How Empowerment in Mentorship Means Listening Before Empowering
Empowerment in mentorship means listening first. Discover the importance of this step in coaching and mentorship. #Mentorship #Coaching #Leadership #ListeningSkills
The Essential First Step in Effective Coaching and Mentorship My natural response is often, “Let’s skip to empowerment in mentorship and listen later!” As an extrovert and an 8 on the Enneagram (the Challenger), listening has never been my strong suit. Truth be told, every disciplinary moment and performance review throughout my entire life and leadership journey has always included some form of…

I don’t have a lot of time, but wanted to get a few thoughts in.
I am sitting in such PROFOUND gratitude for this group that I am a part of.  It’s a group of people who are learning the art of coaching through using eneagram.  In this space, I find myself in awe of the work these people are doing.  SUPPORTED and encouraged and SEEN.  Profound learning from others--every type just so happens to be represented (that is a phenomenon in and of itself).  It feels so personal.  Leighah has taken me under her wing and we will begin meeting.  I feel so blessed and like I am FINALLY on the right path.  In reality, I know I’ve always been on the path--we learn as much, if not more from our failures...but I finally feel like the teachers/mentors that I’ve been searching for are here.  Like I am finally on the cusp of being IN my purpose.  Actually not even on the cusp, I am in my purpose.  I am being.  I love this life.  As hard as it is at times, as lonely as I feel, as overwhelmed as I feel and disconnected at times...this is it.  I also feel such overwhelming gratitude and happiness and contentment at times.  These days, moment to moment, this is it.  Living.
It’s the grabbing brunch with a friend.  Getting a quick 15 minute walk in or sometimes maybe an hour.  IT’s the interaction with a customer.  Laughing about a shared experience.  Crying through a shared experience.  Seeing someone in their joy. And their pain.  A hug.  Seeing a friend in their element.  Witnessing the pride when they’ve accomplished something hard.  Knowing that you have people who SEE you and have your back.  Trusting.  Having faith that everything that happens is happening FOR me, not to me.
Gratitude.

Enneagram Therapy - Holistico
Benefits of Enneagram Therapy
Enneagram therapy is a practice of using enneagram training to help patients and clients in their personal growth. It is often used to help therapists, practitioners, and individuals explore the spiritual way of life as well as uncover one's more profound gifts. During an enneagram therapy session, practitioners will guide their clients through different aspects of the enneagram theory so that they can gain insight into their basic nature. This practice helps those who are open to it develop a greater understanding of themselves, which leads to personal growth and spiritual awakening.
Enneagram Therapy is a spiritual healing therapy that can provide an effective understanding of emotional habits. Through Enneagram activity, individuals can take a personality test to gain valuable insight into their life experiences and motivations. Therapists often use this, in order to help their clients to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, as well as how they interact with others in spiritual and emotional ways.
Tumblr media
Therapists consider the two main types, which are instinctive and thinking when helping their clients to gain a better understanding of themselves. During enneagram therapy, the therapist will guide the client through self-discovery and help them understand themselves better. Guidelines and limits are set by both parties as boundaries must be respected in order for effective treatment to take place. As therapists, it’s important that we show respect for our clients by listening attentively and honoring their choices when providing guidance or support. We should also provide clear expectations for our clients so they know what’s expected from them during therapy sessions.
Enneagram therapy is a phenomenal type of therapy where therapists help clients to discover their own unique enneagram type, which can be done through a discovery session. Using the enneagram instance, therapists are able to truly help their clients understand themselves on a deeper level. It is amazing to see how an individual's life can change after they have identified their certain type with guidance from an enneagram therapist.
Learning about Enneagram therapy can be an incredibly valuable resource for anyone who wants to uncover more about their life experiences and find a greater purpose in living. Holistico provides you with the Best therapist in your nearby area. Click Here.

