5. a little birdy told me that tyler and aiden were gonna have some angst during the separation… could possibly be tyler totally breaking down because of his separation from taylor (red has confirmed they have separation anxiety) and then aiden has to awkwardly comfort him. OR it’s the other way around and tyler has to awkwardly comfort. i feel like tyler’s good at comforting but when it comes to aiden it’s a bit weird cause their relationship is more bickering than actually talking about feelings

What the everloving fuck was that. I just. I am devastated. Ok well I’m happy for Ed and Stede because of course I fucking am. But. What THE EVERLOVING FUCK.

Thoughts:

1- I refuse to let it sink in that a certain someone was gut stabbed and is now buried under a lovely cross (the unicorn leg, the scarf with the ring, get out stop). I will be anxiously awaiting the fanfic writers to fix this. Plz. I’m going to go on Ao3 immediately after I post this.

2- is that dream sequence of Stede’s actually foreshadowing? Because while Izzy does not die at his hand, Izzy dies due to Stede’s plan. Idk.

3- if Izzy doesn’t fucking haunt someone on the crew I’m done. He better show up like the Badmintons to call everyone cocksuckers or I sue.

4-Lucius and Pete got married and that brings me joy (in this pit of despair)

5- aw Ed. ED. I was cackling when he sucked at fishing and Pop pop was ready to fucking beat the shit out of him. Iconic. Also him just staring at the burning ships and being like “stede”. Stop. Also the I love you and the like I saw u do all that “cool” pirate stuff. And BABE. And THE LETTER.

6- Ed pt.2 IZZY AND ED. THAT SCENE STOP. While I don’t feel like Izzy should have died I think he was awesome this episode and definitely like came full character arc this season (the talk with our least favourite pirate wannabe and final words with Ed - I.e., Ed has so much family now. He can just be Ed)

7- Spanish Jackie being awesome and the bit about poison tolerance amongst the hubbies. I love her and the Swede and the Swede is finally getting some fucking respect and love and aw.

8- the seagull on Izzy’s grave. Hey buttons, love u

9- and the quad lives (shoutout to my lovely 4 Jim, Archie, Oluwande and Zheng Yi Sao). Also that moment between Zheng Yi and Auntie. Also Jim patching Auntie up.

11- how are we feeling about ep 8 Bonnet. I personally think he still needs some humbling. Idk because I’m happy about the progress he’s made re being made out to be a failure his whole life and coming to terms with that and becoming this more confident version of himself (I mean he had confidence from Day 1 but he was mighty plagued by all the Shit he went through in his youth). I enjoyed him “trying to protect” Zheng Yi when she wouldn’t run away when the navy because she was mighty fucked over losing Auntie and her crew (which my poor baby). Also I like Zheng Yi calling him out on his bullshit 24/7. But also idk I wanted him to like apologize or smtg because he was being a right dickhead the previous night. Also idk so happy Ed told Stede he loves him but like life’s a dick but so were u Stede… basically I love that Stede is unapologetically himself this season but also sometimes u do need to say ur sorry for being a dickhead.

12- the crew when Izzy died. The look on Jim’s face. Stop. I need to rewatch and look at Al their reactions but Jim’s caught my eye of the pain and sorrow because WE ALL LOVE IZZY NOW.

13- once again, Izzy better haunt someone or I sue

Since the writers are forgetting they had a book to follow I have a few theories and questions, that I'd like ur opinion on.

1. I hope Hugh and the other one I never seen to remember the name of don't actually betray Rhaenyra. She suffered a lot to have Vermithor on her side (even fighting with our love Jace) and I will be sooooo sad if all that she's done will meant nothing.

2. I think what Aemond asks Haelena in the tease is what actually make her jump, cause I feel she's seen that the Greens claim is full of shit since that incident in the last episode. So she rather die than be a part of a war that took her son.

3. Still about Haelena, she knows that it was Aemond who did that to Aegon and he's the one who caused the strings of events that led to her son's death, so I don't think she'll be willing to help him at any sort.

4. About Daemon in his madhouse, I think it was necessary for him to live that so he can make peace and forgive himself and to seek Rhaenyra's forgiveness with all of his will.

