#christmas problems

I love my routine, but nobody cared. my nighttime routine was ruined and now i'm miserable. I eat at 8 pm, brush my teeth and take my pills at 9, and go to bed by 10:30. That's my routine, and it's how I always do things. I like it that way. But today, things went all awry.

Today, my grandfather got drunk and wouldn't take me home. My dad was (justifiably) scared of conflict and wouldn't stand up to them. I screamed. I yelled. I cried and threatened to walk home. But nothing changed. I want them to leave. now. they've only hurt me. But i'll forgive him, because he's an affectionate drunk. silly, too. So despite his teasing and his neglect when he's drunk (his emotions are all over place as a drinker), i may forgive. But it was still really, really rough. I can't forgive him completely, though. He blew cigarette smoke in my face accidentally. So that was…fun. I now know that drunk people scare me. They're unpredictable, and now I'm gonna have trouble unseeing my grandfather at his most alcoholic.

Well I'm in hell my headphones decided to break and I'm 99% sure my warranty is up and I don't have 80$ for the cheapest ones I can get quickly (and have nothing to offer for money from strangers also don't have PayPal or anything like that )

My body is in massive amounts of pain (post Tylenol extra strength) and my mind is being a bitch about my agab

I'm pretty sure I'm burnt out or headed for a deeper depressive episode

I don't have enough bus tickets to justify not walking to work tomorrow and Saturday which means I'm out of the house at 6 am Saturday and not returning until god knows when I've not been able to get to sleep before 3 am all week

My Dndads Patreon bounced

I still need to get more stuff for my sister for Christmas and get my brother his gift because my mom has a fairness thing price wise for the kids and Pokemon card packs are fucking expensive

And something physical for both parents despite getting them expensive tickets for a band they like I'm sure it's not actually that bad compared to other bands but I'm working minimum wage with unstable hours

With all this I can't justify to myself calling out of work

If I push through I've got an extra 49 ish dollars next paycheck which is more than half the headphones or almost a 15 day bus pass

Also committed myself to a project that I underestimated

I'm nervous for company to arrive today. I already made a post before explaining all this in more detail, but I always get nervous when company comes to visit. I feel like I have to walk on eggshells in a way that I don't have to when it's just me and my dad. So having them stay over from today until friday is going to be...fun. i mean, my grandfather/poppy (whatever term you'd prefer) is nice, but he has a low attention span and doesn't often focus if i want to show him stuff. And his girlfriend is overbearing. Not cruel or malicious, just overbearing in her attempts to show affection.

I don't hate my grandfather or his partner. I really don't. But still, I have a very low social tolerance, and they always end up testing that tolerance. Still, I suppose me and my dad will just have to tolerate everything. We always get through it, but it's still always a lot. So I just needed to vent about it. Because they'll probably show up later today, and so I had a lot I needed to say here. sigh...

Shout out to all my Christmas haters out there.

The ones who don’t celebrate cause of religious/cultural reasons and are annoyed at the onslaught of Christmas for three months a year.

The ones who due to family circumstances or trauma have come to hate the holiday and the forced reunion with their abusers.

The ones who hate the commercialization of the holiday and the saccharine, falsely sweet crap and music and nostalgic notes shoved into ads to sell crap you don’t need.

The ones who just honestly don’t care about it at all. To them December 25th is just another day.

The ones who are resentful that this is the ONE religious federal holiday in the year and if you have other holidays, tough tits getting it off.

The neurodivergent ones who hate Christmas for its forced togetherness with people they don’t like, gift giving, and disruption of routine.

I’m here. I see you. You aren’t scrooges. You aren’t grinches. You are all awesome and I love you.
