Hot take: I don't really like Disney's Peter Pan movie.

I don't hate it and I recognize that its animation was revolutionary at the time. I just don't enjoy watching it much.

I do kinda like the sequel and Tinkerbell movies though.

Idea: An edit of Brother Bear where everything is the same except it has the original version of the scene where Kenai confesses to killing Koda's mother.

Because the final version of that scene with the stupid song blaring over the dialogue (and the fact that the characters don't sing On My Way or the salmon run song) is literally my only problem with this movie. It's a banger otherwise.

Anastasia is a Disney movie through the Fox buyout only. Disney didn't make it and wouldn't have had the balls to make it. It's a Don Bluth movie and one of his best in fact.

Officially turning off reblogs on that one liveblog (and possibly others if I run into more problems) of Wish because I really just do not care about Wish enough to see notifications of y'all arguing over the morality of its characters. Especially since I don't recall ever arguing that Magnifico was morally pure. Just not villainous enough to convince me or get me invested in the hero's plight. It was a criticism of the movie's writing. I fully get that he IS the villain. And the writing of said villainy is flat out bad in my opinion.

Stop acting like I "don't understand the movie" because I didn't have the same opinion as you.

The song lyric you mentioned:

"You GET TO give your wish in a ceremony" sounds pretty voluntary to me.

Maybe giving your wish is the norm or there's some societal pressure to do it but I wouldn't blame either of those things solely on Magnifico if they were the case, which isn't stated in the film to my knowledge.

I mean they literally do since it was explicitly stated multiple times that the wishes were given to him WILLINGLY. It's not some kind of requirement for living here and even if it were, you all chose to come and live here so if your wishes were that damn important to you, you could've just... I don't know?! Not come to live here?! Just LEAVE?!

So yes Asha. What you're about to do is stealing from the king which is very much considered treason and I would be sympathetic to that if this movie did anything to show at this point that Magnifico wasn't anything other than looking out for his kingdom's safety. Again. At this point. Cuz I know some bullshit happens later.
