So glad I backtracked to do the creche quest. I hadn’t thought a lot about Lae’zel beyond my impression that she was a bit of a cruel tool (in both senses of the word) held together by a rigid adherence to her religious code (which would’ve been fine if not extremely compelling to me, evil women rights etc etc) but then you get to the creche and it’s like oh. I will say that Sinner didn’t do anything wrong in that the amount of substance in his system was so small it pretty much couldn’t have been intentional, but his pr handled this so badly it’s making them (and by extension him) look super shady and the atp looks worse than usual, which is an accomplishment. But ofc he’ll be the one catching the most flack because he’s the one they represent; to be honest, there’s no reality in which this could’ve happened without that being the case, but if they had been honest in the first place, people wouldn’t now be questioning his incredible results. He needs a monster run at the open to fix the issue with his iw points, but even in that case people will question him. This is a stain on his career that won’t easily be overlooked, especially considering that he will probably win more slams and be scrutinized each time. I watched one of Write it Out’s Video where he said the Irene in MCD and the Irene in MyStreet are different beings and I haven’t been normal since.

The idea of MCD Aphmau ascending and taking the place of the OG Irene just to then create another world where her and her friends could live out the happy endings they deserve is so fucking good.

At some point, you have to concede that the abuse wasn't your fault - that there was no action you could have taken to have prevented it, and that it wasn't your fault.

I used to try finding the magic things that would stop the abuse - gifts, kind words, tears, smiles, pretending I didn't exist - and that was because I first and foremost saw the abuse as my fault. It was my responsibility to end the abuse, otherwise, I am somehow proving to the skies above that this is what I wanted from life. I've noticed that for some people, this is a common impulse. It's the victim-blaming internalized and molded in such a way that feels true, and it's hard sometimes to notice it.

What I want to do is, at the very least, remind you (if this resonates) that it isn't your fault. I understand why people don't want to hear about negative things in astrology, but let's call a spade a spade and identify it as spiritual bypassing which is a "tendency to use spiritual ideas and practices to sidestep or avoid facing unresolved emotional issues, psychological wounds and unfinished developmental tasks."

I think astrology should inspire your personal development. A good astrologer (or any other diviner) reads your chart (or any other form of divination), but a phenomenal one lays it out and provides solutions because we are not just supposed to know about the stars, but life in general. It's okay to point out negative significations, interpret negative cards as negative, but it's not okay to lie to people.

anger is a valid emotion. don’t get swept up in the “peace, love, and positivity” bs that’s forced down our throats every 5 minutes. anger is the signal that someone’s tried us and that we need to either defend ourselves or gtfo of the situation if that’s possible.

people who anger others intentionally through words (for absolutely no reason) are equivalent to people who seek out physical conflict. are you going to just take random, unwarranted, physical abuse from a random bitch on the street who clearly has issues? i hope tf not. so why do so many of us feel guilty for standing up for ourselves against the “family” or “loved ones” who seek verbal conflict with us? we’re literally made to feel guilty for stepping into survivor mode - and defending ourselves from people who were threats to us - instead of stepping into completely-helpless-victim mode immediately. that’s why people with control issues try to break down our sense of self over time. for most of us, there was a time when we stood up for ourselves against these people. and then a time when we grew tired and numb to their bs. and now we’re tasked with having to find our defences again. but we’re made to feel crazy or guilty for it, just like we were made to last time.

i guess i type this to say: you’re not crazy. you’re not problematic. that problematic ass family that you have is the issue. that dysfunctional person that you have to be around is the issue. you’re expected to be fully functioning when you’re around someone who could drive anyone to madness. because they’re mad themselves. literally. low functioning narcissistic people and abusive people especially. everyone can see that they’re not “normal”. you’re around the human embodiment of dysfunction but yet you’re expected to be a fully functioning human being? i don’t fucking think so. cut yourself some slack. you’re doing everything that you possibly can right now.
