The wildest part about being a system and having known you are a system for a while (6+ years for us) HAS to be seeing people who are just figuring it out fall into holes that you've long left behind.

Like. Yeah. We also thought we needed to keep tabs on everyone to increase communication. In the end it became too unwieldy. Especially since DID evolves with what you experience all the time.

Microlabels are cool and I fully support anyone who uses them, but figuring out what to call every single structure in your system isn't for us anymore.

Another thing we notice is people who try their best to know who is fronting at all given times. A lot of that comes naturally to us nowadays, but it's also... OK not to know. Especially if you're not focusing on anything system related at the time.

I guess a lot of this boils down to, it's okay not to care. It's okay to go with the flow of things and figure out at your own pace. Identity is fluid, especially if you have a dissociative disorder. You don't HAVE to have everything figured out 100% of the time.

It's okay to take it slow. It's okay to not know. It's okay to just exist for a bit. It's okay to live and experience things beyond being a system.

To all the people who are just starting to comprehend this. You do not need to know and label exactly what is happening in your head all the time. Fuck, we sure don't. And we're happier for it.

It's okay to just be you.

We need to bring kindness back to fandom.

We need to stop judging people based on who they ship or who they stan.

We need to stop treating others like they're stupid and exasperating for bringing up "old news" when they are new to the fandom and for them it's all new.

We need to go back to ship and let ship. It never should have come to proship and anti. People didn't used to harass and judge others for who they shipped.

We need to go back to quietly filtering the tags we don't want to see, not scroll through the content we hate and then attack people who love that content.

We need to stop accusing people of being a pedophile because of who they ship. The only thing tha makes you a pedo, is being an adult who is attracted to prepubescent children. Adults attracted to teenagers (post pubescent) are hebephiles. Stop calling hebephilia, pedophilia. It does more harm than good and waters down the severity of the words.

We need to stop being ageist. The amount of ageism in fandom now is disgraceful. Teens and young adults constantly judging older adults and trying to push them out of fandom is so wrong. Who do you think gives y'all the most content? Adults. Stop acting like 30 years old is ancient. One day you'll be 30, it's not that old, seriously.

We need to stop acting like minors and adults can't be friends because "they have nothing in common and it's creepy." Their shared interest is fandom! Fandom elders used to be treated as the coolest people in the fandom, and now they are treated like they are intruding on the spaces they made.

We need to stop with minors openly engaging with NSFW content. Stop following people who have "no minors" on their page. Stop openly engaging with adult content because you may not get in trouble, but the adult could.

We need to stop ignoring fandom etiquette. It's there for a reason. Going into tags of what you hate isn't healthy for you and it's annoying to the people who like those tags. Making a post about hating a certain ship? Don't tag that ship, use "anti [insert ship name here]".

We need to stop demonizing DDDNE (dead dove do not eat). Whether it's there to warn about triggering content or there to emphasize that you're getting exactly what was said you'll get, it's there to not only protect the author, but the reader as well.

We need to stop accusing people of things they are clearly not. Accusations of racism, especially towards poc, is not only hurtful, but it's constantly used for when someone doesn't like a character that is a poc because other reasons to not like a character is just apparently not thought of anymore.

We need to stop judging other people's headcanons. Headcanons are there for us to enjoy.

We need to stop insulting each other and each other's art and writing in fandom. Don't like don't read. Move along and check out something you do like.

We need to stop with making everything about a ship or character you hate and spreading said hate throughout the fandom. It really isn't cool to have pages dedicated to hating characters and ships. It's not edgy, it's sad.

We need to stop trying to control how people perceived what they read and watch. We are all different, we all won't see things exactly the same due to our life experiences and how our minds work.

Fandom is supposed to be an escape from the world, to have fun, and to meet others who are interested in the same things.

All this hate and discourse makes everything unpleasant. End the cycle that started less than a decade ago. Fandom can go back to being just being fun and not a morality contest.

