Life Goes On 1/29/19

At 12 she wanted to be a mom and live on a farm

At 14 she became anxious and pushed everyone away

At 16 she wanted to give up

At 17 she found friends and it got better

At 18 she lost everyone and wanted to end it again

At 19 her grandma had a stroke, her sister got married, her brother got engaged, and her grandma died

But also at 19, she found herself. She found the strength to handle any battle life threw at her

At 20 she hopes to be thriving

It does get better

Midnight Thoughts

If theres one thing I've learned in my life, it's that blaming others just builds resentment inside of you. You have to take control of your life for yourself. Yes, people can screw you over. Yes, people can hurt you more then you knew was possible. But if you just spend the rest of your life blaming everyone else for what's gone wrong in your life, you're never going to get anywhere. You're going to be mentally in the past, never able to move forward.

Elsa was right, you've got to let it go.

I know it hurts. That's the thing about life, it's full of pain. Everyone in life is going to hurt you, you just have to decide who's worth the pain.

Your past is a lesson, not a life sentence.

Life isn’t about what we’re building, it’s about who we’re building it with. If all you’re doing is building your life and not focusing on the people in it, then why are you building it? Over the past year, I’ve struggled with keeping and making friends. I’ve convinced myself that I’m not in a place in my life where I can make time for friends. Well, if I’m building this life all alone? Then what is it worth? Why would I want to build something and then have no one to share it with? I know how much fun it can be and how motivating it can be to hustle, hustle, hustle everyday. But if all you’re doing is hustling and building a business, then what are you sacrificing? At the end of the day, do you want to be remembered for the business decisions you made or the relationships you formed? I’ve always loved the word ‘Legacy’ because it reminds me that life isn’t about the money or the hustle, it’s about the people I’m impacting. 2017 has come and gone. I can say I am better for it. It wasn't my best year. But, I will be forever grateful for the lessons I learned from it and the things I accomplished. . . In 2016, I had this crazy dream to start a blog. And, in May of 2017 heathersambitions.wordpress.com became a reality. I will never forget the exhilaration I felt when I pushed publish on that first post. And, that feeling is still there with every post. It's not as strong but it's still there. . . In 2016 I had 1 friend outside of my family and we weren't as close as we could be. In 2017 we both opened up to each other about our struggles and shared a lot of tears and laughter over the year. But, throughout everything, our friendship has blossomed. . . In 2017 I gained another wonderful friend who I never expected I would become close to. My cousin Matt. In May we started talking and to this day I am so very grateful for that first conversation. He is one of my best friends and has been exactly what I needed when I needed him. . . 2017 was the year my faith in God grew exponentially. I started praying faithfully for myself and for others and I watched my prayers become answered. I learned that God has a reason to everything - even an iPhone dying in the end of February (a long wonderful story that I need to tell sometime.) Even if you don't think something can up well, just wait. I bet it will. . . In 2017, I took a leap of faith and applied to be a writer for @hannahashtoncontent and I got the job! I am one of several writers for her blog and it's absolutely incredible! (You should totally check out my article on there about waking up early.) . . There's plenty more I could say about 2017. But I'll save that for another day. Here's to 2018 and all the adventures it entails! 1 year ago, I was lost, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. Anxiety haunted my every turn and depression was coming and going. I had a blog that I loved but I was struggling to find direction for it. None of my posts went together, I had no vision for the future. I was just writing what was on my heart that day. Today, I’m in a totally different mindset. Anxiety still haunts me everyday but depression doesn’t come as often. My blog has changed even more than I have. I’ve spent the past week brainstorming and planning how to take my blog to the next level and I’m so excited about everything that I’m working on. You have no idea how much I want to talk about all of it with you. As someone who goes through bouts where I’m completely unmotivated to do anything, the excitement and determination that I’ve been feeling about all of this is unreal.
