Dos and Don’ts in the Art of Creating an Effective Job Post
A well-written job posting can have a huge impact on attracting top talent. It’s crucial to become an expert at crafting job advertisements whether you work as a recruiter, HR specialist, or business owner. We’ll go over the dos and don’ts of creating job postings that attract applicants and resonate with candidates in this tutorial.
1. Start with a Clear and Engaging Title
Dos
Include Relevant Keywords: Add Useful Keywords Include keywords particular to the industry that are connected to the job function, location, and necessary abilities. For instance, if you’re hiring a software developer in Mohali, consider a title like “Senior Software Engineer (Mohali) — Join Our Growing Team.”
Highlight Benefits: Mention any special benefits, such chances for professional growth, remote work, or flexible work schedules.
Don’ts:
Avoid using jargon. Avoid using acronyms or internal language that candidates might not comprehend.
Don’t Read Generic Titles: Slogans such as “Job Opening” are not going to draw in readers. Be precise and evocative.

2. Write a Catchy Job Description:
Dos
Be Particular: Give a clear description of the duties, requirements, and standards for the position.
Employ bullet points: Divide the content into readable bullet points.
Display Your Company’s Culture: Give a brief summary of the work environment, mission, and values of your organization.
Don’ts:
Get Lost in the Details Don’t be too long. Steer clear of long paragraphs.
Leave Out Salary Information: Openness is important. Bring up your pay or range of pay.
3. Emphasize Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Dos:
Make a list of must-haves: Put the most important credentials first (degree, experience, certifications, etc.).
Indicate Your Soft Skills: Make reference to adaptation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Add Prospects for Growth: Talk about possible career advancement within the company, if appropriate.
Don’ts
Avoid Ambiguous Requirements: Steer clear of generalizations like “good communication skills.”
Exaggerated Credentials: Regarding what is actually required, be practical.
4. The CTA (Call to Action)
Dos:
Motivate Action: Make use of a compelling CTA, like “Join Our Team” or “Apply Now.”
Give application guidelines. Indicate the application process (online form, email, etc.) for candidates.
Don’ts
Ignore the call to action Candidates shouldn’t be left wondering what to do next.
5. SEO optimization
Dos:
Positioning of Keywords: Throughout the post, organically incorporate pertinent keywords.
Use location-specific keywords (such as city and state) in your local SEO to draw in local talent.
Don’ts
Prevent stuffing the post with too many keywords.
Disregard mobile optimization Make sure the job post is optimized for mobile devices.
Your job ad serves as both a marketing tool for your company and a tool for selecting the best applicant. Mention the honors, values, and accomplishments of your business. edited 22/02/2024 - my mum helped me raise the match goal from £100 to £200
edited again 22/02/2024 - I met and exceeded my goal! Donations are still very welcome because I think it's really impactful to show our collective donations, I will close this on the 27th when I am paid and can make my donation
Idea credit goes to @ibtisams and I was inspired by @stuckinapril and @geekydragon !
I am doing a donation match!
I will match every pound donated, from now until next week, up to £200! I will donate £50 regardless of the outcome.
-
1. Donate any amount you can to one of the places below:
UNRWA | Palestine children's relief fund | esims (link is a how to guide!) | Operation olive branch (any family that resonates with you)
2. Send me proof/receipt showing the date and amount, cross out any other information you wish
(currency does not matter, I will convert it and donate the equivalent in GBP)
3. I will update in the reblogs how much has been donated so far, and will make my matched donation on the 27th of February (when I get paid the money I plan to donate)
I'm currently planning on splitting my donation across the above sources, but I will donate £200 total.
-
If we meet the match goal we will raise £400 for people who desperately need it right now! It's easy to feel a small donation doesn't help, so hopefully this is a way to illustrate how it all does really add up.
Any amount helps, if you have £1 to spare please do, but if you can donate more I urge you to
If you have nothing to spare, please reblog and do your daily click