Phoebe Fischer, however, is a diehard Oilers fan, and was just slightly disappointed when her daughter turned out to start rooting for the Maple Leafs.
— ❥ A few months after she was diagnosed with autism, Raven wound up having to move classes at school, as her teacher beginning to give her accommodations because she now had an official diagnosis caused most of the other children in her class to pick on her on an almost daily basis.
— ❥ At five foot four, Raven is still three inches shorter than Cole Caufield, the shortest current player in the NHL. Plenty of her friends say this is proof that her nickname Tiny fits perfectly, but she insists that they’re all just giants.
— ❥ Ever since gaining popularity with NHL fans, Raven has made a habit of making a load of homemade bracelets before every game she reports at and handing them out to female fans beforehand. She wants to help foster a better sense of community for female fans, knowing how much animosity young women can face from male fans when trying to get into a sport.
— ❥ She has also become an outspoken advocate for more inclusivity within the league, as well as queer and disability rights and greater education and support for those with disabilities and mental illnesses. She hasn’t always stayed out of trouble with the NHL bigwigs for some of the statements she’s made, but she’s never backed down and she doesn’t plan on stopping - besides, she has a great group at SportsNet always ready to support her, as well as a pretty good-sized group of tall hockey men who are used to throwing punches willing to fight back against anyone who tries to hurt her.

Hey 9wing!! Hello and I hope you're doing well <3
I've seen a couple of your posts mentioning this sort of sentiment and now I'm genuinely asking with curiosity; how would one think that Kaylor is a romantic love story?
No doubt, the songs are amazing masterpieces, the long-term perseverance is admirable and there are certainly many aspects of Kaylor that are poetic and remind me of the magic of 'soulmates,' whether that is practically real or not
However, even as a third party observer who has no stakes in this, I find it bleak and tiring sometimes
Constant backlash and scrutiny from the media, the people and most often your own fans; having to communicate in cryptic language; having to engage in unpleasant PR stunts; having to hide a central part of yourself just to survive in this world; not having the liberty to be yourself and love whomever you love loudly and proudly; being constantly misunderstood by a large fraction of the world; being loved but not seen; living in uncertainty about your own rights and freedom when the political climate's so unstable
I understand that life is not without problems and sometimes you have to do what you have to do with whatever choices are at your disposal. And these two will always have my support, and I make sure to respect my own mental health and step away from this site of the internet when things get too much
But how would one see the beauty in this? The light in the darkness? I would love to know and hear your and other's perspectives and what keeps you optimistic despite it all. Thank you and good day
i would love to hear from others!
i think that everyone will have their own definitions of beauty or romance, so i understand where you are coming from, and your impressions are valid for you!
for me, there are aspects of their story that i just cannot find in other places in the world, and it’s always been something that brings me opportunities reflect on my own life and life philosophy.
i think that there is something to be said for the amount of unconditional love that they show one another that appears when picking haven for one another at the risk of their reputations. i recognize that it probably doesn’t look that way for many people but from my perspective, it’s how i see it. there is something singularly authentic about it to me. as a enneagram type 9 (where my username comes from), i gravitate to the concept of holy love like a moth to a flame, and the dynamic of seeing taylor push her lovers away all her life and then meeting karlie and being inspired by karlie but still fighting doubt and ultimately trying to push her away only for karlie to vehemently refuse to leave is just.. something that really speaks to me. it sort of embodies the human struggle not just to give love but to accept love. i’m not sure if i’m explaining it well but there is so much depth to the love that she writes about in these albums, separate from the heavy external factors that have shaped their story.
but for me, those external factors only work to heighten my interest and appreciation for their journey. in my career i’ve done a lot of executive coaching work and study in leadership theory and i find the study of defining moments (sometimes called crucible moments) incredibly interesting and for taylor and karlie, at the top of their game, the stakes could not be higher and their navigation of everything is very interesting to me.
and i think that the struggle is a part of the beauty because i don’t always find easy things beautiful, and by that i don’t mean that pain is beauty in some voyeuristic way but that success after pain feels more spectacular than success without struggle.
if you are a fan of literature or philosophy, i would recommend the seminal work of junichiro tanizaki called “in praise of shadows” — there’s a fairly well known concept in japan called wabi-sabi which is the idea that true beauty is found in the transient and the fleeting. that a falling cherry blossom is more beautiful than a tree in full bloom, or that cracks in pottery ought be to celebrated (there a tradition in japan of fixing cracks in ceramics with gold called kintsugi). tanizaki’s writing is very formative to this concept and it’s something that has giving me a heightened appreciation for things with complication and age.

