SBG Mother’s Day

Aiden doesn’t celebrate Mother’s Day bc his own mom was never around. At most he would send her a virtual card and he never knew if she opened it. After Savannah he suddenly has a friend group and all of their moms.

Ashlyn and her dad would always do something special. They’d collaborate and (fail to) sneak around to plan a surprise. Emma always loved whatever they did from picnics to fancy dinners and handmade cards. After Aiden befriended Ashlyn he showed up to their house with the biggest bouquet of flowers he could find, and other expensive things that the internet said to buy. While Emma appreciated it she told him that it was unnecessary and insisted he make something, so the next year he spent days hand making a card for her and writing about how much she meant to him. She gave him a hug and he had never been hugged like that by his own mother.

Taylor and Tyler would collect all the extra money they could and put together a nice dinner for their mom. After Aiden showed up tried to pull the same stunt he did with Ashlyn but was advised against it (probably by Ben). And resolved to convincing the twins to let him pay for them to take their mom out to eat. Tyler was against it but Taylor managed to convince him to let Aiden if for their mom’s sake. When Mariana figured out what was happening she invited Aiden to join them.

Logan and his grandfather just made sure that Mary would have a peaceful Mother’s Day every year. They let her relax and made her a nice dinner. Aiden met the woman and tried to figure out what she wanted for Mother’s Day to no avail. She didn’t want flowers, cards, fancy food. Eventually he asked if she wanted company and she agreed. He spent a few hours talking with her and watching her shows until she shooed him away. There’s only so much energy an old lady can take.

Ben would always sing his mom a song and make a card with Lily every year. After he lost his voice and was sent away he would make a card and mail it to his mom, but it wasn’t the same to him. Aiden realized what was happening and arranged ahead of time for Ben and Lily to video chat and make cards together. He arranged it with his uncle so his aunt wouldn’t find out. Together the cousins taught Lily the song Ben liked to sing and watched her perform it on Mother’s Day.

Aiden may not celebrated Mother’s Day with his own mom but there are plenty of moms in his life that love him that he wants to celebrate instead.

i would love it if ashlyn’s love for dogs was somehow correlated into next season

like for example, her and ben find one on the street and she opts to take care of it. ben being the sweet person that he is, agrees.

but then. uh. things happen. yknow how ashlyn pulled everyone to the phantom dimension when she got electrocuted? that same thing happens later.

the dog gets spooked off and runs away but once they find it again it’s already turned into some weird phantom dog hybrid

needless to say ashlyn was traumatized (again)

OR they get attacked by a phantom and the dog protects her, ultimately winding up in its death

either way that’s gonna sting

just looked though my notes app and all of them are so goddamn cringe cause i made them a couple years ago so im gonna put here what is tolerable

- aiden always uses the sidewalk rule even when they’re not really at a side walk. if they fell asleep next to each other he’d always make sure she’s on the side where the wall is further away from the door so if anything comes in he can protect her first. she has no clue why he does this tho

- pretty obvious already and basically canon but aiden is clingy as hell and has to have her in his visual or physical proximity at all times.

- always makes sure she’s walking in front of him so he can, again, see her at all times

- ashlyn’s also extremely protective and showed it a lot more after the ceiling incident.

- whenever she sees an unsturdy ceiling she always has the urge to physically move his body slightly away from it. like he could be standing and suddenly feel arms slowly shoving him in a different direction and he’s just like ???

- aiden would sneak in through her window to hang out with her even though she’s like “yknow you could use the door right” even tho aiden just likes the thrill of climbing up a tree everyday

- aiden’s an absolute food menace and will always stare at ashlyn while she’s eating. it’s like she can HEAR the ���are u gonna finish that” pouring out of his glare. she has fast metabolism but also gets full really quickly so he’s always taking her leftovers

- when they first started dating aiden was extremely afraid to touch her in any way in case it made her uncomfortable. like it got to a point where even she was getting annoyed

after that he adjusted and became touchy again. she made it clear that if she ever was uncomfortable she’d be vocal about it, so he doesn’t have to be afraid of not being aware that he’s annoying her

