I'll never understand the mentality of people that are so desperate to be a victim that they fake it or stage this performative bullshit. You only make yourself look desperate and mentally unstable. Most normal people do everything they can to try to avoid being a victim of violence or hate crimes 🤦

An Ohio man is facing charges after lying about how he suffered injuries, baselessly claiming he was the victim of an anti-Palestinian hate crime, local police said.
Hesham A. Ayyad, 20, of North Olmsted, Ohio, is charged with making false alarms, falsification, obstructing official business, domestic violence and assault, according to records from the Lorain County Jail, which show he was released on bond on Wednesday.
Ayyad was taken to the hospital on October 22 after telling officers he had been hit by a vehicle in a "racially motivated" attack, claiming that he was struck on Cook Road in Olmsted Township near the North Ridgeville border, North Ridgeville police told local media.
Ayyad's claims sparked a Muslim civil rights group to demand that police investigate the alleged attack, according to an October 23 statement by the Cleveland chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Cleveland)
As police investigated the incident, they discovered that Ayyad fabricated the ordeal, the North Ridgeville Police Department (NRPD) said in a statement.
Newsweek reached out via email and social media on Saturday to the NRPD.
It was unclear at the time of publication whether Hesham Ayyad had retained an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
Ayyad initially claimed, according to the CAIR-Cleveland statement, that he was walking home shortly after 4 p.m. on October 22 when a dark-colored SUV approached him. He said the driver rolled down the window and began yelling anti-Palestinian comments at him, including "Kill all Palestinians" and "Long live Israel," before swerving his car. The SUV driver allegedly struck Ayyad, then drove away while shouting, "Die!"
Faten Odeh, interim executive director for CAIR-Cleveland, urged authorities to monitor crimes related to the "rising Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism" in the statement issued a day after Ayyad was hospitalized.
The CAIR-Cleveland statement also included a photo of Ayyad appearing to be in the hospital while wearing a neck brace.
"We hope the North Ridgeville Police Department and the FBI will collect all the information they need to charge this individual with a hate crime," Odeh said in the October statement. "We should all feel safe to walk down the street to grab a bite to eat, go to the store, and go to school."
In response to Ayyad's charges, Odeh told Newsweek in an email that CAIR-Cleveland does not have any additional information on the case.
"We are currently seeking more information about this development," Odeh said. "Our understanding is the individual has secured his own legal counsel. We do not yet know anything more about the nature of the charges."
Investigators believe that Ayyad lied, saying that he was never struck by a vehicle nor subjected to racial slurs, but rather he was injured during a fight with his younger brother, who is also facing charges. Video surveillance from the scene confirms an altercation occurred, NRPD said.
His brother, 19-year-old Khalil A. Ayyad, of North Olmsted, was also arrested and charged with domestic violence and assault for his involvement in the fight.
Both brothers are scheduled to appear in Elyria Municipal Court on Tuesday.

The fact that Judaism is trending because of both the wave of bomb threats on synagogues and Bradley Cooper's Antisemitism Adventure (his huge fake prosthetic nose, and him basically stealing the story from a Jewish man) is so infuriating and so exhaustingly typical.
The fact that I see Judaism trending on Tumblr and immediately think "oh no. Something Bad is happening to us." We're never trending cause it's fucking good. I never get to be excited, it's just cold dread.
The fact that Antisemitism is getting worse everyday and the only ones who ever talk about it are other Jews. The fact that no one else fucking cares. The only ones who support us are other Jews. Even when gentiles talk about Nazis or white supremacists they don't want to help us. We're just their prop, the canary in the coal mine and the perfect victim.
The fact that everyone's uncomfortable with Jews still being here. Reminding them of things they'd rather forget.
The fact that it'd be easier for them if we were all dead. Then they could tell stories about our people, dressed in offensive caricatures, without us making a fuss.

