass. As you slipped it back onto your foot, your eyes instinctively wandered upward, transfixed by the expansive stretch of blue sky above you. It was quite unlike the very bright pixelated one you see on your screen. Everything that you see within the door was real and not a nightmare.
____________________________________
After composing yourself, you went inside your cafe, close the door, drag a chair nearest to the door, took a seat on the chair you placed infront of the door, and contemplated life. A deep heavy sigh got out your mouth as you continue looking the the strange thing infront of you. "What now? What do I do? Should I just lock it?" you asked yourself and looked at the door. Welp, well, there goes your master plan. Suprise suprise there's no keyhole and having a key would not make any difference. "Ugh."
You sat up and opened the door again, only to be baffled to see a different scenery other than the distant City of Mondstadt. The door was now currently in the Liyue Harbor. You closed the door and opened it again, you were now in Inazuma. Close, open, and now in Sumeru. Once again, you are now in Fontaine.
"Yeah bye." you closed the door again and returned the chair from where it once was. Contemplating what you should do next, your feet carried you around the whole café. You went to the counter and decided to make yourself something to help with calming yourself first in order to think clearly. It was a good thing that you had brought all of the materials and ingredients you needed in the café because you had thought of opening the café tomorrow. But with how things are now, you don't know what to do.
Teyvat is filled with many dangerous beings such as hilichurls, slimes, etc. You are but a normal human being with no experience in fighting and fighting your baby cousins was not enough of an experience to be able to fight toe to toe with monsters you have only seen through a screen. Yes, a gun would probably best to use but you don't have a permit for that and you don't want to be in jail when you have just barely open your dream café. But nobody had to know, right? What if-
A deep sigh fell from your lips once again. The stress is really getting in to you, huh? The bitter/sweet aroma of (coffee/tea/juice) filled your sense of smell. You were making your favorite, (your choice of coffee/tea/juice). After some time of finishing your drink, you took it along with a (pastry of your choice) that you had in your car, in which you had thought of eating to celebrate the opening, and sat in a chair facing the door. Taking your time in eating/drinking, many thoughts come and go in your head to solve the predicament you are in now. You had even thought of postponing the opening of the café until you had thought of a way on what to do with the door.
Of course you read the fanfics circulating all around the genshin fandom and one of the those that you have read was SAGAU where you might be the imposter or the creator of teyvat or you become a villain or anything in between. The most common of them was being an imposter. What if you were to become the said imposter if one day a person will open the door to your café? What if they kill you? What if-
*creak......*
Your rambling came to a stop as you looked at the door horrified. Oh no no no no no no NO NO NO! YOU JINXED YOURSELF DIDN'T YOU?! THIS DAMNED FATE-
'Oh dear God, Buddha, Allah, Deities, whoever higher being there is, pls help me...' you thought as you clasp your hands, praying to higher beings. Before you could even feel it, tears cascaded down you face to the table. "I'm nOt ReAdy tO dIE yeT... Ughhhhhhhh" you sobbed into your hands loudly like a child lost in a mall.
"Hello?" a person peaked from behind the door.
Fuck.

The Traveler, along with Paimon, was doing their daily quests until they saw something shining in the far distance. Their curiousity made them want to investigate it.
"Hm. Why is a door in the middle of the forest with no support or whatsoever?" Paimon mumbled as the door came into their view. The Traveler also had the same thought.
"Is it perhaps a magic door of some kind? I think w-"
*creak*
The Traveler stopped speaking as the door opened but from where they are right now, they couldn't see who opened the door and couldn't get to ask since the door closed with a loud bang when they were going to get closer.
"Well... that was something..." Paimon looked at the Traveler. "Traveler? What's wrong? BREATHE! YOU'RE GOING TO DIE AT THIS RATE!" Paimon brought tons of fried egg out of the Traveler's bag and smacked it into the Traveler's mouth and forced them to chew the egg.
After confirming the Traveler is back into top condition, Paimon asked them what the hell happened to them.
"I-I don't know. I suddenly felt something when whoever opened that door and the air around me became heavy that it became hard to breathe..." The Traveler shooked their head gently and sighed. "I also felt something strange. The energy of whoever is beyond that door, excluded an aura that is very familiar to me, but I don't know who or what it is."
"Hm. Paimon thinks that we should open that door and see whoever that and see if they truly are familiar to you or maybe perhaps this connection that you feel is related to your sibling!" Paimon twirled around the air, exaggerating her words with her actions.
For once, Traveler thought it was a good idea at first but there is also a flaw in that idea. A flaw that might cause their life if whoever is beyond that door is hostile and will kill them. It is better to be cautious then to be 6ft underground before finding their sibling.

Soulmate arc
A/n: A little bit late for Valentine, but here ya go! Idk when I'll continue this, but this has been stuck in my brain for a long time.

Chapter 1 > Chapter 2
You’ve heard about the story tales from your Mother Sera. How Lucifer has fallen because of his bizarre dreams.  To give humans a free will, which cost chaos to the world.
As a punishment he was forced out of heaven with his Love Lilith. Sera claims that she wanted you to be safe, so there is one top rule she set up: Don’t Question heaven.
You keep on holding tight to this one rule, not like your sister Emily. She gets into a lot of trouble when you’re not watching, which gets you also in trouble.
Big Sister, Big responsibility, that’s what your mother always says.
Sitting on the couch looking down at the apple sign on your wrist. It was a small apple with a snake surrounding it. It’s a Soulmate mark.
Every Angel gets a soulmate, so they get the perfect heir, some angels describe It as a heart pull and ache. You don’t really enjoy that you’re forced to love someone. It’s somewhere unfair that humans can marry someone they choose to love and trust. Meanwhile when Angels reject their bond, it will kill the two Soulmates in a span of time.
Even when they’re too long apart it will show in a disturbing way. Aggression, Not eating, no sleep, the list goes on and on.
Putting your sleeve above your mark, not wanting anyone to see it. You got once because of it in trouble. Not a pleasant memory that you want to re live.
It does remind people of Lucifer, but he got Lilith, his soulmate. So that possibility is shrunk to zero. Why else sacrifice living in heaven for a woman?
