March 1st 2024 - Sunrise on the drive to work

On this first day of March 2024, I was fortunate enough to witness a beautiful sunrise on my way to work. It made me realize how often we take the little things in life for granted. We tend to overlook the simple pleasures that are right in front of us, and we forget to appreciate them. But today, I was reminded of the importance of noticing and feeling blessed by the everyday occurrences that bring us joy and happiness. This small moment in my day lifted my mood and gave me a boost of positivity. Let us all take a moment to appreciate the beauty around us and find joy in the everyday things! 🩵

I had a nightmare at 4AM today lol.

The best time to have nightmares right? :P

An orange cat with bloody mouth agressively attacked me.. I had to take the orange cat down =(

I was sleep talking to myself..."why are you.....hurting this....cat?" Sighs, it definitely didn't feel right in my dream..=/

I woke up sweaty and uneasy.

Well..a dream is just a dream! (I hope.. 🧐 😂) I actually had a great Friday =)

Hung out early in the morning before work and I got off an hour early too!

I went to go watch "Inside out 2" with friends then went straight to run my mom's errands afterwards =)

(Thank God that my mom is finding back her mobility.. 😮‍💨)

I just pray that all my family and friends would do well in terms of health =/

Our poor doggo is having health problems too..and he’s only an yr old puppy 😓 his health issues really reminds me of my past dog…

📢 EVERYONE and EVERY living creature is precious and deserves to be loved. 🌳 ☁️ 🌊 🦒 🧍 🐞

#thinking about the 4sd where laura was talking about how all the hells titles are good but imogens sounds like it has a double meaning #that shes the storm's hope rather than just the intended a hope that comes from the storm.#and all of imogens 'i am the storm' esque responses #something something what does it mean to turn away from the storm when the storm is inextricable from who you are on both a psychological #and metaphysical level. how do you turn away from your fate when its already in your veins #imogen answers: you don't! you take it into you. and i think that's fun!#me holding imogen's arc in my hands so I can look away from the context it exists in: this is wonderful #critical role #imogen temult #cr3 #bell's hells #predathos #liliana temult #also god. i really miss fcg and imogen. not only was fcg the only witness to a lot of imogen's most significant moments of internal conflic #he was also often the only one that could successfully get her to elaborate on vague claims she would make about how she feels about #the moon and the storm and their fight and all her fear and her willingness to be scared and still do the Right thing even if it risks her #life. and I remember how much fcg's presence was often imogen's impetutus to take seriously that the gods matter to people. because imogen #was the first and often the loudest one to insist fcg had a soul. but it wasn't until the magic of the everlight through pike and their #realization of a meaning through the changebringer that fcg really began to value themself. and she saw how much the gods really could be #this powerful and good force in a person's life beyond just granting them magic. and it led to her often pushing back against (thought ofte #in over delicate and tentative ways) ashton's claims against the gods. but fcg is gone and he died for the hells. and imogen doesn't have #that ever present reminder amongst the storm that the choices she makes will echo out farther than the people she cares about.#also just. they were besties 2 me. they bullied each other but also put the most effort into both challenging and understanding each other.#actually. now thinking about it. fcg and imogen had maybe the most illustrative dynamic of what bh could've been and failed to be. alas ala #cr spoilers #my post #long post #web weaving #web weave #cr edit

OK. Tell them. Make it a teaching moment. Everyone who's in your movement learned the background from somewhere at some point, maybe this is that point for that person. Give them a jumping off point that they can dive into later.

"Oh but I shouldn't be responsible for teaching baby -punks about the history and the how-tos and--"

OK. Then don't tell them. You don't have to be responsible for teaching people with a budding interest in your group the ins and outs and how-tos. That's fair and valid! It can be a lot of work. Someone else will handle it

"But I'm annoyed that they would try to claim to be part of/be interested in my community without knowing all the details that I know after being in it for months/years/decades, they're dumb, they're posers, they're--"

OK. Then don't engage with them, if it's that bad. Maybe someone else will come around and tell them the history, maybe they'll pick it up on their own, maybe they'll just enjoy the fashion elements for awhile.

"But they shouldn't claim to be part of the -punk community if they don't know the--"

I feel like we have a few options here. People can either talk to them, share the history, share the values, share the praxis. Or they can just chase off anyone who even thinks about dipping a toe in their community, and then wonder why it's dying off later down the line.

