Christmas Eve family gathering is already making me want to rip my hair out. According to my mom I’m being rude because I put my headphones on simply to... *checks notes* Respond to a text because I couldn’t hear my screen reader through all the conversation and to block out the noise because I was starting to feel a bit overstimulated by how loud it was getting.

This post is for anyone who struggles with holidays (especially Christmas time). I just want to say that you are not alone. Whatever your struggles are, whether it’s bad memories, trauma, etc, you are valid and you are not alone. You got this, you can get through this. Today might be harder than a regular day, and that’s okay. It’s okay for you to struggle, and for the day to be difficult. You will persevere. You are strong. I believe in your ability to work through, process, and heal from these struggles.

I'm nervous for company to arrive today. I already made a post before explaining all this in more detail, but I always get nervous when company comes to visit. I feel like I have to walk on eggshells in a way that I don't have to when it's just me and my dad. So having them stay over from today until friday is going to be...fun. i mean, my grandfather/poppy (whatever term you'd prefer) is nice, but he has a low attention span and doesn't often focus if i want to show him stuff. And his girlfriend is overbearing. Not cruel or malicious, just overbearing in her attempts to show affection.

I don't hate my grandfather or his partner. I really don't. But still, I have a very low social tolerance, and they always end up testing that tolerance. Still, I suppose me and my dad will just have to tolerate everything. We always get through it, but it's still always a lot. So I just needed to vent about it. Because they'll probably show up later today, and so I had a lot I needed to say here. sigh...

Me and my dad woke up at 5 am/6 am today. But now it's 9 am, and my grandfather is only now beginning to wake up! We've had to tiptoe around the house, so that we don't wake them up (because i'm afraid of facing confrontation and dealing with them mad at me). But if I ever felt super sedentary before, now I feel even more sedentary. I haven't really read many of my comics downloads, I haven't been able to use the internet much, I haven't watched anything, we've done absolutely nothing! And that's just adding to my hatred of company.