When Wilson asks House to do things for him, like be present for his surgery or tell him he loves him, and he says no, House isn't saying no because he doesn't mean it, he's saying no because actions speak louder than words and everybody lies

i’m currently devouring either love is a shrine (or else, a scar) by jamesevanwilson (suhossineun) on AO3 and i feel like crying all the time because god this fic is sooooo good and- it’s one of the few fics that i’ve read that could easily have been canon- even if the precise events weren’t executed in the same manner, the whole dynamic of house and wilson’s relationship, the slow blossoming of genuine feelings, the denial, all the amber-related feelings that wilson is struggling with-
I haven’t finished it yet, but i know it’ll be put into my favs list, and believe me when i say this, the world needs to read this fic ASAP….please loves, go do yourself a favour and start reading

ALL CREDITS TO THE AUTHOR (if you see this, seriously i love you)
P.S: Wilson calling house a god does weird things to my heart

I hate when people are like "I already didn't like xyz so it's not difficult for me to boycott it unlike those loser customers that actually Liked the thing which I could never understand bc I was never a customer uwu" bc like. That literally isn't boycotting lmao. That is just Never Being A Customer In The First Place, which means nothing actually.
Boycotts are primarily about applying pressure (or completely making it impossible to operate) via financial/commercial/economic impact. AKA it's about money and capital.
If you already weren't spending money on a product/franchise/company, then you were already never part of their sales data, and you just doing nothing & making absolutely no change to your daily life and just continuing to not be part of their sales data as normal, has literally no material impact. You were already never a factor. The people who WERE customers & WERE part of the sales data & ARE withdrawing their money from those sales figures actually ARE making a material impact.
"Supporting" something isn't about vibes or thoughts or feelings or you telling your best friend how much you like a thing, "support" in a meaningful sense is specifically material. It is financial. Refusing to continue supporting something means taking the money you were previously spending on it & putting it elsewhere. If you were never spending money, you were never supporting it, and therefore it doesn't make any difference if you continue to not support it. Boycotting is something CUSTOMERS and CONSUMERS do.
SO STOP FUCKING BRAGGING ABOUT IT & STOP MAKING FUN OF PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY ARE BOYCOTTING FOR "EVER LIKING XYZ TO BEGIN WITH" & STOP SPREADING THIS FALSE IDEA OF HOW BOYCOTTING WORKS LMAO sorry for capslocking I remembered I was annoyed
I just hate this low-morale mean-spirited bullshit some people do in the notifs on boycotting info posts where they arbitrarily moralize about something they just don't understand so they can pat themselves on the back for doing literally literally nothing AND inadvertently spreading misinfo in the process. Be quiet. Go do something that matters. There are plenty of posts going around, including from Palestinians themselves, with lists of references for how to help Palestine & other similar causes for people currently in crisis, please please do something For Real instead of boasting online about your fandom superiority complex as if it means anything.
#txt#It's annoying but more than that it shows that you have no desire to understand how meaningful action actually WORKS#You are not DOING anything you literally have no right to try to demean ANYONE who actually IS.#anyway just saw a comment on a post that annoyed me. I'm normal again sorries.#Like I'm a comics fan but I HATE the MCU so I was never going out and watching MCU movies anyway#I can't “boycott” CA4 bc I was never a customer to begin with. That's just me not watching another movie like it's a regular day.#But I CAN spread information about the boycott in hopes that people who might be actual consumers will see it & decide to boycott#& I can do that without insulting them bc if they're boycotting then they are engaging with more material action than I am on that issue.#But like it's not even really the insulting I care about so much as the “bragging about doing nothing (& spreading an incorrect idea of how#boycotting works in the process)” that actually bothers me most#BE WARNED THIS IS NOT A WELL-THOUGHT OUT INFORMATIONAL POST OR ANYTHING#so I may have worded things dumb/awkwardly bc I'm frustrated and I didn't like Plan Out this post#I made it on the fly in 5 minutes after getting annoyed about something I have seen enough times to be frustrated about it#coincidentally this whole post also doubles as me explaining why piracy isn't a real crime#it's a fake crime made up by people who care about Theoretical Money They Could Maybe Have but has no basis in material reality

