This is the kind of person who has main character energy, but not in an obnoxious "look at me" way, more like a "low-key mysterious but actually an absolute sweetheart who accidentally makes people fall in love with them" type. (Honestly, teach me your ways, mysterious heartthrob.) They’re a dreamer, but not the delusional kind. I have a strong feeling that pile 3 already know their person at the very least, they’re connected to your past in a really poetic way. The 6 of Cups is screaming, "This ain't no random fling, this is destiny, baby!" There’s a familiarity about them, like the feeling of revisiting your childhood home after years of being away. There’s also a chance that this person is deeply sentimental, they might keep old love letters, hoard little trinkets from meaningful moments, or be the type to remember the exact date you first texted them "lol" and took it as a sign from the universe. They’re romantic, but in a quiet, "let me show you, not just tell you" kinda way.

Physically? ELEGANT. LUXURIOUS. GOURGEOUS. 10/10. I also have the feeling that for some of you, this person might be quite rich as well. I also recommend Promised, in which they kind of play the Green card angle to keep Edwin out of Hell? Which honestly needs to be more of a trope. And Tight Quarters, starring the boys trapped in a magic circle, leading to Forced Proximity induced Feelings Realization (in more ways than one! 😉).

I love some domestic fluff, in this case as an Everyone's Alive/Childhood Friends AU in which the boys are poor but happy living together. I liked how they both survive their respective traumas, but Reality Ensues.

I also recommend Lived My Whole Life Before the First Light for a lovely but melancholy Soulmate AU that goes for the "seeing colours" trope for extra wistful angst.

Meeting the Parents fic in which Edwin's parents are awful and Charles is Not Having It. This has Everyone Thinks They're Dating and autistic Edwin stimming representation, plus discussions of racism, classism and ableism. The fic is also part of a great Modern AU series in which the boys attended St Hilarion's at the same time and Charles saved Edwin from a non-supernatural but still almost deadly prank. Highly recommended!

The Case of the Couples Retreat by juliasfanart

Listen, I can't get enough of undercover fake dating/relationships at a couples retreat, OK? Some minor angst but overall very cute and fluffy.

inukag was born to be shipped by me and I was born to ship inukag as well

For ages now I've been meaning to write about the reasons why I ship Inukag as fervently as I do and @inukag-week felt like the perfect opportunity to indulge myself, so here we go.

I want to start with how aesthetically pleasing they are. From their perfect size difference to the complimentary color scheme of their outfits plus contrasting hair and eye colors, Inuyasha and Kagome just look absolutely good together.

Their character design makes it clear from the get go that they're visually a great match. The association is so strong that the audience becomes unable to picture one without the other, as if they're two halves of the same item. Different, yet unequivocally a team, a pair.

Decades ago, they already had that classic quality to them and I bet they'd never get out of style even decades from now. And the rich lore that surrounds the pairing only adds to that aesthetic: the well, the tree, the beads, the robe, the sword, all of it enhances how iconic they are. Even something as ordinary as star gazing becomes uniquelly theirs.

Futhermore, I just absolutely love the entire concept of it. The subvertion of the fairy tale archetype, the idea of a love that transcends time, of soulmates who actually work on building their bond. Loving each other was both inevitable and a choice they made every single day.

Inuyasha and Kagome were just two teenagers from different worlds — literally and figurativelly — discovering together what love was. This made their relationship very compelling, because the excange between them is insanely substancial.

And their overall dynamic is so wholesome. There was a push and pull, a give and take, that made it fluid rather than static. Every single milestone felt organic and kept the audience thirsting for the next one.

Nothing felt forced or rushed. The slow burn was competently written to showcase their relationship being build on a very strong foundation, consistent in intimacy, mutual trust and acceptance — recurring themes for them and for the story — and so the stages of their bond had such a natural pace, it highlighted how genuine and healthy it was.

Consequently, there are so many aspects of their connection to explore. There's a never ending room for angst and for light hearted moments and you can adopt a more mature perspective or go for comical instead: they manage to be versatile without being generic and to embod the best clichés in fiction without becoming one themselves.

It's hard to think of a trope they couldn't pull off or an alternate universe that doesn't work for them. It gives the fandom plenty of freedom to be creative and to have the best time with it.

Plus, their chemistry was off charts. The romantic tension bleed through every single interaction. Their passion is so strong you could feel it even in scenes that had nothing to do with romance. And they didn't even need to kiss to achieve that level of synchrony.

They were also compatible. Inuyasha and Kagome balance each other quite nicely. Even in a relationship, they still keep their individualities and remain interesting both as characters and as a ship.

The very thing that dooms most pairings — opposite personalities — is precisely what keeps them together. Inuyasha and Kagome are completely different from each other, but they're actually extremely similar where it actually matters: their morals and goals.

And they longer they stay together, challenging one another, growing through trials and tribulations, inadvertently learning what each other's needs are and fulfilling them, easing each other's sorrows, covering each other's backs, saving each other's lives in every possible way, learning each other and learning with one another, the more their dichotomy turns into a duality, because they gain a more nuanced perspective of themselves, of each other and of the world.