MAJOR hotd spoilers

1. i think they will definitely still betray her sadly its a core part of the story and tbh i think all this stuff with jace will be good foreshadowing to the event as much as i hate to admit it. maybe jace dies then rhaenyra gets haunted by the fact jacaerys was right idk i think they still will

2/3. i think its basically outright confirmed that helaena knows he did that to aegon. i think either she jumps next ep after aemond asks her to help bc tbh she has no choice and would have to help since he would basically outright force her too or maybe they’ll have her and her dragon die on dragonback ? it could be a nice way for her to go back i rlly think itll be the former. i dont see her wanting to help fight the war any longer. i think theyre setting up alicent not returning back to kings landing and leaving helaena behind which is what helaena was saying i forgive you for and then she’ll kill herself but thats just what i think.

edit: by not returning to kings landing i meant leaving like for real after she returns i should have clarified

4. as someone who doesnt gaf about daemon i have no opinion on this. i would prefer if he and nyra never interacted again LMAO i dont see him seeking forgiveness but idk

i would love to know ur thoughts on neverafter…i rlly enjoyed the first 4 episodes and it seemed that the players were interested into the horror threads that were taking root!

but now at ep 15 it seems that the horror tone has been lost ? like the red beads haven’t been brought up in some time, and the more horrific elements of the princesses’ stories (like beauty and the beast) isn’t rlly explored in the way that it could be. it’s interesting bc d20 is capable of sticking to a set tone (like acoc). the players are learning more toward comedy (+ the bits are hysterical), but at the expense of the overall tone of the season. what do you think?

Overall, I am very, very much enjoying Neverafter! The most recent episode in particular was my favorite so far, just surpassing the post-TPK episode. The characters are so dynamic and I swear that every single episode my rankings of fave characters shifts.

I have to disagree on the horror, only because I haven't really noticed much of a shift. I don't think the series was all that horrific from the start, and that's mainly because as with all D20 campaigns, it's not just gonna be horror- it's horror comedy. So, even though Brennan has kept up the horrific elements in more recent episodes (La Bete's backstory, Mira's constant pain), there is also plenty of comedy, which tends to be a bit more resonant.

As for Neverafter vs ACOC, which I agree has keeps a darker tone, still, ACOC never loses its comedy. And I'd say why does the GoT season stay comedic but more serious than the horror season? Probably because of stakes. With the almost immediate TPK of the party in Neverafter, it was established that while yes, it's bad to die with more and more consequences, these characters will keep coming back. Whereas in ACOC, it was so lethal, the heavier tone set in naturally.

TLDR, Neverafter has kept its tone and its tone was never really that intense of horror. D20's stylings will lean heavily comedic by nature, they are a comedy D&D actual play- something severe (like constant threat of party death) needs to infringe on that to curb the tone that persists throughout D20 campaigns.

And gotta talk about The Boys S4 spoilers for 2 reasons... 1) something mentioned by Dr Cardosa in the episode and 2) the VoughtHQ twitter leaker... mainly cuz am getting this after trying to check on a leak from season 4... their twitter also wont load for me... like can we just let Becca Saunders rest? Can her poor life stop being milked for manpain??

First-- off congrats Marie and Jordan I hope you 2 get married and be the power couple this universe needs.

Second here its out Butcher cameo lol. I think this is from S1 after killing madelyn but seeing him in a beanie its so weird altho there is a Homelander article in the same page so who knows.

Third-- Cate you poor bitch!! I felt so betrayed but i dont doubt she its being brainwashed/groomed by Dean Shety so maybe she can be redeemed and her powers are too strong.... i dont doubt that there its a chance she its involved in who appears in ep 6 if thats not a halucination.

Fourth-- Dr. Cardosa mentioning a virus to deal with them... so i guess thats how we r gonna deal with the supe population and why i think the vought hq leak might be real as it mentions the virus as well... i think its super interesting that Vought its developing a virus to kill supes, i guess stan edgar did had a way to make V24 viable despite having supes and maybe a way to get rid of Homelander... by giving him the common cold i guess.

Fifth-- am glad that Maverick is another bisexual king but its the bestiality jokes necessary?? altho I assume his alpaca gf Sloane its just a shapeshifter. So far we got Marie, Jordan, Emma, Cate and Andre as our bisexual monarchs and thats basically the whole cast sans Sam... absolutely iconic Kripke, best apology after fucking up Dean Winchester but i wont forgive you for what u did... still thank you.

Sixth-- the pv for the next ep has fucking Soldier Boy!!! Deep down i feel he its most likely a halucination... saw some ppl theorizing that Cate its mindstorm daughter and she witnessed Mindstorm getting killed by SB so she will use her powers to send them to a mind prison to fight SB which is absurd but i doubt SB its there unless Cate's powers were use to brainwash soldier boy and use him as a weapon in the future, as his powers r too good plus is Vought wants to kill all supes then it makes sense for them to team up with the american govt and have SB as back up while they work with the Superona.