Today was the meeting with Charlie the daughter of Lucifer. She wanted to talk about a hotel named Hazbin Hotel.
…Time Skip…
The court room was all a mess, chaos has broken out whispering and hushes echoed through the pearly white halls.
Emma broke the Silence with her soft singing voice “But she was right, Sera. She Showed us the soul can Improve. He saw the light, Sera. Checked all the boxes that you said would.” You Interrupted Emily and for the first-time in your live, you disobeyed the one set rule.
“Prove a person deserve a second chance, now we turn our Backs, no second glance?” Sera looked towards you slightly disappointed but also guilty.
Then the bomb was thrown in the room, extermination. It left you speechless. Why hide something like this and say it was for protection?
It all went down so quick and with one move you started to doubt everything in heaven. Sera was scared, scared shitless that she’d loose Emily and you, but mostly you.
You started to Ignore her and rarely left your room. The betrayal was harsh for you. You trusted your mother dearly and now you find out that your mother kills souls because she feels threatened. Threatened because of Lucifers dreams she said was once foolish.
You started to break rules after Rules, causing a havoc in heaven when you leaked the Information about an extermination in hell. And in less than a week you were in chains in the courtroom.
“Do you have any Idea what damage you’ve done Y/n?” Sera’s voice echoed through those now soulless halls. The seats now all almost empty. “What damage I’ve done? You call me the Imposter, but have you ever thought what you’ve done? You lied to your people AND your Family Sera.”
Ouch, you never called her Sera just Mom. “Just do it already, I’m tired of hanging in here and watching my failure of a mother trying to push this longer.” You spat on the cold floor. The coldness reminds you how the last few days felt in heaven. Cold and lonely. “As you wish, do it.” her voice cracked, it was barely audible, but you could hear it.
You shut your eyes tight and with a swift Moment you felt how your wings were cut off, your scream filled these cool, lonely court room. Sera was already gone, not wanting to see how she failed in one of her children.
The rest of your wings were ripped out of your back, making gold blood squirting all over the white floor painting it in a unique color. And then you fell, too exhausted to let out a desperate call for the comfort of your own mother.
She didn’t even stay.
Tears pooled lightly out of your eye. Even though heaven didn’t feel like home anymore, you’ll still miss heaven.
The wind gushed on your Injured back making it only hurt more than it already does, you fell so fast, this is something you never really experienced you never fell as an Angel. But you fell, you fell deep and Landed on the ground.
It the worst you’ve felt in these last hundred years of living. The bone that was connecting your wings with your body broke more into splinters at the impact. It had dirt sticking on your bones making you hiss as you tried to stand up making them move slightly in the dust. No success.
You tried a couple more times, but you feel your stamina running out fast, so you just gave up. You laid there for a couple of seconds before you eventually pass out.
Lucifer sat in his magic room, where his magical creations came from. The only thing besides Charlie what kept him happy. He took final glances at his old façade.
It’s time to move on and move into the Hazbin hotel, even though he hates that radio guy, he does everything for his little Charlie. He walked out of his mansion closing it with a key. Taking a deep breath, he spun around and was ready to go.
Something crashed loud in front of him, swirling all the dirt into Lucifers face. He coughed and waved the dust away. “What the fuck?” He looked at the cause for this early tumult, only to see a very beautiful woman in front of him. It didn’t take him a while to see that she was pretty bad Injured. His eyes dropped at the golden blood. “Oh no.”
The figure tried to stand up but fall multiple times and passed out after a while. No, no, no, no. Turning her around to see the damage, and it is bad.
Three main bones ripped and broken apart, making him note down that she wasn’t just any Angel, she is a seraph. “Let me help you.” He carried her body very carefully, so he couldn’t do more damage towards her back. Teleporting himself and his other stuff in the hotel apartment, he laid you on his bed with your belly pressed on the mattress.
He started to heal your back slowly and washed off the dirt from your face and the injury. He knew he couldn’t fully heal her wings back. But she could survive this with his help. And in an odd reason he couldn’t let her die. Some kind of pull on his heart making him already slightly attach towards the sleeping beauty.
And this routine was repeated every day and when he realized her back was fully healed, he turned her on her back again. Seeing her now in all her beauty.
“How can someone be this pretty?” he moved a hair strand out of your face and held your cheek. Stroking it a couple of times, it is as if he’s hypnotized.
Shaking his head, he let go of her very quickly, “Lucifer you can’t just touch someone, she doesn’t even know you nor who you are.” He bit his long-clawed hand, debating whether he should go or not.
In the end he left the room with heavy displeasure. Somehow not being near you made him angry. You were hurt and needed every protection he could offer.
His mind screamed at him to go back to you, but he didn’t. This feeling confused the king of hell but, His mind and body were almost like two separate people.
 He pulled up his sleeve looking down at the red apple mark with a golden blue snake on it, like his halo. It was his Soulmate mark, he loves or loved Lilith dearly, but she wasn’t his mate.
They both thought it may didn’t showed because Lilith is after all a human. Even when he had a soulmate, after landing in hell, he knew he’d never see his soulmate ever.
He pulled his white sleeve again over the mark, not wanting to think about the what ifs. Maybe helping his daughter would keep his mind from you. “Let’s help Charlie.”
After a while Lucifer still caught himself worried about you.
You were laying on his bed for weeks, he healed you every morning and every evening hoping that you’d finally wake up.
The arch angel Lucifer, and now king of hell, was worried about a seraph, what sarcasm.
Getting ready for bed, Lucifer started to dress himself in his night gown and went to the couch. Since you’re sleeping on his bed, Lucifer decided to sleep on the couch. He didn’t want to disturb your healing progress
Hugging yourself into this blanket was heaven, and the smell of sweet apple and an alluring scent of musk. You never want to leave this place, for the first time since months you felt in peace.
Fluttering your eyes open, you stretched you arms and legs, but one thing was missing. Your wings. And then reality came crushing down on you. You fell, from heaven. Your mother let you fall down the drain. She lied and didn’t even try to explain it to you.
It was hard to breath as if you’d re-live the horror of falling from heaven down to hell.
You shacked uncontrollable making you Fall out of the bed. Out of habit you tried to fly those few centimeters.