It's a level of understanding, closeness and respect incredibly difficult to match. And for Inuyasha and Kagome, no one else even came close.

Another thing is that they're not just complementary to each other, but to the story itself. Their romance enhaces the overall plot. It has a structural placement in the wider narrative, strengthening its core themes and fulfilling the characters individual arcs, ultimately resulting in a more compelling journey.

So many romances are disposable to their own story, but Inukag was detrimental to theirs. Inuyasha and Kagome's interactions served as pivotal points of their respective arcs. Taking only the narrative into consideration, their relationship holds a lot of weight and greatly influenced everyone around it and it tied everything together.

That's why their happy ending felt so satisfying: it feels earned because everything went full cycle. All of that symbolism, all of those parallels paid off. Anything different from what we got would simply lack narrative and thematic cohesion.

And even if they didn't end up together, they could never be circumstancial. There was a real reason why they met, a reason why the fell in love and why they had ever lasting impacts on each other's lives regardless. It wasn't just love for love's sake.

This is what makes them, in my opinion, an epic ship.

BONUS: their soundtrack is lit and their quotes are simply legendary.

SxF RA 2025: volume 1! (pt 1)

Okay originally I had things all in one post but that was... a lot 😂 so now we're splitting into three posts! Here's the first one, answering the volume specific questions! It's a bit more scattered than I hoped but here we go...! (this post is spoiler free for future chapters)

There are several genres introduced/riffed on in volume 1 (comedy, spy-thriller, horror, slice-of-life, school age, and so on). Which stood out to you most on re-read? Is that different to your first read of the series? Are there any you want more of?

So when I set out, I assumed the spy-thriller and comedy would actually be the genres that stood out most, but for this volume, I think 'drama' was the primary one? I'm using drama broadly here, what I really mean is the focus was so much on developing the characters and family, wholesomely, that the other genres (spy-thriller, horror, school age, comedy, romance, etc) felt like supporting genres rather than primary. Even slice-of-life doesn't feel right just yet, since it's serialising the character, relationship and plot development so much in these first few chapters: though I suppose slice-of-life may be closest to 'drama' in that sense!

Do you think the themes introduced in volume 1 have stayed the same throughout the series? How have they changed or evolved?

I think yes! One of the things that I realised was that by having Twilight and Yor be at the top of their professions, it really enabled SxF to focus entirely on emotional development and personal growth. If Twilight and/or Yor were also trying to get to the top of WISE or Garden, story time would be diverted to their training or levelling up or whatever else. Instead, the focus remains where it started: the family, and growing and healing, together.

Which is long preamble to say: the central theme being finding a home and love and acceptance and safety remains strong through SxF, aye!

SXF feels unique among other manga within the demographic. During the re-read, was there a moment in volume 1 that made you go, "Right, this is what SXF is about"?

🤔 I wouldn't say a specific moment, no... There are standouts of course, but I don't think there was one that epitomised SxF for me, rather that happens when taking as a whole, or collecting several key moments...

"Family" is a big aspect in SXF. As the titular family, what do you think the Forgers represent within the themes of SXF?

This is such an interesting question and I feel like this might be my central guiding question for the re-read...! As it is, I don't feel like I have more than general percolating thoughts atm...

Many of the Forgers' interactions with each other and with other characters reveal important parts of their personalities and characterization. Is there a character-defining moment that feels extra special for you?

I'll do one each! Oddly, for Twilight, this moment stood out in a way it hadn't before:

Not character defining exactly, and I'm not entirely sure what to make of Twilight's reaction here. I'm leaning towards him not liking the joke namely because Anya's history of adoption isn't really all that funny. And potentially also that Twilight doesn't regard his work as funny either. But also Franky's right: as is clear in chapter 1 & 2 (and when Bond comes along!), and becomes clearer and clearer as the series progresses, each of the Forgers are made for one another as a group and in duos, because of their atypical statuses. Yor's right, in chapter 2, when she says no one else would understand or accept her (okay, maybe not no one, but very, very, very few would understand her like Twilight does) and vice versa. Who are better to adopt and raise a telepath who will have to live at least part of her life in secret? My thoughts aren't totally cohesive here, but this is the line I'm following!

I think this is an important character moment for Yor in chapter 3, and tells us a lot about her moral centre and also indicates something about her character arc, I think (and her affect on Twilight!)

And for Anya, this panel from chapter 4 I think says a lot about who she is, even as she's just a five year old who's also still becoming herself:

How do you think each Forger's secret identity plays into their roles within the family? What do they set up and what do they say about their characters, themes, or plot?

I'm really hoping other people have thoughts on this because I'm so curious! I've been pondering this question for days and haven't really landed on something firm...

Was there a character who you feel has changed the most since their first impression in volume 1?

Yor 💕 that's partly me paying much closer attention to her than on my first read-through (and watch-through), and it's partly her deliberate, intentionally written growth over the course of the story.

