i really don’t think it’s “typical dragon age fandom nonsense” for people to be genuinely upset about the world state choices. combat, level design, art direction, gameplay gimmicks, those have all varied across each dragon age game. the one thing that’s remained constant are nods to our previous choices.

i wasn’t expecting my HoF to come riding in on a griffon, but i can’t find a monument dedicated to warden tabris somewhere around the anderfels? lucanis couldn’t have some lines about the time that one arainai boy was stirring up trouble in antiva city? you’re gonna tell me that making a mage the new divine wouldn’t have some impact on nevarra and antiva? on the anderfels, the supposed most devout militant andrastian nation in thedas? you’re saying nobody in the north is paying attention to who rules orlais or ferelden? come on.

I feel like something that should have been explored more in Arcane is that despite the dangers and pretty much horrific conditions, Zaun children seemingly grow up a lot more caring and have a larger understanding of family in comparison to Piltover children. And if such a reflection of the real world in a sense.

The kids of Zaun seemingly grow up with a lot more adult support. Ekko is easily welcomed under Benzo’s wings. Vander adopts 4 kids (two of which we learn he knew of before their parents death, two of which we can’t be sure of). Silco, despite all what happened, and his ulterior motives, shows no problem adopting Powder/Jinx. In the alternate universe it seems as though he’s still played a part in the kids lives. Jinx adopts Isha easily and Sevika cares for her as well. Hell, even Mr. War Crimes Against Humanity does well with little Viktor (until ya know, the animal abuse).

Hell, up until Vander dies (the first time) there seems to be a large understanding of if there’s an orphan or a kid in need of guidance, take them in! (And certainly don’t inform them of your plans to turn a giant pink salamander into drugs and be confused when a nine year old doesn’t understand). If a kid wants to be your apprentice, let them! For the most part, until things all went wrong in the end of act 1 of season 1, the worst parts of Zaun seem pretty typical for any city in poverty.

Match that with what we see with how Caitlyn and Jayce grow up. Caitlyn is given adult support, yes, and it’s clearly a good adult mentor, but it’s not entirely by her choice. It’s been chosen for her. She’s safe, but there’s a lack of freedom of choice. Meanwhile, when Jayce gets older, and that same accident in Act 1 happens, the family that supported him and his mom turns their backs. His own mom doesn’t support him either, because she’s afraid of what he’s talking about, but also because he’s damming them to being outcasts.

Conversely, Vander is more than willing to take the fall for what Claggor, Milo, Vi and Powder did. He’s willing to go to prison for a long time, in order for them to have a better future. Despite Vi’s best efforts, he’s not going to listen to her (she is just a kid) and he’s not letting his family go down and get hurt.

Meanwhile, a man who grew up in this mentality, where there’s a wide sense of family support from people who aren’t your biological family, is the one to go to Jayce, a stranger, and tells him he believes in him. It’s why it’s such a shock to Jayce; his own family and family friends denied him. They didn’t support him.

I think that’s what makes all the difference. Piltover and Zaun have wildly different understandings of family and forgiveness. For Piltover, it shuns and damns the lives of those who upset the balance. For Zaun, it provides safety and never ending understanding.

The JL keeps trying to stop Captain Marvel from talking to the media (and it’s not working)

The jl held a meeting about marvel’s conduct with cops bc he got a little too excited and suplexed a cop completely fucking forgetting he’s a 7ft buff ass man (the video goes viral for months) and the press is having a fucking field day with this bc ‘Captain Marvel Hates The Government!’ ‘Justice League Member, Captain Marvel, Shows His True Colors…?’ ‘Fawcett Superhero Attacks Civilian!’ ‘Captain Marvel Sends Police Officer to ICU!’ ‘Philadelphia Hero Puts Public Servant In Coma’ and shit like that is on the front page of every newspaper, magazine, and tabloid for the next eight months at least

so they’re like ‘hey you gotta say something! The people think you hate the us government esp the police!’ and he’s just sitting there confused before he says very slowly and clearly ‘But I do…I fucking despise them’

Barry and Hal are fucking losing it bc this is the guy that says ‘darn!’ in the heat of battle and has said on multiple occasions ‘Well, that’s not very nice, now is it?’ to opponents that destroy worlds for fun

Apparently they can be summoned. Apparently, a cult from a different dimension tried to summon something and got them instead. Apparently their bodies got shrunk, or de-aged or however one wanted to explain it. APPARENTLY, this universe has heroes, and apparently they seem to be their universe’s equivalent to two of the villains here. 

