HTP; Ghoul Lore Audio Log Spoilers/Analysis/Discussion

Dude holy shit uh Spoiler barrier and then all in cause

Okay Okay fuck where to begin this episode literally changes everything okay I guess lets start at the Draught. Based on what we know about this unique Draught, it means Grimal might not be the ghoul?? If the ghoul potentially has this Draught (which I vaguely doubt will come into play in this arc specifically) it could mean anyone could be the ghoul so long as they were only in a place without 1 other person. Atleast I assume so because if they could use this high power Dominate on multiple people simultaneously then this whole operation would be cooked from the start. While I was very mixed on the idea of Gloria as the Ghoul previously, I think its far more possible now. This high level Dominate (Lets assume 4 dots) This ghoul could have access to Rationalize or Forgetful Mind, Or any others in that category. If Grimal is was being commanded to act that could explain why everything is so suspicious around her. Have someone else go in and take care of Occam while the ghoul sits with someone else and has the perfect alibi. So now I think the possibilities for Ghoul are; 1. Grimal is the Ghoul (The Draught is a red herring and simply setting up something in a future arc instead of this current one.) 2. Gloria is the Ghoul & has this Draught; this is based more on Vibes and the fact Gloria doesn't actually do too much in part 1 outside checking Occam's pulse. If she's the ghoul and commanded someone (Namely Grimal) to attack Occam, she would have a vested interested in knowing if the attack was successful. Okay thats about it for my thoughts on the Ghoul right now. Onto the far more important bit of this episode. Because this was not simpyl a Ghoul Lore episode, THIS WAS A MARCKUS LORE EPISODE TROJAN HORSE.

But before the deep Marckus shit- Markus was 12 in 1988. Door was present and seems to be in his 20s or 30s. Boy has not been born yet and Boy is 11 in 2006 so he was born in like 1995. So I think its reasonable to place door as being in his 20s here, having Boy in his 30s. This means Door is probably 8-15? (Maybe) years older than Markus which would make him roughly 40 in modern day. D does look markedly younger in these photographs but I'm not sure if thats art style or actually because he's aged. It does put a damped on my thoughts about D being MUCH older than he seems. But we do know his previous Ex-Wife Rozalia (The Ghoul) is roughly 108 in modern day. It seems to be implied D had met & later married her after she was pretty deep into being a ghoul so there probably was a large age gap already. But it still kinda stands out to me. D is very afraid or Marckus becoming a Ghoul because he sees himself in him. I don't necessarily think D was a ghoul (thought it could explain his weird age). Thought all this might be confirmation Bias as in the more recent episodes D's hair has been more consistently colored with grey streaks when compared to earlier episodes where it was more like a sheen in his hair. It just feels like D has done too much to only be roughly in his 60-70s and very fit. While older people can certainly be in good physical condition it doesnt seem like D has suffered any real negatives from aging? He's MINIMUM 18 years older than Door who is in his 40s but again that's a low ball. I don't know. Alright time for the Marckus stuff. So its rather basic background knowledge that HTP's main cast is inspired by the cast of Warhammer 40k TTS. Now up until this point I had thought it was mostly a baseline thing. Only really carrying over personalities and vague relationships between characters while having the freedom to change them with that background knowledge. But based on this episode it appears to be more relevant.

Whatever the fuck Marckus managed to summon, It was something not even D understood. This is in directly parallel with 40k's Magnus who Marckus is based on. For those who don't know about 40k lore (I don't blame you its VERY long.), Magnus is a Primarch (Emperor's special kids) who ended up being manipulated by 40k's god of trickery and ended up fucking up literally everything because of his lack of thinking things through and the influence of said trickster god. Gods in 40k are manifestations of humanity (and alien's) collective subconscious minds and often take the forms of their most volatile negative aspects. They're entited formed from 'The Warp' which is the source of magic in 40k. Magnus is very naturally tuned to the warp. Almost all the issues in TTS (and 40k) relating to Magnus are because he has a MASSIVE complex. He craves parental affection and affirmation but in TTS every time he thinks hes denied it, some shit goes wrong. When he actually gets that parental affection (Earlier season 2 iirc) he mellows out alot until finding out the only reason the emperor (D's counterpart) brought him back was so that Magnus would act as a pawn and decoy in his 5d chess game to deal with political enemies. Magnus is not happy about this. With all this background information, whats present in this episode slots into place. Marckus seems to have forgotten about the incident yes. The better case is that he blocked out the memory due to trauma. But the worse possibility is that a seed was planted. One that's been festering within him since that time. D may be planning to tell Marckus everything in a few months, But I get the feeling before those months are up, That seed will sprout. In one form or another, Marckus will be given the option to go down the same path of darkness as his predecessor. I don't think Marckus would go for such a path without a push but the one providing that push might be D, even if unintentionally. D is so focused on the forest that he's missing the trees.

Moxxie Redesign! (2/4)

You didn’t think I forgot about this did you? ‘,:/

I wanted to base Moxxie off of what his name actually implies, having nerve and determination. Ive almost entirely changed his personality in certain ways. He is still an assassin but he takes his job very seriously and struggles with his inner morals because of this. Being berated by Blitz often leads to him pushing aside his concerns with his job and causing internal conflict instead that he typically only ever talks to these issues about Millie. She is trying to get him to consider therapy but he doesn’t want to lose his “sparkle” (he gives in eventually and goes and it goes fine, this would be around season 2 but definitely after episode 6)

Moxxie also doubles as a medic for any potential injuries at I.M.P (this happens often). Moxxie was also born in greed so he has the more aquatic qualities of a greed imp such as the little headlamp, frills, and gills. And for any fish nerds, yes I know only female angler fish have headlamps, thats the point. Viv has literally no main trans characters so I guess I have to do everything myself. Plus I’m tired of the super straight shit that happened a few years back, Millie isn’t any less straight for dating a trans man. I think Moxxie certainly struggles with his masculinity and also takes his job so seriously as a way to prove to himself that he’s meeting some sort of “masculinity criteria” however he’s fully aware of how silly the mindset is (hes working on it). I think som trans imps may definitely paint their horns like Moxxie, but with certain days I really doubt he gives much of a shit considering it probably gets chipped a lot anyway.

