Bisan is calling for another global strike!

I saw some posts just outlining Jan 21st, and wanted to clarify that Bisan has called for a full seven days of action.

What a global strike would look like is:

calling in sick to work

purchasing bare essentials ahead of the week so you can observe the general boycott of goods / buying as little as you genuinely can

putting in a concerted effort to elevate Palestinian voices and make it clear that this strike is in support of a permanent ceasefire!

For those who will have to purchase necessary goods during this time, please observe the brands that the BDS movement is asking us to boycott!

This community saved me. During the darkest, most dangerous time in my life I found a place I belonged. An open and honest place where I was safe to express myself and find others doing the same, others just like myself who I admired and trusted. They told me the true meaning of this dark, violent, and attention-grabbing aesthetic that resonated deeply with me was that it's actually okay to be mentally ill and it's nothing to hide or be ashamed of. The past few weeks I’ve been watching a bunch of analog horror stuff, Midwest Angelica, the Walten’s Files, Harmony and Horror, Monument Mythos, etc.

It’s so cool to see the stories and worlds that people can come up with, from fascinating to creepy, to down right disturbing. I know some people say that a lot of analog horror on youtube is low effort, but I would have to disagree. Having a simple video of a black or white background with some texts and images, isn’t all these people put into their work, they have to come up with a concept and try and flesh it out to the point they feel they feel happy with. Does a book need pictures to get people invested into the story? No!

To get people invented into a story with limited visuals, is a lot harder than most realize. Just because you have good visuals or CGI, it doesn’t mean that people will be invested in the story. I mean take some movies, they might have great visuals and have plenty to look at, but their story is lacking any substance (I’m not putting my head on a pike by saying which movies I’m talking about)

Don’t get me wrong, there are some analog horror that are rough around the edges, but the person or team who made the story and video might not entirely know what their doing, but they’re trying, they’re putting their work out there to be seen, if there are things they need to improve on then the community needs to support and share tips.

No one should say ‘This video is shit, there’s nothing to look at, it’s just low effort text, You Should Quit!’.

Each upload you do, you can end up learning something new to improve your technique.

And not all stories are made for views or likes, some people just make them for fun.