Seventh-- i only now noticed there its a wall poster for homie and loneliness on those school mental health ads which is sad and funny.

Eight-- overall great episode loved how much its happening and its only been days inside the canon, and fuck Rufus! How its the next 3 eps gonna kill me!! Like its too freaking much!!

And finally this shit...

I would not be surprised if this virus is the one being developed in The Woods by Vought, second if this is real then Butcher its a complete pos and a hypocrite i expect the following scenarios of: a) during the time Becca was raped or the wk she went missing thats when Butcher cheated on Becca so its not hatred that motivated his revenge against Homelander but guilt for cheating on his wife... probably with his married fbi plug if i had to take a guess. Or B) Becca learned of his affair decided to have her own affair with Homelander tried to end it which resulted in her S.A. which its why Homelander doesnt see what he did as rape bcuz i guess its not assault if its ur GF/Wife in his mind.

And i guess he takes V or the V24 never left his body unless some Supe can give powers which cause Butcher to use them am so confused is he like a power conduit???

I am gonna say Frenchie or MM will die in this story unless by main characthers they mean any of the Seven, Vought execs or Neuman... doubt Hughie, Starlight, Kimiko or Homelander are gonna die in S4.... but maybe Ashley who knows.

And finally giving cookies to Ryan did like HL saw the tumor felt sad for Butcher and decided to let him see Ryan? or did Ryan just sneaked out and met Billy??

i tend to separate “scenes i like in the x files” into a couple of categories based on why i like them, which are as follows

1. “really really really really funny” -> the nerd guy with the buzz cut in jose chung’s from outer space mistaking mulder and scully for the men in black and calling mulder a mandroid. and when he describes scully threatening him not to talk about what he’s seen except it’s shot in a way that gruesomely emphasizes the probable foot of height the guy has on her. that whole episode is fucking hilarious but especially that part

2. “viscerally disturbing enough to loop back around to being kinda hot” -> the bit at the end of apocrypha where krycek is vomiting the black alien oil onto the spaceship in the missile silo and it’s like coming out of every opening in his face. i heard somewhere that nicholas lea had to wear a mask with tubes in it so the goo could come out his eyes and shit

3. “oh this is for SURE keeping me awake tonight” -> literally all of squeeze but mostly the part where mulder and scully are investigating tooms’ fucked up gross apartment lair and they don’t notice that he’s watching them from in the walls or some shit and he steals scully’s necklace. i watched that ep for the first time while i was like residually high on anaesthesia from getting my wisdom teeth removed and i had to sleep with the lights on and my heating vent covered that night

4. “NO FUCKING WAY” -> the end of die hand die verletzt where the substitute schoolteacher is really heavily implied to actually be the real life devil and she just sort of disappears from the town and mulder and scully find a note written on the chalkboard in the biology lab that says something like “thanks for all the fun”. i love the episodes where there is 100% something honestly and truly hinky going on and they can’t do shit about it and they get SO mad

5. “🥺” -> the bit in the pilot right after mulder and scully lose nine minutes in the car and they jump out and it’s pouring outside so they’re just standing in the middle of the street yelling at each other over the rain and laughing. that’s one of my fave episodes to rewatch and that part always makes me smile

Thanks to @robotpussy for tagging me to ask what 4 albums I've been listening to as of late:

1) Kim Kwang-Seok 4th by Kim Kwang-Seok (I just love a folk singer, also something about his voice caught my attention the first time I heard him, theres something incredibly warm and homey about it. The song on this album that caught me was "나무 아픈 사랑은 사랑이 아니었음을" on a friends playlist. The rest of this album is such a feast of well crafted ballads and folk songs carried by an incredibly emotive voice.)

2) Die 4 Ur Love- Tei Shi (I find this a really perfect EP for when you're like in one of those weird lost moods where you could like bite somebody instead of just be sad and you want to just indulge in your own attitude even if it's not great. A lot of reviewers called this a weak EP but fuck them, this was fun. I've had "OK crazy" on a loop for weeks lol)

3) Heaven To A Tortured Mind- Yves Tumor (I'm giving their work a thorough relisten as a whole to gear up for the new album in a few days! But god this is really one of the best albums of the decade to me. The mixing and production on "Gospel For A New Century" (specifically the way the multiple horn samplings were so masterfully spliced to create such a stunning instrumental and mood) was such a smart choice to open the album with, because it only goes up from there to blow your fucking mind. Tumor's use of dissonance and sometimes overstimulating landscapes of sounds is so sick.)