With a shallow thumb you fell on the floor.
You winced from the Impact, and you tried to push yourself up with the next high object with shivering hands.
This was a different gravity situation.
Without your wings you slumped forwards, nothing to weigh your back.
You pushed yourself upwards with the help of the shelf above you. The shelf lets out a creak from your weight and you fall back down with the shelf.
The whole content on the shelf fell and crashed into pieces and you fell right into them.
The ceramic pieces digged into your freshly healed wounds, you know that when you move, you’ll re-open the back wound.
Out of panic your body began to move on autopilot.
With low groans and muffled screams, you leaned on the bed, golden blood smearing around the broken shelf and the white mattress.
You started to sob at the pain.
It was dark and all you wanted was to bathe yourself in the scent of that blanket.
You searched for it.
In the darkness you couldn’t quite figure it out where the blanket was but after a while you found it.
Holding the piece of cloth on your nose just to smell the comforting scent. You yelped when the light flicker on. A figure standing in the light. The figure was about 5’10 tall.
You hid behind the blanket not wanting to look at the sudden appearance at the front door.
Lucifer shot up at the sound of breaking ceramic. His mind told him to run towards the sound that came out of your room making him high alert.
An Intruder?
But who’d dare to come into the king of hells chamber?
Then he remembered that you were in his room, and without second thought he rushed towards your bedroom turning on the lights.
“You’re awake!”

The winter air is brisk and a little volatile, but you feel blessed to have it whirl past your skin—even more blessed to watch Satoru’s flesh prickle at the sensation. Alive.
You had done your best to rummage through the expanse of his closet to find a suitable coat for him to wear—one that would cut the chill of an afternoon breeze when it inevitably brushed across his body. January could be unforgiving at times—the harshest of winter moths. You wondered how cold death must’ve felt.
“Satoru, where are your shoes?” You inquired, voice muffled in his closet as you sifted through garments, multitasking in an attempt to compose an outfit for him.
He sat at the edge of his bed, eyes fixed on your movements as they often were, mind turning at your question for a moment. He stood then, paced towards the shoe rack that stood outside the closet door, and reached gently for one of your busied hands. Satoru points your fingers towards the collection of shoes.
You paused your movements, eyes curious as they followed his guidance before landing upon their intended target. “Oh, that’s right,” you said with a small shake of your head, bearing a self-defeating smile and feeling rather silly for your oversight.
It was a challenge to become acquainted with someone else’s home amidst everything else, responsibilities stacking upon responsibilities. However, Satoru continued to prove that he could recall more than you initially thought, that he could act as your guiding light when called upon. A little ironic, you think. A little pathetic, too? No, you are human, after all. Just as he is.
He smiled in return. You swore there was even a hint of a familiar light-hearted, teasing glimmer in his eye, unless you were seeing things.
(You weren’t.)
For once, you are grateful for the rather serene nature of the school’s grounds as you stroll across them side-by-side with him, much like in days from a not-so-distant past. The remaining fallen leaves from the trees dressing the mountains rustle with the wind, colored by the touch of death but still beautiful all the same, just like something else you know.
“We can always go back if it gets too cold,” you say as a reminder to Satoru of his agency, his home on campus easy to circle back to should you take the notion. You fear he might choose to freeze himself into another early grave if that’s what you wished, and you can’t fathom the idea of making him suffer simply because he thinks it pleases you to do so. Your happiness is somehow his, and although this is a new quality you have yet to decipher, there’s still something about it that strikes you as indulgent and rather characteristic of a gluttonous Satoru Gojo.
He doesn’t respond, gaze flitting across his surroundings as he walks, nerve endings and six eyes absorbing a litany of information. A silent Satoru used to be a rare occurrence but is now the default, the air somehow punctured by the lack of his voice riding along it. However, his presence is still stark, his being brimming with energy as if to make up for the words he can no longer speak.
Unbeknownst to you, he communicates with you not only with his physical body, but with his feelings, too—waves of energy that he projects outward on instinct, hoping you’ll have the means to grasp what he is trying to say even if he isn’t always sure what it is. It has been rather unsynchronized and sloppy thus far, but with each day that passes, your ability to hear him grows.
You can hear him now even with the only sounds being the breeze rushing in your ears and leaves crunching beneath the soles of shoes. There is something somber about him, more than usual, mixed with that same sense of being lost in a world that feels brand new.
All of it is familiar to Satoru on a physical level—the paths, the buildings, the foliage—but what prickles his mind is attempting to piece together the myriad of strange feelings that arise as he is faced with more and more reminders of a past that he can’t fully recall.
It’s as though the memories are trying to surface but can’t quite fuse into something tangible, something concrete, like when you feel a word forming just at the tip of your tongue but it never arrives. He can sense them deeply in his body, almost experience a brief image flashing like lightning through his mind before it disappears. Satoru’s frustration is palpable, and he reaches for your hand.
Icy-cold fingers nipped by winter intertwine with yours, tethering him in place as his fractured mind aches with the burden of obscurity. His physical affection is new to you, but you allow it—welcome it, even. As much as the earnest displays contrast with his previous tiptoeing around connection, it is yet another thing you can’t bear to turn down, not after everything that’s happened.
You hope it isn’t simply guilt of all things compelling you to accommodate him, but wouldn’t it be equally bad to do it for selfish reasons? Could one misconstrue it as taking advantage, of feeding off his need to satisfy some part of you that had always wanted him?
The various implications make your head swim with conflict, so you force yourself to shut them down for the time being. Satoru is only holding your hand, nothing more, at least for the moment. There had of course been instances of his lips pecking against your own, wandering down to your neck, his hand settling on your waist as if to draw you closer… but you’d always managed to divert his attention in one way or another, severing the connection before either of you could become too engrossed in it. He never seemed overly perturbed to shift direction, but you couldn’t help but wonder just how long his patience might last, and if you’d be able to figure out what you even were to him before then.
Needless to say, nothing could have ever prepared you for something like this. What drives you forward more than anything is your contentment with the fact that he’s here walking the earth with you, as whole as he can be after having been stolen from the arms of death. And despite the abundance of challenges, part of you can’t help but feel special for being chosen to face them.
