THIS, is THE BEAST, "Paula Knauss Selph", who DISHONORED the "Memory", of HER OWN DECEASED MILITARY SON, by allowing HIS "Military Funeral Service", to BE USED, as a CHEAP, ILLEGAL AND POLITICALLY MOTIVATED PUBLICITY STUNT, for of ALL PEOPLE, Donald Trump.
I hope YOUR "15 Minutes Of Fame" was worth it, because the "Backlash", ESPECIALLY from the MILITARY Community, is going to be INTENSE AND LONG LASTING!

This not only gives a bit of detail into what goes into roles like honor guards and cemetery officials...
It also highlights exactly how vile it was when Trump's campaign characterized the official who objected to their videoing as (and I directly quote) "clearly suffering from a mental health episode".
Like... I'm not exactly shocked or surprised... but still... the fuck.
Also, this may be harsh, but the Gold Stars and vets who took part in this were complicit. It was absolutely fair for them to take part in te RNC, even if I may disagree. It was a whole other thing to smile next Trump as he thumbs-up his way into turning Arlington into a circus. ESPECIALLY since other families have been caught up in this:

Abbey Gate Goldstar Families: "President Trump was invited by us!" 🇺🇸
We, the families of the Brave service members who were tragically killed in the Abbey Gate bombing, are appalled by Kamala Harris’ recent attempts to politicize President Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery. President Trump was invited by us, the Gold Star families, to attend the solemn ceremonies commemorating the three-year anniversary of our children’s deaths.
He was there to honor their sacrifice, yet Harris has disgracefully twisted the sacred moment into a political ploy. Kamala Harris bears responsibility for the death of our sons and daughters. Her administration’s catastrophic mishandling of the Afghanistan withdrawal directly led to the murder of 13 service members, including our children.
Despite our multiple requests for a meeting to discuss the loss of our loved ones, Kamala Harris has repeatedly ignored us, showing a complete lack of empathy and accountability. This refusal to face the consequences of her administration’s decision is a deep betrayal to us as Gold Star familiesPresident Trump, on the other hand, has been the only Commander-in-Chief to consistently recognize the heroism of our children. His attendance at Arlington was to stand with us, to grieve with us, and to honor the Legacy of those who gave everything for this nation.
His leadership during his time in office was strong, and we have no doubt that if he were still Commander-in-Chief, our children would be alive today. Kamala Harris has proven herself unfit to serve as Commander-in-Chief. Her actions, both in the failure of the Afghanistan withdrawal and in her disgraceful politicization of this anniversary, have shown that she lacks the judgment, compassion, and leadership required for the position.
We will continue to hold her accountable for the role she played in the deaths of our children, and we will not stand by as she disrespects their memory. America deserves better. Our children deserve better.”

This man will take advantage of anyone at anytime for his own benefit. Using the families of fallen soldiers for political purposes is unfortunately not unique to Trump. However, showing zero respect for a fallen soldier via a big shit eating grin and a thumbs up takes a special kind of psychopath. Either he did not want to seem like a “loser” by showing solemn respect, or he is simply incapable of experiencing that emotion.

Nick Visser at HuffPost:
Two members of former President Donald Trump’s campaign reportedly had a verbal and physical altercation on Monday with an official at Arlington National Cemetery who tried to stop them from filming in an area where recent U.S. military casualties are buried. NPR first reported details of the incident, which took place as Trump held a wreath-laying ceremony to mark the third anniversary of an attack on American troops as the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan. Thirteen service members were killed during the attack at Kabul airport, a tragedy the former president has blamed on President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. A source told NPR that staff at the 639-acre national cemetery in Virginia had let the Trump campaign know that only cemetery officials are allowed to take photos or video in Section 60, where recent casualties are buried. But Trump staffers reportedly attempted to do so anyway. When an Arlington National Cemetery official tried to stop them, the two campaign staffers “verbally abused and pushed the official aside,” NPR reported.
[...] “Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign,” the cemetery, which is maintained by the U.S. Army, said in a statement. “Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants.” The Trump campaign, in remarks to NPR, maintained it did nothing wrong and had video footage to prove it. HuffPost has reached out to the campaign for further comment.
The Trump campaign caused an altercation with an Arlington National Cemetery official when they were told to stop filming. This is sacrilegious behavior by the Trump campaign who has no respect for our fallen soldiers.

Draft dodger Donald Trump, who considers US service members who died for their country to be "suckers" and "losers", desecrated Arlington National Cemetery by holding a political stunt there. Federal regulations do not allow military cemeteries to be used for such purposes.
In a statement to NPR, Arlington National Cemetery said it "can confirm there was an incident, and a report was filed." "Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate's campaign," according to the statement. "Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants."
Donald Trump would never visit a military cemetery EXCEPT for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate's campaign.
That mystery bone spur still has lots of explaining to do.

What Kamala gets right with Dump is finding the right focus for his actions.
When he fucks up, he doesn't just fuck up, he continues to afterwards, the question then is what do you even focus on? We live in an era where every sleight needs included, documenting everything, and that's great, but it doesn't work in politics.
Personally I'd have fallen for the trap too. The fact is, Dump tried to force a political campaign event at the Arlington Cemetary in order to make it look like Kamala chose not to go to a (completely fabricated) public event. That backfired, and feels worth mentioning. Problem is that you get into specifics that give R's ammo to work off of.
What Dump did wrong verifiably needs pointed out. The obvious needs focused on, the extra needs to sit to the side because it sort've rounds out the bad act into something they can reason with.
It's like this, Dump stole candy from the shop, that's the focus, but then he also littered, jaywalked, and insulted a stranger's mother, then lied that the candy was a gift.
What do you even focus on? Well we can verifiably prove the candy was stolen, but people will argue the morals of littering and jaywalking, we can't confirm the stranger's mother was insulted, and we already know the candy wasn't a gift.
If you put any focus on the smaller elements, it makes the bigger one's seem reasonable, like raising the floor to the ceiing so nobody notices how high they're getting and how unreasonable that is.
What works in politics is short and snappy clips of dialogue and responses, and how long those responses are in contrast will matter.
So with the Arlington incident, it's impressive to see the cohesion on this matter. Voters can get the extra information out there. She just needs to keep focus on the event itself that people can't argue against.
What Dump did was beyond disrespectful, selfish, and immoral, but we're used to that. What we need is focus on how that's not leadership material.
Hell if I was Kamala, I'd make an ad that has veterans and other such say they would genuinely feel more secure and willing to work for the country under Kamala over Dump. Watch as their response will be sexism and how quickly that backfires again.