4) Circle: the 1st Album- Onew (I could've been stupidly biased and put the March kpop release that's been eating my attention span the MOST right now (looking at you Kai), but I think Onew deserves just as much hype for this excellent album. Another fucking stellar example of how to open your album with a song that both embodies your concept but also serves as the end and the sonic rebirth of an ouroborus-esque album as it ends and starts again. The entire album delivers stunning clean and playful pop production, theres a real confidence in Onew's delivery here that just cant be ignored . What I will say, the commonality I find in both this album and Rover by Kai is that both artists are delivering a sort of renewedness about them that I appreciate so much: Onew in that he's stepping into his unique sense of artistry that's paying off in the album itself, while Kai is delivering a more challenging and exploratory EP in comparison to his first two. They both made my March!)

Nessa Barrett – The Fillmore – Philadelphia, PA – March 2, 2023 

Twenty-year-old singer/songwriter Nessa Barrett took the stage of the Philadelphia Fillmore on her Young Forever tour. Before even entering the venue, fans filled the streets of the city eager to see their favorite singer and the person they look up to most. This is the singer’s first tour and I was lucky enough to catch her on the sixth date! 

Isabel LaRosa kicked off the night with an electric performance. The room lit up when she sang hits “HAUNTED,” “I’m Yours,” and even a cover of Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl.” Isabel was the perfect act to get the crowd ready for Nessa’s performance. 

As the lights went down over the crowd and went up on the stage, screams filled the room as Nessa’s silhouette graced the stage. She started her set with “Madhouse” followed by “Decay” and “Too Hot to Cry,” all tracks from her newest album Young Forever. Though Nessa only has several singles, one EP, and one album, the Fillmore was flooded with fans from the barricade of the stage to the back of the room. 

Nessa played everything from EP tracks “I Hope Ur Miserable Until Ur Dead” and “Scare Myself,” many songs from Young Forever, her newest single “BANG BANG” and even an unreleased song titled “American Jesus.” 

What I love most about Nessa is not only how talented she is, but how much love she shows to her fans. All throughout her set, she expressed her gratitude and love for everyone in the room. When talking about her own struggles, she made sure to let her fans know that they are not alone and that this tour is a safe space for them. I got teary-eyed! 

Speaking of teary-eyed, while singing fan favorite “Die First”, fans held up white roses to pay their respects for the loss of Nessa’s best friend, Cooper, who passed away in 2022. This was one of the most emotional, passionate, and beautiful performances I have ever seen. 

Nessa closed out the night with viral hit “I Hope Ur Miserable Until Ur Dead” which had everyone on their feet. This was a great end to an incredible night.

i'm so glad i've been keeping up with my monthly playlists it makes it so much easier to see when i discovered new music/figure out what i was listening to. what are your fav tracks from let her burn? i love performer. also, you'll be surprised to know i have been giving indie more of a chance but very slowly. counting caroline polachek's desire, i want to turn into you as indie. a guy i work with put me onto lvl1 so i had FVN! on repeat for a couple days

new music wise kali uchis' new album came out! LOVED that project, kali always does it for me and she really didn't disappoint. kelela's album is something i'm still struggling with even though i was anticipating it for so long. as a body of work it's very boring to me but take the songs individually and i love them: contact and closure and sorbet... i see you.

tei shi came out with an EP in march and i think FAMILIAR will absolutely be in my top songs of the year. how to describe tei shi... she's a little pop, a little indie, a bit of r&b, a perfect amalgamation of so many sounds and god the things i would do to see her live. DIE 4 UR LOVE stays one of my fav projects from 2020.

i did listen to miley's endless summer vacation, too. spotify gave me an award for being in the first 10% of listeners of flowers. scary! other than that most of the music i've been listening to hasn't been new at all, but i have been making use of the niche mixes to broaden my horizons. i finished a book that had me listening to country it was neat

i think when we'd last caught up i was about to go paintballing. that was... february. i went on holiday to tunisia! i've been to bottomless brunches, day raves, birthday parties and nights out in other cities and i haven't even figured out what my summer is looking like. work wise has been good, too, i've had a string of great 1-2-1s with my manager and scored really well in my end of year review

life feels very hectic for me right now there's a lot of stuff i want to sort out personally but i'm feeling pretty optimistic about this being a good year for me! hope you and yours are doing well babe! <3