Was there a character who you expected to see later on but didn't? Or someone you thought wasn't important but later was?

I figured Swann would make another appearance, but honestly I'm happy Endo zeroed in on Henderson instead! I also thought there may be a slim chance the other interviewing teacher would turn up again? But not so far. He seemed kind though. Hi gang I’m back on my Caleb x Zayne x Sylus college band au

I have decided to make Zayne a literature nerd instead of my original compsci idea (mostly because idk anything abt compsci and I’m too lazy to research but also doesn’t Zayne strike you as someone who would’ve done literature if he didn’t go to med school?) it just suits him better methinks.

And since I love and I mean ADORE Luke and Kieran SO much they’re also making an appearance as Sylus’ cute chaotic baby brothers! Same age difference, he’s 23, they’re 13, and Sylus is their doting older brother and pretty much their parental figure (they don’t have parents :( aww)

Anyways I’m thinking wholesome family dynamics with them WAAAAY later down the line because 1) slooooowwwwww burn 2) Sylus never tells anyone about his personal life, not even Caleb and Zayne despite how close they got but one day he does end up confiding in them and they’re like “Sylus you madman why didn’t you tell us before” and then after school hours they let the twins hang around for band practice and they all bond with each other

Ya know like Caleb teaching Luke how to play the drums or something, Kieran is glued to Zayne for some reason and Sylus just looks at them and he’s like “life is so much easier now, shit. Should’ve done this before” and he realises that sharing your woes does make the burden lighter and they’re all enjoying each other’s company so much too. Sylus gets a break from taking care of those two. Caleb and Zayne are more than happy to babysit them.

And Sylus, the man that he is…. A very overprotective older brother, if you mess with Luke and Kieran you should start running immediately. He’s usually calm smug and level headed until it comes to his babies. This facet of his personality is so very charming to Zayne and Caleb, who absolutely SWOON when they see him taking care of them.

One time some asshole tried messing with the boys. They all saw. Before Zayne and Caleb even processed what happened, Sylus was already there, knocked the guy out cold on the pavement, spat on him and turned away to check on Luke and Kieran who ran into his arms, and he hugged them patting their heads

Zayne and Caleb could only just watch in awe, a little scared, quite endeared and very turned on.

“Lord have mercy, did you see that?”

“Gods, holy shit, I did, I did”

They both speak, eyes glued on Sylus, who catches them staring so shamelessly. He’s completely oblivious to how hot that was. To him, it was just him being him. To them, it seemed like they just witnessed God himself descend from the heavens.

“What” he asks

“Nothing…”

“That was kinda…. Nevermind”

And I’m also thinking of like putting some tender moments in there with Sylus and Luke and Kieran as in idk maybe they have a nightmare or something and Sylus hears his bedroom door open slowly

“What’s the matter?” He asks getting up

“Bad dream?” They both nod. Wordlessly he lifts his blanket and they both crawl in on either side as he put his arms around them

“It’s ok, you’re with me, you’re safe” he says and gently pats their heads reassuringly. And they do feel safe with him. So they drift off soon enough.

Dear Raven ven venny ven, do you have any favourite ships in the twst cast? If so, why?

I don’t have any ships among the TWST cast that I’m crazy about! That doesn’t mean I “hate” all the combinations, it’s just that I feel neutral about most of them. I would say I’m pretty open to considering rare pairs and all kinds of tropes (enemies to lovers, childhood friends, etc.), but I’ve yet to find one in TWST that solidly lands with me.

Certainly there are dynamics I enjoy—the Science Club boys, for example—but do I see them being romantically engaged with one another? Eeeeeh, debatable. I could really go either way.

It’s actually easy to (temporarily) influence my takes on certain ships 😂 Sometimes I’ll listen to my friends talk ad nauseam about a ship they’re super into and their excitement is so infectious that it rubs off on me. I’ll go, “Wow, that really is a cute interaction! I can see why you ship them.” This had happened before with Malleus x Cater a few years back, though now I’ve returned to a neutral state on it since the shipper friend hasn’t been as active talking about the two. I appreciate my friends for popping off because even if I don’t have the same passion as they do for the ship, it helps me see the characters and their interactions under a new lens or from a different angle. (I actually wrote a fic where Cater takes Malleus to a maid cafe, inspired by my friend’s speeches about the duo. It’s meant to be platonic, but I think it could also be read as romantic if you choose to view it that way.)