- aiden isn’t embarrassed about the topic of periods at all. and he could always tell when it hits her cause she shows a very specific set of symptoms before she starts keeling over from cramps. he would go to the store and buys pads immediately if asked to

- aiden LOVESSSS her freckles. at some point (with her permission) he took a pen and started tracing them to look like little constellations. should he be using ink on her face? no. does she care? ehhhh not really he doesn’t do it a lot anyways. he would also count her freckles if he’s bored. obviously it’s never really accurate cause he loses count a lot but it still entertains him

- ashlyn refuses to tell aiden what she wants for her birthday. she knows damn well he’s gonna buy some version of it that’s 20x more expensive than it should be just cause he CAN. she literally asked for ballet shoes and was like “there’s no way he can make this expensive right” and then he pulls up with a pair with her name somehow stitched in pure gold. now ballerinas usually break in their shoes to make them more fit to wear but she didn’t dareeee touch them. they’re gonna rot in her closet for years.

- during the spring if they were to take walks together they would pick some flowers and put them in each others hair

- aiden spent a lot of his childhood watching movies and tv shows when there was nothing else to do. along with those a lot of them were romance. now he doesn’t know shit about dating or love so he would always refer back to the knowledge he obtained from those movies as a child. this why he does cliche things for her like dramatically putting his sweater around her when she’s cold, holding her stuff for her when she doesn’t ask him to, etc. the poor guy doesn’t know what to do with himself

- aiden bought this crazy large sweater that’s as big as a blanket. ashlyn would be like “im cold” and he’d be like “bet” then proceeds to whip out a comically large sweatshirt and put it around both of them.

- ashlyn does that thing where she pulls his ear and drags him away if he does something stupid

Ashlyn Banner Headcanon time! (Plus the group at the end!)

I just thought of this one.

so basically! We all know she is the whitest looking person in the group right- like if you didn’t know her you’d totally think she had complete gringa vibes, esp when it comes to food.

you could not be more wrong.

Anyway, one time Taylor decided it would be a good idea to dare her to do a spice challenge w her after discussing Indian food (bc Ash said she loves the super spicy stuff, but Tay was like “does she like ‘spicy’ or does she like //SPICY//) thinking it would be an easy win.

(Backstory: Taylor and Tyler used to do spice competitions growing up, and they’ve got pretty high spice tolerances too, and Tay is pretty confident in her skills.)

Wrong! basically Taylor got her ass handed to her because Ashlyn (the freak of nature she is) can and will shotgun a bottle of the worlds hottest ghost pepper hot sauce in one go and feel nothing. Apparently, she has gods highest spice tolerance and eats (casually, like it’s not mouth fire from the 19th circle of hell) the spiciest Thai, Mexican, and Indian food that she can get her hands on. (The sheer proximity to the SMELL of how spicy her food is makes Aiden cry. Every time, without fail. It even makes Tay’s eyes water a bit, which is REALLY saying something.)

One time on a road trip through Atlanta, she actually won a shirt for it. When she was 9. After a dance competition. There’s a picture of her on the spice champion wall there even with her still in performance makeup (it looks like a mugshot). She broke the record there for youngest and only person ever to finish The Hot Plate. Mike and Emma also have proof of said occurrence in the family photo album, next to her recital pics taken on their shitty Polaroid camera. They saved the shirt, too.

oh also- in terms of spice tolerance, the group rankings go like this:

Ashlyn (Ultimate freak status from the hot sauce incident)

Tay (can give Ash a good run for her money, but even she can’t do the hot sauce thing)

Logan (everyone was hella surprised by this, but he and Tay are on pretty level ground.

