Brucie Has A Type

While Talia is a Master Assassin with well deserved capital letters, I personally could never ever seriously think that she'd ever act like Damian is not her son for any reason. She's in Gotham. She's visiting her son Damian Wayne. Yes, THAT Damian Wayne, who's her flesh and blood, her perfect baby boy that she loves very much.

She's also very big on family, fight me about it.

So Bruce is currently very publicly dating Selina. And Talia's visiting Gotham. Talia and Selina get on like a house on fire. Men tremble in their footsteps. Bruce is always half a step behind them, sighing dreamily. Talia makes a name for herself briefly and Gotham is split in the middle about two revelations:

The first half is metaphorically looking between Damian and Talia like "I'VE CONNECTED THE DOTS!"

And the second half has the horrifying knowledge that Brucie Wayne both has a very specific type when it comes to women - strong, independent, occasionally violent - and has never been taught not to put his dick in crazy

It's always hilarious to me how big companies are so scared of making some big character queer. Let's take for example DC and Batman especially. We all see that tension with literally every male character, they cannot keep pushing Batman to date women he saw only a few minutes from afar and don't even characterize love interest probably(RIP Selina and Talia, I wish you were characterized right and not like bed-warmers or rapists), yet there's NO example where he officially dated men, only 10383020 hints on that. And this is so stupid because they have official queer characters and couples like Harley, Ivy, Tim and yada yada yada, but once it comes to Batman they scares the fuck off as If not 99% of the fan-base will agree what Batman should be bisexual, even the ones who ship Batman with women will agree what he should date men too. And that happens with so much popular franchises or media and it makes no sense at all.

I like to think Talia did push Damian to some extreme, but she loved him with all her heart. She pushed him because she wanted him to be his best self, and then she realized that that, combined with Ra's Al Ghul's teachings, were starting to corrupt her child.

At some point Damian stopped playing, he stopped looking for her to tell him a bedtime story, he stopped telling her when he had a nightmare. He stopped telling her his silly ideas, the ones he would come up so suddenly, with his creative mind.

Telling him that he had to earn the right to meet his Father had been something to encourage him to become stronger, and something that bought her time to imagine what Bruce's reaction would be, to soothe her own fears, but now it seemed it was all Damian thought. He trained, trained, and trained.

Her own mistakes and her Father's cruel demeanor were making her child hide under a wall of aggression and anger. He wanted to prove himself, to prove himself worthy, and no matter the approach she tries, it's too late, Damian pushes her away and refuses to open up, because that's for "weaklings."

When he's ten, she decides to let him go and lets him win the fight that would decide if he met his father or not.

Letting him go was painful, but it was the right thing. Her baby was happy, and she would be happy as long as that was the case.

...Yeah, I really like to ramble about my headcanons. It's nice.

Hey!!! You’re not bugging me at all!! Honestly I don’t know a tonnn of the villains, but one of my fav “sometimes good sometimes bad but unfortunately often has her character ruined due to bad writing and bigoted stereotypes” is Talia Al Ghul!! I think that when written/portrayed correctly, she is an amazing and very deep, fascinating character, though unfortunately the dc writers tend to use her as a way to be racist against middle eastern people. But her actual character is the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul, the Demon Head and League of Assassins, and the mother of Damian Al Ghul Wayne (Batman’s biological son, the current Robin). While she definitely is morally grey, there is a lot of depth to be read into, like nature vs nurture and her love for her son driving her to do what she thinks is best, even if it isn’t always. She also helped to resurrect and heal Jason! So she’s like a mom to him to in some versions and ways 😊
