To be honest, supposedly progressive people deciding they can be as homophobic as they like as soon as a gay man stops fitting their ideals is a pretty time honored pattern. I remember how this site and the worse blue site acted with Pete Buttigieg.

#disk horse #I’m in BuckTommy Joy Mode so I’m not going to dwell on it but it’s a thought I had #conditional acceptance is a problem among some progressives #there were plenty of reasons to dislike Buttigieg’s policies for being purposefully middle of the road #basically compromising with republicans before even coming to the table #which would only result in an even worse deal #but that wasn’t really what people talked about #it was all gay jokes and insults to Chasten and shit
