Let's clear some things up because this is the last thing I'm posting on this thread.
The original post was probably not meant as a criticism of communism but a criticism of the dangerous friendship being formed between Trump and Putin and our indifference to the war in Ukraine, which could lead to the Russian re-occupation of much of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
My response was not a criticism of communism but an explanation of the horrors of the USSR. Many people do not know about this because so much of their internet comes from western sources.
I was not "indoctrinated" by the US school system, because the US school system has never once taught me about life in the USSR. I have developed this point of view by talking to people from Georgia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Ukraine, both in-person and online. People who's countries have been subjected to ethnic cleansing, genocide, wars and mass deportation under the USSR.
Russia is a colonialist power that is still trying to colonize to this day.
Just like America.
In georgia, during the Soviet union, 15,000 people were executed by the soviets.
In the baltic states, during the Soviet union, over 200,000 people were deported from their countries to Siberia, mostly women and children.
Over 30,000 Ukrainians have been killed in the Ukraine war as of last month.
And I know I'm not going to change anyone's mind who's a huge supporter of communism- but my point isn't to change your mind it's to please listen to eastern Europeans who have actually gone through the Soviet union, and please for the love of all that is holy, pick a better example of communism without erasing the death and suffering of millions of people.
And stop calling me slurs that would be great too.

It's been a long time, I hope you're okay.
Hello! Thank you so much <3
Honestly, this month was tough - my family brought my last surviving grandmother home to us (she was living in a city that's being destroyed by Russia, so it was increasingly dangerous for her to stay there). However, she passed away 4 days later. And then my oldest pigeon passed away, too.
I think I might be depressed on a deeper level than I thought. There were two weeks of mostly-no-explosions in Kyiv, and I could use this time to finally finish the Tomarry update and resume working on my Black Butler story. And I wanted to, but I just couldn't. I have been struggling with getting myself out of bed and doing even the most basic things.
I was hoping I'd feel better with time, but nope, the strange blankness is still there. And now we are under daily attacks again. Three people died last night in a drone attack: a 5 year-old, her father, and an old woman. She was trapped in her burning apartment.
A warning - this is a terrifying video.
That's the daily risk we all have to take. Being scared all the time is exhausting. Death after death after death - it just doesn't end.
Today I grew utterly fed up with myself, though, so now I'm trying to kick myself back to life. I hope to have better news about updates soon - I already started writing again, and what do you know, the moment I did, I felt so happy and excited. The most difficult thing is to make myself sit down and start, and I'm determined to keep doing it.
On another positive note, I've been making my way through your recs and I found a mafia-centered drama I liked. Many of you have probably watched it already - it's called KinnPorsche. There were many corny moments, but I still enjoyed it a lot, and I loved all three of its ships (though the psychopath/his victim from the rival family were the ones who won my heart). I was always interested in mafia settings, and finally I have something to scream about)

