i have a few fictional caregivers so!!

bandit heeler: reminds me of my actual dad when i was younger - australian and loves actively playing with his kids!!

flynn rider: accommodating - no matter how i'm feeling, as it can change daily, he works to help me feel comfortable in all situations!! (also really funny!!)

donatello hamato: rambling about any sort of fixation is adored. he encourages me and helps me research and look into content around my current fixations!!

gilbert blythe: he's soft spoken, especially when i'm sleepy and i love reading with him (in my head he acts out scenes!!)

wolverine/logan howlett: outdoorsy and is always with me when i go for long walks or trips out of the house - i get anxious really easily and thinking about him guiding me and being with me as i do errands or just go for a wander really helps!!

Pillow Fort

“You’ve been working for an awfully long time Don, don’t you want to take a break?” Leo asked as he rolled about his brothers lab on his chair, “I mean, I don’t think I’ve seen you leave this lab in days! You need to breath, get some fresh air!” His voice was simply causing Donnie to stir more, groaning softly as he leaned in closer to the drone he was tinkering with, he’d always use the same excuse, ‘I’m nearly done’ ‘I’ll be out in an hour’ ‘See you at dinner’ and yet hr wasn’t nearly done, he wouldn’t be out in an hour and he wouldn’t see him at dinner.

“Yeah yeah I know, I know” signed Leonardo, he lifted from his chair and existed his brothers lab. As he left the roof his eyes were drew to a small plastic item on one of the shelves. He stopped in his track and stared at it, his head turning to the side slightly. It was a lilac pacifier, god Leo hadn’t seen this thing in ages. His eyes wandered between his twin and the soother, Donnie wasn’t looking so surely he wouldn’t notice if Leo just so happened to slip the pacifier off the shelf. In one swift movement Leo grabbed the paci and left the room without another word.

His heart was pounding, God if Donnie had caught him that would’ve been embarrassing. He was only trying to help his brother, he just wanted him to be relaxed. Donnie hasn’t been this tense in a long while, every word you spoke to him was leaving you at risk of being yelled at. “What’s that?” The voice Broke Leo from his trance, looking up from the plastic in his hands his eyes were met with his red masked brother, “Donnie’s Pacifier” he mumble, fiddling with it. “Should probably clean it, it’s all dusty from sitting on his shelf” Leo spoke, he wandered over to the tap and turned on the hot water. Waiting for the water to heat up Leo turned to Raph, “when was the last time Dee was…y’know, like, small?” He asked before wincing and pulling his hand away from the water.

“Hot” he mumbled to himself before putting the hot water in a cup and dunking the plastic in it before turning off the tap. “The last time…was when…we um- no, no that wasn’t it. You know I actually can’t remember” Raphael stumbled through his words as he stared at his brother, he watched Leo wipe down the rubber with a cloth and placed it on the counter. “I’m gonna fix that”

And fix it Leo did, after a few hours and a lot of upper body strength a large Pillow fort was built in the middle of the floor. It was made with blankets that Leo had seen Donnie using, he was careful not to use any his brother wasn’t familiar with in fear of setting off his twin’s sensory issues, the lighting was dim and the opening facing the large projector screens. Inside the fort was piles of pillows and blankets and stuffies, sat in the middle of it was Donnie’s paci and a rather curious but comfortable looking Shelldon.

It didn’t take long for Donatello to make his daily walk to the kitchen to grab another coffee but he stopped dead in his tracks, “Nardo…what’s with the um, Pillow Fort?” Asked the purple clad turtle as he stared at his brother who was digging through a collection of tapes. “You wanna watch back to the future?” He asked his brother. Donnie opened his mouth to speak but stayed quiet, he moved his head to face behind him but eventually gave in. In complete silence he took a seat in the fort, snuggling into a pile of pillows and wrapping a blanket around himself.

Leo watched his brothers silent movements with a satisfied smile, the tape began to play as Leo took a seat in the fort next to his brother. After a few moments he looked over at Donnie, he looked so at peace. The purple plastic in his mouth as he snuggled up with a stuffed owl toy, eyes glued to the screen as the movie he’d seen a thousand times before played in front of him.