When your feet bring you near the school’s entrance, gates opening way for a path down the mountain, Satoru stops dead in his tracks, alert like an animal that’s suddenly caught a scent. His grip on your hand tightens, heart plummeting into his stomach as something takes hold of him, something he likely couldn’t put into words even if he had the ability to speak.
You turn to check over him with your gaze, concern etched upon your features at the immediate change of pace. “Satoru…?” you call softly, yearning for a chance to be able to peek into his mind. All you can do is feel the chill of his demeanor.
His name drifting upon your voice earns a split second of his attention, but he is, for once, captivated by something else.
Pierced gut. Blocked throat. Summer sun and the sounds of buzzing.
It’s a memory that lives in his body but not his conscious mind, an instinct telling him to heed the surroundings for a threat that once was. He relives it with a rapid heartbeat, knows it bears importance, but he can only recall shreds of information that don’t merge together to form a full picture. He simmers in mounting frustration.
Black hair. Sharp eyes. Boiling blood—the brink of death.
Satoru turns on a dime and faces a figure in the distance, on guard and brimming with a sort of defensiveness you’d never quite seen before, at least not coming from him. Muscles rigid, he squeezes your upper arm as if to warn you, to keep you close, his extraordinary senses absorbing information quicker than you can even pivot to see what it is he’s looking at.
From around the corner of a building emerges Megumi, clad in warm clothes and a mellow disposition. His distinctly unruly hair makes it easy to identify him even from where he appears down the path, hands in his pockets as he strolls towards you upon recognition.
Satoru’s mind runs through calculations as the young student approaches, attempting to distinguish and fill gaps and create something he can take hold of as a semblance of fact.
Black hair. Sharp eyes. Something… different?
Megumi’s cursed energy burns in a recognizable way, striking Satoru as peculiar as he instinctively studies it with the six eyes. But it makes sense to him—it’s familiar, even if he struggles to trust it in full. This is someone he hasn’t met since his awakening, but someone his eyes have certainly seen before.
You can sense the fear radiating off Satoru’s being and into yours, the presence of someone other than you agitating his already troubled state. You must act.
“Look, it’s Megumi,” you say softly with an encouraging smile, encasing his hand with your palm and hoping that your pleasant reaction takes the edge off. Satoru is reluctant to avert his gaze, but does so anyway, blue darting in your direction to witness the happiness written in your features. You appear to trust this person, and he trusts you, so despite the pounding in his chest, the sorcerer relaxes his grip.
You guide Satoru to take a few steps forward with you to meet Megumi as he draws nearer, a tired but welcoming smile turning your lips upward to greet him. It’s nice to see the boy alive and well in the aftermath of his own debacle—or at least as well as someone could possibly be. You wish there had been something more you could’ve done to help him recover, but it was known to many that you happened to have your hands full at the moment. Hopefully he will understand.
“Hey,” Megumi utters quietly, eyes scanning over your face and then his teacher’s, trying to briefly assess your individual states.
“Hi, Megumi,” you respond, appraising him yourself. He seems to be all in one piece, which you had been informed of, but had yet to see yourself. It’s nice to have visual confirmation. “How are you?”
“Fine,” he replies quickly, flatly, minimizing himself as usual. His voice is more sincere when inquiring about your wellbeing. “And you?”
You grin, finding a way to sum up your experience without overwhelming him. “Hanging in there,” you muse with a breathy chuckle. There’s no use in worrying him with all the details of Gojo’s current condition and how it has subsequently flipped your world upside down, but Megumi is shrewd, and you’re sure he can come to some sort of conclusion, especially when briefed by the others who have eyes on the situation.
Megumi awkwardly rubs at the back of his neck, skirting around vulnerability and concern as his next question arises. “Gojo-sensei… how are you doing?”
Satoru has been silent all the while, of course, but sorting through every detail while you and his former student exchange pleasantries. Neurons fire, rewiring frazzled connections, giving him a glimpse at how this boy is not the same as the one he bears a resemblance to.
Megumi isn’t sure what sort of response to expect; in fact, he feels silly for expecting one at all, posing a question that he’s fairly certain can’t be answered directly. But how else was he meant to conduct himself in such an interaction, to show that he cares? To speak as if Gojo weren’t even there would feel like even more of an insult.
You’re caught in the middle, watching Satoru’s face and seeing the gears turning in his head. “I think we’re all just… learning how to adjust to things, y’know?” you reply with a rather vacant smile, turning back to Megumi who understands your subtext with ease. Rather than speak for Satoru, you’ve made a blanket statement to provide just the slightest bit of feedback, and Megumi is well aware.
The student nods his head with a short hum of acknowledgment, doing his best to see his mentor in this new light—one he never thought would be possible, not when it came to someone who had always claimed to be so strong. But at least there is a light at all.
The wind tosses leaves around between the three of you, filling the silence with its quiet whispers. You wish there was more to be said. You wish you had a solid grasp of how well Satoru really was doing.
“I think Ieiri said she wanted to see you soon,” Megumi states, acting as a courier, trying to fill the space with words.
You nod. “Yeah, we’ve been in touch. We’re actually meant to meet up with her tomorrow.”
Shoko, while expectedly rather removed, had been one of your primary contacts and supports thus far, apart from Ijichi who shouldered the burden of several essential tasks you hadn’t been able to complete on your own. You felt guilty for sending him out for groceries and back to your apartment for extra sets of clothes, but how else would you manage to make it by? Leaving Satoru alone or in the care of someone else wasn’t currently an option, and taking him outside the school grounds didn’t sound like an optimal idea either at the present moment. So you had to make do in the meantime, and you were truly grateful for the help, but you couldn’t help but hope that things would eventually fall into place. Maybe Shoko would have answers.
“That’s good,” Megumi replies with a sparkle of hope in his tone, then reluctantly adds, “and, uh… just let me know if I can do anything to help, okay?”
You respond to his gesture with a warm smile. “Thank you, Megumi. That’s very kind.” You don’t have immediate plans for taking the young man up on his offer, but you appreciate the sentiment regardless. He deserves to rest and seek peace, not fight any more battles for the sake of others.