I get easily influenced by fan art too, even if I don’t know the creator on a personal level. A few weeks back, I saw this Jade x Jamil post and it was so wholesome and tooth rottingly sweet (even though it was a ship I did not gave the time of day to before) 😭 And then I started to think about their similarities (both vice dorm leaders, both passive aggressive, both manipulators, etc.) and gradually convinced myself “Hey, it could work!” Now that I’ve had some time to be weaned off of the fan art though, I’m back to that baseline feeling of neutrality. It’s the exposure therapy wearing off/j

On the topic of Yuu (they’re technically a part of the TWST cast), I’m particularly lukewarm about any ships involving them—and Yuu ships are the only exception to my “I’m easily influenced to change my mind” rule; I’m always neutral about Yuu ships. They’re a blank slate, so the dynamics they have with other characters changes drastically depending on what “kind” of Yuu they are. I don’t have a Yuusona of my own, nor do I project onto Yuu, so I find little value in their character (or lack thereof). This extends to ships too; because I don’t see (my) Yuu as a “real” character, I also don’t see the potential in shipping them with those in the cast. I’ll support everyone’s right to their own Yuu and related ships, but I don’t necessarily get gung-ho about them unless I know the creators well. This is because the familiarity I have with them then extends to their Yuus; I can see bits of them and their own personalities and experiences in their Yuus, and that makes me feel like I have a more meaningful bond with whatever their interpretation (and romantic involvement!) is.

Of course, there are also some ships that I don’t like or that personally make me uncomfortable (for example, incest ships) 💦 I don’t want to like… yuck your yums, so I won’t go into explicit detail about which other ships I’m not a fan of or would prefer as platonic. Regardless of how I may feel about those, I don’t want to give the impression that I’m going to judge you for what you do or don’t ship. You do you—just be sure to respect boundaries and don’t push what you ship onto others, especially if they have indicated they’re not into the same things you are.

Just to make things clear, please do NOT send me asks like “Here is my ship and here is why you should consider it!” and “How do you feel about [Character A] x [Character B]?” or any variant (which includes polycules, love triangles, etc.). I will also not be responding to asks pressing me for which ships I dislike. I won’t be providing a tier list either since there are way too many possible combinations to account for. Shipping talk with strangers/the public makes me anxious and I’d rather not have that level of stress on a consistent basis.

"Eternal Attachment" Post Zayne Birthday Event Review + Delulu

Note: Please take this with a grain of salt as I cry myself for this one. This is personal opinion and delulu brain working so no need to go violent at me as none of this was confirmed beside the cannon events connected to his birthday. MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. YOU ARE WARNED!!!! MINORS DO NOT INTERACT FOR NSFW CONTENTS

First Things first. Please stop comparing Rafayel's and Zayne's Birthday Event because they are special in their own way. Plus I trust that the dev knows what they are doing. In my opinion, they are basing the stories on the boys personalities and overall impact to the main stories. True we ain't able to give him a kiss on his birthday but we marked him on Misty invasion. All is fair guys! And if the dev give us same plots, then what are we going t look forward to?

Zayne's birthday event left us with warm feeling and overall stronger bond with him. His character development and relationship development is awesome and the fact the he easily smiles now gives me satisfaction. I love him so much.

The most memorable part of this event for me is the recording of Zayne's video message to his parents and him holding our hands in front of everyone. When he mentioned that "they already know you" it means he talks about us to his parents. This is again something so intimate yet so wholesome. He did really love us. And the holding hands is showing that he is taking claim on us. Yes, Zayne! I belong to you!

Zayne and M/C had s3x after the cake scene. Ok this is the delulu me, but M/C subtly offer her self to Zayne when she says "the birthday boy is allowed to be greedier than usual" and Zayne mentioning "my appetite is perfect for handling anything from you", "perhaps, it's because I already taste something sweeter" this might be just my imagination but remember that In the previous Banner he tasted "us" solidifying the fact that we are indeed and not just in a relationship with him but we are already intimate.

Dawn breaker is present in Zayne's body during this event/ This is yet a again a mix of canon and delulu. Canon because in Zayne's anecdote, Dawnbreaker was there during M/C singing happy birthday. Delulu because I feel like Dawnbreaker never left he is the one delivering the line "I wish that in the years to come, I won't have to imagine spending everyday of my life with someone". Think about it his way, Why would Dr. Zayne imagine that he is with us, when he is actually and physically with us? And the more deluded part of my brain tells me he is there as well when we are being intimate with Zayne and Zayne is actually aware of Dawnbreaker.

From here on will be the dark and sad side of the delulu I'm in due to this card. When I mention that Dr. Zayne was aware of Dawnbreaker being present in him, it is because he mention in the Daily Task Episode that "he just stops being afraid in the monster the lurks in them" (his dreams). Perhaps he don't view them as dreams anymore and he as aware that he have another presence/persona in a different time.

That being said, Dr. Zayne might also be aware of Foreseer and Master of Fate causing him to almost always speaks so formally and in 3rd person speech.

Dr. Zayne might also be aware of the killing Dawnbreaker needs to do to people that turns to wanderers. And this might also explain his needs to always save lives not just M/C. Dr. Zayne might be trying to save lives to compensate to the life lost on Dawnbreaker's hands. Oh no I am so so sad about this.

And the finally, Dr. Zayne might also be aware that Dawnbreaker does not have his version of M/C in his timeline. Since (delulu) he comes to terms that they are the same person on a different timeline, he is willing to share his happiness to his other self. And that happiness is M/C. This might also explain the touchiness and neediness from Zayne, cause they are 2 people longing for her.

