So you like the twenty-second scene in D3 where they're in Audrey's cottage, and they let a freaked Chad out of the closet, and he runs out of the cottage while screaming, "I want my mommy!" All while Harry is hysterically laughing at him the whole time?
Maybe Chad told Cinderella about how scared he was when Audrey locked him in the closet and then how when he was finally let out there was this "scary looking dude who was laughing like a crazy person! And I think he was holding some kind of weird hook looking thingy?!"
And while Chad was running away too fast to pay much attention to what else he looked like. Cinderella has suspicions of just who that boy was, or more accurately, whose son that boy was.
I like to imagine that at some point, relatively soon after D3, someone writes an article on what all happened during the time Audrey had Maleficent's scepter. And since they helped, plus maybe as a way to get more positive publicity for VKs, it features the Sea Three and has pictures of them.
So, a few weeks after the Audrey scepter mess, Charming is reading the article one mourning at breakfast and Chad, who's at home because of all that happened, looks over and sees Harry's picture and goes, "That's him! That's crazy laughing, guy!" And when Cinderella looks, her suspicions are confirmed that it was Hook's son. Hook's son was near her own son, and that scares her.
I think it'd be pretty plausible for Cinderella to think that the 'laughing incident' was somehow Harry's way, maybe Hook's way even, of taunting her. Even though (1) neither Hook nor Harry knew she was the reason Beast knew where to look for Hook in the first place. (2) Harry didn't know who Chad was. He just thought it was funny, and well, he was right.
So, it wouldn't be out of the question for the years between D3 and RoR for Cinderella to have thought that Hook, and even if he was 'manipulating' them, his kids were waiting to get revenge for what she did. And come RoR, it's Bridget, who's the one who gets revenge, aka justice for her family.
The part with Harry and Chad in the cottage has been in my head for a while, but the other stuff seemed to work with what we've come up with. Sorry this is so long.
Never apologize! I love your long asks! :D
Okay, so I know this backstory has been fitted in pretty much for Hookheart shippers only. But it MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!
Even if Harry was taken away from Bridget at age three, it's not out of this world that Hook would have told the Hooklings that their mother used to be friends with cinderella in high school over the years on the Isle. And becuse he wants to be honest with his kids about how he and their mother got together, he would also tell them that ella and Bridget had a falling out when he and she started dating, which left Bridget pretty broken up.
So when Harry finds out that Chad is cinderlla's son it would be the 'your mom broke my mom's heart so you'll get no friendship from me' all over again.
This may make me evil, but I kinda like the thought of deep down cinderella fearing that one day either hook or his kids would come for revenge on her. She tells herself that there's no way they can know it was her who 'snitched.' But that doesn't stop the niggling fear in the back of her mind.
But in a way...it's almost poetic that it was actually Bridget who killed her in the end. Becuse out of all of them, cinderella probably never worried about Bridget. But what she didn't know was she should have.
She was the catalyst in creating the bigger monster Bridget became by tipping things off to take her family so how fitting that she died from the monster she created.
Thanks for the ask! :D

I feel like. The most unforgivable thing Cinderella has done in D20 Neverafter is Abandon her kingdom. And I know that’s such a small petty gripe in the grand scheme of everything. But thinking back to Episodes 2 and 3 that was all devastation left from Cinderella leaving her story. And I get her tale of Autonomy, I do. But. Look. At the carnage of the people left behind. Tortured, killed, transformed, tormented. They tried to run and many of them couldn’t. The only act of Princessly Nobility we see her participate in is turning the Stepmother away when she turns to the Prince and Princess of her land for help after the birds plucked the Stepsisters eyes out on the Princess’s coronation.
Any Royal Action Cinderella has taken has been Inaction.
She has failed in the role as a Princess.
I don’t know what any of the other Princesses were supposed to do, Snow White says her Prince never showed up and she is literally undead which makes the situation slightly different. Rapunzel I don’t know anything about her Prince situation and otherwise I think she’s a fucking Witch Salad. Elody was fighting on the front lines for Greenleigh. Rosamund was in a coma. Mira’s kingdom was ruled by her father until he was eaten by the Terrible Dogfish, dunno what that means for the sea now. Maybe Alba rules it. Good for her. idk. I don’t know who the Prince who got married to someone else is, wanna know who that is. I don’t even know what world La Bête is from, but she was a peasant who ate a monster and inherited a title from a Prince who *was not using it* and also I doubt fantasy France is doing any better with its monarchy than normal France and I just don’t know enough about the original Beauty and the Beast. Gerard is learning not to be such an irresponsible person though I really would argue a lot of this *is* delayed development due to childhood isolation and trauma, but still. If Gerard were not in the process of recovery he would also be like ‘wow you’re a goddamn shitty fucking ruler’ but he has realised that already.
Rosamund. Needs to perhaps realize Love is not the only point to being Nobility. Is your entire Kingdom really Asleep or is shit fucked? did your entire kingdom go to sleep for you? and you’re just leaving them? in another world? asleep? forever? okay... okay okay.
Tomas, I need your Peasant King wisdom please be a decent sort. Pib has so much faith in you, I know you’re supposed to be kinda simple but pleeeaaaaaassseeee I need the Peasant King to be good.