Often don't show up unless dragged into couples therapy
What they think they need
How to wiggle their way out of therapy ASAP.
How to charm the therapist so they don't have to talk about hard things.
How to maximize fun and enjoyment in life.
What they actually need
How to see that their avoidance of limits itself is what's actually keeping them trapped.
How to see order, routines, and commitments as actually making enjoyment possible.
How to recognize negative feelings actually make life richer.
Enneagram Type 8 (The Challenger)
Often don't show up unless in couples therapy
What they think they need
Nothing. They're fine. Clearly the other person is the problem.
What they actually need
How to see their actual impact on their life, work, and relationships.
How to see their avoidance of weakness/vulnerability is what's creating situations where they're actually powerless (e.g., a breakup).
How to allow themselves to be the one protected and comforted.
Enneagram Type 9 (The Peacemaker)
What they think they need
How to deal with relationship stress.
How to deal with work stress - procrastination, not implementing their goals.
It's too much work to think about myself and what I need. I just don't like what's happening now.
What they actually need
How to reconnect with and befriend their anger as a source of energy.
How to individuate themselves from others instead of merging.
How to take the next right step to identify and push forward their own agendas.

How to Treat Your Friends and Family Depending on Their Enneagram Number
Tumblr media

I was talking to my soon-to-be sister-in-law (henceforth STB SIL)
she brought up a woman I went to high school with, saying that I might find her interesting given her current profession
she proceeded to show me her (shudder) LinkedIn profile
apparently she works as a ~certified~ enneagram expert who coaches people to DevELoP THeiR PoTenTiAL
her profile was the ghastly corporate bullshit you always find on that wicked website, but with an added icing of enneagram bullshit on top of it
now I was in a difficult position
how can I convey to my STB SIL that my interest for personality types is like....... deeper than that — but without sounding like a total douche?
I kept thinking: girl my hyperfixation on personality types lead me to read Kant, do you hear what I'm saying?
I read goddamn Schopenhauer to deepen my philosophical understanding of consciousness and you're showing me the LinkedIn meditations of someone who was already criminally insipid in high school and who has clearly not found an interesting thing to say along the way
I did not say that out loud because I know how that sounds
but do you see my problem though, it's tough for me out there

CHARACTER CHRONICLES - Ilian Alonso
welcome to the CHARACTER CHRONICLES where you get to read the entire backstory of my characters so you have a better understanding of them.
read the series!
Tumblr media
FILE ONE... ILIAN ALONSO
Name: Ilian Alonso
Nicknames: Ili, Ils
Driver number: #13, was #14 in early karting days
Drives for: Hitech Grand Prix F2 team along with Paul Aron under the Spanish Flag.
MORE LOADING...
Born into the Torres family of Spain on December 14 of 2005, ILIAN ALONSO was introduced into racing at an early age. Her birth parents, ALEJANDRO TORRES and ROSA GOMEZ had deep connections in the street racing scene of Barcelona. Due to this, Ilian was very interested in being a racing driver, much like her uncle, FERNANDO ALONSO. Her parents decided to put her into the local karting school, where her interest developed. At this time, the Torres's were struggling financially and pulled Ilian out of the sport. Her aunt and uncle, Y/N ALONSO and FERNANDO ALONSO, found out about her interest in the sport, and convinced her parents to let them fund her karting. Her parents pushed Ilian to be the best driver possible and expected little to no mistakes because of the fact that they were not paying for her. This grew into neglect and abusive relations between the child and her parents. Y/n, her aunt, caught wind of this behavior and fought for custody rights, ultimately adopting Ilian in the end. The young driver changed her last name to Alonso, dropping her connect to the Torres’s as soon as the adoption was approved. Ilian considers Y/n and Fernando her parents, but she calls them Tia and Tio, as she was 12 when she was adopted and found it weird to change so late in her life.