Sitis looks disbelieving as she says, "…No. God wouldn't!" Crowley gives an exaggerated frown and replies, "Are you sure?"
Sitis looks horrified and says, "But they've done nothing! They're innocent!" Crowley nods impassively: "So were the goats." Sitis stares at him in horror.
In the cellar, Aziraphale looks back over his shoulder, seeming offended. "God's [side], of course!" Crowley reclines, raising his eyebrows and nodding. "Oh, really. Same God that wants me to whack the kids?"
Aziraphale looks very uncertain, and slowly says, "…Yes. But…" Crowley grins slowly, gesturing to Aziraphale and saying, "That's just how it started for me."
Back in the house, Sitis looks devastated and desperate. "If my children are dead, then… I will curse God, and—"
Crowley swings abruptly around the doorframe and rushes over to interrupt Sitis. "WHOA! That never ends well."
At the cliff's edge overlooking the sea, Aziraphale looks on the verge of tears but determined. "Well. I'm ready to go." Crowley asks: "Go where?" Aziraphale swallows. "To hell."
Crowley sits down on the rock and says, "I'm not taking you to hell, Angel." Aziraphale looks over at him, his tearful expression turning confused. "Why not?" Crowley replies mildly, "Well, I don't think you'd like it."
While this is vague both in Rachel's responses (as always) and the actual specific timeline, considering this is the final 'arc' and most of Rachel's arcs rarely go any longer than 12-15 episodes, I have the sneaking suspicion she's going to try to wrap this up by March/April. That's just a prediction, mind you, it could just as well go on throughout the entire year of 2024.
That said, it's wild to see it finally confirmed, like a weight has finally been lifted of our shoulders. Many of us have been speculating on it for a while now that LO would undoubtedly get dragged out as it's Webtoon's golden goose and clearly Rachel's lifeline to the industry.
Lore Olympus has been a part of my life since 2019, and an even larger part of it in the last year and a half when I joined the critical community. It's going to be weird to live in a world where LO just doesn't update.
Of course, as mentioned in the article, there's still the matter of the physical books which are still FAR behind the webtoon version, and the TV show which they swear is still happening (but we all know it's not happening lmao).
So I don't think this will be the end of WT milking it for all its worth, but I am interested to see what happens to WT when they don't have their golden goose on a leash and chain anymore. They've sunk so much money and priority ad space into LO that even other Originals creators can't stand the comic due to how much its undercut their own opportunities. I'm hoping this will be a wake-up call to WT to give more attention to their series that are struggling and deserve to be seen, rather than focus all of their attention into one series that's barely got a pulse to speak of.
Of course, I'm sure people are wondering, "What about the fandom communities? What about antiLO/ULO?"
Listen, this isn't the first fandom I've taken part in, though it's certainly the one I've been the most directly active in with the essays I write and the stuff I do through Rekindled.
But if being in fandoms has taught me anything, it's that it doesn't matter how long a series has been gone. If there are people who still love it - or love to hate it - taking part in discussion, that discussion will continue to thrive. A series existing in hindsight is just as much a reason for participation as an active series existing in the present day. If anything, a series falling into the realm of 'hindsight' can give us the room we need to sit and reflect on what the series actually did, and what we were left with in the end. It's never stopped the folks who still talk about long-ago-completed series like The Office, House M.D., and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
So if you're new to the LO critical community, or asking yourself if it's still going to be "worth it" to take part in the fandom after LO is done - it's as worth it as you make it. There will always be something worth discussing in this fandom if we're wanting to discuss it.
what i love about the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi of it all is that...it's not just that he's famous and therefore widely recognizable wherever he goes. like yes that is very funny because he was an exorcist before he became a famous actor, which means he CHOSE, on purpose, a day job that would make it harder to hide his double life/secret identity from the hordes of his adoring public, but it's more than that. it's not just that he's famous, it's that he's famous specifically for being an ACTOR, aka a person whose job it is to dissimulate, to make believe, to inhabit roles and emotions other than his own. like he decided he was going to become as visible as possible (which again was literally not necessary! he could have gone into any other career for his day job!!) but in such a way that everyone would see him but no one would see him - they would just see his various made-up personas, including the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi persona. i can't decide if he's a genius or if he just made so many absurd decisions that they canceled each other out and circled back around to working out. he's either playing 9-dimensional chess or he's eating the pieces. too soon to say.
Hi friends, it’s been awhile but I’ve decided to reopen my commissions as a potential means of funding myself whilst I continue to look for a job. more examples of my art can be found here on my blog and through my commissions page on carrd which I will link here

if you decide you want to commission me, please contact me via email: [email protected] please include which type of commission you would like, as well as any basic references regarding your desired subject. Payment is 100% upfront and is done via PayPal. Any questions about the process feel free to ask I will update regularly with progress sketches throughout the painting process.

I have the right to decline a commission however there is very little I will not draw and this is topics such as gore, nudity or animalistic humanoids (such as tabaxi or dragonborn from dnd). Currently I will only be taking commissions for one singular character at a time.

I think Tubbo is different now, well obviously. But I think In small ways.
He watches the geese now.
He watches them fly, he watches them just, do geese things. He looks at them and he wonders if he tried hards enough he could see his goslings, he wonders if he watched them long enough he too could be carefree like them, he could fly again.
Sleeping only brings back the nightmares, his goslings scared faces, their cries as they said goodbye, their faces painted in blood
So instead he watches the geese.
A mother looses her egg, and he watches her mourn for her baby that didn’t even get a chance to see the world.
When he hears the sound of the tasks and is forced into panic and oh god oh god no no he isn’t done yet please don’t let him go, when he hears a sword unsheathed and his mind is forced into the battlefields and there’s blood matting his hair and his wings are bleeding
He retreats to the spot he had made for himself. And watches the geese
A mother nips at her goslings, pruning their newly forming feathers, and they’re so happy in a way that tubbo can’t even imagine.
When the phantom pain of his wings weigh heavy on his back and he can hardly stand he stumbles to the geese pond he created, and drifts to sleep and dreams of flying, of wings and gold feather tips, the water ebbing at his fingers.
And he wakes up to the goslings tucked around him, the mother by his head. There’s a blanket around his shoulders.
Me: if I were working with someone on a project, I’d like to be reminded of the deadline early on and often
Me: ~treat others how I’d like to treated, reminding them of the deadline 6 weeks ahead, 3 weeks, 2 weeks ahead~
Them: radiosilence
Me: hey uh, the deadline is next week, can we make sure we’re on the same page about this scientific poster that you’re allegedly first author on before I print it?
Them: radiosilence
Me: okay I’m printing it today, Thursday, just in case something goes wrong, because I need to make sure this poster gets to Barcelona on Tuesday where there is no onsite printing at the conference… what is wrong with you Europe
Them: radiosilence
Them Friday afternoon, before Tuesday morning deadline: oh I didn’t realize the deadline was coming up! Can you send me the poster
Me: ….. okay *sends fifth copy*
Them: Oh here are some (minor, nitpicky, nonsubstantive) edits. They are really important! I have an MD so everything I say matters even though I didn’t lift a finger for all the analyses here! You must make these edits!
Me: it’s kind of late to do that, I already printed, it cost a bunch of money
Them: you sent reminders about the deadline too early!
Me: how about next time instead of sending reminders I kill you
me explaining the rpr rotation: so these are your single swishes and then here are the multi swish swishes and then you can gothify to get cool pink swishes and swish swishes and here's the button I never remember to hit between pulls