DATV explaining the 'Regret Prison'
A REGRET PRISON IS STUPID AND I'M TIRED OF PRETENDING THAT ITS NOT
TL;DR: a prison can serve as a metaphor but it shouldn't be entirely comprised of a metaphor.
From what I understood from what the game gave us: Solas has made a new prison to move the God's too - since bringing down the veil would free them from the Black City. This new prison is separate(?) from the fade or so far removed/contained that bringing down the veil would not compromise it...apparently. We interrupt his ritual, Solas gets sucked into the new prison he made, and the elven gods are free.
When Rook gets kicked into the fade they're physically there - which means it's a physical place in the fade, like how it was a mixture of physical/thought when we entered it in DAI. Which makes sense - the gods are real and living beings, they need to be in a place, there must be some aspect of physicality to it.
Alright, cool, it's a Black City 2.0 - I assume it's better defended to prevent people breaking in/out again?
NOPE.
We get there and it's a 'regret prison'?? It's tied to the regrets of those within it? Composed of regrets??? Solas had to wait for the right moment for Rook to be sufficiently 'full of regret' that they could switch places?
So is the prison tied to Solas's regrets? If so, how can Rook escape? The prison seems to work around the idea that it relies on the regrets of the person it's holding to work - which is how/why Rook was able to be trapped and later free themselves (along with whatever remains of the team apparently being able to do something on their end, not that we hear about it).
WHICH IS STUPID!
Are you telling me the prison intended to hold to megalomaniac elven gods was going to imprison them based on their own regrets? Is Solas assuming that Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain are as self-pitying as he is? They'd break out quicker than Rook did! He made a time out corner for the elven gods to sit in and gave them an out if they reflected on their emotions/regrets or decided that they don't regret what they did. Elgar'nan, a spirit of tyranny, is not going to 'regret' his actions - he is going to justify them by telling himself and others that he knows what's best.
We can come across some of Solas's regrets in the prison if you run around a bit and explore:
Remnant of Failure - talking about the orb from Inquisition.
Remnant of Parting - talking about Mythal
Remnant of Reflection - more vague, talking about the Titans I believe.
So maybe he altered it - maybe he intended the prison to be 'locked' with his own regrets because after a millennia of having a pity party he still can't bring himself to self-reflect and look to the future. But what if Solas died? Or if his guilt lessened - would it diminish the strength of the regret prison?
We already have pre-established lore (though DATV has shown they don't really give a crap tbh) that once the being that has claimed/altered an area of the fade is slain, it's influence diminishes both in and outside of the fade. So if the prison was tied to his regrets then it would require Solas to basically live forever to keep it stable - especially if he brought down the veil and removed the one barrier that kept the world and the fade apart.
Rook and Solas needed some assistance to exit - but it doesn't seem like it was much! Solas used his dagger and Rook just...got out through a fade tear? This is Solas's 'more secure' second prison? It has a worse track record than the Black City! If Rook - who is not an elven god - managed to escape the regret prison what is to stop anyone else from breaking in and out of the prison?
And what did Solas intend to do with the blight - the bulk of which is apparently in the black city?? If bringing down the Veil would free the gods in the black city doesn't that mean that the blight would also be released?! Did he have a plan? Why does he go fully ahead with bringing down the veil at the end if the black city is still there and filled with blight?!
I get it: the 'regret prison' is a metaphor for how Solas holds onto the past and how Rook can move past their regrets and grow. He's trapped by the past - it's a prison. Cool. But this prison is supposed to by a physical place to contain the gods - not just to solely contain Solas. The mission is literally called 'A Cage for Gods'.
The Black City is an actual place that's so far out of reach of anywhere else in the fade that no mage can ever reach it while in dreams - let alone physically, which was only done once and took tremendous effort/blood sacrifices. It made sense - it was cool to see floating in the sky in DAO!
Though it's not said specifically, it's strongly implied that Arlathan is the Black City. You can see in the concept art that floating elven city is exactly the same as the black city in DAO! It's this foreboding thing just lurking in the sky - a constant reminder of the sin that led to the horrors of the blights and darkspawn. A real place with lore and history that also serves as a metaphor for the hubris and destruction of those who call themselves gods and act as tyrants -> for both the evanuris and the magisters.
I WANT TO UNDERSTAND THIS BIOWARE!
WHAT IS THIS KINGDOM HEARTS NONSENSE???!!
#we'll need Mickey and Donald to break us out of this one#this screams 'this sounds so cool lets put it in' and not 'how can we do something cool that works with the world we've established'#“it's metaphorical-” it can be metaphorical and make sense!!!#trying to invoke 'emotion' with that black and white tone and only succeeded in getting me to feel pure confusion and rage#THE FADE IS GREEN TINTED - THE LAST GAME WAS LITERALLY COLOUR THEMED AFTER IT#i'm passionate about the fade being green the same way i'm passionate about Aurora's dress being blue and Cinderella's being silver#solas's more secure second prison literally has a worse track record than the black city - why is he so dumb???#I regretted no choices in datv besides the decision to actually play this game lmao#if the game actually acknowledged that Rook's actions led to thousands of people dying maybe I'd feel something in the regret prison#no mention of treviso/ minrathous/ or southern thedas??#the team all knew the risks of what they were doing! they volunteered/made their own choices - ME2 did this so much better#played as an elf so I didn't even feel bad when Harding died because of the weird elf specific dialogue she had#I'm not sorry for the titans/what Solas did - I wasn't even there! Doesn't justify the shit that happened to the elves after either!#this game made me apathetic to LACE HARDING and i loved her in Inquisition#i'm sorry but I had more regret for choosing to speak mean to Merrill once than anything I did in this game#currently writing about the magisters sidereal in my lore post and I needed to blurt this out because its so stupid#typed out the word 'regret' so much is has no meaning in my head anymore lmao#datv critical#datv spoilers#bioware critical#dragon age the veilguard#veilguard critical