Final Thoughts. It must really be twisted to have them at the same time. No pun intended. But if Dr. Zayne and Dawnbreaker is indeed present at that exact time, I really don't mind. I'll take any version of Zayne anytime. He have done so much for us and if I'm making him more happy by celebrating the day with both of them, I will gladly do so. Might it be Dr. Zayne or Dawnbreaker, they deserve all the happiness in the world.

Thoughts on narugaa?

naruto doesn’t see gaara that way, is never implied to, not even potentially. that would be enough for me to not ship it, but i find its shippers annoying so i also have thoughts on what they say.

narugaa is basically gay naruhina with minimal improvement. the improvement is that naruto at least has a relationship with gaara, he’s at least gaara’s friend in a way and has important interactions/insights with/about him (like them both being jinchuuriki and all). hinata gets even less than that, she gets naruto’s sympathy in chunin exams because what neji says about her can be applied to what people generally feels about naruto himself, and that affects him personally. nothing ever comes out of this though, naruto and hinata do not bond or even have a relationship because of his sympathy, in the end, this situation is more about his character and his goals, not hinata as a person or a potential influence over him.

i said naruto doesn’t see gaara in a romatic lense, but i do think gaara sees naruto that way. i obviously disagree with those people that say every guy is in love with naruto, that’s bullshit, naruto just changes people’s minds about him, and earns their respect and even admiration. but think it’s different with gaara. naruto “saved” him. but well, both gaara and hinata have this in common... naruto doesn’t reciprocate either of them, and he also has no chemistry with either lol. naruto rejects gaara in front of his family because of sasuke. naruto doesn’t pay any thoughts to hinata’s confession and then says the same things she said to him but to sasuke one arc later. and both fandoms seem to direct a lot of hate towards sasuke, who can’t be the right person to naruto because he is sooo toxic, because narusasu is not wholesome, because naruto and gaara’s friendship is soooo gentle and soft, sasuke isn’t like him (after his 180 twist) or hinata, who can only ever worship naruto and the ground he walks on. gaara and hinata do not challenge naruto in any way. and of course, those shippers also ignore important points of the story and of naruto’s character, like WHY narusasu is “toxic” and how despite all that, sasuke is exactly who naruto wants, he’s the only fish in the sea.

as if that’s not enough, this delulu fandom loves to fantasise about sasuke dying so naruto could be with gaara... i wonder why do they feel the need to take sasuke out of the picture? i guess they missed the fact that naruto would rather die if sasuke did too. and the biggest irony of them all is how narugaa shippers act like they are on a higher moral ground because narugaa is soooo wholesome and gentle uwu sanitised gays <3 as if gaara wasn’t on a killing spree for funsies, naruto and his comrades being no exception. wow so pure indeed. i guess it doesn’t matter cause gaara did a 180 twist and became a boring naruto follower, and he would honestly bore naruto in a relationship as much as hinata. boring ship for boring liars.

Imagine this- Invader Zim, except Zim is genuinely just a senial old man and Dib is just a delusional kid.

Dib, who is just SO CONVINCED that there’s no way this old guy is human. And he comes to visit the retirement home all the time just to “foil Zim’s evil plans” when in reality all Dib is doing is stopping the old man from like- Escaping or causing old people havoc. Dib is lowkey still neglected in this universe, but like his dad isn’t some crazy famous scientist. I think he just works a really good position for like- Microsoft or something- So a little less weird than canon yk? As for Dibs weird alien claims on Zim- The old man lowkey just lets it progress just to fuck around with the kid.

And Zim? Well personality wise he basically the same. He might be like- An old war veteran who’s in denial about his so-called “Feats” in the army- And thinks his pals still wanna hang out with him when in reality their all either dead or total assholes to him. So he’s not THAT different- So Dib and Zim still have that kind of banter, And it’s the same sort of cat and mouse bond that they share in canon, although a whole lot more wholesome in some aspects.

There’s also Gir, who is Zims grandnephew who he basically treats like a little slave but it’s kinda adorable. And the nurses of the home find it sweet that the 12 year old Dib takes time out of his day to visit the old kook- who basically lost almost all his family a long time ago. (Also, the distraction is quite a spectacle) there would be other characters introduced- But the main basis is that mostly Irkens are now just old people in the home- Like Skoodge, Tak, Red and Purple etc. stuff like that. I just thought this would be silly tbh. Bro really has beef with an old man, what a loser lol-

RARARARRARARARARARRARA I AM ACTUALLY BARKING I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED 😁👁️

JonTim. First of all, to understand these two it is vital you Know they never dated. Never. Not once did the two of them date. Not for lack of feelings, they had plenty, but because they just never got the chance. They never had time. They were doomed, they were an unchangeable tragedy.