Holy shit. The speed of Trump turning the U.S. into Russia 2.0 is faster than I can say Panama🤯 This is classic Putin Playbook.
Former prosecutor Jessica Aber, 43, who was found dead on Saturday, led investigations into intelligence leaks, war crimes against people linked to Russia, and suspects in the supply of secret technologies to Moscow.
Tumblr media
Jessica Aber’s death feels like one of those stories that’s meant to fade quietly into the background — a tragic headline that people are supposed to forget. But when a career prosecutor who spent her life chasing Russian cybercriminals, CIA leaks, and war criminals turns up dead just weeks after resigning, forgetting isn’t an option.
Aber, the former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead at her home in Alexandria on March 22. She was 43 years old. Police haven’t said how she died, but the timing — and her unfinished business — makes it impossible to ignore.
THE PROSECUTOR WHO WOULDN’T BACK DOWN
Jessica Aber wasn’t just a lawyer — she was the person you sent in when things got messy.
In January, just before her resignation, Aber helped put Asif Rahman, a former CIA analyst, behind bars for leaking top-secret information about Israeli military plans against Iran. The information ended up splashed across social media in October 2024.
Aber didn’t mince words when Rahman pleaded guilty. She warned that his leak had “placed lives at risk” and “compromised our ability to collect vital intelligence in the future.” That’s prosecutor-speak for this guy seriously screwed things up. Whatever Rahman leaked, it wasn’t just embarrassing — it was dangerous.
BIG CASES, BIGGER ENEMIES
Aber’s cases didn’t stop there. In November 2024, her office prosecuted a Virginia-based company accused of funneling sensitive U.S. technology to a Russian telecom firm with Kremlin ties. It wasn’t exactly an accident — the company allegedly disguised shipments and played fast and loose with American tech that Russia wasn’t supposed to have.
Then there was the war crimes indictment. Aber’s office charged four Russian-linked individuals with torturing and unlawfully detaining a U.S. national in Ukraine. She wasn’t just making legal noise — she was putting serious pressure on powerful figures with deep connections.
Aber’s career was a parade of people you wouldn’t want showing up at your funeral — oligarchs, cybercriminals, and corrupt players with resources to make problems disappear.
A SUSPICIOUS EXIT
Aber resigned in January 2025, just after Donald Trump returned to power. Nobody’s said she was forced out, but resigning from one of the country’s most powerful U.S. Attorney’s offices weeks after jailing a rogue CIA analyst feels a little too clean.
It’s not hard to imagine why someone like Aber might suddenly find herself in a tight spot. Trump’s return came with a wave of loyalty tests and DOJ shakeups — and Aber’s aggressive pursuit of Russian networks and CIA leaks doesn’t exactly scream “team player” in this new political climate.
If she was pressured to resign, what cases got quietly buried when she left?
A SYSTEM THAT’S GONE SOFT ON POWER
The Supreme Court’s ruling in July 2024 handed Trump near-total immunity for “core presidential powers,” including military command. Justice Sonia Sotomayor warned that this decision could allow a president to order an assassination — and face no legal consequences.
By the time Aber resigned, that ruling had already cast a long shadow over the Department of Justice. Prosecutors like Aber — the kind who took on powerful players with foreign connections — were now working in an environment where accountability had been gutted.
If Aber’s investigations had exposed something that threatened powerful interests, the court’s ruling would have made it easier for those interests to apply pressure — or worse — without consequence.
Her resignation may have been voluntary. It may not have been. But by the time Aber walked away from her post, the guardrails protecting prosecutors like her were already crumbling.
WHAT DID ABER KNOW?
Jessica Aber knew things that mattered — things that powerful people wanted buried. She chased down Russian cybercriminals, locked up a CIA leaker who compromised military intelligence, and tangled with foreign operatives who wouldn’t hesitate to make problems disappear.
Now she’s gone, and the timing stinks.

IT INFURIATES ME TO NO END people here in Poland would also tell me taht: oh the referendums you know maybe that means these were more Russian populated regions - even if they despise the war!!!!!! How!!!!!!
Imagine being a Ukrainian - you open the morning news and see:
US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff claims that the "biggest problem" in Russia's war against Ukraine is the issue of Crimea and the "four regions" where the Russians held sham "referendums."
"I think the largest issue in that conflict are these so-called four regions - Donbas, Crimea, Luhansk, and there's two others."
He clearly doesn't even know what he's talking about, as he doesn't realize that Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts ARE the so-called Donbas region, which he lists as separate entities. He doesn't have to know that, or anything else, because all he's hired to do is parrot the russian false narratives.
He says that "the overwhelming majority of the people have indicated that they want to be under Russian rule" - conveniently ignoring the fact that the so-called referendums were literally held at gunpoint, and all the people against the russian invasion were either killed, tortured, or expelled, forced to leave their homes.
"Witkoff also believes that Russia is not seeking to absorb all of Ukraine, as the Russians have "returned" five regions and Crimea and got what they needed." - "returned" is the key word here. Like it was theirs to rightfully take. Following this logic, russians think that the entire Ukraine is a fake country that really belongs to the glorious russian empire. "But why would they want to absorb all of Ukraine?", right? And it's not naïveté, it's deliberate misinformation on the highest governmental level.
But putin is not a bad guy, because he "prayed" for his friend, the supreme US leader and possibly the embodiment of god himself - donald trump. What more proof do you need that russians are the good guys? Right?
You close this news and see the next one - an entire family was killed in a russian airstrike in Zaporizhia - a daughter, mother, and father. In one of the regions that russia wants to call theirs, by the way. In the "mostly russian-speaking" city where russia supposedly protects the so-called "russian-speaking population," which was in no danger until russia came here to kill us all.
Tumblr media
Imagine being a Ukrainian. You probably don't want to imagine that.
If you are from the US - trump's people speak for all of you. I don't care how unjustified and cruel it sounds, that's how it's perceived by the rest of the world. They lie, threaten, extort, and back up war criminals on behalf of your nation. It doesn't matter how low Tesla stocks drop - they keep getting away with it. Maybe these leopards aren't eating your face right this second, but they will start munching pretty soon.
This world is an unfunny joke.

