posting some of my unfinished comics just to get them out of my mind and because I still think the ideas have merit. Picked at this one for a while before deciding I just wasn't vibing with the compositions even though I really liked the emotional pacing, lol

I imagined this scenario taking place a good while after Band Together, when JD has mostly smoothed things over with the bros but has yet to actually say the words "I'm sorry" because dealing with guilt is hard and he hates the thought that those feelings will never really go away no matter how much he apologizes or how hard he tries to fix things and yadda yadda that's a rant for another post

anyway here's the script I was working off of because I still feel bad I didn't make it to that last bit of dialogue

REAL!! he’s such a hypocrite because if someone mentioned you had a work husband, his entire world would stop and he wold devise the absolute worst plans to make sure that your co-worker, everyone at your job, and everyone in the next building over knew that he was happily committed to you 

but if he is the work husband, he’s very........ dutiful in his role. there’s a loose office/lawyer au in my head where satoru is your secretary, and for all intents and purposes, your personal assistant, and he’s good at his job, but mostly because he considers his job to be pleasing you. he has coffee for you when you arrive, he moves your schedule around without you asking, he has answers to questions before you can even ask them, he has fresh flowers on your desk weekly, pokes into your meetings to pretend to hand you a file that’s really just maybe a single document in a manilla folder with candy on top of it—he’s made himself your business, your partner; he’s made himself irreplaceable, and he loves to remind everybody of that fact. 

he’s also extremely loyal. sure, he could day a week’s worth of work done in about a day, but that doesn’t mean he’ll just use his talents for anybody. he’s your secretary, so he’s at your beck and call, and everyone knows it. they know he’s the best, but also that he’s off limits—not because you won’t share him, but because satoru won’t let himself be shared. 

he also extends his duties beyond work, of course. when he hands you a print out of your schedule for the day and you’re confused by the three-hour block of time you have in the middle of the day, satoru just helps you shrug your coat of your shoulders and smiles, “that’s for the lunch date you have with me, of course!” hanging up your coat in your closet for you, “i’m paying, see you soon, sweets.” and because you’re great at your job, and satoru helps you be great, nobody really questions when the two of you have time for a 13-course tasting menu at 1pm on a tuesday afternoon. and if they did, all satoru would say that you two had a lovely date

What happens without the ACA:

People with chronic conditions get kicked off insurance.

As a result, they don't get care till they go to the ER in extremis, racking up bills they can't pay.

Hospitals don't get paid by insurance companies for any of their care, so the hospital takes a big loss.

Enough of this, and hospitals close. This will happen primarily in rural communities.

Republicans want sicker people and fewer hospitals.

Biden dropping out has been, no joke, the best thing for the Democratic Party in years.

I haven't felt this sort of excitement in electoral politics since Bernie's 2015/2016 campaign. I genuinely do not believe that the Dems have had anything this good happen for them since Obergefell v. Hodges in 2015.

After weeks, months! of Biden fumbling so fucking much (student protests for a ceasefire in Gaza, god-awful debate, etc), to drop out and suddenly . . .

the main Democratic candidate is now a charismatic woman of color who called for a ceasefire in Gaza

a category 5 storm of memes about the biggest album of the year in pop music and pop culture and Kamala Harris

the Republican VP pick generally being an off-putting grifter weirdo

a rumor about aforementioned VP pick having sex with a couch starts to pick up traction

a genuinely exciting search for the Democratic VP slot

Minnesota governor Tim Walz (correctly) calls Trump and Trumpian Republicans “weird”

Harris picks Tim Walz, a middle class, ex-military, former public school teacher who coached his school's football team and sponsored the gay-straight alliance, now a pro-union Democrat attack dog (which I have never seen on a Democratic ticket as long as I have been alive) to be her running mate

he makes a JD Vance couch joke in his first speech as Harris’ VP pick!

How absolutely perfect is this? I have never seen this energy and excitement in electoral politics (save for MAGA-types [but they're a cult]) in my life. This is potentially a godsend for the Democratic party.

Moreover, I genuinely think this could make conditions for pushing for more progressive and left-leaning policies at all levels of government in the U.S. possible.

Day 2 - Just Dance 2024

Trolls Band Together Spoilers

One thing I’ve been dying to talk about are the little ways Bruce and a lay take care of their other siblings and why.