Honestly, these “Cheshire” and “Riddler” people couldn’t be that bad compared to the Fentons. What are the chances they’ve committed war crimes or joined a government branch to legally vivisect things? That’s right, no chance. Probably. 

They should probably leave the hero-people to their freakout and find a way home.

I am begging you guys, please please please watch shadow and bone if you can. Is the show completely book accurate?? Hell no. But, it’s still a wonderful series (Emmy fucking nominated) with a truly amazing cast and I still haven’t the slightest clue as to why it was cancelled.

SO, the chances of Netflix un-canceling the show are extremely slim yes. But Netflix sees when shows get watched more, when people re-watch and make things popular. So please watch the show🙏 it doesn’t deserve to be cancelled.

I personally really could not give less of a fuck about genderswapped ruikasa because first and foremost imo I think people just do it to get yuri warrior points instead of actually caring about female characters/wlw relationships. however I also dgaf because I think people do it in the most boring way possible without thinking about how tsukasa and rui’s personalities would impact how they present themselves as girls.

Tsukasa is so incredibly determined to be seen as a reliable mature older brother figure to the point where he dresses in an incredibly stuffy and boring way & has stripped his room of anything childish (& anything with personality). She would not dress super cute & girly. she would want to be taken seriously (& you should be able to be taken seriously wearing fashion like that but I’m not getting into that rn) & be viewed as anything but childish. She would not dress like Saki she would dress like she worked at a library or something. Her fashion would still be boring. Integral to the character.

I have less to say abt rui because I generally think less about what his fashion choices say about him (beyond hater of tight clothes #sensory issues king) but he is almost never in shorts and dresses in comfy loose fitting clothes he would also not be a hashtag girly girl wearing short skirts and bows either.

oker so i have seen some people saying that they didn’t like lyra with grayson because they think that the two wouldn’t work out, but im hear to plead the contrary

in my opinion, if lyra turns out the way we’ve been expecting, she’ll be graysons endgame. the reason why i think this is because lyra is typically a snarky, sarcastic character. while grayson used facts and a deadpan tone in the phone call with her, lyra was more quick to resort to overreactions and fiery comments to keep the conversation going. This banter, or more all the scenes they had together, was what made all of us believe that jlb would end up putting them together.

do you want to know why avery and grayson didn’t work out where as avery and jameson did? it’s because grayson and avery are very similar people. they’re both quite serious and mature at times, and when things get hard, they don’t know how to tell people. my point is, they were too alike. it would have never worked out. but with jameson and avery, that’s different. they’re similar too, but also they have their prominent differences that make them such a good couple. avery is the maturest in the relationship and likes to think most things through before she does them, where as jameson tends to rush into situations and does things without thinking. im not saying they aren’t alike. because they are! but what im saying is jlb made them just different enough that they complimented each other in every way, where as grayson and avery had good scenes, but just weren’t right for each other.

even in graysons past you can see he had…. situationships, if they could even be called that, that were too similar to him. like avery, or eve. and no im not gonna include emily because she’s a stone cold menace and i honestly have no clue what her characters like because she’s a narc 😇

anywho, lyra being this sarcastic and less serious character would compliment grayson, instead of him just being stuck with girls that are too alike to him. she would be able to get him out of his comfort zone, and maybe she’ll be a character who wouldn’t mind protection sometimes, instead of one who didn’t need or want it, like avery.

they might be able to have some real, raw chemistry, instead of just attraction that won’t lead anywhere.

anyways, that was all. vote lyra and grayson for president 2024. 🇺🇸‼️