- There is not a single Sigrid or CHVRCHES song that Aria doesn't relate to - Very much a "leave before get left" approach to life - Would absolutely carry vodka in a waterbottle, and what of it - Honestly takes pride in how aloof and guarded she is. Kind of treats it as a game sometimes, finding amusement in people trying to "figure her out" - yet still desperately wants someone to understand her even though she self sabotages so much they eventually get tired of her games - expect many late night texts if you're friends w/ her a;sdgja - so. much. anger

- Drinking buddies - Ex's (romantic or platonic!) - Confidants - Childhood friends (that likely lost touch) - Friends she used to live with (would be right after high school, a group of friends moved in together and had a huge falling out, which was the spark for Aria to pack up and move to Denver) - Found Family vibes !!!!!! - And really anything else!
B I O G R A P H Y:
( TW: Abandonment, Emotional abuse, Grooming, Suicidal ideation/attempt )
TLDR: Aria was a competitive figure skater and an olympic hopeful. However, between the pressure her mother placed on her, the muddied boundaries between her and her coach, the fall right before the Olympic trials was merely the last straw that broke the camel's back. She found Denver to be an escape from all of the pressure and expectation.
Aria used to joke that she learned how to ice skate before she learned how to walk. As far back as she could remember, prodigy, a natural, Olympic hopeful were all labels orbiting around her. Her entire world revolved around the ice. When she wasn't actively competing, she was rigorously training. Sleep was the only break she'd get from skating, and she'd still be perfecting every technique in her dreams. Before long, several competitions in, she established a reputation for herself for her relentless precision, almost feeling more machine than human. And with her growing success, she began to realize she'd only hear from her father, who left before Aria could form any meaningful memories of him, when she won something. Yet no matter how many competitions she finished first in, or how exceptional her score was, there was always something to criticize. At least, that was how she rationalized her mother screaming and shouting behind closed doors, ridiculing and degrading her for every tiny mistake, even ones that the judges themselves didn't even seem to notice.
Her coach, on the other hand, couldn't cease to sing her praises. Always asking her to demonstrate for the others, being the first to teach her more advanced techniques, and expressing more pride than she ever had felt from her mother. Yet even with the pedestal he put her on, she felt like he was the only one who still treated her like a person. He understood things at home were difficult, an understatement at best, and he would lend an ear to any vents she needed to get off her chest. In time, he trusted her with his own burdens and troubles at home. Conflicts with his wife, excusing and problem solving ways to hide his own infidelity, and more. None of which he should have looked for support from a child. Even as boundaries started to waver, Aria couldn't comprehend the red flags. Not only was she a child, but one who lacked any sense of comfort or nurture from the one who was supposed to love her the most in the entire world. He made her feel important. As though she had a place in the world. As though she mattered.
Her peers training alongside her began to be more perceptive to his favoritism. Some took it out on Aria herself, whereas others were more confused and occasionally concerned. Unbeknownst to Aria, her coach shifted in his treatment towards her. At least, publicly. Calling her on each mistakes loud enough for people on the other side of the country to hear, with so much contempt that she couldn't help but wonder at times if he and her mother exchanged notes on how to cut her down most efficiently. Yet, whenever they were alone, his sweet, caring persona would be back. He'd even explain to her that the others didn't understand, and he couldn't have them get the wrong idea. She bought the excuse, even as it formed a strange pit in her stomach - tying into knots as it felt like she was a secret. Still, she just reminded herself that he didn't really mean it every time he made her feel like the dirt under his shoe that he was trying to scrape off anytime they were in the presence of others.
At fifteen, she could start to see a light at the end of the tunnel, after putting her blood sweat and tears into training. The Olympic trials were right around the corner, and she felt more confident than ever. Her coach even was easing up on her. She finally felt like she was doing something right. However, during practice, after hours and hours of overexerting herself, she missed her landing, her ankle bending in a way she never knew it could before, and let out a harrowing yelp. And for as much pain as she was in, she wouldn't be able to recall it if she tried to retell the story present day - the only pain she could remember was every cruel word that felt like spears piercing through her from her coach. After a while, his voice became muffled - in fact, everything did… it was like she had slipped underwater and she was just hearing indistinguishable shouts from above the surface. Until finally, she couldn't take it anymore, and she took off her skates, and stormed out - or as best as she could with a sprained ankle, more so hopping than anything.
When she got outside, she had no incline as to where she wanted to go, just anywhere but there. And the adrenaline coursing through her veins failed to remember the rink leading directly to a busy intersection. Was she so out of it that she couldn't perceive the cars zipping down the road? Or did she just not care? Either way, she woke up to fluorescent overhead lights, persistent beeping of monitors, and a nurse informing her that she was lucky to be alive. The entire duration of the time she was in casts, her mother could hardly stand to look at her. As if she was the one who worked so hard and dedicated her entire life to this one dream that shattered along with the bones in her body. Aria was lost… Knowing it'd be a miracle if she ever got herself to skate again, and impossible to ever perform as well as she had before, she didn't know who she was anymore.
She started staying out late, going to any party she could find only to go to school hungover having slept barely an hour. Teachers noticed her shift and were understandably concerned. But no matter how many times the counselors would try to get through to her, she was intent on her mission to self destruct. After spending so much of her life maintaining a perfect image to satisfy those who didn't know the meaning of the word, it felt liberating to let herself fall apart for everyone to see.
Having no interest in continuing her education to college, Aria moved in with a few friends and lived paycheck to paycheck with any minimum wage jobs they could find. Yet drama ensued, as she was beginning to realize it inevitably did wherever she seemed to go. With the money she saved, she moved out and ventured in search of a place where no one knew her and there were no ghosts from her past, finding that haven in Denver, Colorado when she was twenty three.

