On my needles - more stash yarn! I'm on a mission to use at least some of the special balls of yarn I have stashed. The yarn that is stashed because it's too lovely to use! There was only a little of this light colour and I'm using the last bit of it in stripes with the yarn that will complete my sweater. Do you notice anything about the stripes? No steps! All thanks to my good friend, Hilda from Ilona Slow Life Creations. And she has made a You Tube video of this mind blowing technique. Spanspek, aka as sweet melon or cantaloupe, is renowned for its exceptional taste in South Africa. But why is it called Spanspek? The story goes back to Sir Henry Smith, a governor at the Cape, and his Spanish wife, Juana Smith. Sir Harry relished bacon and eggs for breakfast, but Lady Juana preferred cantaloupe.