I firmly believe pre season 1, before our beloved horror podcast even starts taking place, pre promotion in Research Days they had stupid little crushes on each other. No bad feelings like in later developed seasons, purely wholesome feelings of nothing but adoration and awe. They were actual friends, the amount of shit those two got in together out following up on statements or whatever, they were like no one else. Nobody else had a bond like those two, not even Tim and Sasha. They were each others person.

I do think when Tim had finally gathered the stones and was ready, he planned on asking Jon out the next Friday. But then they got promoted.

Season One.

They never had time. Jon got busy and despite his overall done-with-everything-and-everyone vibe in S1 it never really came about when it was Just Tim. Just them alone again. Maybe in a sarcastic way but never really. Tim put off asking him out, figuring they were busy now and there would be a better time. He didn’t know now was the best time he would get, because every time after would be worse. If he had known maybe he would have asked. Maybe later he thinks about that in kicks himself in retrospect. Maybe he thinks about Jon when he presses the detonator.

Season Two.

S2 was perfect. The angst is setting in. Jon was paranoid. Everyone was a little paranoid sometimes after the Prentiss incident but Jon was the worst of it. Tim had started seeing him outside his house for god sakes. Jon was so suspicious of Tim, and less because he truly thought he was up to something and more so because he needed to Know Tim wasn’t. He needed to Know the one person who had been there wasn’t doing anything. Obviously Tim took it as suspicion and that drove wedge through them a bit. Their argument in episode 65 is SUCH a lovers quarrel energy. It’s SUCH a lover quarrel. Because you can love someone and be as angry as they were at each other. Those things can be felt simultaneously, and believe me when I tell you I do wholeheartedly believe they never loved anyone else the way they loved each other. Tim and Sasha were iconic, Jon and Martin were iconic and undeniably in love, but it wasn’t the type of love Jon and Tim had, nothing could ever rival that, and nothing ever did. If there was an option when Jon was happy with Martin in the safe house, happily in love if he could have Tim back alive, back with him but Martin wouldn’t be with them, he would hesitate.

Season Three. (The Grande Finale)

Tim has never been angrier. He is so alone. Nobody understands, not even the one person who used to understand everything, his everything, didn’t get it anymore. Tim’s lost everything. He doesn’t have anything left for him anymore. I’m not even sure if most of S3 he even knew Jon still loved him, but he knows in the end. Despite being in the Unknowing, Tim knows. He’s aware at the end. He knows Jon loves him more than anything, and he knows he feels the same. He knows then that there has never been a time Jon did not love him. He knows he’s glad to do this, to get back at something and his last moments to be a big ‘Fuck You’ to these entities, this thing that took his brother and in turn his entire life, but he knows he’s going to miss Jon, if you can miss from the grave. Even if you can’t he will miss Jon enough that he can. He knows he’s never going to see his love again, never will he make him laugh, or get stoned somewhere in the Institute like they did in Research Days, Tim regrets in these last moments never asking Jon. He thinks of how different things would have been if he had. And he doesn’t want to think of that anymore. He thinks of everything he’s doing, how now that this is what’s happening he won’t (can’t) change it, and grins, his last moments the biggest ‘Fuck You’ anyone’s ever seen. He thinks of a time he made Jon laugh in Research Days, remembers how pretty he thought Jon looked laughing, and he clicks the detonator.

Season Four (Encore.)

Jon wakes up six months later from a coma. Once he can form a coherent thought it’s about Tim. Where is he? What room is he in? After everything, after all this they had survived, and Jon knows Now. Now he has to make a move, he has to hold and be held by his friend, his lover. It’s a good thing Georgie and Basira are there when he wakes up, he can ask them. Ask them what room Tim was in. When he asks if Tim is alive it’s just for clarification, he knows what answer he’s going to get, that Tim was somewhere in the hospital. His heart shatters when they’re silent. Oh. He’s just woken up from a six month long coma and the love of his life is dead. No this couldn’t be happening. Please. Not Tim. He gets dizzy and he can’t see straight, too consumed by the hard hitting feeling of grief because for the first time ever, Tim is not there. He’s nowhere. He isn’t anymore. He was all he wanted and he did not exist anymore. He was ready now, he was going to ask Tim. Even now Tim was gone they paralleled each other, Jon was ready to ask and he couldn’t anymore, and Tim was ready to ask and felt he couldn’t. Death couldn’t stop them from being intertwined irreversibly with each other. Nothing could.

Season Five (honourable mention.)