lost psych episode where they find the dead bodies of two middle aged men in some random ass motel, no easily discernible cause of death for either of them they're just laying there on the bed together. only one of them has any kind of ID and it's from fucking new jersey??? so with that and the rest of their room plus some statements from the motel workers shawn can only tell two things 1) these guys were definitely in a romantic relationship with each other and 2) they were some kind of road trip. neither of these things are helpful right now and nobody really suspects foul play but shawn has a weird feeling so they go to woody and he gives them some more info. they both have the same cause of death, morphine overdose, and the guy with the ID was actually suffering from late stage thymoma and was quite literally days away from dying of that, so he was most likely euthanized, but the other guy is weird. cause he wasn't suffering from any immediately life threatening diseases or anything. well, his liver had definitely taken a severe beating during his life, some form of addiction, and there was a significant amount of muscle removed from his leg at some point which would have made walking incredibly painful, but nothing immediate. so shawn goes back to them being a couple so like okay maybe the no-ID guy euthanized his partner and then killed himself? but that's so dramatic, nobody really thinks that kind of stuff happens in real life, and there's still something bothering shawn about this but they let it go. and then shawn remembers like five months ago hearing about this crazy doctor who had gone to jail for driving a car through his boss' house, was released for some reason, and then destroyed the plumbing in the hospital he worked at so he was going to go back to jail, but then died in a fire of some abandoned building. and when shawn looks up that story it's the dude without an ID which means this crazy ass man faked his death only to kill himself and his partner five months later — oh wait he would've gone to jail he wouldn't be with his partner when he died that's why he faked his death he wanted to be with his partner — so he makes some calls to the hospital this guy worked at and sure enough the administrator there tells him in an incredibly annoyed voice that yes James Wilson used to work here before he got cancer and his "best friend" died in a fire, yes he left town pretty much immediately after his "best friend's" funeral oh he's not actually dead? that is incredibly shocking thank you. shawn can't believe this guy is so calm about this because what the fuck. what the fuck was wrong with these two old men why did they decided to kill themselves here?? and the administrator is just like "well Santa Barbara is the murder capital of the US. they probably thought it'd be funny." and hangs up. credits roll.

JS: …I murdered the American accent. […] At one point we were gonna make [Chase] English, and, uh, I'll never forget Hugh's face at the read-through… I don't know if I was murdering that accent as well, or he didn't want to hear it because he was doing an American. It was one or the other.
i am deeply and intentionally uninterested in actors and that sort of meta knowledge of the shows i watch, but, it is very funny to me that chase is australian specifically because jesse spencer could not fake an american or british accent. because that is so funny. if i were hugh laurie i would have slapped him

i'm sorry because this might seem like an extreme comparison (TW for mentioning of shootings ahead) but this is just like the racial disparity that inevitably crops up every time there's a mass shooting in america

when it's a non-white person, it's "a terrible crime committed by a terrible person", but when it's a white person suddenly it's a sad story about how they cracked under pressure and untreated mental health problems
need I remind you that Cait is not one of those stories of someone genuinely acting outside of themselves during a mental health crisis. She tries to paint it as such in her "apology", but even that "apology" contradicts her actions and blatantly lies about the timeline of events.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This wasn't something that started and happened suddenly in December, this was something she's been doing routinely for the past several months, if not longer. it wasn't a "one time mistake", it was a series of calculated and targeted moves done by a white person who felt so insecure and threatened by POC authors existing around her that she felt the need to directly sabotage them multiple times.
It wasn't "cracking under pressure". It was racism and sabotage. Full stop.
If we're gonna talk about the overwhelming pressure that authors face, let's talk about the authors who were victims of Cait Corrain and other people like her - authors who have to go above and beyond to get even a shred of the recognition and opportunities that people like Cait get handed to them, so easily that they don't even seem to consider the consequences of what they may lose if they get caught for committing hate crimes; victims who the press will conveniently hyperfocus on and use to distract from the real perpetrator if it means not acknowledging racism.
We damn well shouldn't let Cait and the press around her be able to just sweep this under the rug as a "one time mistake". It wasn't a mistake. It wasn't an accident. It was fully intentional and willing. It was - and is - racism in an industry that still refuses to acknowledge it and correct it.
