Jason shrugs, his smirk softening as he glances at the both of you. “Okay, fine. I’ll let them nap, but only because they’re too cute to mess with tonight.”

You feel your cheeks warm, and before you can protest, Artemis shifts her head so that she can gently nudge you with her forehead. “We’re cute, huh? I think it’s you who’s cute, throwing your sarcastic remarks while clearly melting into the couch with us.”

Jason pretends to look offended, raising an eyebrow. “Oh, so now I’m the one ‘melting’?”

Artemis rolls her eyes playfully. “I think we both know you’re the softest one here.” She pats your leg as she looks up at you with affection.

You laugh quietly, feeling the weight of both their love and their teasing. “Okay, I guess we’re all pretty soft then.”

Jason leans in closer, brushing his lips against your temple in a rare moment of tenderness. “Definitely.” Then he shifts to put his head on your lap, making you laugh even harder.

Artemis looks at you both, her hand absentmindedly running through your hair, her smile fond and content. “You know, this is nice. More nights like this, please.”

“Agreed,” you say, looking down at the two of them. “Let’s make a deal—no more patrols for the rest of the night. Just us.”

Jason’s voice is muffled against your legs as he responds. “You won’t hear any complaints from me.”

You settle into the peaceful moment, all of you content and wrapped in the warmth of each other’s presence. It’s a rare, quiet happiness—one that’s a stark contrast to your usual lives. But for tonight, it’s enough.

Okay, so, y'know how Jason Todd in fanon is normally depicted as a hothead who just explodes with anger? That's... Not actually Jason... At least in canon. People think he has an explosive temper when that's far from the truth. Example, the Lost Days (and UtRH) storyline. Instead of going after Bruce immediately after learning the Joker is alive and there's another Robin, he makes a plan to control Gotham first. He simmers in his anger. He waits, and he plans, and he executes that plan when the time comes. Sure, in the moment he seems like he has an explosive temper, but that's actually weeks to months worth of anger coming out at the same time.

Jason Todd is actually more like Batman than people think he is. Like, the similarities are long. That's why Jason, Artemis, and Bizarro are called the Dark Trinity (plus that they're all from each of the original Trinity's mythos'), and why Jason is the leader. Artemis of Bana-Mighdall has an explosive temper, so she can't lead (plus, while the most sensible, she doesn't fully understand the concept of extreme planning, like WW). Jason Todd, has a calm and calculative reaction to horrible situations, that he allows himself to feel later. Like Batman, except when he feels it, he's not useless like Batman is at the time.

And you find your mom, she's working with the joker and the joker beats you to death, then you come back to life when some super man thing I don't really care about happens, then you literally CRAWL out of your grave and you start to fight everyone as like a vigilante to avenge your death, beat the SHIT out of joker like he did to you, but let him live and then blah blah blah they all become friends again and YAY BAG FAMILY REUNITED

Clark: Ignore her. You said you weren't even aware he was… alive. That there was a being that shares your DNA? You have plans that can defeat us, but you never thought to check in on the woman you slept with eight years ago?

Diana laughed harder, falling out of her seat in hysterics. Clark shook his head.

Bruce: Okay, at first I was aware she was pregnant, and then she said she lost the baby, so… I never called her about that. You can stop laughing, Diana!

Diana: I can't stop! This is too funny! It’s funnier than when Hermes tricked Zeus into drinking fermented wine. I can't breathe! Wait, wait— when Zeus found out about his child…

Clark (jokingly): Which one?

Bruce: I wasn’t aware he existed! I didn’t know the child I had with a crazy woman was around! Can she not laugh at me? I’m now linked to Ra's Al Ghul! This is a lot for me! Can you show me some pity?

Clark and Diana: No!

Bruce: Why are you judging me?!

Clark: Because you look hypocritical in the funniest way possible.

Diana: Exactly! You had a kid from a booty call. Wait, wait, serious time.

Diana got back in her seat and cleared her throat.

Diana: It was consensual, correct?

Bruce: Yes.

Diana: And you used a condom from where?

Bruce: …A gas station.

Diana: And you thought it would do the job? A gas station condom?

Bruce: I was hoping it would, or at the very least she'd have protection. I didn't know she wanted kids!

Bruce covered his face, groaning.

Clark: We're just messing with you. I, for one, am happy you took the kid in. I imagine being raised around the Ghuls wasn't great… or safe.

Bruce: Um… okay, he wasn't just raised around them… Jason helped babysit him. He’s known for eight years.

Clark and Diana (mocking him): We listen and we judge!

Diana burst into laughter again.

Diana: I knew there was a reason I like him!

Clark: I'm pretty sure she's happy for you too. Just the—

Bruce (mortified): Yeah, the situation is humorous because it's at my expense and ironic that I fumbled like that. I'm going to be dealing with this a lot now. I do love him, though. He's a cute kid… He's neat, like all my other sons.

Clark: Aww, that's sweet and reassuring, honestly. A rich white man with a baby from a booty call usually doesn’t go well.

Bruce: The fact I know that's true really says something, but thank you for the compliment.