Jon still feels him around. He’s happy with Martin but some night when he’s staring up at the ceiling he is reminded of earlier times of being absolutely baked at work with Tim, staring up at the ceiling of his office while they lay on the floor. He thinks of Tim laughing, and realizes he can still imagine Tim’s voice perfectly. And he misses him more than anything. He can feel him around the safe house sometimes, thinks he hears his voice. Sometimes he hears Martin’s footsteps and turns around faster than you’d ever see because for just a moment, he thinks it’s someone else. He loves Martin. But it’s not the way he loved Tim. Nothing will ever be like how he loved Tim. He just wants Tim back sometimes. He wants his best friend. He wants his lover back. And sometimes he can hear Tim’s voice so clearly in his head, imagines what he’d say if he could see Jon now. He can feel Tim’s hand gently in his face, wiping the stray tear away like he had done once before in research days. He can feel himself burying his face in Tim’s chest or shoulder. He missed Tim. Nothing would ever make that feeling go away. Tim would always be, and always had been his lover. Because you don’t need to be dating to be lovers, as long as you do love each other you are lovers. And no one could take that love from them. Jon obviously thinks about Martin and being happy Somewhere Else when he dies, but for a quick fleeting second, the last second he is alive, he thinks about Tim. And how maybe if he ends up Sonewhere Else it would be him Jon saw.

God. Sunstone. Both in regular canon and SolarFlare they're absolute cringefails to me. The latter just hide it better. Gonna be talking about canon for the most part here

Honestly canon sunstone is pretty tragic? Its two flawed people making every single bad decision, and eventually losing eachother as a result. By the time they actually Think and realise what they both did wrong, its much too late to apologise and make things right

I think that if the circumstances were different they'd be able to have a really good, wholesome relationship

Maybe if Pebbles was less desperate to find the triple affirmative. Maybe if the situation before Moons collapse was less tense, if Suns contacted him earlier. If Suns had thought a little harder about the consequences of sending that gold pearl, if they were a little less weak for him, less indulgent. 

I suppose that hindsight is everything. They both regret what happened between them. Especially at the end there. 

Okay now for less depressing shit lmao

Their relationship was purely mentor/mentee for a little while and slowly turned into a very close friendship. They both enjoy art, poetry and music and share many views, which they bonded over. And while Suns might not share the same love for history that he has, they're more than willing to listen. And maybe go out of their way to find out new tidbits for him if they can

They never confess, i don't think. They both develop feelings, but Pebbles is too busy to pay much attention to it and Suns just doesn't quite have the nerve to do anything except hint at it. And then unofficially divorced once the second pearl reaches him in Spearmaster's campaign

Pebbles finally gets his shit together sometime during Arti's campaign. She brings back a pearl about marriage traditions and it suddenly clicks for him. Not really the best time to find out, honestly. What with everything going on. Not even truly Finding Out, since he can't actually ask them if thats what the whole thing meant. 

They never speak again, and neither gets closure about it. They both keep their rings though.

Now a little bit about SolarFlare specifically because they actually get together and meet in person in that! Wont be able to say too much without brain getting on my case for revealing too much though lmao. SF sunstone are Extremely exaggerated in their everything, so obviously not saying canon compliant off the string would be quite like this 🙏

They dont become a thing until they've actually met in person, though the line between being close and being Close was blurred for a bit before this point

They're like,, really abnormal about eachother. Like its genuinely obsession for them. They be jealous and posessive and codependent as hell. Both of them. Its not healthy, but they are genuinely really happy with eachother. Kinda made for eachother in that way. They're eachother's favourite people and they Will make it other people's problem

End up marrying at some point (after having an actual conversation about it this time), and its both because they wanna show love and devotion but also because they're very about it being a way to claim eachother. And that being visible to others

I kind of ship it, but... in a really vague way...?

For me, it's not really Okonogi x Hoshina x No. 10, but Okonogi x Hoshina + No. 10.

Like it's OkoHoshi... and No. 10 is also there in some capacity lol

The type of capacity varies depending on whatever scenario I'm thinking of in the moment (angsty, fluffly, funny, smutty, etc.) - but while Hoshina and No. 10 are two halves of the same coin, I don't view their bond as romantic at all? Queer-platonic might be a suitable descriptor, but I’m too out of the loop on these things to say for sure >.<;;;

Let me try to explain…

Basically, I don't see No. 10 as a romantic or sexual being at all. The only way he'd experience these feelings would be through Hoshina, but by that point I view his involvement as more of an extension of Hoshina's role rather than a full third party, at least where romantic and/or sexual interaction is concerned.

So in a 'sex with the suit on' setting for example, I think he'd get to feel some of what Hoshina feels and understands the appeal of it... but like... he's kind of just along for the ride.

Of course, that's mostly on the topic of racy scenarios! My 'main timeline' kind of thoughts tend to be more on the wholesome side, wherein No. 10 doesn't really get involved in their sex life but is part of the equation outside of that (especially since I imagine my OkoHoshi fankid wearing No. 10 eventually... things could get real awkward.)

Regarding the emotional side of things, I do really like the idea of Hoshina's thoughts and feelings bleeding into No. 10 over time. We know the Numbers tend to bring out a wearer's base impulses, and No. 10 obviously does this for Hoshina by making him more honest about his motivations and lust for battle. But I also like to think Hoshina would affect No. 10 as well! And so as Hoshina comes to accept his feelings for Okonogi, No. 10 comes to appreciate her too in his own kaiju way lol Or we can go in an entirely different what-if direction! Want something tragic? Maybe when Hoshina dies, Okonogi tries wearing No. 10 to see his ghost and they bond over missing him. Want something screwed up? Maybe No. 10 takes over Hoshina's body and eats Okonogi as a confused form of cuteness aggression—

Okay, that last one might be a bit too screwed up >.>

But that's why I like this trio so much! There are so many directions to take them in, and they're all interesting. So while I don't personally look at it as a "Girlfriend x Boyfriend x Boyfriend" kind of OT3, it's certainly something. (But of course, folks are free to disagree one way or the other! These are just my thoughts.)