Moxxie still hates his upbringing and the greed ring leaves a sour taste in his mouth, however he prefers to use his knowledge and features from greed in his work. For example, preforming minor surgery under his headlight, it’s goofy as hell and I think any show benefits from some extent of stupid silliness like that. It’s also good for distractions!

Moxxie isn’t always super serious like in this art either, he’s still a bit stupid but still respects himself. Tough nut to crack because of his past but is very kind underneath somewhere.

Heres some notes I went off while working!

Could you elaborate why you think Big and Might/Will be Bad Wolf is more fitting for Hong Lu than Heath? Cus it's story of being forced to only be the villain because of *what* it is is pretty much exactly Heathcliff's experience with WH mistreating him because of his Backstreet origin and his subsequent lashing out thats attriubted solely to his 'nature' (not to mention his canonical wolf Distortion, and being called the Wolf in the Wildhunt world, and dogs/wolves being a strong association to him in his source), so I'm very curious.

Heathcliff screams dogs/wolves to me more than any one else by a longshot, for the above reasons.

I am so glad you asked, because this is something I've been wanting an excuse to yap about ever since I posted that art!

Big and Will be Bad Wolf is an Abnormality which, while straightforward on the surface, has a lot of interesting nuanced subtleties to it that are the main reason why I assign it the way I do.

The gist of the Abnormality is that it's an initially cute and even kind wolf who is "destined" to become the Big Bad Wolf, becoming the villain of another story, simply because of the way it was born. It was fated to be hungry, unable to fill its stomach enough to feel sated. Fated to be alone, to be hurt as the one who becomes an example and gets punished.

If we were to stop here, then sure, Heathcliff could reasonably fit the themes here. He's forced into being a villain purely because of his birth, forced into a destiny that makes him unfulfilled, dehumanized, and unfairly punished.

However, it's when you get to the subtleties that Heathcliff begins to clash severely with what Big and Will be Bad Wolf is actually about.

First of all, and most notable when you look at the Wolf's flavor text in Ruina, is its complete resignation and acceptance of its role. The Wolf doesn't fight against its destiny, it doesn't try to change, but rather the opposite. It's fully resigned to the fact it will be hurt, be called by no name, and have to hurt others, to the point where it slowly stops caring about anything other than its own hunger.

This is, if you know anything about our Heathcliff, in complete contrast to everything his character stands for. Heathcliff's entire character arc is about him rejecting that very role being forced upon him. He has the resolve to prove that he's just as human and just as worthy of respect as everyone else. And he refuses to stop fighting for that right to be recognised as a person at all cost.

The second nuance I'd like to bring up is one that already has been mentioned here and there, that being the overwhelming hunger the Wolf feels which is what causes it to lash out. Just like the previous theme, it's primarily seen in Ruina, though in this case more so in the Floor Realization for the Floor of Language and how it relates to Roland. The Wolf, similarly to Roland, has a void within it that it cannot fill no matter how much meat it eats, how much violence it commits.

Again, despite all the memes the fandom might make about Heathcliff Black Silence, he's really nothing like Roland in this department at all. In a way, Heathcliff is almost too full, his being so focused on Catherine he has barely any space to be concerned with anything else. Even after her death, he refuses to give up on her, despite how impossible his chances at getting her back may be. There is no void to fill with meaningless violence, but rather a direct purpose to strive towards.

So, that's what I have on why Heathcliff, despite how he may seem fitting for it on the surface, is actually deeply opposed to everything Big and Will be Bad Wolf stands for on a thematic level.

Here's where the fun part begins though. Because if not Heathcliff, then why Hong Lu, right?

See, we already know from the fact that Hong Lu has Rose Hunter E.G.O that he too has a certain role he's destined to fulfill, one that he finds undesireable but also one that he can't truly escape from.

I believe that in the case of Hong Lu, the role of the Wolf would be representing his birth status as a Jia. Think about it. Everything we've seen of the Jias show them as hostile at best and extremely violent and downright villainous at worst. If Hong Lu has any similarities in status to Baoyu, that being that he's a sort of "chosen" Heir to the Family, then that means his role as yet another perpetrator of the Jias' violent ways is all but predestined.

You can even say that Hong Lu has a notable parallel to how Big and Will be Bad Wolf presents itself, that of course being kind and cute on the surface, but repressing a deeply unfulfilled and violent side with what little resolve it may have left.

And speaking of resolve, this is where Hong Lu matches the Wolf much closely than Heathcliff. There is a constant thematic thread of hopelessness and meaninglessness in Hong Lu's character. Even if he might have run away for now, the way he speaks about meeting his Family again makes it clear he doesn't believe it will last. There's a notable resignation and acceptance of the fact that no matter what he does, he will be dragged back to his Family and stripped of the name he gave himself. Born a Jia, always a Jia, you could even say.

Unlike Heathcliff, who constantly fights back to assert his existence as a person who deserves equal respect, Hong Lu simply lies down and takes everything thrown his way. The Wolf is an inherently Slothful figure, a trait which matches Hong Lu far better than Heathcliff.

Hell, Hong Lu even shares a specific sentiment about that with the Wolf. In Ruina, one of the Wolf's possible flavor text quotes is "There’s no need to be nice to me… I’m destined to be a big bad wolf…" Doesn't that sound familiar? Doesn't that seem so similar to how Hong Lu expressed that he understood why his Family members wanted to kill him, and thus didn't bother to fight back?

Then, of course, we come back to hunger. And here I have to get a little bit more speculative, but not as much as you would think. See, I believe Hong Lu is much more similar to Roland in this case than Heathcliff. Everything points to the fact that Daiyu is not only dead, but left behind a void in Baoyu/Hong Lu, one that he tries to ignore but one which clearly taunts him into snapping and falling into that "meaningless wrath".

