You don't know why you had woken up, but you were annoyed that when you woke up, your lover wasn't beside you. The spot beside you in the bed was still warm, so you knew he hadn't been out of bed for a while. With a mumbled groan, you get out of bed and go to the kitchen. You walk around the corner, the smell of eggs and toast hit your nose and your stomach growls. You didn't even realize it was morning. You spot Demo standing in front of the stove cooking eggs, scrambled. You can hear him whistling a tune that you don't recognize, but it sounds nice. You walk up behind him and wrap your arms around his waist, causing him to jump in surprise. "Ah, Lamb, ya' scared me!" He says with a chuckle. You mumble and rest your head on his back, nuzzling into the fabric of his black turtleneck. "Feelin' cuddly this morning, 'ey, Love?" He asks as he finishes cooking the eggs and placing them on a plate. "You weren't in bed, couldn't sleep," you mumble into his back, making Demo chuckle. "'m sorry, Lamb, didn't mean to leave the bed, but I knew you'd be hungry." He says as he turns around to face you. His expression is that of adoration as he scans your state, hair messy, a pout on your face, and tired eyes from just waking up. He gently grabs your face and pulls you in for a kiss, which you accept gladly. He's gentle with his kiss, making you melt. He pulls back, but rubs his thumbs on your cheeks in soothing circles. "Let's eat and then we'll cuddle some more, okay, Lamb?" Your stomach growls in agreement.

RIGHTTTT RIGHT!! I really do think if Demo were white he'd get a lot more of the stereotypically 2020s "fandomy" treatment, which I'm trying to do !!! I don't wanna blow my own horn too much but I DO think I'm part of the reason tbh... I post about him a lot, I love him and I'm really shamelessly attracted to him and that gets people on my side! not attaching this to that post because obvioulsy the unexamined colonialism is more important than like. nitpicking historical details. but also its such a shame so many fantasy settings are so incurious about actual medieval european food because its so much more diverse and interesting than a bland assumption that everyone is eating either a big cartoon roast Meat™ or a potato stew and thats all there was. like im not a food history expert at all but ive been to reenactor banquets prepared by people who Are and these guys are out here doing the absolute most. making reproduction menus from specific stories or events and reconstructing recipes from extant medieval cookbooks (that are just online for free btw!) and re-building awareness of local native staple ingredients that have been all but lost (in this case lost largely due to the cultural impositions of that same colonial empire) and learning how to grow historically common fruit and veg that has been left behind. your modern day diet is probably more monotonous in terms of veggies than an average medieval irish person's but you'd never think so going by any fiction thats ostensibly set pre-1500

idk i just think if u Are writing a medieval-europe-based setting this information is pretty accessible and makes your world more interesting and more real and its FUN, so resorting to the genre classics of Ambiguous Potato Dish is genuinely lazy. sorry.

What is everyone's preferred meal do you all like take turns making meals and if so is it only dinners and what does each person make for their day I would see you, spy, engi and heavy have to cook the most as the others wouldn't be too great at it.

im not entirely sure what everyones favorite meals are, it seems to change sometimes and depends on the season and time of day too.... but i have a pretty good idea of everyones general likes and dislikes! as for making meals, everyone tends to fend for themselves and make their own food or a few things to share for breakfast and lunch, but we usually all eat dinners together and we do take turns for that. out of everyone i would say engie and heavy do the most cooking (and they do it well! engie will even make breakfast for everyone once in a while!) and i cook sometimes. spy and demo both make excellent food when its their turns but they dont cook as often as you would think. everyone else usually just sticks to helping out or maybe cooking the occasional meal if no one else will.
