I think the general level of what my father would refer to as "butt ignorance" (just not knowing basic stuff about the world and history and science and physics in ways that wall you off from using your brain to comprehend things) could be reduced 10-60% by legislating the purchase of all three volumes of the Cartoon History of the Universe for every pre-K to 12th grade classroom and I'm not joking. I can't tell you how often I mentally refer to exact panels from those books when thinking about literally any topic
