As far as we know, Anya has Frankie as best uncle,

and Handler as the nice auntie, who may or may not be Anya's bio mom(a theory for another day);

but we're not talking enough about mr. Henderson as an honorary grandpa enough, he's probably some of the only ones outside of WISE and few others who cares for the Forger family this much (even if it was mostly just him being a decent educator, and righting what he felt he had done wrong to someone he respects)

Let's be honest, it's all a big bunch of incestuous relations in Westeros, isn't it? Even Robert and Rhaegar share a family line since they both descend from Targaryen blood (Robert’s grandmother, Rhaelle Targaryen, was the daughter of Aegon V). So Robert’s conquest of the Iron Throne was, in a twisted way, just the Targaryen family claiming it from itself!

(And with this in mind, Jon's whole conflict about Dany being his aunt, in the show, doesn't make much sense)

What do Runningflight and Onewhisker think of Heatherstep?

It’s… complicated.

On one paw, she was their mother. Maybe not through blood, but she was their guardian; she loved them fiercely, claimed them as her own within a culture that values blood above all, and expressed gentle, genuine pride in them and their actions as they grew. But… she was only alive and with them for a terribly short time, barely even long enough for them to grow old enough for their training to take them outside of their camp.

Runningflight views Heatherstep as his mother, but his memories of her are vague and blurred through time. Since Onewhisker cut all ties to Runningflight and his family, it would have made the most sense for him to also cut out Heatherstep… but he was a momma’s boy, for however little time she stuck around, and even into his adulthood he still asks for other’s memories of her in an attempt to feel her presence and pride with him once more.

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good

was talking with a friend about how some of dunmeshi fаndom misunderstands kabru's initial feelings towards laios.

to sum up kabru's situation via a self-contained modernized metaphor:

kabru is like a guy who lost his entire family in a highly traumatic car accident. years later he joins a discord server and takes note of laios, another server member who seems interesting, so they start chatting. then laios reveals his special interest and favorite movie of all time is David Cronenberg's Crash (1996), and invites kabru to go watch a demolition derby with him

i feel like not enough ppl are factoring in the cultural clash between laios and shuro and the many micro agressions shuro faced while being in their group. literally the name 'shuro' in itself is one

his name is toshiro 😭 lets also not forget that he has his own communication issues, in the opposite way that laios does- thats literally a factor in their argument, that his envy for laios's ability to express himself sincerely manifested as part of his distaste for him.

ig all this to say like, was their fight heart wrenching, especially when reading laios as autistic? absolutely. anybody whos ever been in laios's position knows how much it hurts to realize someone you thought was your friend doesnt actually like having you around, especially when they didnt tell you and you had no way of knowing due to not understanding their cues. but im begging yall to step back and see the nuance of this situation cause im gonna be real a lot of you are kinda just brushing over it acting like everything is toshiros fault and that hes a terrible person when in reality hes an average guy who really, really clashed with laios and it led to a very long misunderstanding due to their supremely opposite methods of communication. even laios and toshiro, after letting everything out in their fight, were able to come to an understanding and start a foundation for an actual friendship built on better communication

ok yknow what Edit: i shouldve made it even more explicit at the end of this post, i hadnt thought i would need to since i started the post with this, but i think a few too many people are missing my point so i just wanna clarify. i shouldnt have said 'really clashed' and left it at that because yeah they did, but it wasnt just their opposite methods of communication, it is also very much that toshiro was experiencing microaggressions via laios. it may have been unintentional on laios's part, but it still happened and wore him down, made it harder for him to communicate on top of both the more subtle social cues that he was raised with and his own communication difficulties. i also want to say that the fandom reaction to toshiro and the complete ignorance of this point is also racist tbh or at the very least ignorant. i understand that the anime did not cover this panel, and neither did the manga, as this was an omake, but im gonna be real with you guys. there are enough context clues within the story to clue you into this. if you didnt pick up on it thats ok, but i think this is a good lesson in picking up subtext in the stories that youre watching and/or reading. kui shouldnt have to explicitly say 'by the way laios was racist to toshiro' for this point to be understood, and at the very least, when the author portrays a character in a sympathetic light (as kui clearly does) it should make you question Why they are doing so and what makes them sympathetic, rather than youre immediate and only reaction to be 'well i hated what this guy did/said so i hate them and they suck'. idk exactly how to finish this, just. idk. question your biases and gut reactions to things you see in media and stories, and think about whether or not theres subtext that youre missing.

I'm going to focus on non-canonically proven Whom related to Whom theories, so I'll put in the probable reason why it came to be as well:

(Spoilers: it's mostly just quirk, appearance, personality, and/or mannerism similarities based)(also spoilers if you haven't finished the manga, so anime-onlys beware!)

Hisashi Midoriya is related to Enji Todoroki/Endeavor

Because fire breathing and making fire is pretty close, in a way.

Izuku Midoriya is related to Hisashi Midoriya

The DFO theory.

Inko Midoriya is related to Nana Shimura and/or Reiko Yanagi

Because quirks be similar,

And the similar hairstyle of the former 2, but lots of the cast uses a similar hair style at times so it could just be the Horokoshi's preference.

Ochaco Uraraka is related to Nana Shimura and Tenko Shimura/Tomura Shigaraki

This one is a theory I don't see much of as compared to others, but it makes sense why it isn't, especially after the reveal of how the Decay quirk actually came to be;

At least she still could be related to Nana, and these 2's interaction most likely going to result in a deadly game of tag is a mental image I can't unsee (they're both have a 5-pointer activation requirement).

I also saw it in a fic where Ochaco saw a photo of Nana and told Izuku she's related to her, and Izuku realises multiple times that there are more people he know that are related to one another than he thought.

the Midoriyas (more likely Inko's side, and by extension, Izuku) are related to Mirai Sasaki/Sir Nighteye

Funny how Gendry and Jon are cousins. And Dany is like aunt of both of them, I think? She’s obviously Jon’s. But her and Robert were like second cousins? So technically….

I know in Westeros second cousins are strangers and very distant but now days, at least in my family, that still means close family 😵‍💫 maybe we’re still close because they/we haven’t had many kids, if at all

I never thought about it, but it is funny!! And somehow so many characters are related that we kinda forget about? Just did a quick research and apparently Jorah is Margaery and Loras' uncle through marriage (since his wife and their mom are sisters) and Sam and Shireen are also related by blood (found this thread about the topic). It's not important for the story but still interesting to know! :)