Sara here a sharl fan like me. Theres a lot she believes about his qualities as a driver that I do as well. Shes fully convinced he cud be a multiple wdc winner, as am I, and that its a matter of car and personnel for it to happen. Nothing that he lacks has to do wid his lack of legacy so far. I agree wid all of that. So when I saw ur ask and read that twt my first reaction wasnt to be angry just . Puzzled. Mclarens setup was akin to a sentient Dyson wid evil powers, but Ferrari had 2 drivers wid strong AD precedents and Mclaren , wid all due respect, pistachio my most beloved, did not. After dominating fp1, it became evident in fp2 something was wrong wid car 16, and it was announced he wud take a 10 place grid drop to fit a new battery in his horse for quali. The sole vaccinated cavallino on track, Carlos, managed a p4 in the final practice session. It was safe to assume Carlos wud make the front row in quali and sharl wud join him comfortably and begin his hunt from p10. They had a shot. Then sharl missed it. Mclaren completed the front row lockout, Sharls lap time got deleted for track limits in q2 after topping the charts and he never had the chance to disrupt papaya dominance in q3. Out of position, wid a new battery and a teammate in p2 who wud never catch the mcl38 in clean air, that was it. Sharl began the race wid imo the finest first lap of his career, sublime braking and steering into p8. From that point forward, the race was his to manage, and he did so brilliantly. Both horses took advantage of the 1st lap chaos in different ways, but while Carlos' delta to Lando meant he never did the 1 single overtake that actually mattered, Sharls delta to everyone else meant he overtook like 1 car per lap except the 1 that shud have been his to take but couldn't. As he reached George, he undercut the Mercedes, slot into fourth and waited for Lewis to pit. In the end, if Sara wants to bow to that I'll bow wid the bitch no problem. So lets straighten our backs and really look at it. The 2nd fastest car qualified p19 thru driver error and made up 16 places. He finished 25 seconds behind his teammate, who in turn finished 6 seconds behind Lando. In its usual one stopper bore fest, once Lando's mcl38 bolted those hards on low fuel, as a distinguished 2024 ptsd riddled verstappie connoisseur, i knew Carlos hopes to win were dead and buried. Why they didnt just use the pit window to put Carlos on mediums and let him off into the sunset I'll never kno, but thats neither here nor there. Ferrari lost the wcc by the smallest margin since F1 started giving out points for race winners like candy ((25 instead of 10)). 14 points between both teams. Sharl definitely didnt lose Ferrari the wcc. This my analysis of his Abu Dhabi. Sara is very into having Opinions so I'm sure shes got her fair share on my take of those quali consequences, but they did matter. Just like lap 1 incidents matter. Like pace advantage matters. Like DRS matters. Abu Dhabi has 2 DRS zones along 2 straight lines, the point on any track where the sf-24 always finds lap time. One of Sara's arguments is that Abu Dhabi, unlike Interlagos, does not favor comeback drives and thats 1 of the reasons Sharls drive was more impressive than Brazil. .. 🫥 .. In 2021 Yas Marina went thru a series of changes including aforementioned DRS zones and faster corners. Chicanes 5 and 6 were turned into a single wider hairpin, specifically to promote more overtaking, where interestingly enough sharl went outside 4 cars before entering the DRS all the way to t9 in his quest to p4.

Comparing Sharl's Abu Dhabi to Max's Brazil is already extremely odd, but doing so to hype up this season's Abu Dhabi OVER Brazil's in a rage batey type of p0st that included the sentence 'no SC, no particular car advantage, no rain' was so fucking deranged even coming from f1twt I was kinda fascinated and HAD to investigate. I think the reason she felt the need to say all that was because 1) seasons over and they lost the wcc and I think we're all allowed 1 insane take for the Troubles 2) theres 0 to no chance Max's performance in Brazil will be replicated in our lifetime, because Interlagos was not Max's 'best race of the season', it was one of the best drives in Formula 1 history. If ur a sharl fan, and ur next teammate is Lewis Hamilton, I think perhaps a drive like Abu Dhabi's race where sharl was virtually flawless and displayed his potential to the fullest, is something u have to shove next to Brazil, because otherwise you've got nothing. Yet. YET. Thats what bothers me sm wid these fake ass marc herve fans, is that by saying shit like this, by comparing an exemplary comeback stint in Abu Dhabi to a drive that redefined the limits of whats possible to do on a wet track and flipped the odds on a championship title at the same time, they're saying sharl isnt capable of anything remotely close to that. Now I'm not sure what Sara's standards for sharl are, but they sure as fuck arent the same as mine. I think Sharls 2025, like 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, will be an improvement. Back to my og point. Verstappen's 2024 has nothing to do wid sharl's 2024. Sharl accomplished so many beautiful things in 2024. Conquered Monaco, Monza, delivered great wheel, worked thru a rough path and became one of the season's most consistent performers, went h2h for constructors till the very end in a car that only became competitive halfway into the season. Focus on that, relish in that p3, the potential of that development, Lewis' hiring and the power he brings, the challenge, the potential start of an undeniable legacy for both, or maybe just 1. Max's 2024 doesnt fit in any of this. Brazil had nothing to do wid any of this. Release yourself from the clutches of a mold that cant be replicated because the child it came out broke it at 17. Sharl is not Max, and thats fine, he'll be something else. Maybe better, maybe not. Arent u excited to find out. Also keep in mind that a lot of the time the actors simply do not know what's happening a few episodes down the line. People are so sure that OS is the enemy that they forgot he simply does not know, and anything that's been established once can be retconed (see Tommy and his jealousy of Eddie, and OS having no clue about BuckTommy hooking up again at the time of the breakup, and him not even knowing during 701 that bi buck was going canon).