A twinge of pink colors the apples of Megumi’s cheeks, and he recedes into the scarf wrapped around his neck, unused to accepting grace from others without feeling inclined to quarrel about it. He is at a loss for words, somewhat eager to make his escape before the vulnerability has the chance to further consume his dignity. You take that as something of a cue.
“Well, we—” you start, preparing to make a closing statement and depart, before being interrupted by a sudden movement to your left—Satoru, breaking free from his fixed state to perform a familiar gesture.
As if finally making a connection, he grins and mimics the Ten Shadows hand configuration for summoning the Divine Dogs, clapping his palms together and examining Megumi’s reaction with ardor. The student is startled out of his mild embarrassment, somewhat baffled by the sudden communication attempt and the implication that his mentor perhaps actually remembers who he is. It’s a pleasant surprise to you both, and a moment or two is required for it to sink in.
Your face lights up with glee, heart warmed by the simple action in a way that’s difficult to express. Megumi appears to be in a similar boat—taken aback, but ultimately stricken with joy.
A modest smile creeps upon Megumi’s lips as he softly mirrors the motion with his own hands, acknowledging Gojo’s revelation. “Yeah…” he says, voice faint but pleased. “Divine Dogs.”
Every brief glimpse into Satoru’s thoughts feels like a blessing, and this is certainly no exception. It’s refreshing to watch him have a moment of sincere connection with someone other than yourself, and it leaves you glowing with hope for the future as you bid Megumi farewell and make your way back home.

“Head back, Satoru.”
Water splashes into the bathtub as Satoru cranes his neck to peer up at the ceiling as per your request, a cup full of liquid streaming over his hair and carrying shampoo suds along with it.
After returning from your walk, you’d prepared something for dinner and eventually urged Satoru into the tub for a bath before bed—yet another activity that seemed to get a little easier every time you did it.
Figuring out how to get him to bathe had initially been quite the challenge, but you had managed to devise a method that had gotten the job done quite well thus far. He might’ve looked rather awkward sitting cramped in the shallow bath with a pair of swimming trunks on while you rinsed him with an old plastic cup you’d excavated from a cabinet, but it was the most effective way to get him clean and preserve both your dignities while doing it. Though you were the only one who seemed to be concerned with such things.
Satoru blinks when a few soapy droplets backslide into one of his eyes, causing him to squint, scrunch, and rub it with his fingers until the uncomfortable sensation eases. He looks at you, almost as if to say, “Hey! That burns!”
You chuckle and shake your head with a playful roll of your eyes. “That’s why you’re supposed to close your eyes, goober.”
He wants to submerge in a pout, but your playfulness rids him of the inclination. Satoru instead shifts his focus to the beauty of your frame perched upon the edge of the tub, a beacon of divinity as you cleanse him with care and devotion. He takes the notion to express an inkling of gratitude by leaning forward and placing a kiss against your lips, lukewarm water rippling around him as it gradually cools.
You’re somewhat stiff and unresponsive, the sudden gesture catching you by surprise as it usually does, but you don’t chastise him for it; in fact, it takes a certain level of concentration for you to avoid letting your thoughts linger on his current state: hair slicked back; flesh exposed and glistening with droplets of water; lips warm, wet, and eager for reciprocation…
Your mouth receives his but does not encourage him for more than a split second, pulling back gently from his advance until you can see Satoru shiver as the water chills his body. His eyes are glued to your face, waiting for a reaction as you prepare to make one more pass over his hair with the cup to see that he is fully rinsed, this time using your hand to shield his eyes from any backflow (and from your expression, which is surely indicative of your now rapid heartbeat).
The action is enough to distract him for the moment, but Satoru is still on edge, teeming with infatuation and need. He is unsatisfied with your response—or lack thereof—and is frustrated with his inability to express it, but your hands carefully wiping drops of water from his face act as a temporary soothing agent.
“Alright, let’s get dried off and ready for bed,” you say, standing to fetch his towel from the rack and bring it back to him before reaching down to trigger the tub to drain. “We’re going to talk to Shoko tomorrow.”
Satoru is less concerned with the meaning of your words than he is with how lovely you sound while saying them. He is once again caught in your spell, entranced by the need to be closer but settling for the scraps that you give him—for now.
You aren’t convinced of his comprehension of what you say, but nevertheless, you use the sweetened tone to deflect from the overwhelm of watching him stand and observe your every move as you help to dry his chiseled body. Satoru is tall and looming, scarred in the midriff, but compliant with your ministrations; however, his easygoing nature doesn’t keep your hands from wanting to shake against the towel that repeatedly caresses his physical beauty. You wish you could torch every thought in your mind, switch your brain off to preserve the strength and sanity that remains.
You aren’t sure how long you’ll be able to remain steadfast and maintain this cycle of “temporaries” until something eventually changes. And what if it never does?
You suppose the only thing you can do for now is try your best and wait and see what the future holds. It certainly can’t be any worse than what you’ve already been through, especially now that Satoru is by your side once more. That is something you’ve realized you wouldn’t trade for anything.

You didn’t get much of a chance to leave the bedroom that day. It wasn’t until late that Sylus decided to have mercy on you that he scooped you up from the bed and carried you out to the hot springs to help relieve some of the ache in your body. The hot water was doing wonders for your overworked muscles.
You could have fallen asleep out there if you weren’t careful. Thankfully you had Sylus to lean on so he wouldn’t let you fall asleep and drown. He had put your body through a lot, you knew without having to look you were covered in bruises and scratches. Yet, despite how intense everything could get he always fell back to tenderness after it was done. Soft words spoken in your ear, soothing touches that helped to ground you once more.
You peeked your eyes open again and found him already staring at you. The smile on his face faltered and your brow furrowed. “Something wrong?” you asked.
“No, nothing’s wrong.” he said. “I just remembered there was something else I had forgotten to mention this morning.”
“And what would that be?”
“It is nothing but you should know in case you begin to think of our situation in a new way, I don’t want you carrying any false hope.” he said.
“What are you talking about?”
“Dragons do not love.”
You straightened hearing the word love come from his lips. Sylus continued. “We do not love. Dragons are fierce and they care about their mates, protect their children, but the love that you humans know is not who we are.” he traced a finger across your cheek, “I cannot love you, not because I would not want to, I am incapable of it.”