Platonic Caregiver Donatello x Gn! Reader

Warnings- Age Regression, Mute Regression, Pacifiers, Food, Nickname Baba for Donnie

"Darling, you'll just have to give me a moment. I'm a bit busy right now. This processor is very important." Donnie says to you, using his metal arms to keep you at a distance.

A whine escapes your throat as you slouch back onto your play mat. Grabbing your turtle plush as you pout up at him. You really just wanted to sit in his lap. Hug him. Know that he loves you as much as you love him.

You hear a sigh come from him as he turns to face you fully. "Really, you're going to just stare?" He asks exasperatedly.

You simply nod your head up at him. Uncrossing your arms and reaching up for him to hold you.

You could see him contemplating it. All the pros and cons of pulling his precious baby into his lap while he attempts to work. He's always been strict on rules, and normally you were always so good with them. Donnie recognized this; normally you'd let him work while you played. Peacefully. Perhaps you were sad, he thought. Maybe you just needed comforting.

Of course he was right. That's all you were looking for right now. Confirmation that you're baba still loved you.

He lifted you up gently. Holding you close. "Why don't we take a break?" He asks lovingly. "Maybe we can get Uncle Mikey to make us a snack. Hmm?" He says standing, while you nod enthusiastically.

You bounced lightly in his arms with happiness. He smiled at you as you tried to kiss him through your pacifier. Giggling as he pinches at you in retaliation.

The walk was short before you arrived in the kitchen. Unsurprisingly, Mikey was already there.

"Oh! Hey you're just in time. I just made pancakes!" He exclaims happily. "You're up for that yeah Mini?"

Nodding joyfully at him, Donnie chuckles. Mikey sets a plate for both you and Don. Placing you gently on his lap your Baba cut up the food. He led the fork to your mouth before redirecting it and eating the pastry himself. In a small beat of a moment both you and Mikey were left giggling at his antics. Donnie smiled brightly before, actually, feeding you.

Donnie never actually made it back to the lab that night as you kept him skillfully distracted as he did the same for you. If there was one thing none of the brothers could deny, your little self had Donatello wrapped around your tiny finger.

 » Refuses to admit he’s sick, even more so when he realizes you’re going to be the one to take care of him. Or really, anyone is gonna take care of him. 

 » He tends to run super hot when sick, regardless of his temperature. He’s even super hot when he has a mild fever. In the winter it's a blessing, the summer is a curse. 

 » As for pampering, it’d most likely result in you taking over Raph’s ‘duties’ until he’s better. This does include wrestling Donnie into bed, reminding Leo to eat something other than pizza and cereal, and Mikey to eat after he’s been drawing for a while. 

 » Heat him up in a warm bath, he’ll go absolutely bonkers and you probably won’t see him until the water gets freezing cold. Even then there’s a fair chance he won’t get out. 

 » Overall? 10/10. Very easy turtle to pamper and take care of once you convince him to rest. 

|| Leonardo 

 » The absolute worst to deal with when sick. Not because he refuses to be taken care of (surprisingly) but because of how clingy he gets. This doesn’t change either post or pre Kraang either. Frankly, he’s more clingy post-Kraang. 

 » His pampering mainly consists of wrapping him in as many blankets as possible (he runs cold), and cuddling with him until he’s better. 

 » 80% of the time you’ll find him in the center of the lair, basking in the sunlight. You can move him if you want, but you’ll have to pick him up because he’ll refuse to move otherwise. 

 » TBH, as long as he’s warm + near you, he’s perfect. You don’t really have to do much other than remind him to go to the bathroom and eat. 

 » 4/10. This is only because there’s a 95% chance that you’ll get sick because of him, and he’s the worst caregiver ever. 

|| Donatello 

 » A big fat 2/10 at first. Absolutely refuses to admit he’s sick and if you take his temperature and show it to him? He’ll claim you stuck the thermometer in a pot of boiling water. 

 » And when he gets sick, he gets really sick. Every other person in the lair could come down with the worst sickness ever, but Donatello will remain healthy. Does he have a good immune system? Did he invent an anti-sickness spray? Who knows, it's almost supernatural. 