Task #001 — Personality
MBTI: ENFJ-A (The Protagonist)
People with the ENFJ personality type (Protagonists) feel called to serve a greater purpose in life. Thoughtful and idealistic, ENFJs strive to have a positive impact on other people and the world around them. These personalities rarely shy away from an opportunity to do the right thing, even when doing so is far from easy. ENFJs are born leaders, which explains why these personalities can be found among many notable politicians, coaches, and teachers. Their passion and charisma allow them to inspire others not just in their careers but in every arena of their lives, including their relationships. Few things bring people with the ENFJ personality type a deeper sense of joy and fulfillment than guiding friends and loved ones to grow into their best selves.
Enneagram: One
Ones are defined by their belief that everything must be in order, and by their feeling that they must always be "right." They show great commitment and determination to improve conditions that they find need improvement, and they are forward in encouraging others to improve their performance, too. At their core, Ones are the “model children” of the Enneagram world—dutiful, responsible and perfection-seeking. At the same time, they are idealists, in the sense that they believe they know exactly how to perfect the world and they wonder why others do not see it. Many Ones proselytize about the one true set of rules; the one true course of action; or how things "ought" to be. They are often drawn to positions of teaching, advocacy or inspirational leadership where they can share their vision and seek to reform the world. As teachers, they are creative, exemplary and motivating.
Four Temperaments: Sanguine
The sanguine personality is characterized by a cheerful disposition, lively energy, and a generally positive and optimistic outlook on life. Sanguine individuals tend to be highly social, extroverted, and enthusiastic, often possessing a contagious sense of humor that makes them the life of the party. They are usually creative, imaginative, and tend to be very entertaining. Sanguine individuals are also spontaneous and can be seen as impulsive at times. They have a tendency to live in the moment, which often leads to them being adaptable and flexible in different situations. They tend to be more interested in the present than in future plans or consequences. This trait, however, can also lead to difficulty in maintaining focus, staying organized, and following through on tasks. Moreover, sanguine people are often charismatic and are able to influence and inspire others with their vibrant energy and contagious enthusiasm. Their natural ability to create and maintain relationships often leads to a large network of friends and acquaintances. On the flip side, the sanguine temperament may lack depth in the analysis of situations and can sometimes take things too lightly, even when seriousness is required. This can lead to a tendency towards forgetfulness and disorganization. Their desire for social acceptance and fear of rejection can also make them overly sensitive to criticism. Overall, sanguine individuals are warm-hearted, buoyant, and carefree, bringing lightness and joy to their environments and interactions. Despite their potential challenges, they have a unique ability to rebound from disappointments with their resilient optimism.
The Allignment System: Lawful Good
A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. Lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.
Love Language: Quality Time
Your Love Tank overflows with Quality Time. You prize undivided attention from others. Spending meaningful and uninterrupted time together profoundly impacts your emotional world. Whether it’s in deep conversations or sharing experiences together with a loved one who is fully present and engaged, Quality Time conveys that you are a top priority and deeply loved.
Zodiac Sign: Virgo
Virgos are always paying attention to the smallest details and their deep sense of humanity makes them one of the most careful signs of the zodiac. Their methodical approach to life ensures that nothing is left to chance, and although they are often tender, their heart might be closed for the outer world. This is a sign often misunderstood, not because they lack the ability to express, but because they won’t accept their feelings as valid, true, or even relevant when opposed to reason. The symbolism behind the name speaks well of their nature, born with a feeling they are experiencing everything for the first time.

