if mileven is endgame them getting married and having kids would be the dumbest thing ever. the show literally puts emphasis on how unhappy karen and ted are married with three kids... why would mike and el end up the same way? i love both characters but if they get married the show's ruined for me.

They're like...going to be 15 years old in season 5. They're not going to be getting married and having children. And even if they do get married and have kids in the future, there's nothing wrong with that. It's not dumb for people to want to create their own family. It becomes an issue when people don't communicate...or don't fulfill their roles as parents...or aren't present in their kids' lives. It's about choosing the right partner. It's about raising children together, and pulling your weight in your marriage. 90% of marital issues could be solved with simple communication and understanding. Karen and Ted would probably have a much better marriage if they were on the same page and communicated and actually talked about their wants and needs and dreams.

And people don't always end up like their parents, either. In some cases, sure. But not always. The show isn't trying to say that being married and having a family is the worst thing you can do. Because it's not. It becomes a problem, like I said, when two people aren't on the same page about what they want or need from the other person. If Karen wants to go out and start working instead of being a SAHM, she needs to vocalize that. If Karen doesn't feel like Ted makes her a priority, she needs to say it. If Ted needs something, he has to open up and communicate with his wife. I'm sure neither one of them regret having their children. Karen and Ted just might not be the best suited partners, or maybe things could be resolved if they actually spoke to each other. But pals...the show isn't trying to tell us that marriage sucks and that having children sucks. It's not for everyone, obviously, but with a partner who loves you and cares for you and respects you as an equal person with their own hopes and dreams...marriage and a family can be a wonderful thing.

As someone who lived a ten-minute drive outside of a small town (roughly 5.5 km outside of the town), it genuinely amazes me that Sebastian has good enough internet to do his job. Unrealistic. His family would have an internet usage max of 200gb per month and has the Worst Internet Speed. Good luck getting anything done emo boy, you’re working on pure hopes and dreams with that internet connection.

This might be on the outer edges of the 'rock' part of a rock opera, but I need people to listen to Janelle Monáe's Metropolis series of concept EPs and eventually her debut album The ArchAndroid, some with dystopian themes of being a robot that falls out of line, in love and starts thinking for itself, and others about being a saviour alien, that was awesome.

Also, Canadian rock band Fucked Up had a great rock opera called David Comes To Life in 2011 that was great.

(If not 'rock', I don't know what else to call Fucked Up lol, they started out as definitely hardcore punks, but they've done so much other interesting work since then that can't really be called punk)

Also obligatory reminder that 'rock opera' =/= 'rock musical'

(That said, I found Quadrophenia on vinyl at a uni sale for $5, which was kinda nice)

"I am beginning to realize that those who think fans who don’t like AOS Uhura are ALL Spirk shippers are wrong. Sure, there are some spirk shippers who are mad. But, there are more fans who find AOS Uhura’s character degradation irrespective of Spirk. It really depends on how one identifies with a character. Those who find AOS uhura having Spock as BF are coming from a different perspective(poc women oppression) than those who see her independence being robbed due to her becoming a gf-only(lesbian or independent female pov)."

I've just finished the third season of Malevolent (it has been a rollercoaster of pain and grief) and while my biggest concerns are what deal did John make with Kayne, what does this new cult want and how the hell did John kill Emily so brutally if he didn't even have a body, I find myself thinking about my poor man Yellow, who only ever wanted in his whole life to cause suffering and drive others mad.

Also, my head canon song for him is "The Other Woman" by Lana del Rey. Because I was listening to it while studying and thought about him.