I dunno, maybe I'm too naive and patient or whatever. But if people are entering your -punk spaces without knowing The Rundown of what you feel they need to know, maybe being nice about it and informing people instead of immediately assuming stupidity and malicious intent could help you make a new friend. Even the loudest voices in a space had to learn from somewhere, and not everyone has the luxury of being in the space as the History was Happening--whether it's an age thing or a not being aware of the space thing. Or maybe I just don't see what the big deal is behind people hating people who like the aesthetic of something and don't know the behind the scenes history about it yet.

Because I believe in the word 'yet.' No one comes into this world knowing everything about everything, and we're all constantly learning new things. I'm not gonna degrade someone and call them a poser for not knowing what I know. Because if it were me, interested in a scene but getting chased out and called a poser? I wouldn't hit the books and study up, I'd go 'that fuckin sucks, those people sucked' and then avoid anyone and anything having to do with it.

So chase people off and call them posers if you want. But if your community starts dwindling, don't be fucking shocked.

On your old blog, you discussed your headcannons for Lyney, one being his tendency to forget things like where he put his wallet because him and his mind are very busy. New Lyney Headcanons

Self-focused - Though he never seems like it, those that know Lyney well know that he’s often running low on sleep. And really, he has no one to blame but himself. During the day he’s often distracted with magic shows, helping people, little tasks around the hotel, running missions for Father, and much more. And at night? He can often be found alone in his room planning new tricks, arranging missions for his siblings, studying to become the next “king” of the House, and things of the sort. If Lynette and Freminet didn’t keep an eye on him, no doubt he would stay up the whole night if given the chance! Those two welcome all the help they can get.

Relationship-focused - When it comes to his relationship with you, Lyney never lies. You know he would never do that to you. And sometimes, the knowledge almost lulls you into a false sense of security. Yet you know better. You’re smarter than that. Where Lyney doesn’t lie, he omits. Half-truths so easily fall from his mouth as drops of rain from the sky. Your comments of concern are often brushed off and your questions redirected. As much as you try, you know the truth. He doesn’t want you to know. He doesn’t want you to shoulder his burdens with him.

Would Lyney be honest with you?

With his outgoing and fun personality, it oftentimes is easy to get caught within his flow. Lyney is the charming sort, after all, that one may very well forget that he is subject to the same struggles as the rest. Get to know him well enough, though, and you will quickly realize that this is not a fact he wishes others to know. More than a desire, he needs to be seen as someone in control, as someone without weakness. That’s his role as the big brother. And if that means lying, avoiding, and omitting the truth to accomplish it, then an accomplished performer like himself will do what he must.

Does Lyney prefer to pursue or be pursued?

With a penchant for flair and dramatics, it’s clear to see Lyney prefers to pursue the people he’s interested in. Really, it’s one of the things he goes all out. With a trick up his sleeve, he won’t hesitate to dazzle you with flowers pulled from nowhere and fireworks from his tophat. He wants you to be enchanted. He wants you to be impressed! You are, aren’t you? You like it, don’t you? So focused on charming you that he often loses sight of much else. Fun fact, should you attempt to turn the tables, however, you can expect his mask of self-confidence to fall to reveal a rather flustered expression beneath.

Headcanons

Self-focused - If there’s one thing that’s true about Lyney, it is that he is a very busy person. As a person with multiple masks and roles, his thoughts are often preoccupied with House missions, performances, new tricks, and things of the like. So, much to the dismay of others, it’s easy for things to become buried under the multitude of other tasks he needs to take care of. How often the simple things become forgotten—where he last left his wallet, tea time with his siblings, the sale on storybooks at the bookstore. During those times, he really can’t help but appreciate his siblings and their ability to keep him on track. Really, he doesn’t know what he’d do without them!

Relationship-focused - It doesn’t hit you at first, but it doesn’t take you very long to notice how hard Lyney tries for your relationship. Normally this would be a good thing, but it is different with Lyney. Every day he tries to charm you. Every day he attempts to enchant you. You tell him he doesn’t need to try so hard, but that only seems to light a fire beneath him to do even more. You see it in his eyes. He needs to know you are still in awe of him, that you like him as much as he does you. And then it sinks in, doesn’t it? He doesn’t trust you. He doesn’t trust your feelings for him. He’ll never show his true face to you.

What’s Lyney’s breaking point in a relationship?

It’s hard to imagine, really. With how much Lyney may seem in love, the idea there’s a point a relationship would be too much for him is hard to believe. But when you really think about it, his breaking point is simple. As strong as his feelings may be for you, his devotion to his family and its cause outweighs everything else. Should your relationship with him ever reach a time where it encroaches upon that which is the most precious to him, then there’s nothing more he can do than let you go.