i am getting tired of trying to explain to people that as someone whose life is almost entirely online due to health issues, fandom discourse does in fact have a huge impact on my experience.

it makes total sense someone whose life is much different than mine would have much different priorities to discuss on here lol, and i still do very much care about what's going on in the world at large even if i'm not really existing in it much. i do still put my focus toward other things that are more dire, and i kinda have to anyway by association of talking about discourse because of how much the real world's issues trickles down into people's mindsets about fiction.

it is just that with the way my own life has shaken out, in my personal own specific daily life it is more probable that a friend of half a decade will block me for reblogging an anti-censorship post, than it is likely that i will get called a slur in a public space i simply cannot go to. so that is why i, on my blog about my personal life and experiences and immediate concerns and fandom community, will talk about fandom bullshit more than i talk about the irl bullshit i just want to come here to escape, just as people who have to deal with other issues in their day will discuss those.

also, (sorry to soapbox, i promise this will be the last of it), as an added note to the little conversation from yesterday about dreblr--i have to say that there's been ,,, uh, a slightly concerning amount of "us versus them" rhetoric especially about c!tommy apologists recently, as far as i've observed. and look, i get how the fandom's history plays into this, but dreblr isn't some separate special "better" version of the dsmp fandom. we're just dsmp fans who tend positive towards c!dream, which is a valid way of enjoying the story, but you know, so's hating c!dream's guts, lmao. people aren't unable to have valid opinions on the story or on c!dream just because they're negative about him and positive about c!tommy, which is like, literally just normal too, lmao, c!tommy is the generally good-aligned character we follow for most of the story and c!dream is the generally evil-aligned character that hurts him? being an analyst in dreblr doesn't automatically equal being "more correct" just because it's dreblr, and dismissing others' opinions just because they're a c!tommy apologist or whoever apologist isn't exactly a helpful way of approaching meta, either.

ok maybe this is a controversial take, but 8×06 confessions was not the worst episode of the season, far from it. yes it has a lot of issues and things that really bothered me about the episode. with that said i have a deep dislike for 8×09 wannabes, that episode pissed me off so much. they put so many of the characters to the sidelines while pushing forward brad. now i don't hate brad but they used so much time on him instead of the actual main characters who got every shortened arcs because of it. and my whole thing is why focus so much attention on him? they could of made the madney arc longer, they could of made eddie's arc longer (they could of made all the main characters arcs a whole lot longer) and it's supposed to be the mid season finale, where is the drama? i don't know it just made me so mad. that was the worst episode of the season, arguably the entire show.

i know other people are tired of female characters having stories revolving motherhood but god it is so nice to get stories about it that are actually... written with care? i imagine some of the fatigue around these stories is bc of how it's done with the assumption that all women must be or want to be mothers or it's done without any actual examination of the woman's characterization--and i also get tired of those! but there are so many female characters who specifically do not have or want kids as well these days, so i am glad that we can have a balance of ones who are fine without kids but also ones who are well-written as mothers??? idk. it makes me happy that we can have both, because parenthood will always be a thing, even if some people... equate their own preference of avoiding those stories altogether with automatic misogyny when a story does include it at all.