ignore this but i need to stare at these thoughts until they make sense
Requiem is the story of Buddy displaying his trust for Chase and Requiem is the story of Chase saving Buddy. Still Waters is the story of Buddy wanting Chase's trust and Still Waters is the story of Chase trying to apologize to Buddy.
It's cyclical, almost, in that Buddy displaying trust led him to be more frustrated that Chase won't trust him (for completely valid reasons) and in that Chase keeps trying to save people and keeps slipping up (saving his mom, protecting Buddy, saving Prunella, saving Deacon, even down to him trying to save the woodland animals)
And Buddy sees Chase's constant desire to save and do right and be right and he trusts that, and Chase encourages the trust and wants it to flourish because he wants to help Buddy and he wants Buddy to let him help, but Chase can't reciprocate the trust because he also wants to save and protect Silver, Bronze, Goldie, and he wants to save and protect Deacon and Prunella, and he needs to save and protect his mom, and he wants to help Buddy.
Chase's so desperate to save and protect that he keeps neglecting the little details, which consistently causes significant problems, and then he finds himself desperate to fix it. To apologize. And in the cross-hatch, Buddy realizes the one-sided trust-fall, because Chase prioritizes keeping others--including Buddy--safe over risking a betrayal, which frustrates Buddy because the blossoms of friendship aren't being built on even ground.
and it's a pattern that's only broken with Chase admitting, finally, that he does trust Buddy, that the friendship and trust and grossly emotional feels go both ways. and it's a pattern only broken by Buddy desperately trying to save and protect Chase, by shielding from water and helping run and realizing the situation and clutching his hand, arm, shirt, whatever
it's incredible writing and i dont know if any of this makes sense to the general public but Punko, if you ever see this, ur incredible and i applaud every single literary decision you've elected bc this is one of my favorite stories to ever exist
#cinderella boy#chase hollow#cinderella boy webtoon#stargoth#buddy#buddy cinderella boy#i dont know if this makes sense guys#it's how Buddy and Chase have distinct arcs#and play critical roles in breaking the other OUT of said arc#Buddy saving Chase#Chase trusting Buddy#Buddy beating the man who harrassed Chase#Chase giving Buddy a bag of food and medicine#Buddy yelling at Deacon for not prioritizing Chase's health#Chase letting Buddy clutch him and just calmly telling him it's okay#It's Buddy slashing Chase's cheek in fury to desperately trying to save him from a drowning book#It's Chase going from suspiciously dancing with his enemy to standing in the middle of destruction and saying no i trust you#maybe this doesnt make any sense! idk i might delete it; my thoughts are a puddled mess rn#thanks for reading :)

People: Disney's quick/three day romances aren't realistic.
Me, inwardly: Neither are mermaids, genies, fairies, talking animals, magical transformations, ice powers, or magical healing hair. Maybe it's not always conveyed the best but it's escapist fantasy and not meant to be idolized, just enjoyed with the knowledge that it's fantasy.
Me out loud: Watch something other than Disney then.