You did not believe that for a second but you did not say anything. If Sylus believed that he couldn’t love then that would have to be something he discovered wasn’t true by himself. Not that you had come into this expecting him to fall in love with you. You didn’t expect some kind of obligation out of him when you invited him into your bed. You had lovers before and did not ask or expect them to fall in love with you either.
As far as you were both concerned, this was all in good fun. But you did not think that he was right. He was a dragon, but he was also very human.
Sylus cleared his throat. “Did you have anything to say about that?” he asked.
“I understand.” you pulled yourself onto his lap, resting your head on his shoulder. If you didn’t know any better, you would have said he looked mildly disappointed by your reaction.
~~~
After that there was hardly a moment where Sylus was not pouncing on you. At any moment he would be on you, bending you over the closest flat object to fuck you. It did not matter when or what you were doing, if the urge hit he was there. When you were cooking, bathing, cleaning, reading, it mattered not. You had to tell him to stop fucking you while you were in the middle of cooking because your meals were ending up more charcoal than venison. Eating burnt food may not be bad for him but it certainly wasn’t great for you.
As much as he was a menace about it you couldn’t say you were any better. More than once you had ambushed him as well. He always seemed especially pleased when you surprised him like that. The man was a brick wall in every other instance but when you passed him in a corridor and decided throw him up against the wall he did not resist, inviting you further to shove his shoulders down so you could kiss him. It usually ended with him knelt on the floor with your legs over his shoulders and your hands on his horns.
This day you were back in bed, Sylus had you on your side, slowly thrusting against you. There was no hurry. It was a perfect lazy day in, and that counted for sex too. You weren’t even doing it with an end goal of a big orgasm, you had just wanted to feel good together. If you ended up coming then that was all well, but it was not the point.
In a way this felt so much better. The steady slow simmer of pleasure that kept your body warm and your head fuzzy, like when you drank a glass more of mulled wine than you probably should have at the autumn festival.
“Hey Sylus,” you said.
“Want me to speed up again?” he pressed a kiss to the back of your neck.
“No, not that.” you giggled as his lips tickled your skin. “I was wondering something. Why do we never go back to your bedroom?”
“We do.” he eased your leg up to get a better angle on you. “This is my room.”
“What?” you tried to crane your neck back to look at him. “This room?”
“Yes.” he kept your thigh in place with his tail and tilted your head back to kiss your lips. “This was my room before I gave it to you. It’s not exactly easy to get a mattress, let alone a bedframe up the mountain you know. I wasn’t going to do it more than needed.”
“But why?” you tried to twist in his arms to look at him but he kept you pinned on your side, not willing to leave you.
“Because I figured you would rather sleep in a bed then some slab of stone somewhere in the cave. Are you done asking questions now?”
“No! Where have you been sleeping all this time then?”
“The hoard room mostly. I’m far more used to the hard ground so it wasn’t a problem. But I am glad I can finally reclaim my own bed.” he thrust into you a little harder.
“Mm,” you sighed, reclining back against him. “Why did you never say anything?”
“Wouldn’t have changed anything, except to make you feel guilty.”
“But it was your bed first! You hadn’t even known me more than half an hour when you gave me this room. Why wouldn’t you--”
“I already told you why. And I wasn’t going to take it back even if you offered.”
“But--”
“That’s enough of these questions. You have your answers. There’s nothing to change them now. In fact,” he covered your mouth, “You’re going to keep quiet until we’re done here. If you make a single sound when you come you’re going to get punished. Understand, little bird?”
You nodded, your heart racing with this new game. “Good girl.” he rolled you onto your stomach, his cock still wedged in you from behind. “I’m going to start pounding you now and remember, not a sound.”
Your face was buried in the mattress as he fucked you from behind. The low simmer you had been idly burning in for the morning was quickly being stoked into a raging fire. Your instinct was to cry out and moan as your pussy took the harsh pace. Sylus was not giving you a chance to ease into the oncoming orgasm. He was delivering it hard and fast and without mercy.
You bit your lip to keep silent, trying to breathe through your nose to control yourself. You wondered for a moment if Sylus would really be able to hear a tiny little moan or whine over the noise of your bodies pounding together or his own grunting. But then you remembered how keen his sense of smell was. No doubt he had some advanced hearing too. You couldn’t tell. So much about dragons was still a mystery to you.
Sylus kept a hand between your shoulderblades, pushing your chest flat against the mattress. “Fuck! Your pussy is hotter than the hells, wildfire. It feels as if my cock is melting any time I am in you.”
Gods above this wasn’t a fair game! How were you meant to keep quiet when he talked like that?
“Turn and look at me.” he grabbed your hair and turned your head to the side so your one eye was looking back at him. He could see how tightly you were biting your lip and smiled. “Do you want to moan and scream for me?”
You nodded.
“I know you do. You want to moan and whine like a bitch in heat. You want to come for me, don’t you?”
Again you nodded. You pushed your hips back onto him and his smile grew. “Needy little thing.” he stopped moving and at that you almost cried out in frustration. “Don’t stop now. Fuck yourself on my cock just like this, push back on it. Come on.”
Gods damn him! Why did he have to make this harder? But you complied, moving your hips back to thrust against him while he remained still. He kept his hands on your ass, kneading the soft flesh but otherwise just watched as you pushed yourself against him.
Fuck it felt good! You picked up the speed, your thrusts getting shallower as you found a spot that hit you just right in your cunt. With you controlling the pace now you were better able to stop your moans from escaping. Maybe you could actually come without making any noise if this was the case.
“You’re doing so good, little bird. I love watching you like this. Taking whatever you want.” Sylus said, hand snaking around your hips to flick at your clit. “But remember who is the master here.”
He grabbed you by the hips and started pounding into you again, even harder and faster this time. The change was so jarring you ended up biting your lip so hard you felt your teeth cut into it. Blood wetted your bottom lip as you were quickly propelled into your orgasm. Your whole body had gone taut like the string of an archer’s bow, muscles clenched and tight in an effort of control, but you had made no noise.
“Fucking hells!” Sylus moaned, thrusting into your tight body twice more before spilling himself inside you. He took in a deep breath and the lust cleared from his eyes to find you still shaking and silent, eyes full of pleasurable tears as you waited for permission to speak.