 » Which is exactly why you’ll have to spend a bit convincing him to rest. He does so eventually, or you can leave him be and he’ll figure it out himself lmao. 

 » But he’ll still try to take care of himself. His head hurts? Don’t worry, he’ll get the ibuprofen himself. He’s hungry? He’ll make himself food. Cold? He’ll get himself a blanket. 

 » A weighted blanket and a Jupiter Jim marathon is almost guaranteed to get this guy to actually rest. There’s a 90% chance he’ll fall asleep in the first 10 minutes of the movie. He’ll also fall asleep on top of you, because you’re warm and he also runs cold. 

 » He sleeps a lot. Like…a lot. So be prepared to spend an entire day either on the couch or in his bed with a sick sleepy turtle on your chest. 

 » After he’s better he refuses to admit he slept on top of you. If you have pictures they magically disappear from your phone. But there’s a high chance Leo has his own pictures (for blackmail purposes). 

|| Michelangelo 

 » THE ABSOLUTE WORST. 1/10. 

 » He knows he’s sick, but he will not lay down or rest under any circumstances. He’s gonna miss everything if he lays down. 

 » You literally have to trap him in a blanket burrito, even then he’ll move against the floor like a worm so he can do stuff. He’s a hassle. 

 » He becomes very grumpy at one point, especially because he wants to cook himself some soup (soup that he makes special for anyone that gets sick. But no no, nobody else can make it but him, it's the law. It doesn’t taste the same). 

 » If you get him talking about literally anything else he’ll perk up. Having a conversation with him is a one way trip to having a happy turtle. 

 » Doesn't sleep at all. Again, he’s scared he’ll miss something. If you ensure him that he isn’t missing anything it usually helps. 

 » Once he’s out of the ‘I’m not sick’ stage, you can let him out of the burrito. If you give him his sketchbook he’ll be much happier, then you guys can draw together. 

|| April 

 » 10/10. Straight up. 

 » She’s great to hang out with when she’s not sick, even greater when she is. She’s by herself most of the time, hence the reason why she hangs out with the guys so much. But she’s pretty good about figuring out when she’s sick or not. 

 » She knows when she’s too sick to move, vs when she just has a mild fever. She doesn’t even need to take her temperature to know this, it's kinda freaky. 

 » She has the best movie choices, so be prepared to bring yummy snacks, comfy clothes, and patience. Some of the movies are horrible, but she loves them because they’re horrible. 

 » She’ll probably fall asleep within 10 minutes of the second movie. But don’t think about touching the remote, she’ll wake up and say she’s still watching it. 

» She sleeps like a rock too, so don’t expect to move for a while as well. But she moves a lot when she sleeps so be prepared to be kicked in the side or whatever. 

 » The only issue is the guys. All of them freak out whenever she gets sick, mainly because the guys don’t really get sick tbh. You’ll practically have to ward Raph off from cuddling with her if she’s cold, and Leo destroying the kitchen to make her some tea or whatever. 

 » Mikey makes his famous sick soup, however, which she loves a lot 🙂

What is your favourite relationship dynamic that you use while writing fics?

I wouldn’t say they are my favorites but it is often my go to while writing but the "Distancer and pursuer" dynamic and the "Fear and shame" dynamic are literally all my fics lol

For example I see that both types describe how I write Raphael/saki, Obi-Wan kenobi/count Dooku, Vlad Masters/Danny Fenton, and a few others

Example for both dynamics separately,

F&S: Donatello/Saki

D&P: Vlad/Dan/Clockwork

I define those two types of relationship dynamics below the read more in case anyone isn't sure what those are 🙂

A distancer/pursuer dynamic can emerge when the relationship is one-sided. This dynamic is often rooted in your or your partner’s attachment style and how you bonded with a primary caregiver in your childhood. If a primary caregiver was not emotionally supportive and validating, it can result in fears of rejection, abandonment, and isolation. 

Fear and shame When one partner is fearful or anxious about receiving love or sharing their emotions, a power imbalance often happens where one partner feels hurt or shamed. In turn, this can lead to emotional outbursts and anger. Most of the time these dynamics link back to unresolved childhood trauma and how a person was attached to a primary caregiver during their formative years.
