I work at a pharmacy right

today someone came up wearing a “they/them” pronoun pin

i picked up their rx (prescription) and asked them “hey do you have an alternative name you prefer?”

they immediately lit up and thanked me for asking and shared with me their new name

(super easy to add a “preferred” name and make note of pronouns on our end so no biggy whatsoever)

I let them know I added it to our system for future rxs

they walked away with their rx with the biggest smile on their face

allyship is so simple. the smallest things can make a world of a difference.

and if you’re afraid of coming out because of how others will respond, that’s totally understandable. but i promise you, there’s so many people who will accept you and do what they can to make you feel comfortable.

anyway just thought I’d share this little piece of joy today :)

If we wanna be real Will has rational reactions to things but no interest in girls and Mike has irrational reactions to things with 0 explanation and a girlfriend.

Bc the people who said the S3 fight was only about Will not wanting to grow up after trauma could have been right. But people don't even have an ANSWER for Mike.

Even if it's probably not, at least Will HAS alternate explanations with a few exceptions only in lines he himself says in reference to his own feelings (4x05, 4x08).

If we're being real, Mike acts gay with 0 alternate explanations and nothing anyone can come up with when asked but he has a girlfriend so people think he's straight and gonna mary her. And that's the truth.

one thing that pisses me off about all the new hate coming at bucktommy because of the dinner scene is that, while also being infantilizing it feels like such a misunderstanding of Buck's character. like we all joke that Buck knows a lot of random stuff but as someone who also has a lot of random trivia I can tell you that he doesn't just know stuff, he learns stuff. so when you say that Buck was being preyed on or that he didn't understand the implications of what he was saying, you're not just babying him, you're also saying that in his many years being very sexually active he never once either experimented with or researched sex and kink, and that once he had his bi awakening he didn't fall into an internet rabbit hole of queer history, different orientations and kinks, and other fun sex stuff.

Buck is and always has been very sexually active and sex positive, he has a fucking ring cutter in his kitchen for christ's sake. he knows about sex, he knows about kink, and he knew exactly what he and Tommy were saying, and to say that he didn't means you don't actually like or understand Buck as a character.

It's always, like, mildly annoying when people see a het trans couple and go "all that work just to be straight?" like... one, you don't know if they're straight and two, trans people don't owe you a queer sexuality to "make up" for the fact we're trans. Transhet people aren't a subtype of trans people, they're members of the trans community, and the queer one if they so desire!

I kind of overlooked this for a very long time admittedly, as I assume a lot of people did because I rarely appear to see this discussed in depth minus one, but like. I know this is an Andrew Garfield quote, but the actual prospect of David being fifteen feet in the closet makes so much sense. He is an incredibly notable figure in the universe of DRDT, his whole character is basically built upon that fact. Something else that's pretty obvious is that David is someone who cares a lot about how he's perceived by others. He works hard to make himself as palatable and uncontroversial as possible to other people. It's no wonder that he would hide and/or sugarcoat his attraction to men when describing his sexuality to the public, or even begin repressing it himself. And not only that, but it makes the inappropriate way he responded to Nico being forcefully outed make so much more sense

tips on staying safe at your local pride parade

make sure you have the following items:

- sunscreen

- water

- first aid kit

- shoes you can run in

- face mask

- hand sanitizer

if you see anti-queer protests, don’t engage.

keep your phone charged. bring a battery pack if possible.

utilize the buddy system. don’t go to pride alone.

establish a rendezvous point in case of emergency and you are separated from your group.

share your plans and where you are throughout the day with a friend who isn’t attending.

keep a piece of paper with emergency contacts on you.

carry cash, but make sure it’s kept in a very secure location.

pride is so much fun. but you have to be sure you’re staying safe and prepared in case of emergency. stay safe out there friends 🧡