If you're wondering what exactly I mean, I go way more in depth about Hong Lu's repressed anger and how Daiyu's death appears to be what causes it to leak out in this post. However, to summarize how it ties back to Roland and the Wolf, I believe that just like for Roland, the void left behind Daiyu's death is what ends up causing Hong Lu to lash out and will eventually drive him to outright meaningless violence. An attempt to fill one's life with anything after their meaning was taken away from them. Which is exactly what the Wolf reflects through its endless hunger, unable to be satisfied no matter how much it eats and kills.

Honestly, Hong Lu is kind of a sleeper pick for Cobalt Scar with just how much he fits it. I'd almost say it's shocking that I've only seen like one other person similarly assign it to him, but it's really not. Hong Lu is one of those characters that repeatedly gets sanded down due to how he presents himself, with his more worrying and violent tendencies being ignored in favor of falling for his facade. After all, one has to first accept the fact that Hong Lu not only has a capacity for violence, but even the potential to outright enjoy it, to be able to see the reasoning for Cobalt Scar as an E.G.O for him.

Mellonie does FOP + A New Wish Analysis: 1

This is what a week of AC and Antifairy brainrot has led to. After this I think I’m going to actually watch through the entire original series from the Oh Yeah! Shorts all the way to Season 10. (Hopefully I wont hate it too much.) And then rewatch ANW again once it hits streaming for the full FOP experience. And also so I could maybe do more of this analysis stuff, its fun.

Plans for later aside, this and any I do in the future, will only use episodes the character actually appears in, and not ones that they are merely mentioned in. Its also important to note that I likely wont use all the episodes the Character appears in.

That old black magic is the introduction to Anti-Cosmo, Anti-Wanda, and the Anti-Fairies as a whole. They’re described as “Regular Fairies, but anti.”

This episode establishes a few things:

1.Fairy magic cannot interfere with Anti-fairy magic.

2.On Friday the 13th, Antifairies escape from Fairyworld and cause bad luck. Antifairies are naturally drawn to anything that triggers bad luck to happen.

3.Antifairies can only be seen by humans with anti-fairy goggles.

4.Antifairies are opposites of their fairy counterpart in personality. AW is “incredibly stupid and eats with her feet.” AC is “not an idiot, in any matter once so ever.”

But what’s really interesting about this episode is what Jorgen and Anti-Cosmo have to say about the anti-fairies.

“No one is allowed in Anti-fairy world!”

“You see, we��ve been trapped behind that blasted barrier for centuries.”

Jorgen, you cant just imprison a whole group without expecting any problems. Its no wonder they wanted to escape so badly. Is causing bad luck something, well, bad, enough to warrant the imprisonment of an entire race? The anti-fairies arent good at all, obviously, but they are biologically made to thrive off of bad luck and negative energy. This really muddies the waters when it comes to seeing this as a solely ‘black and white’ situation. Most, but not all, of what AC does is for the antifairies. He’s evil and chaotic by nature, but he’s not evil evil, yknow.

There isnt really anything else noteworthy to say about that old black magic outside of this, but I did notice that AC knew Timmy’s name despite the fact he never met him before that point, somehow. I merely brush it off as a minor goof and just figure AC mustve made a lucky (haha) guess, but if you want a crazy theory to explain it, then maybe anti-fairies share vague recollections or memories with their fairy counterparts. I dont actually think thats true, but theres your food for thought.

The second appearance of the antifairies, The Gland Plan instantly ditches the entire ‘antifairy goggles’ thing, which is honestly for the better, even if I do think it made anti-fairies more unique. They are sadly never getting the invisibilty thing back.

This episode establishes that the faggigly gland is a special organ in a fairies body that allows the fairy to change shape, and that both fairies and anti-fairies have one. Fairy biology in general is really questionable, especially if you factor in the angel forms from A New Wish, but thats a topic for another day.

A few things to note:

1.This is the start of that “Hello, Clarice.” quote that AC and Foop/Irep use. Its a reference to Silence of the Lambs but its a misquote anyway because Lecter never even says hello to Clarice.

2.AC claims that he cant see a thing without his monocle. If he isnt lying about that and isnt using the monocle only as a symbol of prestige, then he has really terrible eyesight and is most likely completely blind in one eye.

3.Despite AC calling his wife a twit, he prefaces it by saying that he loves her very much. Most instances of AC talking to his wife does include him being typically annoyed when she messes with his plans, but outside of that he acts courteous towards her. (“Chin up, my beloved Anti-Wanda! Your savior, Anti-Cosmo, will have you all free presently!”)

4.The more questionable line is when Anti-Cosmo and Cosmo are having the operation and AC claims that if he does live, Cosmo should take his wife. Needless to say, AC words things very poorly at times, but this statement does have them acknowledging that an anti-fairy and a fairy could hypothetically be with one another’s counterpart.

“Cosmo, old friend, since we both carry a piece of each other inside of us, I see no reason for us to do battle. But I warn you, don't look for me.”

AC doesnt hold that much ill-will towards Cosmo like how I figure most would expect him to. He seems to be fed up and annoyed by his counterpart’s foolishness, but he does not despise him.

Right as the episode ends, Timmy brings up the idea that maybe more than the faggigly glands got transplanted. There isnt much evidence to support this outside of the brief voice change Anti-Cosmo and Cosmo had, but I’m starting to think Timmy was right considering how Anti-Cosmo acts in A New Wish.

I dont know if AC and AW retired like Wanda and Cosmo did, but I feel like AC’s very obvious decline in intelligence is a likely theory as to why Irep now seems to be in charge of the anti-fairies as shown in A New Wish.

I frankly can’t see the New Wish Version of AC leading the antifairies compared to how he acted in the old show. Not when he now thinks leaving a cage unattended is a “good idea.” That isnt something AC would say at all if we’re going off of his original characterization. It’s interesting to think of a reason in-universe as to how he went from “not an idiot, in any matter once so ever.” to someone who definitely is not as smart as he use to be.