A random ask for you: is there anything you got into recently (book series, tv series, game) that you didn’t expect to enjoy or were hesitant to try but ended up really liking? 😊

Oh man, REALLY loving Dark Winds on Netflix. I was afraid it wouldn't be good. It's really good.

Zahn McClarnon, the man they cast to play Leaphorn, is just incredible. It's like they put out a casting call for "a cool dude" and got the perfect match. I love him. He does such an incredible job. He plays the character in a very controlled way, most of it being in his face. The show is fairly serious but there's a lot of humor (not comedy but humor) and the way he brings humor into the performance without ever overplaying it is fantastic. He reminds me of my grandfather, who didn't laugh out loud much but you could still tell he was laughing. Just secretly, with a little smile and a glint in his eye. Unlike my grandfather, I find him very attractive. He has an interesting face I could never get tired of watching. Also he is short which is fucking delightful.

Anyway yeah the rest of the show is really good too. I hope they don't Netflix it.

Why does Vassago already have merch, we haven't even met him yet

Could you elaborate on what the yanli-jc wwx conspiracy is?

They are just generally in cahoots re: making sure he's safe and bringing him home, sometimes in defiance of their parents or society or just the likely fact of his death. The first time Wei Wuxian runs away Jiang Cheng wants to follow him because he's worried he'll get hurt. Jiang Fengmian says no, and when Jiang Cheng sneaks out in defiance of his father's wishes with his little rucksack in hand, Yanli is waiting at the gates to support him and tell him to bring Wei Wuxian home safe, implicitly siding with him against their dad in the matter of whether Wei Wuxian might be in real trouble and if so, whether Jiang Cheng's help might be valuable.

The second time is during the sunshot campaign while Wei Wuxian is missing- she comes in when he's brooding over Wei Wuxian's sword and tells him how grown up he is, fusses over him a bit and asks him to bring him back. Jiang Cheng fervently agrees, and looks actively relieved and pleased she's asking this of him- it's blatantly obvious he was going to do it anyway, but her support and faith mean a lot to him which I think is significant because he's usually so worried about failure and he knows Wei Wuxian has been thrown in the burial mounds and is almost certainly dead, but he's not actually frightened he'll fail her, he's just glad they're on the same page. He gets extra support this round because Lan Wangji is also refusing to believe Wei Wuxian is dead and taking joint missions to Yiling with Jiang Cheng and his own turn at sword brooding.

Breaking the pattern, in CQL she was originally going to go with him to talk to Wei Wuxian after he takes the Wens to the burial mounds but he kind of sneaks off without her when he sees her with Zixuan and then doesn't manage to bring Wei Wuxian home to her; she has a sad prophetic dream about it. The conspiracy is broken!

Until! They conspire to bring Yanli to Yiling so Wei Wuxian can see her wedding clothes. I personally think it's implied by the response to Zixuan's request for Wei Wuxian to be allowed at Jin Ling's hundred days ceremony that they were in on that together- either way they're both playing their part, because everyone from the Lan to the JIn know Jiang Cheng would happily take Wei Wuxian back and Yanli misses him. Whether they planned it or just moped really obviously is debatable buy money is on them being in on it together with Zixuan and maybe even Lan Wangji.

And then of course there's Nightless City, where Jiang Cheng notably does not try to get to Wei Wuxian but Yanli does, and then he finds him and loses him all over again so he can have a much more prolonged and less emotionally supportive round of refusing to believe Wei Wuxian is dead.

Bonus Round: The only time Yanli sends Wei Wuxian after Jiang Cheng it's when he's been captured by the Wen because he was already on top of the send Wei Wuxian home safe to Jiejie agenda.

#annnnd basically all of this is a cql exclusive! in the book there's no roadtrip we don't see yanli and JC interact during sunshot and she's #not there for the fall of lotus pier. and zixuan just writes a letter to wwx inviting him to the ceremony #whereas in the show you explicitly see him tell his dad that yanli #producer of heirs and legitimate grandsons #just has one teensie little thing that would make her happy #and lwj backs him up and writes the letter himself #i forget who says he can rejoin the jiang immediately if he gives up the amulet i think it's jgy and obviously a trap #but it's taken for granted that everyone from lxc to jgs knows jc will take him back if he's allowed to. womp womp also you get the shot of #JC and Yanli waiting for WWX together with Jin Ling when they get the news of Zixuan's death which is just. they wanted to introduce him to #jin ling together ;___________________; we three!!!

