People on here really only want to hear about ukraine in the context of comparing to other conflicts, with the implication that it's less bad, even though cities with populations in the hundreds of thousands have been razed to the ground and whole villages executed and buried in unmarked mass graves in forests. Wanted to write a post about detention camps and systemic sexual violence and torture in occupied territories, but i could see a montage in my mind of only my ukrainian mutuals engaging with it and idiots writing me their thinkpieces on why what I'm writing about either A) didn't happen or B) happened but it's good, so i just white knuckled and gave up, nvm.

For starters, please be aware that, for now, all of the major large language models (LLMs)— generative AI for text—are based on hundreds of thousands or more books and countless articles stolen from pirate websites. This is the largest mass copyright infringement of authors’ works ever, and it was done by some of the richest companies in the world. It is theft—a transfer of wealth from middle-class creators to the coffers of billionaires—and we are fighting against it.

Zelensky will be received in Washington on Monday without ceremony or red carpet – Sky News
You must have killed millions of people, you must have given the order to rape women, sell children, and bomb hospitals – then you're worth a lot in Trump's eyes.

You’ve seen a blue peacock (Pavo cristatus)—but have you seen a white one? No, this isn’t a new species: This bird’s striking plumage is the result of the genetic mutations leucism or albinism. Leucism is a reduction in all types of pigmentation, including melanin. Albinism is the inability to produce or distribute melanin. Most white peacocks are leucistic, not albino… but how can you tell the difference? Take a close look: Peacocks affected by albinism have pink eyes. These birds are rare in the wild, where their conspicuous coats would attract the attention of hungry predators.