Fun facts about my TEAPs AU!!

Eclipse has a soul, no, like an actual soul. It's a version of Cassidy, named Susie Edwards, who was Moon's biggest fan and first kill...or IG kill codes since Moon has no memory of it. I have its cause of death fully written out for me to draw...eventually...(I also changed Susie's design recently!)

Susies death happened on the 4th week the daycare was open, they were a HUGE fan of Moon and hated Sun, and they were also the problem child...biting kids...bullying kids...breaking toys, throwing fits...the works.

So, one night while in time out after biting Suns rays and throwing scissors at one of the other kids, it drew a "Better sun" *Cough cough*...just what Eclipse looks like *cough cough* and waited until naptime(hiding in the ballpit) to show it to Moon. While bragging, Moon picked them up(practically breaking their arm counting by the fact he was holding it by the arm) and then dropped them down from as high as you can go into the ballpit.

Their head hit the edge of the ballpit and they died from impact.

They were tethered to killcode out of spite and didn't gain full conscious until "Eclipse" gained control.

Going to present time, Eclipse HATES going soul form, but if he did his body would power off and then Susie...exsists! The problem is Susie is chained to the body(literally) meaning he cannot get more than a few steps away.

He died at 14, and sees himself as responsible for Charlie and the stitchlets rather than their parental figure.

Eclipse is TERRIFIED of heights. He will squeal like a little girl if he ascends too high. Thats why Charlie puts him in air jail whenever he gets a bit too mean.

His shadow looks like his ghost, which can be creepy when he's asleep and his shadow is just smiling at you. That is also why Charlie can sense him.

Also Andrew is forever banned from Monty Golf.

THE NON CANON PARTS OF THE BLACK BUTLER ANIME IN BOTH SEASON 1 AND 2 AND ALSO THE SPECIALS WERE WILD

Ciel hires a random naked dog man who can turn into a giant wolf to be his servant even though he literally does nothing around the manor and just hangs out with Finny all the time

Finny forms a crush on a character we later find out is an angel named Angela and after the dog village arc ends we never hear of his crush again

For the most part the curry arc is the same, but for some reason they decided to change the ending. In the manga Lau and Ranmao killed Nina and her husband, in the anime everyone becomes evil by eating curry, and Sebastian had to feed them all his curry buns to turn them all good again, WHAT??

Sebastian has sex with a Nun in some cult church

Angela took Vincent and Rachel's bodies and stitched them into a weird Frankenstein looking thing because apparently that would combine their souls in the afterlife so they could be together forever

Also the whole thing with Ciel being kidnapped by the cult is never explained despite Queen Victoria and Angela being responsible for the death of his parents, therefore you'd think they'd also be responsible for the whole cult thing? But they would have no reason to sell a 10 year old to be abused by a cult-

Claude then crushed Alois' skull and takes his soul and puts it in a ring

Kids are getting their eyeballs ripped out and apparently Alois is doing all of this, but for some reason Scotland yard THINKS CIEL IS ALOIS WHICH IS SO DUMB BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN WORKING WITH HIM EVER SINCE HE BECAME THE QUEENS CORGI GUARD DOG

He is taken to some doctor and is dumped into a pool of gatorade to fuse his and Alois' souls

Ciel's backstory is basically half of Alois' and half of Ciel's and thinks Sebastian killed his brother Luca

Ciel doesn't like Claude because Claude is a goober

Hannah does a weird thing with Ciel she like... Possesses him? And his eyeball appears in her mouth or something? I had no idea what was going on

Soon it is revealed Hannah was the one who ate Luca's soul and is now feeling like a mother figure for Alois because of it

Grell shows up again (yay) and she keeps trying to take sexy photos of Sebastian

Soon Claude and Sebastian end up at a maze thingy and they need to answer trivia questions to get to Alois/Ciel's soul

Soon they go to some demon island and they end up fighting using a demon sword while Ciel and Alois talk about shit in some void

Claude fucking dies (rip goober)

Alois' soul is finally set free and the poor kid gets to be with his little brother again

Well, here’s what actually happened and why team Jacob even exists in the first place. There’s a clear split as to what this series is. There’s Twilight and Forever Dawn and then there’s New Moon and Eclipse. She wrote Jake cuz her publisher needed more and she ended up naturally writing the better love interest for Bella, became attached to his character and couldn’t stop writing him. But then she changed Nothing about forever Dawn… so that’s what BD is and why it doesn’t at all match up with the last two books. This is why it’s so easy for me to discard BD like it’s a rotten ass fruit…..

Like I love Jacob cause he’s flawed, nuanced and the only one with common sense in this damn series. He starts as a sweetie sun boy in new moon and then he turns into a dick and an asshole sometimes. I think this is an unpopular decision but I actually like this about Jacob lol. Could you imagine he was sunny boy Jake throughout the shit he’s put through? For what? For him to get even MORE walked on? Nah fuck that. He should be angry. But yeah I’m just tired of the eclipse kiss being the only thing brought up lol. But the confederate and his shitty control freak wife are angels<333 they’re the good guys! Edward’s obsessive stalking a week into knowing Bella I feel is horrible and violating but ok go off! Unfortunately I haven’t been drawing them recently, so most of my art are gonna have their old designs bleh. I also have a lot of OCs so I’m just gonna talk about the main four!

This is the main group of the story! In order, their names are Beatrice, Garah, Nick and Eli.

First off, Beatrice is a human who’s been closed off from the outside world by her kingdom because the entire planet has been overtaken by monsters. Humans were scared of this change and so they barricaded themselves from everyone else. Beatrice however, got bored of her home and decided to explore the world and make new friends.

She’s brave, impulsive, curious and optimistic. People at home didn’t really like her cause she’s a bit weird, so she got bullied a lot. Her dad also wasn’t the best at showing love, so she was miserable in the human society. She’s hoping that she’ll find a place that would accept her somewhere else.

