You’d tried to keep away from that business, only taking clients that you knew had no connection with the likes of Danny’s friends and Joel Miller but maybe you hadn’t been as careful as you’d thought. 

“Do you have a problem with that?” You challenge. It’s awfully rich of him, coming into your home and giving you his opinion on your job, like his line of work is any better. He’s nothing but a glorified drug dealer and a murderer. 

“Of course not. Why’d you think I’m here?" His tone is serious, this is not a social call, it’s business, your business. 

“I thought you were with Tess?” You ask, more so to give yourself time to actually take in what he’s saying, not because you have any issues providing your services to men of an entangled nature. 

“I thought you weren’t supposed to ask questions” he shoots back

on first watch, his tone of voice and body language here just seem like confused and worried parent, but on second, there's definitely a hint of panic in his voice

ep2 - joe, tom and fred in the cafe

this scene hits so much different on second viewing holy shit. at one point they're talking about marriage and work and how hardy's divorce was partially work-related and:

imo it didn't start with ben miller...rob is always like this... sometimes when the pod episodes are shorter (less than 10min? does he do that anymore), you can tell some of the bullshit is edited around, but now that they're longer-form conversations he is dominating every episode. i'm certainly no rob hater, but it's really unsurprising to me because facts are facts — rob is self-involved, extremely concerned about being seen and being heard, incredibly pouty if not outrightly bitter when he's not recognised, when fame/success doesn't chase him, when he's getting less from life than he believes he deserves. there are aspects of rob in the trip that aren't far from reality, if you see what i mean. rob is, honestly, quite showbiz. don't get me wrong, he's funny, affable, talented, we love him! but he's not a stellar podcast host because he doesn't have the attention span to let someone else have a moment. have a story. put something on the table. there are definitely times i give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's trying to form a connection by sharing a related experience/feeling/whatever, but other times he's just being self-involved, pivoting the convo, and it is what it is. it's too bad when we don't always get lengthy, insightful content for someone we love — like miles, let's say — and when we finally do rob isn't doing his part; i felt that way about the dara episode. i don't think rob means any malice, it's just how he is...+ a dash of being a middle-aged white man in showbiz...

hello all you beautiful people!

a little unknown fact about me: i love reading! i mainly read reference material and nonfiction, but i don't mind the occasional fiction! i have plenty of friends on here who like reading (after all, you're on my page!) and who love elvis, so i figured i'd make a compendium of books that were adapted into elvis' movies.

it will be organized by the movie / the year it came out, and the story / its author. i'll also include a little description of each.

-love me tender (1956) & the story of the reno gang: this movie was not based on a story, but actual historical events! the reno gang were a group of brothers who went around the midwest robbing trains. clinton reno was a real person, the youngest of the five brothers (his nickname was "honest", as he never got involved with any criminal activity pertaining to his brothers.)

-loving you (1957) & a call from mitch miller by mary agnes thompson: the movie was based on a short story by mary agnes thompson that was featured in the june 1956 edition of good housekeeping.

-king creole (1958) & a stone for danny fisher by harold robbins: king creole was the first of el's movies to be based on an entire book! the role was originally meant for james dean, and was set in the backstreets of new york city.

-flaming star (1960) & flaming lance by clair huffaker: this was one of two movies where the original author was involved in creating the screenplay.

-wild in the country (1961) & the lost country by j.r. salamanca: although some creative liberties were taken (el's character went from an artist to a writer and hope lange's character became a psychiatrist rather than a teacher), it still followed the same plot as the original novel. it was also the first to feature elvis on a published paperback.

-follow that dream (1962) & pioneer, go home! by richard p. powell: the novel is based on a family from new jersey (WOOT WOOT), and although technically based on the book, the movie takes many creative liberties to the point of it being almost completely opposite the original source material.

-stay away, joe (1968) & stay away, joe by dan cushman: this is what el considered his first "serious" role. although involving some incredibly racist stereotypes, it is rooted in some truth about elvis' lineage: his great-great-great grandmother was a cherokee woman named morning white dove, and some attribute his high cheekbones and striking features to his distant native ancestry.

-live a little, love a little (1968) & kiss my firm but pliant lips by dan greenburg: the movie, like follow that dream, was so loosely based on the book that it was almost completely opposite the original source material.

-charro! (1969) & charro! by harry whittington: this is the only "officially endorsed" book based on an elvis movie.

-the trouble with girls (1969) & chautauqua by day keene: this is my absolute favorite movie of all time, and ironically, there is no information about the book's plot. based on what i've gathered from other sources, it follows an almost identical plot to the movie. unfortunately, the author died 9 months prior to the movie's release.

-change of habit (1969) & title-not-available by richard morris and john joseph: according to wikipedia, change of habit was based on a story written by richard morris and john joseph. i've scoured the internet under both of those names, and found nothing! oh well.

He wouldn't be the first (or the last) famous person to say dumb shit... But I don't know everything he's ever said.

And honestly unless there is a clear video of him blatantly saying something homophobic... I'd take it all with a grain of salt. Print interviews (including digital ones) are edited to get the right vibe (just look at spoiler articles from metro vs the ones from digital spy) and quotes may be taken out of context for a good clickbait-y headline.

And there are people who make it their goal in life to get angry over everything.

Hybrid of the Seven Sins AU Masterpost

Summary:

Now this is a two-book series about the life of a Demon Angel Hybrid named Daniella Stella Fenton, the Queen of Infinite City and the Empress of the Human World. Daniella or Ella as she is called, is the second daughter and fourth eldest child of Jack Fenton, younger twin sister of Daniel Eleanor Fenton, younger half-sister of Dan James Fenton and Jasmine Madeline Fenton, and older half-sister of Diana Elizabeth Fenton. Jack was her and her brother’s donor for their mothers; Stella and Eleanor Phantom. He became their guardian after their parents died when their house was purposely set on fire when they were only a month old. The only reason the two survived was because their mother, Stella, who is an angel, used the last of her life to protect them from the flames (talk about a mother's love). Daniella had a relatively happy childhood but her life changed the day she witnessed an extermination. She became determined to put an end to it but this road has many obstacles, requires lots of sacrifices, and pain. She experiences this when she loses one of her family members but that just pushes her harder. However this is the future, let’s start in the past.

Ok, so this is just to explain a few things. For every single picture I use, I don’t own any of them and I will try to give credit to the artist but if it’s a picture from a shopping site then there’s no reason to do so.

Also while this story says that the Fandoms are Danny Phantom, Hazbin Hotel, and Helluva Boss, THIS IS NOT A CROSSOVER, this is an Original Work with characters, specific locations, and elements from the two fandoms. I am a big Danny Phantom fan and like to write fanfictions about it. I also have ADHD, so I create a lot of stories in my head (not all of them get written for severe reasons; one being I lose interest fast). While listening to the new Hazbin Hotel songs, watching the new episodes, and getting bored in school causing my mind to wander; I created this AU! I will be using some of the songs from Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (Danny Phantom has like one song and there are a lot of covers for it so I will use one of those) as well as using episodes from the main two as outlines for some of my chapters as the second book is based off of the plot of Hazbin Hotel and the first book is based off the plot of Danny Phantom.

Also shout out to the person who inspired many of the changes to the episode plot within the chapters because a lot of these ideas for how the chapters were written came from her books. This person is Mikaela Miller, who created “The Phantom Twins: Season 1”, “The Phantom Twins: Season 2”, and “The Phantom Twins: Season 3”. You can find her on Wattpad.