Task #001 — Personality
MBTI: ENFJ-T (The Protagonist)
Enneagram: Four
Fours are defined by their belief that they are different from other people, and by their feelings of envy for what others have. Fours have the sense that something is missing from their lives, and they worry that they will never have the happiness that other people experience. At their core, Fours feel they are fundamentally flawed and will never be able to be truly understood by other people. At the same time, they passionately long for the type of deep connection that will make them feel whole and accepted. Many Fours romanticize and idealize their relationships, hoping that each new connection will be the one that finally makes them feel understood and appreciated.
Four Temperaments: Melancholic
The melancholic temperament, is often characterized by deep thoughts, introspection, and a propensity for reflection. A person with a melancholic temperament is typically introverted, detail-oriented, and analytical, often displaying an inclination toward philosophical or intellectual pursuits. Melancholics value order, consistency, and perfection. They are driven by a strong sense of right and wrong and have high personal standards. While this can make them incredibly dedicated, it can also lead to self-criticism or perceived inadequacy when they fall short of their own expectations. Melancholics tend to form deep, meaningful relationships, cherishing a few close bonds rather than seeking broad social networks. They are typically sensitive and empathetic, often going to great lengths to understand and support those close to them. Their introspective nature can lead to a predilection for solitude, and they often need time alone to recharge. They are known for their introspective and often creative minds, as their propensity for deep thought can inspire beautiful pieces of art, literature, and other forms of expression. On the downside, melancholics can struggle with a tendency towards pessimism, and they may be prone to feelings of sadness, worry, or even depression. They can get caught up in overanalyzing situations, which can lead to indecision or inaction. They might also struggle to adapt to new environments, preferring to stick to what they know and are comfortable with. Despite these challenges, when in balance, melancholics can contribute enormously to society, especially in roles that require thoughtful analysis, attention to detail, or deep empathy. They are the planners, the thinkers, and the caretakers, often bringing a level of depth and introspection that can deeply enrich the lives of those around them.
Love Language: Words of Affirmation
Your Love Tank overflows with Words of Affirmation. Words hold a special power for you in building connections. You thrive on hearing kind and encouraging verbal expressions that come from the heart. They quickly fill up your Love Tank. Words of Affirmation encourage you and make you feel deeply valued and connected.
Zodiac Sign: Libra
People born under the sign of Libra are peaceful, fair, and they hate being alone. Partnership is very important for them, seeking someone with the ability to be the mirror to themselves. These individuals are fascinated by balance and symmetry, they are in a constant chase for justice and equality, realizing through life that the only thing that should be truly important to themselves in their own inner core of personality. This is someone ready to do nearly anything to avoid conflict, keeping the peace whenever possible