Secondly, Garah!! She’s a goblin witch who really loves making random potions. She’s also able to do levitation magic, but it’s pretty weak, only able to pick up small objects. She wants to be able to make all the potions in all books.

She’s quick witted, creative, arrogant and sometimes over confident. Her backstory is kinda long but basically after her mom died from sickness, she decided to work in a shady bar. Then she got into an abusive relationship with her boss and got arrested by the police for stealing drugs. Beatrice and Nick broke her out of her cell.

Thirdly, Nick the goat man!! He’s like super strong and tough, also pretty big. He’s the tank of the group! He also dyed his hair blue and his pronouns are he/him

He was in love with his fiancé but then she died from a rare disease, so he got all depressed, lost his purpose in life. Instead of getting a life and move on he decided to go in a forest and wallow in his own self pity for like 2 years. He acts all serious and scary but he’s actually very antisocial and emotional.

And finally, here’s Eli the drow! He’s got healing powers and can move really fast (his anxiety gives him a boost lol). He’s also a big nerd and has read a lot A LOT of books as a kid, so he’s very knowledgeable about most things, although the real world is sometimes different from what he knows.

He is VERY anxious, cautious, kind and always follows his morals. He kinda sees the world in black and white, but he’s trying to learn how to break away from that mindset. After not being able to save his best friend’s life as a kid, he’s always willing to help those in danger.

They’re my babies, I love them!! Oh, I just realized I haven’t explained the plot yet. Well basically, they’ve accidentally found a crystal that gives very dangerous powers to whoever monster is touching it, so now they have to find a place where it would be safe from getting into the wrong hands. It’s like finding a tiny nuclear bomb and now you have to put it somewhere where nobody can find it.

so! slawbo 3. FINALLY. this has actually been finished since like june UGH but summer was crazyyyy and fall has been too and editing this was a slog. but here we are! and it's even longer than the rest of the series combined!

behind the scenes stuff: so the bouncer/security guy, Smith - in the early draft he was actually a locksmith, so his name was a pun lmao. it stuck thru the changes, even tho its not a very one piece name lol (full disclosure, I'm terrible at naming stuff, both characters and places)

the original draft had sabo asking a local locksmith (Smith) to let him into his 'office'...Smith wouldn't buy it, Law would come along, and they would make out to convince smith that they really were dating

obviously all of that changed in the final draft but bits of it remain!

actually the original premise for this fic was JUST fake dating, and the handcuffed together thing was gonna be a different fic, AND the thrown in jail together fic was gonna be separate, but they all ended up being combined here.

shoutout to ruth for MANY things in this fic: i'll list all of them throughout, but the first one here is that she named the character Sangria (based on her holding a glass of sangria). THATS such a one piece name lol

so there is SOME medical talk here lol - so the bit where Sabo gives medical advice...i wanted to tie back to the last fic, so i had him talk about aortic aneurysms/dissections lol

(like the last fic, this is about AORTIC aneurysms - most of the time when people say 'aneurysm' theyre probably thinking about a brain aneurysm, which is a similar concept but with one of the blood vessels in the brain).

basically, an aneurysm is - contrary to what most people might think - just the widening of the vessel, where the dissection is the actual tearing (which usually leads to death) of the vessel

crazy enough, if the aneurysm is small enough, you just kinda monitor it 😳

so you can see that the aneurysm is alarming as fuck but not necessarily fatal, where the dissection involves the actual vessel tearing, causing blood to leak everywhere (and this is all the aorta, your body's largest vessel, so that's really bad)

TAA = thoracic aortic aneurysm; AAA = abdominal aortic aneurysm

fun(?) fact: if a AAA is large enough, you can feel it - if you press down on the midline of your abdomen, you can feel your abdominal aorta pulsating there - but if you can feel it realllllly far to either side of your midline, that could be an aneurysm!

(please dont worry if this is the case for you, your pulse can reverberate and some people have a wide pulse normally, this is very general lol)

anyways. i feel like sabo would do some hate-research after the events of the last fic, and that leaves him with some handy medical knowledge to get law all hot & bothered with lolll

~ “Can we help you?” Your boyfriend pipped up, looking at the pin he had gifted you clutched inside the woman’s fist. You were glad he spoke up because your voice was gone as you looked at the women.

~ “I don’t think it’s appropriate to show something like this in public. Let alone somewhere that has so many children present.” She spat out. 

~ “Well, I don't think that’s any of your business and I think you need to return the item before I go and get security.” His hand extended towards her expectantly. You knew that Marc and Jake had to have been fighting to front as Steven shook his head glancing at his reflection in a shiny statue momentarily.

~ “This is your last chance to give her back her pin before I get security.” He said more sternly, his accent thick as his glare darkened. She handed him the pin with a huff before turning around and running away. 

~ “Thank you, Steven.” You told him as he pinned the object back in place. 

~ “It’s alright love. No one deserves to be treated like that. I really don’t understand why people are twisted up by people in the lgbtq+ community.” He was standing in front of you now. Looking at the ground sheepishly. You kissed his cheek in a thank you causing a blush to bloom along his cheeks. Then you both continued on your walk.

~Now for Marc. 

~He is the one that comforts you. Reassures you constantly that you are valid, loved and supported. 

~You had told him of your desire to go to pride. He had reluctantly(not that reluctantly because he was actually super excited to share this experience with you) joined you in your time there. 

~He had even bought you matching shirts. Yours said I’m the bisexual girlfriend. His said I’m here with my bisexual girlfriend. The words were written in the bi pride colors. 

~You were so excited the day of, you showed up to watch the parade that morning with a beaming smile on your face. A large group of people passed you by and you could see a few of them reading your shirts. 

~You had always been a bit shy when around other people in the LGBTQ community. There had been many different instances that they had shamed you in the past. This time wasn’t any different. When one of the women started talking to someone else in the group. 