#cats #I especially like the last one where he just has one single paw poking out of that box for some reason lol #I still have costumes to post and like a billion other things.... grr... constantly failing at staying active on social media aughh #I think because currently my Main Focus is on trying to get my game done and stuff.. which basically just means sitting and writing all day #so there's not much to post about. Though I know the Good At Social Media thing to do would be to post about the #writing and share progress and talk about the game and characters or whatever to try to build interest or something but that is SOOO weird #to me.. Like presumptuous feeling or something #''oooo guess whats gonna happen LATER!!!'' like.. how do you know.. what if it doesnt. what if you dont finish it. what if its not the way #you think it's going to be. what if something changes. etc. Like I literally avoid movie trailers and game trailers for the same reason ghj #Even if it's not ME doing it it just feels... weird.. Maybe it has to do with my OCD and how I just don't like talking about ''future''#things in Certain Terms. Like if I was going to say ''Oh yeah sure. come over to my house in a few months''. I would have to follow it up #with like ''HOPEFULLY you can come over to my house in a few months'' or 'They'll come over in a few months MOST LIKELY''. Because just #stating that something will happen matter of factly takes for granted like.. what if somehting horrible happens and I DONT have a house #in a few months? or what if something bad happens to me. or to the person coming over? I can't ever DEFINITELY say with 100% certainty #that one could ACTUALLY come to my house in a few months. anything could change. So I have to allot for that in my phrasing. hbjjkn #There are a lot of situations where you're expected to just Assume Things but for some reason that bothers me. My brain literally does not #even Assume the most basic things.. like how do *I* know that just because it's someones birthday that they want to be wished a happy #birthday? what if they dont? everyone is different and has different preferences. I should check with them first. or wait until they public #ly announce that theyre accepting birthday wishes. I have to allot for all 5034859069 rare possibilities at any given time and never take #anything for certain. etc. ghjbjhbh.... ANYWAY.. I have been feeling a bit sick lately as usual.. but still slowly making progress on some #things. Moslty I need to edit costume photos. make sculptures. and work on the game. Going back reading some of the old writing from like #2018 and suprisingly I don't have to change that much of it? In fact I like it mostly. so that's good. I would be very interested if I were #playing the game myself. Though that doesnt mean much since my tastes are so niche lol..#Still really want to clear some of my million tumblr drafts as well... alas and aughh and ooughh and so on and so forth. honestly it's so stupid that of all the life series teamups ethubs got the title of divorce duo or what ever. when divorce duo is cleo and bdubs to me.

3L they are in love. this is just textual does anybody ever think about the anguish of bdubs trying to die for cleo and then not even registering when cleo dies before him because it's just so unthinkable and unexpected. cleo had a widower's pact going and cleo dies first and it's so. the crastle which he built to protect them outlives them both

that one bdubs stream where when someone asks what his favorite season was, he says 3L because of teaming with cleo

the first thing bdubs says to cleo in LL is "now it feels like home" & etho cracks a joke (prescient, in the wrong direction) about bdubs already teaming up with cleo and feeling betrayed. but he doesn't, he doesn't team with her, and this time when she outlives him she has a different kind of widower's alliance with etho instead.

promising to leave the monolith to his neighbor cleo in

double life, cleo literally says "i know we're divorced." and then he breaks her trust by lying to her when she NEVER EVER lied to him. and nothing is ever the same again. she really loved him once, but it's different in all the worlds after.

i dont trust my memory of the more recent seasons but even the family bit in limited life is like. okay they got to be ghost together she still picks on him, theyre still so comfortable with each other.

and then in secret life cleo's boyfriends comments about etho is just like well theyve been divorced long enough to be a kind of friends again and they're helping set him up.

they used to be kind of IN LOVE and now they just kind of love each other but it's still there. i am so so so so glad they teamed up that first season it changed everythign. to ME

#cleo especially as someone who Never Forgets both grudges and alliances.#and bdubs as someone who is yes mercurial and prone to saying shit for the narrative tension... but he never forgets either.#he just takes things for granted with other people who remember because he's used to that being ok. so him & cleo arent really for ever #bc they're too of the same in ways that don't work. but they loved each other once #they really did!!!!!!! they used to!!!!!! once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#cledubs #AND not even getting into the whole role swapping permutations with etho involved. not today