Major General Pekka Toveri, Finnish MEP and former director of the Finnish Intelligence Division of the Defence Command speaking at the European Parliament:
"Some question the need for defence investments. Either they say that we should try diplomacy or that Russia is not a threat. Both things are wrong. We can't trust Russia. Diplomacy won't work.
"Those who say that Russia is not a threat normally come from countries that have not been attacked, occupied, raped, and pillaged dozen of times through history like Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and many others. Don't lecture us about peaceful Russia. We know better.
"I have three children in the Finnish army reserves ready to defend us all. I want them to be properly equipped to do that. We must and we can afford to do that. Saying that's not true is a lie."*

Anyway not including Ukraine in talks of ending the war and saying Ukraine just needs to give up territory is making you Chamberlain to Hitler. Like. That's... that's what you're doing. It's really not hyperbole right now. If you legitimately believe Putin will be happy being able to keep some land, we've got one huge example in history where that just ain't the case. Think for two seconds about why the invasion. Because 1) hatred of Ukrainians and 2) want as much land as possible (legitimately how do you think russia got so big?).
There is no such thing as a benevolent dictator. We do not bow to the dictator.

If you want to support Ukrainians, DO NOT donate to Red Cross. Can't speak about their work in other countries, but they're useless in Ukraine. The only trustworthy international organisation I can think of is World Central Kitchen.
Donate to World Central Kitchen
Tumblr media
And it's even better to donate directly to Ukrainian organisations. Here are a few good legit places:
hospitallers.life - "Hospitallers", Ukrainian paramedics on the frontlines
savelife.in.ua - "Come Back Alive", assistance to the army
prytulafoundation.org - "Prytula Foundation", assistance to the army, humanitarian causes
starenki.com.ua - "Starenki", helping elderly people
everybodycan.com.ua - "Everybody Can", helping disabled children, elders and hospitals
uanimals.org - "UAnimals", saving animals

russia is a modern empire. It's stitched with enslaved nations, brainwashed or silenced, or threatened. The majority of these nations are not slavs. Did you know about it? Of course you didn't, as russia whitewashed its face with blood as always. Decolonisation is what absolutely MUST happen to russia. For everyone's good.
The tragedy of Europe and ours is that Russia cannot sustain itself as a normal, functional country.
Before 1914, Russia was incapable of modernizing or industrializing. It completely collapsed during the First World War, the Tsar was killed, and the Bolsheviks came to power.
Stalin tried to industrialize rapidly—through absolute terror and famine. It was in vain. The Germans nearly finished them off—they only managed to hold on with 20 million dead, relying on weapons and ammunition from the USA and aided by the winter cold.
After the Second World War—helped by the entire West—they took half of Europe, all the way to Berlin. Their industrial center stretched from Donbas/Ukraine to East Germany. Massive. Still in vain. They went bankrupt and collapsed—AGAIN—in just 40 years.
The USSR disappeared, and Russia fell into bankruptcy once more.
Afterward, the West helped them again with technology and bought their gas. And China bought their oil and everything else. They made a bit of money. But they know—in their current form, they cannot sustain themselves again and will collapse once more (as electric cars and green energy push them out of the market).
So they attack Ukraine, mind you, ALLOWED by the West to do so. But the Ukrainians are fighting back, and they haven’t been able to advance for 3 years. Disaster. They’re on the brink of collapse.
Now, once again, the USA has to come help them. Pathetically.
Maybe everyone needs to realize that country cannot sustain itselfit’s fundamentally unsustainable. The only solution is for it to break apart into republics and reconfigure itself that way.
You can’t have a country that’s constantly in ruins and, because of that, becomes aggressive and wrecks the lives of millions of people over and over and over again.
Enough.»

They claimed that Ukraine is full of Nazis - yet they were the Nazis all along. They claimed Ukraine is the most corrupt country in the world - yet they are the oligarchs who openly bought their way into the government. Now they claim that Ukraine isn't the victim, but the aggressor who wants war - yet they threaten numerous countries with invasion. Now they claim Ukraine is ungrateful and greedy - yet they demand us to give up our country's resources to them while gaining nothing in return. Now their leader claims Ukraine is ruled by a dictator - yet he praises the real dictator, who's been ruling a totalitarian regime and starting wars for 25 years. Now they claim Ukraine isn't a democracy - yet they openly call their leader a king and want him to rule forever.
Every accusation is an admission. Always.