Okay, but you don't understand. Prince Charming is at this party which is forcing him to do something he doesn't want to do. He's flaunting his disinterest at his dad. And then he sees this girl wandering around the ballroom on her own, completely clueless, clearly her first time doing anything like this. But also visibly awed and excited to be here, completely devoid of the actual reason for the ball. And he goes "I'm gonna make sure that girl has a good time tonight".
And he goes up to her, and she's surprised, flattered that anyone might want to join her on her day out, and they have a great time, because neither of them have been afforded genuine, unconditional attention in a long time. He is the kid who goes to join the person sitting alone at lunch. She is the girl who had reconciled with the fact that no one would be interested in her. They are asexual children bumping into each other and finally getting what it is everyone is so persistent about.
So this is love?

I just realized that the Once Upon a Crime Cinderella is the Anti-Stolas. (Warning for Spoilers just in case)
Stolas is a rich and powerful prince who is glorified and romanticized even when he neglects his daughter (Seeing Stars) and sexually coerces his "love interest" (Murder Family). Anyone who has a problem with him has to either apologize and switch to his way of thinking (I.E. Octavia, Blitzo) or be vilified (I.E. Striker, Stella).
Cinderella is a poor young woman forced to slave away who's vilified the second she kills a creep in self defense. Yeah she did also try to frame Margot but 1. Margot abused her for years and killed her pet pigeon and 2. I feel like if Cinderella got arrested her family should've gotten arrested too for making her slave away yet that never happens.

Stolas Stans (And Vivziepop) Thinks He's Prince Charming When He's Really Prince Charmless
Let's be honest at this point Vivziepop and the stans see Stolas as this Prince Charming who can do no wrong and is the victim of a mean wife who prevented him from being truly happy. He's also just a good father who put up with hardship so he can give his baby girl a good life. All the while the love of his life doesn't return his affection even after he broke the original contract after seeing it was wrong and believes he's entitled to a happily ever after.
However, anyone with a critical eye can call bs on that by the way he just threw his family away for a booty call and coerced him into a sexual relationship while demeaning him all the way then had the nerve to cry when he called him out on pass treatment and didn't believe he was sincere. Yet, the narrative treats Blitzo as the monster for not putting up with his bs anymore and expects him to apologize.
In that essence, the only prince I could compare Stolas to is Akio from Revolutionary Girl Utena who acts like a regular prince charming on the surface but in reality is a predatory douche who uses people and claims victimhood when people turn on him for his actions. And in the case, of Stolas he fits Akio so much but we are expect to woobie him because he suffered abuse but became an abuser. The same thing that Akio went through he was a victim of abuse but eventually became a bigger abuser. And yet the narrative doesn't give him leeway and calls him out for using even his past abuse to absolve him of his current shittness. And again if Stolas was treated the way Akio is treated he shouldn't been given any pity for how he's treated others.

...You know, cinderella in Rise of Red is a real hypocrite! Her line, "I will never kneel to a tyrant." Okay, so you won't kneel to a tyrant in your own words.
But you WILL kneel to a CHILD INPRISONER AND DIRECT/INDIRECT CHILD KILLER for twenty years? (beast)
Okay then.

i love how spop has this underlying message of “see, our princesses aren't your typical princesses. they're unique and different”. and then they turned all of the princesses (with the exception of glimmer, scorpia and entrapta) into 2d stereotypical characters who aren't even good role models.
some of the disney princesses may not have been good fighters or physically strong, but they were still good role models. strength isn't just physical, it comes in many forms.
cinderella was an abuse victim who managed to be kind and open-minded, after everything she's been through.
belle teaches kids to focus on inner beauty and not judge a person by their appearance.
jasmine teaches kids to value their own freewill and choose their path for themselves.
ariel teaches kids to be curious about the world around them and pursue their dreams.
tiana teaches kids to be strong-willed and independent, but also to learn how to take things easy every once in a while.
what do the princesses of spop teach kids? to be ableist and uhh.. to constantly complain about their duties and responsibilities.
#i honestly hate the trend of bashing on disney princesses because they aren't your ideal image of what a strong woman should be#cinderella gets the most flack for this and everytime i see someone talk about how she is weak and docile#i want to smash their head against the wall#spop critical#spop salt#spop criticism#spop discourse#spop#she ra#anti spop#also i understand the importance of diversity in media#i get that kids would want to see people like them in cartoons#but what's the use of having diverse characters if they have no depth and are just diverse for diversity's sake?

Have you done Disney princess edition which Character better than Charlie morningstar
Alright, here is the Disney Princess edition of Non-Hazbin Hotel characters that are better than Charlie Morningstar.
I list the princesses from the movies and TV series (only one though) that I watched regardless if there are an official princesses in the Disney Princess franchise or not according to the Disney fandom wiki. Also I add Princess Atta on my list because the fandom wiki didn't add her to the unofficial princesses list.
Official Princesses (though Mulan was not born royal):
Former Official Princesses:
Unofficial Princesses (even though some of them aren't actually princesses):
I used to play Sofia the First webgames on Disney Junior as a kid.
