my favorite tr1gger movies/tv shows
(with reasons why i love them)
black swan - self explanatory lol, i wish i could live the life of a ballerina
to the bone - a little depressing but really shows the reality of ED's and it's relatable
jennifer's body - i love looking at megan fox's body (she weighed 105 lbs for that movie) and comparing it to my own for motivation
girl, interrupted - again a little self explanatory, as much as ED's aren't rlly the point it's just so relatable
baywatch - pamela anderson's body is so perfect and great motivation
heathers - heather duke has bulimia, she's effing gorgeous in the movie
mean girls - the famous "all i drink is cranberry juice for 72 hours"
thirteen - self explanatory, tracy's eating disorder is gradual

Please please please someone recommend modern ed media. I need something fresh!
Anything ed-related, easy to access (Netflix, YouTube), and produced after the year 2012?
I've watched To The Bone a thousand times, almost finished with Everything Now. I've watched girl, interrupted a dozen times. Watched all of SSvSS and the docu Thin.

All the ED media recs and I never EVER see anybody recommend Look Away (2018), a horror movie.
It鈥檚 not technically ABOUT Maria鈥檚 ED, but the themes in the movie are so prevalent & her eating habits and small frame are pointed out so many times like it鈥檚 so insane. And one of the big main contingency points between her and her parents is that they want her to look a certain way (her father being a plastic surgeon who tries to convince her to get a nose job) & it definitely effects her self esteem which is why the horror aspects of this movie are all the more intertwined with her ed methinks. It鈥檚 certainly not like, the BEST HORROR MOVIE ON EARTH or anything but I definitely think it鈥檚 worth checking out if you want a comfort movie or just want to be triggered, etc

ed movies i have personally watched and brief notes on them:
To The Bone: pretty good, enough focus on the ed. not my fav but watch it. on netflix.
Starving in Suburbia/Thinspiration: i liked it a lot, but it is very heavy/triggering/anxiety inducing. 100% focused on the ed. this is on vimeo, it's free you just need to sign up.
Skins: S1 ep2 "Cassie". perfectly fine to watch on its own. the episode is about the ed of one character, mostly focused on it. on netflix.
Girl, Interrupted: great movie, but the two characters with eds are only side characters and don't get much screentime. on netflix.
Black Swan: this isn't about an ed i don't know why people say it is. it is great though and the mc is certainly thinspo. i think it's on disney+?
