But now, as she watches Rena’s face contort into one of horror and rage, she can’t help but tremble as the familiar feeling of regret claws its way back to her.

She feels the weight of the paper in her hands, heavy and burning on her skin. She feels the cold rings digging into her palm. She hears his words over and over again until they drown out everything else.

i think it would’ve been cool if in response to accidentally cataclysming uncanny valley or monarch, chat noir had developed a mental block around using cataclysm at all. and ladybug didn’t notice at first because he did a good job hiding it, finding other ways to destroy the akumatized object/help ladybug win. but then, in some crucial moment, he fails to use cataclysm in a battle and it’s really detrimental. hard to come back from. ladybug confronts him and he explains that he just can’t make himself call cataclysm anymore, not after seeing how it can hurt a person. and then adrien goes on a self discovery journey with plagg about destruction and how powerful it is and all the harm and good it can do and how to respect it without being afraid of it. and then he gets his cataclysm back :3