Okay, so lets see ships alternatives for the crows if they weren't with their canon LI

This wasn't exactly personal taste (you´ll understand when you read it) if it was personal taste and my multiship likeness it would be Nina/Inej, Kaz/Matthias, Wylan/Kuwei and Jesper with a self insert named Lulu. And obviously each partner options are on the case they don't have romantic feelings for their canon partner.

I did this thinking on story alternatives. Spoiler: there´s only one crow x crow pairing and most of them are crack ships. Now let´s star:

Nina, i name her first because this may be dissapointing: I think it should still be Hanne, technically cheating but i can take her old friend Nestor as a dead lover and Hanne as the eventual endgame. The difference being she actually encounters Hanne at the Ice Court then the Nik Duology happens.

Matthias: Saying Kaz is tempting, but i will actually say: Alys. She is is about the crows age after all. My reasoning was that she still has a personality extroverted enought to provide a fun constrast, matches Matthias´s gentlemany manners, i could see her being like "hey, you sound like one of the kidnappers, the one that rubbed my feet" and having a small lived romance., or he may as well even get to live here.

Wylan: Kuwei honestly, i see Wylan being nice to him until they sort of start being annoying to each other, then developing a frienship eventually when they bond over being lonely and the loss of their fathers (metaphorically with Wylan)

The next ones are on cancellable land, just remember this is purely an experiment.

Inej: if you are wondering why i didn't write Nina despite being a very Ninej enthusiast, well the think is that they´d be too perfect, beautiful but if i want the slowburn and something to build a main couple energry, i think Jesper would be a better fit. In canon, Inej was Jesper´s person before Wylan came, as much as he was besties with Bollinger and close to Kaz, she always was his best friend. Jesper also always respected her. Now their individual struggles could give a decent subplot, Jesper not feeling he is good enought to her so he wouldn't bother to pursuing but still supporting her, Inej being the only person who tries to understand him, to me they are better with someone inside the group that with an outsider.

Kaz: So Kaz is the one i decided won't be in a wholesome romantic storyline, that can only happen with Inej. No, i am not saying Imogen, she is fine as an ex, and i think (no joking i mean it) Matthias is not a bad option honestly, like helnik´s hostility without the fluff. But the actual proposal i have is this: Saskia. Or whatever her real name could be. You see, lets say she is another member of the crew, a spy for Rollins, maybe Kaz knows, maybe he doesn't, she may regret whagt happened to Jordie but doesn't know how to confess, maybe she didn't even know what she was doing since she was a child and wants revenge for whatever Kaz did to her, the posibilities are a lot enought to go crazy with the possible dynamic. Would probably not have a happy ending but would make an interesting story.

I would like to hear what alternatives people would give instead. Pure fanfic and au talk here, wheter if i agree or disagree.

~ Sazed finding the metal writings of this Kwaan dude - are we getting a journal 2.0?? I've also had a different thought than in part 1, if Alendi isn't the writer of the journal is he a different prophesized Hero of Ages? Could there have been more that one?

~ With the book being titled The Well Of Ascension and Vin's worries about what the Lord Ruler meant with his dying words I'm guessing the Deepness is back and they'll have to destroy it and what not. Would explain the murderous mists during the day. (Could Vin be the Hero of Ages? Idk why but I had this thought in TFE too and she felt some pulses coming from the north which only she can feel 🤔)

~ I have no idea who the spy could be. At first I thought it might be a newer character like Tindwyl but if the kandra can't use Allomancy then the same should go for Feruchemy right? The Allomancers are out. So that leaves Dox? Is Dox the imposter?!

~ Watcher = Zane = Elend's clinically insane brother?! Did not see that coming. Overall his character is interesting (like he was in the Pits of Hathsin?!?) but I'm not enjoying the Vin/Zane plotline. I understand why it's there and it's a good way to get into Vin's insecurities and doubts but it's giving creepy stalker that can't take no for an answer.

~ Vin and Oreseur's little bonding scene was so wholesome. I haven't thought too much of him so far but this scene really opened up his character more.

~ The Elend and Straff meeting was a wild ride. I did not expect Elend to go all "I will kill you!" on his dad. And Vin thinking everything he said just reduced her to a weapon and him not knowing how that's affecting her. My babies are gonna need couples therapy 🥲

~ THE ENDING?! ELEND IS DEPOSED?? He's trying so hard to be a good king and like of course he's gonna make mistakes and fuck some things up but he genuinely only wants what is best for everyone. I hope the Assembly tanks.
