ngl its kinda funny how my language study is like:

mother tongue: spoken at home. fluent but is considered 'celup' by grandma

mother tongue (formal): spoken outside. yeah its fine i learned it from kindergarten school to highschool.

english: informally learnt through reading encyclopedias that was lying around in the house. formally learnt from kindergarten to highschool. at uni level only for muet

arabic: familiar bc Quran reading time. formally from middle school to highschool but i understand jackshit. went to arabic course for two years and finally grasped the basics. i love arabic so much even if balaghah is beating my ass.

and now, chinese (simplified mandarin): tried online app courses. keeps forgetting to do it. too broke for formal classes. final solution: change my phone setting to cn. it's working. feels like cn is beating my head over and over again but it's worth it tbh

Reasons why computer problems seem to mysteriously vanish as soon as a technician shows up:

I’m going to be starting a new job soon and in my talk with HR she went “Computer tech? That means you’ll be with the boys.”