~ “How can she even say she’s bi when she’s in a relationship with a guy.” She snickered as she passed you. 

~ It didn’t seem Marc had heard, however, to focused on the parade going on in the street in front of you. No one here posed a threat to either of you in his mind so he had let loose a little. 

~ He had however noticed the way your hand slipped out of his. He looked at you quickly and saw you fiddling with the ends of your shirt. 

~ “What’s wrong?” He asked as he scanned the crowd to see if he could spot what happened.

~ “It’s nothing Marc. You can go back to watching the parade.” Your hands wrung together as you spoke. 

~ “Tell me what happened honey. Did someone hurt you?” His eyes scanned your body looking for injuries. Though he didn’t know they could’ve laid a hand on you with him standing right there. 

~ “Just someone invalidating me again. Nothing new.” He knew that you had insecurities surrounding your sexuality. Having been told many times you were faking it, that it didn’t exist or that you weren’t actually bisexual since you were with Marc. 

~He had always done what he could to reassure you that you were validated and that you shouldn’t listen to what everyone said. This time was no different as he brought you into his chest squeezing you to him. Your arms came around his middle as you hugged him back. 

~ “You are such an amazing and wonderful girlfriend babe. Your sexuality is valid. No matter what anyone else says you and I both know you’re bisexual. Steven and Jake know you are bisexual and we love you so much. We are comfortable with you exploring both sides of your sexuality as well. You just have to sit us down and talk about it with us.” He kissed the top of your head as you squeezed him tighter. 

~It was always comforting to be in his arms. He smelled like a combination of the three of them. The three that would love and care and protect you until their last breath. 

~Now onto Jakeeeeeeee. 

~This man will let fists fly with no hesitation. Very very very protective.

~It was routine for one of the boys to be standing outside of your workplace waiting for you when Jake didn’t have a mission for Konshu.

~ “Fine.” Was your simple answer, even though work had been super annoying due to one specific co worker. 

~ “What happened?” He asked you as he scanned your face with his eyes.

~ “You normally won’t shut up about your work day. But today was just fine. So what happened?” His demeanor changed as he finished his sentence, now in complete protective mode. 

~ “Chad from accounting was going on again about me being bi. Told me that it was a sin. That I would feel the wrath of hell. Told me I didn’t deserve to breathe the same air as him. Just the normal gist and what not.” You shrugged simply as though the words didn’t sting you. As if you didn’t feel a deep hole within your chest as though he had stabbed you repeatedly with every word he spoke. 

~ “Where is Chad now?” Jake was seathing as you spoke. The boys were all talking loudly within his head wanting to find the guy and put and end to him. 

~ “He’s probably out back. He takes a shortcut through the alley to get home.” You knew he was going to find him anyway so you figured you’d save him some time. 

~ “Go Home. We’ll be there shortly.” You nodded your head, giving his hand a squeeze. 

~ “Just don’t kill him okay?” You gave him a peck on the lips before you were slipping away. 

~It was almost an hour later that Jake slipped through the doors. Hands and shirt bloodied and you knew his point had been made to Chad. You cleaned him up and thanked him for helping you. 

~ “I will always protect you amor.” Was his response.

Okay, I need crazy dr ideas.

For example i have a poppy playtime dr.

Yeah! I was an orphan in the orphanage in the factory. And I like really really liked Dogday and Catnap. And I was their favourite too lol (main character energy i guess). And when the hour of joy happened they managed to bring me out of the factory before returning. I was a 7 year old so my mind just blocked all the memories from there.

And the plot begins with that i have a necklace with a sun-moon thingy on it. And its connected to this sun on Dogdays chest and moon on Catnaps. And whenever i press it they vibrate and they feel it. And when they first gave the necklace to me (it was before Catnap became crazy and started worshipping Prototype) they said to press it whenever i need help.

Yeah, they basically were like parents to me in the orphanage. But, no, its not what you think. Im not a weirdo that ships them. They are like two besties raising a child, yeah, got it? I just cant see them together other then platonic, cause they are children after all😭

So when I am 14 i run away from my foster parents that were quite ab¥sive. And stumble across the Playtime factory. And i climb inside and decide to life there for a bit, cause its already abandoned??? And so inside I meet a guy that worked there before (yeah, its the player, but he has a name and look there). He is around his 30-tees (or how dafuq do ya spell it) and is really nice. So he says that i should leave, but due to the rain outside he lets me stay until the rain stops. But I have to be next to him to not get hurt or lost in the big factory.

And so then there is Huggy, we run away together. We go through that all (Yay trauma!!!!!!) Chapter 1, then Chapter 2, that will be really... Traumatizing...? Yeah, thats the only right word. But there ks also a good thing! Because I am a kid the toys are less aggressive towards me. For example Huggy is more hesitant in running at us, cause he sees me (Come on, of course I am the main character). I cried when he and Mommy died lol. Then there was the third chapter. That was scary at the beginning, cause I wasnt unconscious and I actually saw Catnap. I, of course, didnt remember him. And he really deformed since i last saw him. In this reality he was like Dogday and others walking on two feet before mutating. And so there was really stressing in the press but we managed to get out. And, yeah, i didnt have this blue/red/green (and idk how many colours it has) hands, so the player had to actually carry me, but I was a child and he was a factory worker so it wasnt really a problem (yeah, i have a headcanon that the player is that strong because he worked with weights while producing the toys).

And yeah, there comes the third chapter. The first time Catnap tries to attack us (it begins sooner then in the game) I accidentally press the moon thingy on my necklace and his moon vibrates and he stos in tracks, looking at me. And his eyes change slightly with realisation before he runs off. And then when we meet Dogday we actually free him first (yeah, i have a knife with me) and me and the player carry him.

And then at some point we actually meet Catnap and he isnt really aggressive anymore (yeah, yeah, main character energy ✨).

