Some days It's okay to lose yourself in a daydream.

Like today my mind has taken me away to dreaming about walking around a cozy small bookshop during a rainstorm and taking my time looking at the books on the mismatched shelves. Maybe even reading one as the store owner is having a quiet day and offered to make me a drink and tells me it is okay to start my newest read.

It was an ordinary day,

the lights of the coffee and tea bookstore dimly lit,

soft murmurs of intimate conversation drifting through the air,

the aroma of fresh, warm baked goods

and redolent, fragrant brews.

Then suddenly, the sounds in the room

simmer into oblivion.

Everything begins to slow,

a quiet presence I can feel before I see,

my eyes, unmoving from your face.

My cheeks, sun-kissed by the invisible touch of your love,

hit like a soft gust of wind.

My lips tremble—I want to cover and hide,

yet, somehow, I want you to find me in the crowd,

as my heart reaches out to you, though I don’t even know your name.

Is it only me, caught in this moment?

Or have you seen me, too?

My Beautiful Stranger,

you make an ordinary day extraordinary.

I swear I’ve seen you before, that familiar, enchanting face.

In my dreams, your fingers lingered over my scars,

transforming them into stars, like an unwavering whisper.

This is my first personal poem on Tumblr, and I hope you liked it! I wrote it with all those fleeting moments in mind—the times I’ve felt drawn to a stranger, which happens quite often. whenever i feel bad about needing more rest than others (even on a good day), i just remember that albert einstein slept 10h every night and took daily naps.

SMART goals for today: (i have to keep using the acronym to remind myself to keep things achievable lol...and sometimes i still have to edit some tasks throughout the day. it's not a failure, i'm still learning what "achievable" even is.)

finish psyc ch 4/4 from last week (i am sooooo close to being done w/ this, but i'm so tired. gotta listen to my body and get ready to sleep)

night routine ✅

wind down for 30 mins before sleeping with the light on (e.g. spacing out/meditate/journal/yoga/dealing with the things that distracted me while studying) ✅ (i wanted to meditate for 30 mins straight - i could not. while meditating, i was constantly reminded of things i didn't do yet and thoughts i wanted to get down that i kept stopping and starting the timer bc either these things have been bothering me for a while or i thought it was an important observation and it's now well over the 30 mins of winding down that i had originally planned and i'm sleeping a little later than i had wanted to. oh well. next time, it's probably a good idea to stick to the 30 min timer and NOT stop it now that a good number of bits and bobs have been dealt with...hopefully they don't all get replaced by new ones by the end of tmr 😂)
