If you want to support Ukrainians, DO NOT donate to Red Cross. Can't speak about their work in other countries, but they're useless in Ukraine. The only trustworthy international organisation I can think of is World Central Kitchen.
Donate to World Central Kitchen
Tumblr media
And it's even better to donate directly to Ukrainian organisations. Here are a few good legit places:
hospitallers.life - "Hospitallers", Ukrainian paramedics on the frontlines
savelife.in.ua - "Come Back Alive", assistance to the army
prytulafoundation.org - "Prytula Foundation", assistance to the army, humanitarian causes
starenki.com.ua - "Starenki", helping elderly people
everybodycan.com.ua - "Everybody Can", helping disabled children, elders and hospitals
uanimals.org - "UAnimals", saving animals

Not gonna lie, my morale is at the lowest point it's been since the beginning of the invasion. Russians are successfully occupying more and more territories and shell frontline regions every day. People are dying, our culture and herritage is destroyed. International aid dwindled significantly because of american bullshit. Mobilization law has been signed and there is a chance that my family members get conscripted soon. Don't even get me started on internal political problems. A bunch of articles in foreign media talking about our defeat and "peace talks" (what a joke).
It feels like there were no at least moderately good news in a while. On top of that, the feeling that we are screaming into the void is stronger than ever. I'm happy when I see a foreigner online supporting us and spreading the word, because it gets rarer. Ukrainians feel like none of what's happening gets outside our info bubble. Most likely no one but Ukrainians will see this post either. Honestly don't know what to make of all of this.

ukraine may be fighting the biggest modern empire in the world that wants to take its colony back to oppress and subjugate its people and culture as it has been for CENTURIES but that still not anti-imperialistic enough for some people

Ukrainian cities. once these streets were bustling, filled with joyful voices and sounds of car horns, people were preparing for the holidays, decorating their homes and Christmas trees, giving each other gifts and wishing for dreams to come true. gathering with entire families to celebrate.
today these cities look as if nothing ever existed here, only solid ruins and ghosts of a past life. russia destroyed everything. dismantled the memory of entire generations brick by brick with daily shelling. took away a happy future from many families.

Good fucking morning from Ukraine after the massive shelling by russia with almost everything they've got. I personally heard pretty loud explosions over my head. Thanks to our air defence I am alive.
But still there are lots of injured people across all the country as well as some dead.
"Gentle" reminder that russia is a terrorist state
Upd: the numbers of injured and killed are growing

Oleksandr Yakushchenko
One of the Ukrainian teens who were forcibly taken from orphanages in Ukraine and given up for adoption, an 18-year-old boy from the Kherson region, committed suicide in Krasnodar Krai. He was trying to make it back to Ukraine for the holidays but had his passport taken away.

"Nobody f*cking needs me there. They made me understand that"
"When they put the flowers, they just came up and threw them as if he were a dog. And when it was time to leave, the foster family said: "Thank God he's dead. Less problems".

CathFawr: If the war doesn't worry you, you need to stop thinking in terms of "russia is bogged down in Ukraine, so we're fine" and start seeing the current war as the battle of Britain. In that sense, if Russia wins here, Operation Sealion is enabled- russia will believe they can push further West to settle their perceived scores from soviet times; China will be emboldened to try for Taiwan, North Korea to South Korea, and Iran to Israel, and potentially other neighbors. In the most basic sense, all these other autocratic dictators are waiting to see if Putin ends up like Hitler and Mussolini, or if their hateful expansionist ambitions will be permitted to bear fruit by an apathetic and self absorbed world. Wake The Fuck Up Or war will be at your door. Your sons and daughters will die in foreign (or domestic!) fields. Or the west can send a united message that international law is to be upheld, and dictators made to wither and scatter to the wind like chaff from the grain. It's your call, I'm already bleeding for our collective freedom.

Will never forget how long the 2-metre walk from my bed to the window in the morning of 24.02.2022 felt as I was desperately trying to persuade myself that the booming, earth-shaking sound was just an unusually vicious thunder, and simultaneously thinking 'what if I pull the curtains open and there is no rain?' I pulled the curtains open, and there was no rain. No thunder clouds. Just the faces of neighbours also woken up by the missile explosions looking out of the window. That's when I understood that the war began.
Here's a reminder that Ukraine still needs donations badly to fight off the invasion.
United 24 and Come Back Alive are both verified charities that support the Ukrainian military. They offer various options, for example, collecting money for medical equipment, humanitarian demining and rebuilding Ukraine if someone doesn't feel comfortable donating towards weapons.

Tomorrow is gonna be the second anniversary of the invasion ruzzia launched against Ukraine, and the tenth anniversary of ruzzian aggression since 2014
Please, support us, keep talking about us, we are still being attacked and killed everyday
Make sure to donate to Come Back Alive, to Serhii Prytula, to any Ukrainian creative to keep us all afloat
War and genocide isn't a trend for social media, those are not some silly things for people to talk about and then forget once it's not "popular" anymore, those are actual atrocities that shouldn't even be a thing in the 21st century

Since the beginning of the year, more than 700 libraries have been destroyed or damaged in Ukraine.
Russia struck Ukraine’s major printing press, Faktor-Druk in Kharkiv, killing at least 5 employees among the 7 dead & 20 injured. Kharkiv is the heart of Ukraine’s publishing industry. This attack on culture underscores the genocidal nature of Russia’s war. Factor-print was bombed exactly one week before the Book Arsenal (book festival), just when dozens of publishing novelties were being rushed to print. The bombing was aimed at preventing these books from being published, at preventing Ukrainians from having book fairs - for a quarter of a century, the Russians had managed to silence them using other methods, and now that they have started to find their feet, they are using bombs and missiles. And all for the sake of the "great Russian culture". Forcing people to read this literature because of the absence of destroyed Ukrainian literature. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the Vivat publishing house (the bookshop belongs to them).

Project Nedopysani confirmed at least 194 literature figures killed by Russia during war.
This list will continue to grow. Russia commits genocide, both physical and cultural, every day. This is why you likely didn't know much about Ukraine until 2022: Russia tried and continues to wipe out our culture from existence.
Please, support Ukrainian artists and spread awareness about Russia's war crimes.