And he helps us and carries Dogday on his spine and we find Dogday spare legs (idk how, we just find them) and sew them on and the player actually nows about that sh¡t and manages to put together the "nerves" and, to the players shock, bones. So he can go again. And then we go, defend the Doctor, the prototype and live happily ever after in the factory lol. We help other toys and they kinda less aggressive and dont have this hunger anymore, cause it was (IN THIS SPECIFIC REALITY!!!) the prototype activating the hunger. So we like all live there and repair the places we live in things like that.

(i've never really been good at personality descriptions but i Will try my best!!) Dr. Blue is very driven by his passions and interests, often breaking a more docile demeanor to celebrate and enthusiastically explore these things. Its actually mostly why he got into being a doctor! After being rejected by the Star Guard (without spoiling too much), he would double down on the belief that technology had the potential to help people. Technology is also one of his special interests and one of the very few things he prides himself in being good at. He tends to be as kind - though assertive - as he can be, even if he is made uncomfortable by his clients. It's kind of like customer service for doctors asdfhb

He often fears looking like his father, through his work, through his personality, and often doubts his abilities to be good at much of anything. He has an incredibly difficult time being very vulnerable around people, including his friends, and would often self-isolate as a means to 'deal with the bad.' This coping mechanism doesn't help the want to be nothing like his father either.

Blue also has a very hard time processing grief or fully understanding it, and in his prosthetic, you'll see a handplate and a large orange band beside a blue one - these are representative of his (dead) brother. If he were to lose anyone else close to him, he would add another band with a color representative of them.

He is a massive computerkisser (which honestly probably helps with how much he treats his job with care and delicacy). He also loves MTT, huuuge fanboy of them - will collect any sort of merch and other of them, though will likely only wear any sort of fan merch thats bigger than a keychain where the setting doesn't call for it (like public situations). Also a big fan of all Portal games!!

Morals!! A huge one is that he refuses to hurt anyone in the name of medical advancements, science, or really anything at all. He believes that many, if not most, situations can be talked through and that everyone deserves to live and have a chance to be understood - that many situations are much more complex than what is visible on the surface.

It's a little hard getting into his current relationship dynamics without spoiling too much of Nightwatch, but he is very close with Dream, Scell, Memory, and Psych - having a familial relationship with Dream and viewing the others as close friends, save for Memory, who he sees as a little strange (and fears for the safety of his technology around). He would also probably really get along with Alphys!

As for some more little fun facts, he gets to keep the fuzzy skull and eye light color communication that the handplates brothers have. Due to this being a handplates AU specific trait, this causes a lot of confusion and misread signals for when he meets characters like Ink, or others with differently colored eye lights outside of his AU for the first time. He will only change eye light colors around those he is very comfortable around as he grows older and get rather embarrassed if he glowed around others (let alone getting FUZZED, how horrible!!).

All of his personal tech (like a phone, tablet, etc) are either very old models (the guy to still use a flip-phone in 2025) or modeled off of old userbases

He would probably be a big fan of artists like Weezer and The Killers (its a really random one but one that i personally think is funny. he's a big loser). He's also a homestuck fan (it's such a non important detail but if you ever brought it up to him, he may be horrified). He doesn't talk a lot about it because it isn't socially acceptable, but he does know the ins and outs of the hospital and all the ways to escape or get into rooms (typically through vents) if a situation called for it. He tends to collect things that other people would deem as trash (broken buttons, spare beads) and create little keychains out of them. He would also be really into underground battle bot fighting rinks, but would get too attached to the robots involved and likely end up heartbroken when one of them inevitably got damaged in battle. He likely has a journal full of old designs for battle bots

Also, i just saw your post about your hate to Viserys, and i feel THE SAME. It's appalling to me how people are so ready to dismiss Viserys involvement in the conflict between the targ siblings and all the horrible things he did to Aemma and Alicent, simply because he was so ready to play the "supporting father" to Rhaenyra, even though what she did WAS wrong, but are soooo ready to call out and judge Alicent in her very obvious and understandable complex feelings about her motherhood (at least talking about the show, i know it's a whole other thing in the books).

In no way i'm justifying Alicent, i'm just saying, her character until the ending of season one is a very clear consequence of the people around her taking advantage of her and manipulating her into whatever thing they needed her to be, miss girl was a VICTIM, she had that weird relationship with Otto, although it wasn't incest it was weird, she was manipulated by him, she was offered like cattle to a much older man, groomed, raped, and AGAIN, she had to offer her body in horrible ways to Larys Strong, she had to watch the children that she didn't want to have in the first place be casted aside by Viserys, Aemond being maimed too like WHAT? (I truly believe Aegon had no saving, that man was born rotten as much as Joffrey was, but i feel like with the correct parents, Aemond and Helaena would have had a better life)

I have to admit, i do have a double standard, i will never judge Jon for being a bastard, but i do judge Rhaenyra for having three. Did she have another option? Maybe, she could have waited for the marriage to be annulled after not having children. Is she to blame? Not entirely, at least in the show, she was forced to marry Laenor, but she did like a thousand tours to find one suitable and simply because she was defiant, she didn't choose someone, and she was also a teenager I KNOW, but i'm sorry it'a a theme with me, i can't have simpathy for them, they were a dynasty, they were in the Reed Keep drowning in their cups while the people of Kings Landing were starving and hating on them (righfully so). My empathy can only be streched so much, and it seems it's only reserved for anyone other than the people of Old Valyria.

Long rant i know, and i don't expect you to answer to this ask, i know you've had really bad encounters with targ stans lately and i don't want to give fuel to them to say more horrible things to you, i'm simply content with sharing this with you because i love you and i appreciate a lot your points of view, and i also have no one to share my sentiments too, everyone is a die hard targ stan apparently lol

Otto actually sums up to Rhaenyra why the Dance happened, and it explains why it's all Viserys's fault. "The succesion changed the day your father sired a son."