“You can breathe now, little bird.” his thumb traced your face, massaging your clenched jaw. “You don’t have to keep quiet anymore. You did so well.”
All at once your body collapsed as you let out deep ragged breaths. Sylus pulled out of you and turned you over to lay next to him. “You’re bleeding.” he kissed your lips, taking your bleeding lip into his mouth. “There, better?”
“Yes.” you found your voice sounded entirely too loud now that you were allowed to talk. “You’re going to kill me with these games.”
“But aren’t they such fun?” he gave you a lopsided smile. “We’ve had a lot of fun together these past couple of weeks, haven’t we?”
“Weeks?” Had it really been that long since the beach? The days had begun to blur together, measured not by suns and moons but by being in bed and out of it.
It got you thinking. How long had you been on this mountain? It had been late spring when you had come to the mountain and now summer was nearing its end. Autumn would be coming in soon enough and the bitter winter after that. Had it really been so long since you came here?
“We’ve known each other for a couple of months now, do you realize?” you asked him.
He cocked his head. “So we have. It does not feel as if that much time has passed.”
“Not at all.” you agreed. “And yet I feel as comfortable as if I have been here all my life.”
“It is funny to think about a time before you. My world was so quiet before.” he tapped your chin, “You brought in so much noise, chirping away like the little bird you are.”
You propped your chin on his shoulder. “Sylus, can I ask you something a little personal? If you don’t want to answer that’s fine but the curiosity has been clawing at me.”
“What is it?”
“Why did you not want me to see that chest from before?” Instantly you watched Sylus start to withdraw from you, walls going up all around him. “Like I said, you don’t need to answer if you don’t want to. I don’t want to pry, I just want to understand.”
You could see him debating. You had given him an easy out but the fact that he was considering it gave you hope. Finally he dropped his head and muttered quietly. “Fine. The contents of that chest are mementos. That’s all.”
“Mementos of what?”
“Of my life.” he fidgeted with his claws, something you noticed he only did when he was anxious which was rare. “Things from my past that I couldn’t bring myself to throw away. Stupid things like childhood clothes and books I stole from villages I lived in, part of the eggshell I hatched from…and a pendant from the dragons.”
“A pendant?”
“The only thing the dragons gave me out of kindness rather than pity. That’s why it’s so large. Tengya had made it for me.”
“Tengya? The giant dragon from the beach?” You recalled the huge black and red dragon from that night and how terrifying he had been.
“Yes.” Sylus balled his hands into fists. “Tengya…Tengya was the dragon that gave the woman who bore me the scale that cursed her. So, in a way he is my…”
“Father?”
“Creator.” Sylus said. “That is probably the reason why I survived as long as I did in the dragon tribe. Tengya felt some responsibility for this monster he created.”
“You’re not a monster.” you uncurled his fist so you could hold his hand. “I wish you would stop calling yourself that.”
Sylus didn’t say anything.
“So what is the pendant exactly?” you asked, trying to steer the subject back to safer ground. “Does it serve some purpose?”
“It grants me safe passage through a dragon’s land. Since I only sort of look like a dragon they thought it important to mark me as one of them regardless. But I feel no need to wander anymore.” he buried his face in your hair, “I like this mountain and it turned out to be a fortuitous place to settle down considering what else this land ended up offering me.”
A chuckle rose in your throat. “And who in the village would have thought that a dragon moving in would have ended up being such a good thing?” You rested kissed his cheek. “I would like to go back one day, see everyone one last time. My father especially.”
“My little bird,” Sylus said, “It is safe to say that you are no prisoner here. You stayed out of obligation but I will not keep you here forever, never to see the outside world again.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean you can go see your village whenever you want, so long as you return home to me.”
You pulled back with a wide and hopeful smile on your face. “Really? You mean that?”
“Yes, I mean it. I should have told you sooner but I’ve enjoyed having you all to myself for so long I didn’t want to share you.”
You grabbed his face and kissed him. “Thank you! You have no idea what that means to me.” you were bouncing in place, so giddy with the thought of seeing the village again. “You know, there’s actually a celebration that should be happening soon now that summer is ending. It’s the autumn harvest celebration. It was always one of my favorites.”
“Then it sounds as if you must attend.”
“Would…would you want to go with me?”
Sylus blinked at you. “A dragon attending a human celebration? We would certainly turn heads.”
“Oh right.” some of your enthusiasm faded. “Well, I can assure everyone that you are no danger to them. You did save them after all. They should want to get to know you and who knows, the may even express their gratitude for what you did for us.”
Sylus didn’t look convinced. “You’re optimistic.”
“I know.” You took both his hands in yours, “I know that you haven’t had great luck with humans before but maybe this time things can be different. They will be different. I’ll make sure of it.”
“And you are far too good a person, do you know that? Tell me, how does a heart bleed that much when I can’t even get mine to beat?”
You placed your hand over his chest. “You keep saying that dragons are incapable of human love but maybe that isn’t the problem. Maybe you should be asking what it is that dragon love is. Can it really be so different from human love?”
He placed his hand over your own wildly beating heart. His gaze grew wistful. “I doubt it is as tender as you love.”
You sighed. No trying to convince him today. You tucked yourself into his side. “I doubt that, Sylus. I really do.”
Vampire Empire
Part 2
Pairing: DarkVamp!Wanda Maximoff x DarkVamp!Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
A/N: Alright, so this writing style is not what I am used to, so feedback is definitely welcome. Due to me being unsure of this style I wanted to take a little longer to write part 2, but since yall liked part 1 so much I decided a shorter chapter was in order, I am already working on part 3, but yall gotta tell me how you feel about this one. Oh... and don't hate me for what i am about to do...
Disclaimer: English is not my first language. All mistakes are my own.
AU Warnings: Human pets, abuse, violence, possessiveness, probably incorrect vampire lore, angst, panic attacks, hurt/comfort, kitten play (?), also this is not a Carol positive fic (I have nothing against her, but I needed a villain), death Minors DNI 18+
Summary: You just want to rest.
Word Count: 1.4k
You don’t know what is happening, why- you try to pull in a desperate breath, but still, nothing. Why- why was this happening? What is happening?
