On a more serious note I love that they got two opposite "first meetings" because it accidentaly foreshadows Kagome bringing peace to Inuyasha's life and Inuyasha turning hers upside down.

Something I've been obsessing over a lot lately is the fact that Inuyasha and Kagome have completely different memories about when they first saw each other and they never really talked about it in canon.

So I like to imagine they're reminiscing the good old days years later and Inuyasha is like "yeah, it was such a crazy night, full of action and screaming and blood everywhere because a centipede demon swallowed the jewel and almost had us killed."

But Kagome is just like "actually, I first saw you way earlier that day and it was a really chill, really pretty morning."

"What?!"

"Thought you might be a little bit dead, tho. So I pet your ears."

"WHAT?!"

"Then the villagers came and shoot us with like a dozen arrows, if it makes you feel any better."

Kagome turned her head and met his gaze—heavy-lidded with exhaustion as it was, gold shadowed in the weak firelight—and said without hesitation, “No. I don’t.”

He closed his eyes and exhaled slowly, as if the admission pained him in some way, and muttered under his breath, “Idiot.”

“Maybe,” she replied evenly, still watching him across the fire. “But it was my choice.”