Tyler (spice tolerance has decreased a bit with age, but he’s in reaching distance of where he used to be)

Ben (actually is tied with Tyler)

Aiden (no tolerance. Pepper makes him cry.)

random aidlyn (platonic or not wtv you take it as) headcanons mostly about activities they like and dislike

thoughtof these while staring at a wall and talking to myself so i wanted to write them down somewhere (probably tons of spelling mistakes please ignore them)

roller skating

i’ve always seen fics and stuff where either ashlyn or aiden don’t know how to skate but i honestly feel like they’d both be SHREDDING on that floor.

ashlyn is more graceful and elegant with it (perks of being a ballerina). she can go fast and spin around without looking dumb, but she chooses to go steadier cause she likes it that way. tyler can’t skate for the life of him so sometimes she rolls past him for fun while watching him flail towards the wall. she throws in balancing on one foot for funsies and it gets him fuming

aiden on the other hand is absolutely wild when he goes skating. always pulling some weird tricks and speeding like nobodies business. he can like do that thing where you crouch while skating idk how to describe it.

one thing is that he has barely any regard for the people skating around him and has nearly ran over people multiple times before quickly serving out of the way.

then there was this one time he nearly ran over a five year old but then ended up just?? picking them up?? mid skate?? like just imagine him hoisting them by the armpits. keep in the mind the kid is confused as hell and doesn’t know why tf they started levitating. and then he just puts them near the wall where they won’t fall. ashlyn thought she was gonna witness a child get murdered and told him to be more careful.

ice skating

they are both practically the same when ice skating. both pretty good at it, but aiden always gotta be doing some shit.

he attempted to pull one of his moves that he did at the roller skating rink but then found out it was a lot harder in skates. he ended up crashing and gashing his leg cause the bottom the skates were so sharp. ofc he laughed it off while the others were freaking out.

ashlyn scolded him really hard and now always makes sure he’s going at a steady pace when ice skating. if she finds him going faster than one mile per hour she has to manhandle him and aggressively grip him until he admits defeat and goes at a steady pace again

swimming

now here’s where it switches up, i whole heatedly believe that ashlyn is an AWFUL swimmer. she refuses to have her feet not touching solid ground and will not step foot in water that is taller than her. whenever she swims she ends up using her legs more than her arms and splashes everyone around her cause she can’t keep them underwater.

she CAN float on her back but dislikes it cause water easily gets into her ears and obviously they’re sensitive. so she will only step foot in a pool if she has a floaty or twelve noodles to hold onto.

does she have the ability to learn to swim? yeah. does she want to learn? nah. her parents, just like with ballet, wanted to sign her up for swimming classes when she was a kid. and you know how ashlyn learned a bit of self-defense before quitting? it ended up just like that and she stopped learning after like two days.

now aiden is a pretty good swimmer but he ALWAYS splashes. like in all directions. no one can tell if he does it on purpose to piss them off or if he genuinely only knows how to swim like that. either way he finds it funny.

he likes going underwater and grabbing peoples legs. not to pull them down or anything but just to scare them enough to THINK they’re being pulled down. he doesn’t do it to ashlyn though cause she already can’t swim and doesn’t wanna make an attempt to scare her (also her reflexes are fast as hell she would definitely kick him in the face before he could swim out of the way)

roller coasters

ashlyn isn’t afraid of rollercoasters she just doesn’t like them. she doesn’t find them that enjoyable and it bothers her ears when the ride gets too high and there’s a lot of air pressure. she’ll mostly have a stone face after the ride is over which they thought was because she was frozen with fear. it was actually cause she didn’t gaf about it.

but like she isn’t going to ruin everyone’s fun. if they’re all going on the ride, she will too. sometimes someone offers to stay behind with her but she refuses and doesn’t wanna be a burden (trauma from the phantom dimension unfortunately, she doesn’t want to be responsible for someone else’s displeasure after thinking she got them all stuck there)

now aiden over here loveeessss living up to his name as “mr. durable.” he will go on any ride no matter how horrifying it looks. “12 people died on that ride in the past year? i wonder if ill die too!” that’s his entire thought process. he doesn’t gaf he’s in it for the thrill.

once said something along the lines of “imagine if the tracks just ended as we were heading down lol.” he nearly made someone on the ride puke from nerves after saying that and got pinched really hard by tyler.