Why can’t you move?!
The lesser scary of the two redheads secures herself tighter against you, now supporting your full weight. She has to shift from a crouched-down position to sitting completely in your little enclosure. Her ankle awkwardly bends beneath her thigh. The rough ground fraying her expensive dress pants.
There is a sensation like concrete pouring through your veins, you can hear your heartbeat slow, and immense pressure start building behind your eyes, but you are desperate for control over something, anything. So, as much as it pains you, you tiredly let your eyes roam around the room while trying to avoid the blank stare from the taller redhead.
Your vision takes in the scenery that has unfolded in your space, you drape your eyes over the walls, the horror of your evening with Master painted like a masterpiece, you then take a risk and slowly run your eyes over the lower half of the woman in front of you.
Wanda is standing like a woman in power, her feet spaced apart hip to hip, spreading her weight perfectly between the pair of high, amber, heels. There was a slight scuff to one of them, a chip in the plastic, whatever fell earlier must have fallen on that heel, you doubt she would walk around with an imperfect pair if not. You swirl your eyes to the ground beside her, a tusk of brown hair having caught your attention.
That’s when you see it. Staring right back at you are the lifeless eyes of the seller. Or at least that is the only name you have for him.
It’s at that moment that the reality of the situation finally sets in.
You go to let out a high-pitched whine, but no sound is made, and for the first time in a long time, you have this desperate need to cry.
You can’t even do that.
You don’t want to die.
Not like this.
You want to smell the fresh air in the cold mornings, you want to feel the sand beneath your toes, you want to taste the richness of vanilla inside a simple frozen dish, and you want to live. If only for a moment longer.
But-
There is nothing you can do.
Your body loses all will to fight, and you give up.
Wanda keeps track of your vitals while under her control, she doesn't want to hurt you, but you are out of line, and frankly, your behavior unsettles the redhead.
When she can see the fight drain from your eyes, she releases you.
She sighs as the strain in her muscles loosens, and she moves her neck from left to right, removing the remaining tenseness. A prickle in her spine begs her to stretch out her entire body, but this was neither the time nor place, though she does put a pin in it, maybe she should order a massage sometime soon.
As for you, there is no sign that you are back in control except for the desperate gasping for air.
You don’t know what to do with this newfound freedom, Romanoff´s hands are keeping you close to her, her heartbeat steady beneath your ear, but suddenly it’s all too much. The only thing you can do is let your ribcage expand and contract at a rapid pace, the pain grounds you as your bruised ribs sting you.
You no longer fight against Natasha’s grip, and there is no chance that you will either.
You are scared, they can both feel it, but it’s not like it was a moment ago. A moment ago you were fighting to stay alive, fighting because it is your instinct to do so, now, you have given up on even that.
Now, you are just scared, plain and simple.
Natasha rubs her hands up and down your back slowly, the fabric of her silken shirt bunches up with her elbows, and the roll of textile slides against your skin rhythmically. Your body tenses and relaxes at strange intervals, there is a mistrust between her motive and your tender flesh, yet you still crave comfort.
That is until you see Wanda shift from one foot to the other and Natasha’s hands move too close to your collar, you strain your body away from her palms.
Natasha huffs in slight annoyance and shifts her attention to her wife, “What was that?”.
She tries to keep her voice quiet enough to not startle you, but it’s a futile attempt and shortly after she has opened her mouth you are crawling out of her arms and back into your corner.
She can tell it pains you to move, the bruises along your arms and legs making it difficult to crawl in a fluid motion, and she sees you struggle your way under the lamp, but you manage. In the end, you swiftly slump back into the position you laid in when they first got here, the only difference being that you are too tired to move the rag back over your body.
Wanda merely shrugs, her perfectly fitted suit ruffling with the movement, “She was becoming aggressive.” To be truthful, your sudden outburst had taken Wanda by surprise, she didn’t even know what she was saying until it was too late.
Natasha sighs before standing and walking up to her wife, her pants now scuffed and dirtied. She brushed herself down, but the filth of this place wasn’t one easily removed. She gets a hold of her bearings and stands straight before she bothers with a disappointed reply.
“She was just scared, “ she shakes her head disapprovingly. They have lived long enough to see all types of people. And Natasha knows you're type, scared, abused, and skittish. A dog in the fighting ring, or a cat in this case.
Anything can make you snap and bare your teeth.
However, she also knows that taking your right to do so away, will only worsen your behavior in the long run. It never helps to use fear against someone who is already terrified.
Again, Wanda does nothing but shrugs and lifts her jacket to glance at her watch.
Playtime is over, they have places to be, and it saddens Wanda, but she knows they won’t be leaving here with a pretty girl like she had hoped.
It´s best for Natasha that she rips the band-aid off fast.
Wanda points over at your shaking body, “It’s clear Carol has her eyes on her. You know we can’t keep her.”
Wanda slumps in on herself while saying it, her shoulders lower and her back bows unnaturally, the seams of her suit stretching and pulling against the tight movement. After the words have been put out there, Natasha's face shifts and morphs until she settles for a relatively neutral, but rather grim expression. The right side of her lip lifted into a slight sneer; this was an unfortunate situation.
Natasha looks down at her hands, hands she had just held you in, there are specs of dried blood and dirt covering the expanse of her palms, she tightens her fist and takes a slow breath.
Carol is already enough of a handful. Taking her punching bag away from her will only make matters worse.
Leased pet or not, Carol owns you.
So, Natasha nods curtly, the back of her shirt rubbing uneasily against the nape of her neck.
“Well, let’s go then.” With no regard to the body at her heels she steps over the man and continues to strut down the hall with her wife following shortly behind. Someone will be by to clean him up and replace him with another pawn, it’s the way these places work.
And if she took a moment to listen in on your heartbeat one last time before they left, it wouldn’t hurt anyone that she kept that to herself.
It sounded wrong.
Whatever sympathy Natasha felt for you was quickly squashed down and ignored as she and Wanda returned to business as usual.
It’s for the best, a pet would only make them weak.
After the two mysterious women leave, you curl into yourself and a sob breaks through you before you can stop it.
Mom, I'm tired.