He was also right when he told a young Alicent that Rhaenyra will need to put Alicent's children to the sword, to get the Iron Throne. It was unusual, but people understood WHY they named Rhaenyra heir. There was no son, and the alternate was Daemon, whom NO ONE trusted with the throne.

If Viserys was intent to keep Rhaenyra the heir, there wouldn't be as much of contest if she remained his only child. She likely still would've also turned to Daemon for strength and marry him to intimidate any detractors who might stand against her. But, she didn't stay Visery's only child.

Viserys caused the dance by having a son, and not naming him the heir proper. According to not only Valyrian followed customs, but Andal Law which the Targaryeans primiarly have used to set up their system, they follow Male Primogeniture. It is laws and custome that dicate that Aegon has the right to the throne as the firstborn son. I'm normally not here to argue if thats right or not, since I prefer to keep my focus within the bounds of the universe the series is set in, so in this story, its fair to say Aegon has the better claim. All inheritance before and after this story will also prove that the Targaryeans beleive this as well anyways. I.e Rhaenys and Laenor losing to Viserys despite him being from the Kings second eldest son not the firstborn son, and Aegon the Conquerer both being crowned King and before that inheirting Dragonstone over his older sister Visenya who also did not press her claim when Aegon died but instead propped up her son Maegor instead. The Targaryeans have always followed this rule.

Viserys keeping Rhaenyra the named heir when the precedent which made them set that up no longer exists, he is being a hypocrite. He is not following the laws and customs of his own Kingdom. Even when she was the only heir, he still didnt even bother to truly prepare her to rule anyways just as he never prepared Aegon. Neither of them know how to rule because Viserys never taught them. Its his fault they both are so woefully unsuited to rule.

In truth, Viserys NEVER should've remarried if he wanted to keep Rhaenyra as his named heir. He caused the Dance the moment he married Alicent with the intent of fathering more children, and did not denounce Rhaenyra's status as his named heir. It is literally, all his fault. He knows the kingdom wont accept Rhaenyra if a man is an option.

He BECAME KING because of it. Rhaenys and Laenor had the better claim, but they lost because Rhaenys was a woman even though her position was stronger because her father was older. Viserys wants played favourites, neglegted his children that werent Rhaenyra, and was so ineffective that the Dance literally is his fault and no one elses.

I mean, Viserys also murdered his first wife, then maritally raped a teenage girl who he took as his second wife, a girl who when she was young, was someone who didnt do anything wrong and was literally just doing as she was told and what she thought was the right thing to do. So really, I don't care what Viserys ever wanted in the first place.

I think Aemond probably would've turned out better if the incident with Lucerys either never happened, or Lucerys was properly punished for maiming and partially blinding him. He might have not grown up with such anger and resentment. Haelena just needed to be surrounded by a family NOT called Targaryean and she would've been fine. Let her go to Oldtown and grow up with Daeron with Gwayne and she would be happy for once in her poor life.

Aegon is more complicated, I think the show unfairly demonized him in a ploy to trick the audience into automatically supporting Rhaenyra, which worked. He isn't a good person, but neither is Rhaenyra, neither is anyone. No one in the story is a good person, but Aegon gets demonized more by the show because it makes you want to support him less. Aegon definitly isn't as bad or anywhere near as bad as Joffery. Much like what Cersei told Tyrion when he said Joffery was more Robert then Jaime, she protested saying "Robert was a drunken fool but he didn't enjoy cruelty."

I think being the first born son to Viserys against Rhaenyra is what caused him to disconnect from even trying to prove himself, and Alicents persistence in making him paranoid about his life and future didnt help. Joffery is bad because cruelty was in his blood, because no one around him taught him to be that way (see none of Cerseis other children turned out that way nor did Roberts bastards turn out that way). Aegon, other then the rape thing which is bad but I really have a hard time reconciling because its so blatantly a ploy by the writers as opposed to something genuine to his character since it literally never comes up again, is someone who can be cruel but doesnt enjoy it. He just doesnt know what else to do because his entire life was surrounded by a family committing cruel acts with no consequence.

Also, its not a double standard. We dont judge Jon for being a bastard, because its not his fault. We judge Rhaenyra for mothering bastards, because doing so tarnished her image to the realm since everyone can see they arent true Velaryons, and since she lied about it, she was directly putting her children in danger because she was heir to the Throne. She did worse so, because she then had clearly trueborn Valyrian children with Daemon anyway. She was literally setting Jace up to experaicne the exact kind of succession crisis that her own father caused. Rhaenyra isnt bad for having sex and children with someone she had feelings for, shes bad for doing so without thinking of ANY of the repercussions of the sheer danger it puts her children in.

As Lyonel told Harwin about it, "Your intimacy with the Princess Rhaenyra is an offense that would mean exile and death. For you, for her, for the children." Lyonel isnt angry his son had bastards, hes angry his son willingly had three bastards with a woman that puts all of them in danger for their very existence and made it worse by lying about it.

Having bastards isnt treason, lying and pretending they are trueborn and pushing them to inheirt over trueborn children, is treason. And that puts them in danger. Thats why judging Rhaenyra for having three bastards isnt a double standard. Jon existing as a bastard put no one in danger, and Ned protected him better then Rhaenyra ever could hers. Because Jons parentage would put his life in danger, he lied, and said he was his bastard and never intended to put Jon in any spotlight of inheritance as trueborn. Ned orchestarted Jons life to be as safe as possible, Rhaenyra, orchestrated her childrens lives to be as dangerous as possible by lying about them even being bastards in the first place.

Basically, the dance is all Viserys's fault and no one elses. And Rhaenyra learned all the worst lessons from him and set her own children up to literally experiance the Dance 2.0 but everyone just died before it got to that point, so people forget how hypocritical she truly was.

Its almost like the point of the dance is that no one was on the right side and they tore the realm and their dynasty apart to fight for a side neither of them could win....You know what, I'm changing Rhaenys' season one line. to be more relevant:

"The Targaryeans would sooner put the realm to the torch, then see their own family ascend the Iron Throne."