It’s all in the little stuff! Like I am of the belief that Bruce and Clay are so close is because they could only really find solidarity in each other. Growing up no one liked how JD pushed them to be perfect, but Bruce and Clay were the only ones who felt pushed in a box, they were the only ones who got angry.

Floyd was always the peace maker and Branch was a baby so the only ones who understood their anger was each other.

Clay and Bruce always have each others backs, but I wanna talk about how they take care of baby Branch.

Like when Branch is listening to the broad cast with Velvet and Veeneer, Bruce notices Branch’s worry and turns off the radio. (Bruce also carried around Tiny bc he is a true dad.)

During the ‘It takes two’ song, Branch pulls out his blue prints and John Dory immediately pushes Branch out of the way to take control and you can see Clay and Bruce wince like they know it’s a bad idea before Clay pulls John away for the transition shot.

Not to mention Clay and Bruce seem so unironically excited to see Baby Branch that they side like JD, and I know that was probably because they’re still on weird terms with JD, but I don’t think their happiness to see BB was only for pettiness sake.

Maybe there’s some stuff I missed because I only saw the movie once and I looked down at some points to take notes so may haps I missed some back ground stuff but if there is please tell me!

Why the teaser doesn't ruin Night Swan's motives.

So since the teaser hinting that Jack is The Traveler's son, people are obviously falling apart, personally I don't care much about how it affects shipping because just view the just dancers a found family, but that's not what I care about right now, I keep seeing posts about how the teaser ruins Night Swan's motive which is just wrong when you consider it critically.

The claim is that the teaser makes Night Swan's motive The Traveler leaving her that's wrong and you can tell since Night Swan and Jake, assuming that this teaser is meant to imply that The Traveler's son, don't seem sad, Jack seems quite happy for someone who is potentially watching his dad abandon him and his mum and Night Swan doesn't seem to care much either, if this teaser is telling us what Night Swan's *NEW* motive is meant to be then it is doing a crappy job at it.

The *NEW* bit in my last point is important because Night Swan has a motive, she is a failed ballerina who was brought into the danceverse and was tempted by the dark flow and fell into madness wanting perfection. This teaser should be looked at less as giving Night Swan a motive and more as filling in the gap between "Murder on the dance floor" and "Darkest hour" and since this is happening before The Traveler left so it can't have anything to do with him. This teaser is clearly meant to connect to "In your eyes" so I personally think it's fine to use it to work out what happened to make Night Swan evil.

Finding out what happened to cause Night Swan descent into madness is possible when looking at "In your eyes" there is one thing that caused the change from happy and in love to crazy and heartless, I don't think this is the first time she went to Eternyx, but it could be the first time she is there by herself and when she is there she meets Cygnus, and I think that this is the pin for Night Swan, he could have potentially made Night Swan realise that her dreams have failed and taught her about dark flow and how to manipulate it, leading to her becoming evil, this could also explain why Cygnus is involved with Night Swan when she goes crazy, he could feel responsible for it since she wouldn't have messed with dark flow if he hadn't taught her about it, he feels responsible and doesn't want to leave her because of his guilt.

This could also explain why Night Swan and The traveler do break up, Night Swan goes to Eternyx while he is doing something on earth, meets Cygnus and comes back different, obsessing over the dark flow and slowly loosing her mind and a desire to be perfect when dancing, loosing her love for it and her rejecting his attempts to help her until he eventually leaves because it's he can't love her anymore and she refuses to let him hep her.

i'm tired of the idea that Night Swan's motive is The Traveler breaking up with her, when it's not, she has had a motive for ages, perfection, this teaser and "In your eyes" where filling in the gap that lead to "Darkest hour" how can dare people complain about Ubisoft ruining Night Swan by giving her a dumb motive when that's not what was happening, if anything the people claiming that are the ones dumbing Night Swan down Outside of all of that why would The Traveler leave Night Swan at that point they are happily in love and potentially have a child, to date Si'ha Nova, yeah I don't think so and even if that is to be believed Si'ha Nova wouldn't have married or even dated The Traveler because she has self respect and wouldn't trust him since if he left someone for her what is stopping him form doing the same to her.
