I’m so proud of people living with chronic health conditions. That shit is HARD. Idk who needs to hear this, but if no one else has said it: I’m proud of you. You’re sticking it out through so much pain and grief. That’s no small feat.
Every small thing you do for yourself health adds up. The grief is heavy and it comes from a place of love. The grief knows the pain is wronging you.
I’m proud of you. I hope on the good days you can be proud of yourself.
Keep going.

Sending love to everyone who has health issues or chronic pain in parts of your body that aren’t usually socially acceptable to talk about. It’s frustrating to feel like you can never explain your pain to someone because it’s TMI and to feel like you have to hide it. Your pain is nothing to be ashamed of. I see you, and I’m sending you support and strength.

Ah yes, my favorite chronic illness game: is this normal, is this new, or am I dying?

Hey, listen here. Psst, down here.
Disability isn't a competition. You are not less or more disabled than another disabled individual. No one is "disabled enough." Saying that certain disabilities are not valid is ableism. You are not immune to ableism just because you're disabled.
If it affects your ability to do activities negatively, it's a disability.
Yes, this means chronic pain, yes this means joint pain, this means sensory issues, this means mental issues, this means brain damage, this means deformities, this mean developmental disabilities like ADHD, this means tic disorders and tics themselves, this means all disabilities. All disability is disabled enough.

Me: I don't like when evil characters in movies redeem themselves by losing an arm, becoming paralithic or disabled in general. Disabilities are not a punishment: anyone, good, bad or anything in between can have them. They are just like any other trait. Stop treating them any different
Also me, explaining my disability: I'm Cursed

teach your kids that bladder and bowel problems arent funny.
teach them it is not okay to laugh at someone elses bodily functions.
teach them that just because you find something gross, doesnt make it okay to make fun of it.
teach them just how some people have asthma or allergies some people cant control their bladder or bowels.
it is ableist to make fun of this. dont let your disability allyship leave the moment something is gross.

Can we normalize talking about our stomach issues without shame? It's a little hard to be asked what's wrong and not be able to say something like, "I have multiple stomach issues that give me explosive diarrhea just by breathing. Leave me alone. I feel disgusted with myself and want to rip my intestines out" instead of something silly like, "Oh, I'm just a little sick of my stomach haha".

Just saw a vid of a woman saying how being chronically ill means slowly going insane but being forced to pretend you’re not and I feel that pretty hard.
Anyone that goes to war with their body and will never be the same emotionally, I see you and you’re not alone 💕
